ANOTHER COFFEE BREAK: THE PSALM 23 ADVENTURE, Part 20<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>

October\n 28, 2016<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Three weeks ago, we took a break in our discussion of the\npurposes and objectives that the Lord has for us in walking in these Paths of\nRighteousness.  At the same time, let\u2019s not forget what is taking place\nhere is<\/span><\/b> <\/span>\u201cfor His\nName\u2019s sake.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Once again, that phrase, \u201cfor His Name\u2019s sake,\u201d is\nrepresentative of His<\/span><\/b> <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> <\/span>and in order that His<\/span><\/b> <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> <\/span>would become ours.  Jesus\u2019<\/span><\/b> <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> <\/span>is His very makeup, His character, His\npersonality, His authority, rank, power and position.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That word, \u201csake\u201d in this phrase comes from the Hebrew word,<\/span><\/b> <\/span>\u00ef\u00f2\u00c7\u00ee\u00c7<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/b>ma\u2019an<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> <\/span>(<\/span><\/b>purpose, to the intent, because of, to the end that<\/span><\/b>). \nIt has its roots in another Hebrew word,<\/span><\/b> <\/span>\u00e4\u00f0<\/span><\/b>ˆ\u00f2\u00c8<\/span><\/b><\/span>,<\/span><\/b> <\/span>\u2018anah<\/span><\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span><\/b>(<\/span><\/b>to testify to, to bear witness of<\/span><\/b>). \nThus you understand why we are being led in these Paths of Righteousness.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We stopped in the middle (three weeks ago) of our discussion on\nthe critical importance of governing the words that come out of our\nmouths.  Today, I want to begin with a fistful of examples in the Word as\nwe finish that third item in the list of purposes for this walk in the Paths of\nRighteousness.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Before\nwe get to those examples, let me bring up one more Hebrew word that might help\nto clarify where we are going.  That Hebrew word is,  <\/span><\/span>\u00f8\u00e1<\/span>˜c<\/span><\/span>Ÿ<\/span>,<\/span> <\/span>dabar<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>.  This term is\nmuch more than simply the words that come out of your mouth, or the words you\nread on a piece of paper. <\/span> <\/span>Dabar<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> <\/span>is:\na matter,<\/span> <\/span>an event, a thing<\/span><\/b>.  It is:<\/span> <\/span>business,\noccupation, acts<\/span><\/b>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

NOW\nyou can understand why when God spoke, events took place.  Things\nhappened.  Business was conducted.  Acts and actions unfolded at His\nspeaking.  The words that came out of His mouth were the precipitators of\nevents, acts, actions, the business of Heaven taking place.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Got\nthat?  Good!  Now you can see why we have the following examples in\nthe Word.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Joshua 1:8<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span><\/b> <\/span>This book of the law shall\nnot depart out of thy mouth<\/span><\/u>; but thou shalt<\/span> meditate therein day and night<\/u>, that thou mayest<\/span> observe to do according to all that is written\ntherein: for then thou shalt<\/span> make thy way prosperous,\nand then thou shalt<\/span> have good success.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Psalm 1:1-2<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span> <\/span>Blessed is<\/i> the man that walketh<\/span>\nnot in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth<\/span> in\nthe way of sinners, nor sitteth<\/span> in the seat of the\nscornful.  But his delight is<\/i> in the law of the LORD;\nand in his law doth he meditate day and night<\/u>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

II Corinthians 4:13<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span> <\/span>We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I\nbelieved, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Romans 10:8-11:<\/span><\/u><\/b> <\/span>But what saith<\/span> it? The word is nigh\nthee, even<\/i> in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word\nof faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt<\/span> confess\nwith thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt<\/span> believe in thine<\/span> heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt<\/span> be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto\nrighteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For\nthe scripture saith<\/span>, Whosoever believeth on him shall\nnot be ashamed.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Mark 11:23-24:<\/span><\/u><\/b>  <\/span>For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say<\/u><\/i> unto\nthis mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not\ndoubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith<\/u><\/i><\/span> shall come to pass; he shall have\nwhatsoever he saith<\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever<\/span>\nye desire, when ye pray<\/span> <\/span>(<\/span>proseuchomai<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> <\/span><\/b>-<\/span><\/b> <\/span>worship<\/span>), believe that ye receive them<\/i>, and ye shall\nhave them<\/i>.  And when ye stand praying <\/b><\/span>(<\/span>proseuchomai<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> <\/span>-<\/span><\/b> <\/span>worshiping<\/span>),<\/span> <\/span>forgive, if ye have ought<\/span> against any:\nthat your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. \nBut if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive\nyour trespasses.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let\nme share the following principles derived from these examples in the Word.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

