ANOTHER COFFEE BREAK: THE PSALM 23 ADVENTURE, Part 16<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSeptember 30, 2016<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/b><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSome forty years ago or thereabouts, a \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tfriend of mine put Psalm 25:4-5, 8-10 to \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tmusic.  It went like this:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tGood and Upright is the Lord<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tTherefore, will He teach sinners in the \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tWay<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe meek will He guide in judgment<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe meek will He teach His Way<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAll the Paths of the Lord<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAre mercy and truth<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tUnto such as keep His covenant, His \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\ttestimonies<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tShow me Thy Ways, Oh Lord!<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tTeach me Thy Paths,<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tLead me in thy Truth and teach me<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFor Thou art the God of my Salvation,<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAnd on Thee do I wait all the day.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/b><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tTwo words jump out immediately in this \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tPsalm: \u201cway\u201d and \u201cpaths.\u201d  The word, \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\u201cway,\u201d is translated from the Hebrew, <\/span><\/b>C\u00f8\u0086c<\/span>\u009d,<\/span> derek<\/span><\/i>.  While \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tit can be translated \u201c<\/span>path<\/span>,\u201d \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tor \u201c<\/span>well-trodden \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\troad<\/span>,\u201d \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tits principal meaning is: <\/span>one\u2019s \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdirection, course of life, journey<\/span>.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/b><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe word, \u201cpath,\u201d comes from the \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tHebrew, <\/span><\/b>\u00e7\u00f8\u0087\u00e0<\/span>\u00ca<\/span>, <\/span>orach<\/span><\/i>.  The \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tmost common translation of this word is, \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\u201c<\/span>well-trodden \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\troad<\/span>,\u201d \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tboth literally and \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tfiguratively.  However, the deeper \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tmeaning of it is, \u201c<\/span>the \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tmanner in which one travels<\/span>.\u201d  It \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tis also translated \u201c<\/span>a \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\trace<\/span>.\u201d  (You\u2019ll \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tremember Paul\u2019s reference to <\/span><\/b>\u201crunning \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthat race that is set before us.\u201d<\/span>)<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/b><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThat race takes place in the Paths of \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRighteousness.  It is race of \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tpersistence and endurance.  It is a race \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twe run with patience, knowing that the \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tlonger we run, the more the Lord reveals \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tHimself and His character to us.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/b><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThat said, let\u2019s continue this \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdiscussion where we left off.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tWe finished last week by saying that the \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tPaths of Righteousness are going to take \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tus places our minds will rebel at, and \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tour thought processes \u2014 if unredeemed \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tand unrestored \u2014 will cause us to \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tquestion God and doubt what he says to \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tus.  That\u2019s where the curse began, and \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthat is where death begins.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tLet\u2019s consider a verse we\u2019ve all quoted \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tfrom time to time \u2014 maybe \u201cmisquoted\u201d is \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tmore like it \u2014 when we are in the midst \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tof difficulty or trouble.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAnd we see, perceive and know with \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tcertainty that everything unfolding in \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tour lives \u2014 every event that occurs \u2014 \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tcooperates as fellow-workers together to \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tbring out the beauty and the good, \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tbeneficial attributes in and for those \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twho love the Lord God \u2014 specifically to \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthose who the<\/i> called, the<\/i> invited \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tand the<\/i> appointed according to \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tHis purposes, His intentions and His \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdesires, as He reveals and expands \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthem.  <\/span>(Romans \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t8:28: RAC Translation & Amplification)<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAre you seeing it?  Folks frequently \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tquote this verse as \u201cAll things work \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\ttogether for good,\u201d but they leave out \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthe important parts of what Paul is \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tsaying here.  Let\u2019s get something \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tstraight in our minds and understanding!<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAll things DO NOT work together for good \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tfor everyone.  All one has to do is to \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\ttake a look at unfolding events in the \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tlives of people around us \u2014and \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tparticularly folks who are not in union \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tor agreement with the Lord.  We even see \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthat things do not work together for \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tgood to many professing Christians, and \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthat is simply because their lives do \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tnot even begin to express faith and \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\ttrust in the workings of God.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tWhat Paul is getting at here is that \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\teverything unfolding in our lives \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tcooperates together for those who \u2014 \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tfirst of all \u2014 love and worship God with \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\ttheir whole beings.  Secondly, and more \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tspecifically, everything works together \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\ton behalf of those who are THE called, \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tTHE invited and THE appointed to the \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twill and purposes of God!<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIn case that seems contradictory for \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tsome folks, let\u2019s take one more example \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tfrom the Word.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIn Matthew 22, (also in Luke 14) Jesus \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tprovides us with a parable concerning a \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tcertain king desiring to throw a grand \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tand exceptionally elegant wedding feast \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tfor His Son.  Many guests had been \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tinvited \u2014 guests who had known the King \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tand as a result of their longtime \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tassociation were expected to come to the \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tfeast.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tWhen the invitation went out and the \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tKing\u2019s servants went to bring and escort \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthe invitees to the feast, they were met \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twith excuses.  \u201cI\u2019ve invested in a piece \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tof property that I need to check on,\u201d \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tsaid one.  \u201cI\u2019ve just purchased a yoke \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tof oxen for plowing my fields, and I \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tneed to put them to work,\u201d says another.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tHow about this one?  \u201cI\u2019ve just gotten \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tmarried, and that will interfere with my \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\ttime with my new wife!\u201d  Now this \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tparable takes a very decided turn when \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tJesus says that most of the remaining \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tinvitees decide to attack and persecute \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthe messengers, even taking things so \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tfar as to murder them.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAnd these are supposed to be folks in a \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tlongtime relationship with the \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tKing?  After all, they were on His list \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tof expected guests.  These were supposed \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tto the friends of royalty.  It takes no \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tgreat revelation to see that Jesus is \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\treferring to \u201cbelievers\u201d \u2014 folks who \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\trefer to themselves as \u201cfriends of God,\u201d \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tor profess to know Him!  Let me take you \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdown a bit of a rabbit trail for a \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tminute.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t I recall Bob Mumford sharing something \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tback in the early \u201870\u2019s at one of the \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tWorld Map Conferences.  He drew the \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tanalogy of what happened with each new \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tmove of God, comparing those who \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tresponded to that which Holy Spirit was \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\trevealing and those who rejected the new \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\trevelations because they were \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tcomfortable in their religious doctrines \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tand traditions when he said, \u201cThose of \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthe previous move of God will attack and \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tpersecute those of the new move.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tWe don\u2019t have to look far to see some \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\texamples.  When the Pentecostal Revival \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tbegan to emerge in the mid-to-late \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t1800\u2019s and began to draw a whole lot of \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tpublic attention with the Azusa Street \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\toutpouring, leaders and adherents of the \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tso-called \u201cmainline denominations\u201d \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\trejected the manifestations of speaking \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tin tongues, the moving into the gifts of \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthe Spirit and the miraculous displays \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tas nothing more than fanaticism.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tI only have to look no farther than my \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tgrandfather, who had been a Methodist \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tpreacher and pastor, who was evicted \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tfrom his pulpit after he and my \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tgrandmother were baptized in the Holy \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSpirit and began speaking in tongues.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAlong with many others like him, he \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\teventually became joined to a \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tPentecostal group which \u2014 in spite of \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tits early leaders\u2019 warnings \u2014 became a \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\u201cPentecostal denomination.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tLess than 50 years later, Holy Spirit \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tbegan to manifest Himself openly in the \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\u201cmainline denominations\u201d to the utter \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tastonishment and frustration of the \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tPentecostals, and the Charismatic \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRenewal began to take shape.  With every \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdenomination, doctrines and traditions \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdevelop which box folks in and blind \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthem to what God is doing.  I can\u2019t tell \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tyou how many times I heard someone say, \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\u201cThey\u2019re Catholics!  (Or perhaps, \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tEpiscopalians!)  They can\u2019t possibly be \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tfilled with the Spirit!  God just \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twouldn\u2019t do that!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tReally?  During the 70\u2019s and 80\u2019s. God \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\topened doors of opportunity for me to \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tminister with several different Catholic \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tand Episcopal priests, vicars and \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tbishops who had been baptized in the \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tHoly Spirit.  Something we all learned \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tin the midst of the Charismatic Renewal \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twas that one of the biggest \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tmanifestations of Holy Spirit baptism \u2014 \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\taside from the initial evidence of \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tspeaking in tongues \u2014 was an outpouring \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tof love that transcended our \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdifferences.  We didn\u2019t have to try to \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tmake others see things from our \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tperspective.  That was up to Holy Spirit \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tto bring change in our \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tunderstanding.  We didn\u2019t have to play<\/i><\/b> Holy \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSpirit and try to enforce those of other \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tpersuasions to accept or believe what we \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tsaw as the truth!<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tNevertheless, as in every other move of \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tGod that has taken place, many \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\u201cCharismatics\u201d became comfortable in the \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\ttruths revealed during the Charismatic \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRenewal (and even formed what for all \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tpractical purposes are \u201cCharismatic \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdenominations\u201d), and when Holy Spirit \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tbegan to move on once again with \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\trevelation foreign to them, those of \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthis latest move began to be resisted, \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tattacked and accused of being heretics, \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tor \u201cpreaching some new Gospel\u201d not \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\trevealed in the Word of God.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIf you think I\u2019m kidding or \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\texaggerating, you only need to Google \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthe names of some of those who have \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tbecome prominent leaders, apostles, \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tprophets or evangelists who are sharing \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthese unfolding truths.  You will see \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthem scandalized, their names dragged \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthrough the mud, their past lives (prior \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tto having the revelation that changed \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthem, bringing them closer to being \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tconformed to the image of God) exposed \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tas current truth, touted as examples of \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tsomeone of questionable character and \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdoctrine to be avoided at all costs.