ANOTHER COFFEE BREAK: GOING BEYOND, Part 13<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Before we finish our discussion on the Doctrine of Eternal\nJudgment, let me share with you a rather fascinating experience that happened\nnot long ago. We generally tend to have anywhere from one to three FedEx\npackages delivered to our door every week. For the most part, the driver is the\nsame one who comes each time and he has gotten to know and recognize me.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

On this occasion he rang the doorbell as usual and I opened the\ndoor. Suddenly the look on his face took on a startled appearance as his eyes\nglanced above my head. Very quickly he said, "Good Morning, my lord."\nNo one has ever addressed me like that and it caught me completely off guard! I\nresponded almost automatically, "Good Morning," and took the\nsignature machine he extended to me to sign my name. He smiled but left without\nsaying another thing.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When I closed the front door, Della called to me from the\nkitchen and said, "Honey, did you hear<\/i> what he said to\nyou?" We both thought it was really odd and talked about it for a minute\nbefore I returned to my office. Later in the day, in a conversation with the\nLord I said, "Father, what was THAT all about?" Immediately He gave\nme a vision of the event, but this time I stood back watching myself at the\nfront door and saw a very tall angel standing right behind me. That angel is\nwhat caught the FedEx driver's attention and provoked his address to me.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Other people are having unusual things like this taking place,\nand it is a sign of the time that we are in. As we continue to press into the\nthings of God, He manifests Himself with us, often showing others the hosts of\nHeaven that surround us. You won't have any difficulty understanding when I say\nthat this was really a WOW and Praise the Lord event!<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Anyway,\nwe need to get back to our discussion on eternal judgment.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Before\nwe continue with the picture from Revelation 20 where we left off last week, it\nis important to note that for a thousand years of time up to this moment, Satan\nhas had no ability to tempt, to deceive and to entice the thousands and\nmillions of people who\u2019ve been born during the thousand years. Jesus, as we all\nknow, is returning for an \u201covercoming Bride\u201d \u2014 one who has overcome all of the\nflesh, the temptations of the world, and Satan!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

From\nwhat I experienced when the Angel of the Lord took me forward into the future\nto see Satan loosed, and watch the battles against the people of God unfold,\nthose folks who have grown up and had a knowledge of the Lord and a\nrelationship would now see that relationship tested to the max! Satan\u2019s\nintention is to ply his enticements and deception against a whole new batch of\nprofessing believers and use them against those who choose the Lord Jesus\nChrist as their beloved.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nbattle that ensues once Satan gathers his forces and those who stand in\nagreement with him is earth\u2019s final battle. The judgment of the Lord against\nhim is now a dazzling display of the might<\/span> and glory\nof God as fire (the Greek term used here is <\/span>pur<\/span><\/i><\/span>, which more\nliterally translates as \u201clightning\u201d) consumes Satan's hordes and armies from\ntop to bottom.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

[Here,\nagain, we have a Greek word, <\/span>katesthio<\/span><\/i><\/span>,<\/span><\/i> describing the\naction of the fire which means to \u201ceat down\u201d from the top.]<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\neternal judgment that follows manifests as Satan, the Beast, and the False\nProphet are cast into the lake of fire where they will be tormented throughout\nthe eternity of the eternities.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

(This\nis one of those places in the NT where you see the term, \u201cforever,\u201d (<\/span>aion<\/span><\/i><\/span>) doubled to read like this: <\/span>aiona<\/span><\/span> tou<\/span> aionos<\/span><\/span>,\u201d<\/span><\/i> which we\nrender <\/span>\u201cforever into\nforever,\u201d<\/span> or <\/span>\u201cperpetuity upon perpetuity,\u201d<\/span> or \u2014 as we have\nbeen describing \u2014 <\/span>\u201cthe eternity of the eternities.\u201d<\/span>)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

In\nother words, there is no such thing as a terminus to this. You can\u2019t call it\n\u201can event\u201d because the word, event, has time incorporated into it. You can\u2019t\nrefer to it with any word or terminology which puts it within some specified\nframework incorporating a beginning and an end. It is eternal \u2014 PERIOD!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Consider,\nnow, the next recorded eternal judgment.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Revelation 20:11-15<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>"And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it,\nfrom whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place\nfor them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the\nbooks were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and\nthe dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books,\naccording to their works.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death\nand hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every\nman according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake\nof fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in\nthe book of life was cast into the lake of fire."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