A.   <\/span> <\/span>We\nMUST understand the purpose of words.  Without that understanding, we\nabuse and mis<\/span>-use them.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

B.    <\/span> <\/span>We\ndesensitize our thinking by the repeated abuse and mis<\/span>-use\nof words.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

C.   <\/span> <\/span>We\ndon\u2019t believe what we say because our language and our conversation have been\ncontaminated by our repetitious acts of wrong speaking.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

D.   <\/span> <\/span>When\nour words come out of contaminated emotions, we speak contrary words to the\nWord of God.  When we speak contrary to the Word of God, we get contrary\nresults.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

E.    <\/span> <\/span>Until\nyour heart is in a state of believing (and not just believing, but KNOWING),\nyou won\u2019t have what you say.  Therefore, until your heart believes and\nknows, SHUT YOUR MOUTH, because what you say, you sow!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

F.     <\/span> <\/span>Word\n\u201cseed\u201d is what determines increase.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

OK,\nso far?  Good.  Meditate on those principles.  Get the Word of\nthe Lord so ingrained in you, in your thinking, and in your speaking that it\nliterally changes everything about your life going forward!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Now,\nI think we can move on to the next principles in this list.  We\u2019ve just\nfinished Number 3.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

4.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>One\nof the primary objectives of walking \u2013 and learning this walk \u2013 in the Paths of\nRighteousness is to take us from academic learning to knowing by\nrevelation.  You\u2019ll recall that one of the promises to the overcomer<\/span> (in Revelation 2:17) is<\/span> <\/span>\u201cto him that overcometh<\/span> will I give to\neat of the hidden manna.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\ncan\u2019t take the time today to go back into that third letter of the seven\nletters written to the body of Christ, but suffice it to say that this was a promise\ngiven to those who would overcome the attempts to twist the Word of God into\nman-pleasing, rational thinking, humanistic speaking.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nterm, \u201chidden manna\u201d is always representative of having the things of God\nrevealed to you supernaturally, rather than by trying to \u201cstudy them\u201d or learn\nthem according to, and out of, the doctrines and teachings of man.  It\nalso applies to our every-day life, encountering obstacles or problems that we\nhave no answers for, and having the Lord give us supernatural revelation as to\nthe answers.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

A\ncouple of examples will help you understand what I\u2019m talking about.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

One\nof our longtime friends, Lynn Smith, loves to tell the story about her old\nrefrigerator.  Della had gone to visit Lynn and found her having moved her\nfood out of the refrigerator into ice-boxes.  Lynn explained that the\nrefrigerator had quit working.  She had called a repairman to come and\ntake a look at it.  The repairman had taken the compressor out (it was\nlaying on the floor beside the now-dismantled refrigeration parts) and was\ntrying to find a replacement for it.  Della had just been listening to Fred\nPrice share on the ability we have in Christ to speak things into existence,\nand she was absolutely \u201cwired\u201d with that word.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

She\nlaid hands on the refrigerator and commanded it to begin working. \nInstantly the refrigerator came on.  They both laughed and turned to other\nthings.  An hour or so later, they checked to see if the refrigerator was\nreally working.  Lynn opened the refrigerator door and expressed amazement\nthat it was nice and cold inside.  So Della helped her move all of her\nfood back into the refrigerator and the freezer compartment (which was working\nvery well, thank you!).  Lynn called the repairman and told him he didn\u2019t\nneed to come back.  The refrigerator ran and continued to work for the\nnext ten years.  It was still working when Lynn decided she wanted a new\nand more modern one and replaced it.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Technically,\nthat was impossible.  By any rational or reasonable thinking, that\nrefrigerator couldn\u2019t possibly work!  When you have the Word of the Lord\nworking in you, and you allow that Word to become your word, creative things\ntake place!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