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFolks, God hasn\u2019t changed!  He is \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tcontinuing to draw His people onward and \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tonward \u2014 in the Paths of Righteousness \u2014 \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tto a dimension in the realm of the \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSpirit where we are more and more and \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tmore and more like Him!  Take a quick \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tlook at something that John writes in \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\this first general letter to the body of \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tChrist.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tI John 3:2<\/span><\/u><\/b>:  <\/span>Beloved, now<\/u> are \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twe the sons of God, and it doth not yet \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tappear what we shall be: but we know \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthat, when he shall appear, we shall \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tbe like him<\/u>; for we shall see him as \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\the is.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThat\u2019s change!  That\u2019s a product of \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tcontinuing to hear, to respond and to \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tobey EVERYTHING<\/i> he asks of us, \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twhether it fits our current \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tunderstanding or not!<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tLet\u2019s not forget that this entire walk \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twith the Lord began with a declaration \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthat <\/span>Yowd \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tHey Vav Hey is MY ruler, MY governor, MY \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tfriend, MY companion, MY protector \u2014 the \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tone who tends to me, who leads me to \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthat which will nourish, strengthen, and \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tcause me to grow and prosper<\/span>.  <\/span>(Psalm \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t23:1a: RAC Translation & Amplification)<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIt is unequivocal!  You just can\u2019t get \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\taway from it!  Once you make that decree \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tover your life, you prophesy an \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tunfolding of events that will literally \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\ttransform you.  When this transformative \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tprocess has reached its conclusion, \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tyou\u2019ll be so changed that the old \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tyou <\/i><\/b>wouldn\u2019t even recognize who \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tand what you\u2019ve become.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tTHAT<\/span><\/i>, \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tmy friends, is precisely what the Paths \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tof Righteousness are for!  (And, \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tincidentally, that focus on the \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\trevealing of the Glory of the Lord in \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tus, through us, and by us, is the focus \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tof this new move of God unfolding \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthroughout the world.  With the \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\trevealing of God\u2019s Glory in us and \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthrough us comes a dimension in the \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\trealm of the Spirit that defies \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdescription with natural, human thinking \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tand understanding.)<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRighteousness is the very character and \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tmakeup of the Lord Jesus Christ.  We \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdescribed this word early in this \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdiscussion, but the word, tsedaqah<\/span><\/i><\/b>, <\/span>and \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tits root, tsadaq<\/span><\/i><\/b>, \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tare uniquely Hebrew, whereas many Hebrew \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twords have their etymological root in \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSemitic languages and Chaldean.  The \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tsense of being \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tright<\/span><\/u>, or \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\teven with<\/span><\/u> (in character and \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tmakeup, therefore, in the Hebrew \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tlanguage) comes in juxtaposition or \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tcomparison to God Himself.  That \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tabsolutely HAS<\/i> to happen if we \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tare going to <\/span>dwell \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tin the House of the Lord forever<\/span>!<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tChanges a whole lot of things, doesn\u2019t \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tit?  As a corollary to what John wrote \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tin I John 3:2, Paul writes to the \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tEkklesia in Philippi:<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tPhilippians 1:6<\/span><\/u><\/b>:  <\/span>Being \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tconfident of this very thing, that he \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twhich hath begun a good work in you <\/u>will \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tperform it<\/i> until the day of Jesus \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tChrist:<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tGet it?  This is happening IN \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tUS!   These are the Paths of \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRighteousness in which we are walking, \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tand as long as we don\u2019t deviate from \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthese paths in order to avoid the \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tpressures, the thlipsis<\/span><\/i><\/b>, \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthe \u201ctribulation\u201d that MUST come, we \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twill see and experience the completion \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tand fulfillment of that <\/span>good \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twork<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe Parable that Jesus shared of the \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tWedding Feast is a graphic \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\trepresentation of where all of us are \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\theading.  These Paths of Righteousness \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tare designed to bring such \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\ttransformation in our lives that the \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twalls come down between us and those who \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tare in the same process, albeit at a \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdifferent place.  Titles and positions \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdisappear.  One\u2019s status in life becomes \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\timmaterial.  We don\u2019t look at one \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tanother as \u201crich\u201d or \u201cpoor.\u201d  We see one \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tanother as brothers and sisters in the \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tLord.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe call to the Wedding is a call to \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\u201cthe highways and the byways,\u201d to \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\teveryone who will respond to that call \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twithout excuses \u2013 no matter who or what \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthey are.  That call is to and for those \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twho can and will understand that this \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tis <\/span>\u201cfor \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tHis Name\u2019s sake!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tJesus\u2019 name \u2013 His character, His \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tpersonality, His authority and power, \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tHis love, His very makeup \u2013 is at stake \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\there.  His purpose and objective for us \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tis at stake.  His intention to have a \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tfamily of people like Him is at stake.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

 <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tOnce again, <\/span>\u201dHe \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twhich hath begun a good work in you <\/u>will \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tperform it<\/i> until the day of Jesus \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tChrist.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