There\nis a second part of this \u201cFinal Judgment\u201d which appears in Revelation 22.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Revelation 22:5-8<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>"And\nhe that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said\nunto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto\nme, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of\nthe water of life freely. He that overcometh<\/span>\nshall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"<\/span><\/sup>But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and\nmurderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall\nhave their part in the lake which burneth<\/span> with fire\nand brimstone: which is the second death."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This\n\u201cGreat White Throne Judgment\u201d has sometimes been referred to as the <\/span>\u201cBema,\u201d<\/span><\/i> but the Greek\nword, <\/span>bema,<\/span><\/i> actually\ndescribes a moveable judgment seat that moves from place to place with the\nJudge.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

In\nany event, what we see is the result of a law of the universe being enacted.\nWhen God created the Heavens and the Earth, He set in place certain immutable\n(absolutely unchangeable) laws which carry specific consequences when they are\nviolated. The laws and the consequences that follow are not a product of the\nwrath of God \u2014 and He DOES have wrath (the Hebrew word for wrath is: <\/span>chemah<\/span><\/i><\/span>,<\/span><\/i> and the Greek\nword is, <\/span>orge<\/span><\/i><\/span>:<\/span><\/i> <\/span>both\nwords mean: violent passion, hot displeasure, heat, anger) \u2014 they are the\nresult of the arbitrary choices we make, and the callous disregard people have\nfor God\u2019s universal law.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Before\nwe wrap up this very brief look at the doctrine of eternal judgment, there is\nan aspect of judgment that we must consider.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Revelation 1:5b-6<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>"Unto\nhim that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, And hath\nmade us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion\nforever and ever. Amen."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Think\nabout the role of the priest for a minute. The priest takes the sins of the\npeople upon himself, acting as an intercessor, and presents himself before the\nKing of Kings seeking mercy and forgiveness. In our role as priests unto God,\nwe act within the person of Jesus Christ, Who \u2014 as Paul writes \u2014 makes\nintercession on our behalf. Look at the way he describes this in writing to the\nHebrews:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Hebrews 7:25-26<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>"Wherefore\nhe is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing\nhe ever liveth<\/span> to make intercession for them. For\nsuch an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from\nsinners, and made higher than the heavens..."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

THAT\nis one of our roles in Christ Jesus.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

But\nthat isn\u2019t the only role. We are also created to be kings. We are supposed to\nbe the kings that Jesus is King of. Among the areas of responsibility and\nfunction that kings operate in is to execute judgment. That judgment generally\nhas a finality to it.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Take\na look at some of the ways that kings\u2019 judgment is described by Solomon in\nProverbs:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Proverbs 8:12-21<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>"I\nwisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty\ninventions. The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy<\/span>, and the evil way, and the froward<\/span>\nmouth, do I hate. Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I\nhave strength. By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. By me\nprinces rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"I love them that love me; and those that seek me early\nshall find me. Riches and honour<\/span> are with me;\nyea, durable riches and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yea,\nthan fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver. I lead in the way of\nrighteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: That I may cause\nthose that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Proverbs 16:12-15<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>"It\nis an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established\nby righteousness. Righteous lips are the delight of kings; and they love him\nthat speaketh<\/span> right. The wrath of a king is as\nmessengers of death: but a wise man will pacify it. In the light of the\nking\u2019s countenance is life; and his favour<\/span> is as a\ncloud of the latter rain."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Proverbs 20:26, 28<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>"A\nwise king scattereth<\/span> the wicked, and bringeth<\/span> the wheel over them. Mercy and truth preserve the\nking: and his throne is upholden<\/span> by mercy."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Proverbs 21:1<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>"The\nking\u2019s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth<\/span> it whithersoever he will."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\nrealize that this is a rather narrow selection from the Word, and we could\nprobably do many pages of references, but these verses draw a pretty accurate\npicture of a king and the way in which God characterizes the role and\nboundaries of judgment placed in the hand of the king.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\njudgment that the King of Kings renders is eternal. It is based in God\u2019s\nuniversal, immutable Law that NEVER varies one iota! We, as those kings\nanswerable to the King of Kings, MUST have that character of righteous judgment\nand justice operating in and through us! This is a mandate from the Lord.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