OK? \nTry this one for size.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Back\nin the late 1980\u2019s and early 1990\u2019s I was Chief Engineer for the FOX television\nstation \u2013 KTBY -- in Anchorage.  I\u2019d only been on the job for a few short\nweeks when I got a call at 2:00 AM from the Master Control operator saying that\nthe station was off the air.  The station was running on a WW-II\nvintage-designed RCA transmitter that had run for years at KOMO in Seattle\nbefore being taken out of service.  The transmitter had been designed for\nBlack and White operation, but had been modified to put out programming in\ncolor.  There were no modification drawings or prints to go by to analyze\nthe problem.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When\nI walked into the transmitter room, it was filled with smoke.  The final\noutput tube had melted down, literally destroying the high-voltage cage. \nIt took me some three hours to rebuild that part of the transmitter, and when I\nfinished, it was clear that the destruction had been caused by some other\ninternal fault within the transmitter.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This\ntransmitter was way out of my paradigm.  I\u2019d worked on many transmitters\nbefore, but nothing like this one.  With all the modifications that had\nbeen made, and the lack of schematics to go by, trying to locate the actual\ncause was going to be a tedious task.  There was nothing to do but rely on\nwhat the Lord had long since taught me: get your answer by revelation!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\nlaid hands on the transmitter and began to pray.  \u201cFather, I\u2019m totally\nlost with this one.  I need you to show me what the problem is, and what\nneeds repair.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Immediately\nHe gave me a vision of a failed component.  I went to the back of the\ntransmitter, opened it up, and there in front of me was the exact picture I had\njust seen in the vision.  I removed the part, checked it with my\nequipment, and \u2013 sure enough \u2013 it was shorted out.  That part was long\nsince gone from manufacturing and unavailable, but I knew that I could\nmanufacture one out of the available supplies in the parts storage\ncabinets.  In less than 30 minutes, the replacement was installed and I\nfired up the transmitter.  We were back on the air.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

It\u2019s\na story that has long since followed me \u2013 and one that has brought a lot of\nlaughs from fellow-engineers who\u2019ve faced similar situations.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When\nMichael Sharpe was with me at KTLM in McAllen, Texas (this was in the early\ndays of the station\u2019s beginning), we had what turned out to be a\nprototype         transmitter that had been\nshipped to us.  We\u2019d been told that we were getting a state-of-the-art\ntransmitter \u2013 and it was \u2013 but it was one whose design had never been fully\ntested in the field.  When we first fired it up and went on the air, we\nwere off the air within less than an hour.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

After\ndays of debugging it and trying to figure out why we were having so many\nissues, Michael and I started laying hands on the transmitter and praying over\nit.  One by one, Holy Spirit began to reveal design flaws, and even\nconstruction flaws.  Michael became the guy who virtually lived at the\ntransmitter site because of issues that kept cropping up.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

One\nday, after repeated outages, he laid hands on the transmitter and said, \u201cLord,\nI need you to show me what is causing this continual issue.  Immediately,\nthe Lord gave him a vision of a connector on the top of one of the four\ncabinets that made up this 5 Megawatt transmitter.  He shut that cabinet\ndown, climbed up on the top and removed the connector.  To his surprise,\nthere was a tiny piece of aluminum foil left over from stripping some wires\nthat had fallen down inside the receptacle, shorting out a couple of the\ncontacts.  He was able to retrieve that piece of foil with a pair of\nneedle nose pliers and plug the connecting cable back into the receptacle.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This\ntime, he had success!  The issues that had kept tripping that cabinet\noffline and resulting in a cascade effect to the transmitter were gone.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

There\nwere, of course, many other issues that created trouble for that\ntransmitter.  After much documentation and conversation with the factory,\nthey sent a world-renowned transmitter expert to have a look at it.  This\nwas a gentleman who had traveled the world on behalf of many companies,\nmanufacturers and radio or television networks to solve issues they couldn\u2019t\nseem to get a handle on.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Michael\nand I picked him up at the airport.  The drive back to the transmitter\nsite was an hour long so it gave us plenty of opportunity to talk to him. \nHe shared         some of his stories with\nus.  I asked him how he was able to solve so many diverse issues.  He\nsaid, \u201cOh, that\u2019s easy!  I just lay hands on the transmitter and the\nanswer comes to me.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

It\nturned out that although he had a spiritual background, he had never committed\nhis life to the Lord.  We explained to him that his answers were coming by\nmeans of revelation from Holy Spirit.  By the time we got to the\ntransmitter site, he was ready.  He knelt down on the concrete floor and\naccepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.  For the first time in his\nlife, he understood the gift of God that had been given to him, and he was\nready to commit himself wholeheartedly<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

These\nkinds of stories abound!  We\u2019ve met many other folks over the years who\nunderstand that their success in solving problems is due to the fact that they\nreceive direct revelation from the Lord.  It\u2019s not that any of us are such\ngeniuses!  When you respond to Holy Spirit and allow Him to be the source\nof your knowledge and understanding, people treat you like you are a genius.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Didn\u2019t\nmean to get off and such a story-telling track today, but these are real life\nexperiences in walking in revelation.  This is how Adam and Eve were able\nto tend the Garden of Eden during their time began being compelled to\nleave.  It\u2019s how the Garden of Eden grew to encompass most of the middle\neast before access was cut off.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

There\u2019s\ntoo much to share here, so let\u2019s continue this next week.<\/span><\/a><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n