For\nthe past thirteen weeks (OK, fourteen because of our break for Christmas) we\nhave tried to cover the six basic fundamentals that MUST be laid in our lives\nas foundation  stones if we are to move from being believers who are\ncontinually "under tutors and governors," to that place where Father\ncan put His stamp of approval and sent us out as mature and seasoned "sons\nof God, heirs and joint-heirs with Jesus Christ."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let's\nrecap them as we wrap up this discussion.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nfirst, and most basic, foundational truth is that of repentance from dead\nworks. Without understanding and knowing absolutely that there is nothing we\ncan do to "be good enough" to come to Jesus Christ; without the\nunderstanding that the once-and-for-all price He paid in the stripes He bore,\nthe crown of thorns that was shoved into His skull, and the horrible death by\ncrucifixion that He took on our behalf paid the complete and total price for\nour sins, our sicknesses and our death, we wind up doing repetitious repentance\nwhere faith gets lost in the traditions of men.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

And\nthat brings us to the second foundation stone -- faith towards God. Faith isn't\nthe screwing up of one's will power: it is the trust and confidence-filled\nobedience on our part to hearing God's direct Word in our spirits and acting on\nit. The grace of God enables and empowers us to act in and by God's faith. That\nfaith becomes a transporter mechanism (to use a sci-fi term) to convey healing\nor restoration or various gifts of God into those desiring to receive. [We\noften use this terminology to describe the transfer and conveyance of\n"body parts" or organs from the "body parts warehouse" in\nHeaven when a person receives a miraculous healing.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This\nis followed by baptism in water to demonstrate to both angelic and demonic\nbeings that the old "us" that was subject to the Law of Sin and Death\n-- has hung on the Cross IN Christ -- has died, and no longer is living in\nslavery to Satan. When we come up out of the water, we are still in Christ as\ncompletely new creations now living the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ\nJesus. Right behind water baptism is Holy Spirit baptism as demonstrated on the\nday of Pentecost by the surrender of our tongues to Holy Spirit so that He now\nspeaks through us with the language of the Kingdom -- the Kingdom of God, of\nwhich we are now citizens. Holy Spirit also has a baptism of fire in which we\nexperience a step-by-step purification process necessary for our soul to be in\nproper alignment with our re-born spirit.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Then\ncomes the next foundation stone: understanding and implementing the transfer of\nauthority and power that comes with laying hands on individuals. People receive\nvarious mantles of power and authority from the Lord when one who is operating\nby a direct rhema<\/span> from the Lord lays their hands upon\nthem. Often this will come with an anointing with oil which is poured upon them\nor rubbed into their heads (or hands, or feet, or wherever directed by Holy\nSpirit). One of the most common manifestations of this operation comes when\nsome lays hands on a willing and responsive individual to receive the baptism of\nthe Holy Spirit.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Fifth\nin the series of foundations is resurrection from the dead. If ever there was a\nfoundation needed in the body of Christ today, this is it! With the world's\nculture of death and society's continual focus on death and dying, God's people\nabsolutely need to understand that when Jesus rose from the dead, He didn't\njust grant eternal life to those who accept and walk with and in Him as\nsomething to take place "in the sweet bye and bye." This isn't just\nresurrection from the dead following Judgment Day: this is resurrection from\nthe dead NOW, being delivered from the mindset and culture of death, knowing\nthat one does not need to ever die physically. And that, folks, is a tough one\nfor most folks! But unless God's people get hold of this principle, raising the\ndead will continue to be the exception to the rule instead of being the rule\nNOW!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Lastly,\nwe have the doctrine of eternal judgment -- the study we have just gone\nthrough. As already stated, judgment is the purview of kings. If we are to\nfunction within the  Kingdom of God as kings subject to and ruling with\nthe King of Kings, we absolutely MUST be able to judge according to God's\nstandard of judgment -- not out of human emotion, and not out of some\nreactionary place.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Are\nwe good? Do you understand these foundations, now? Then let's get them laid\nonce and for all so that we don't have to come back and do this all over again!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n
