ANOTHER COFFEE BREAK: APHIEMI HEALING, Part 19<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>

 <\/p>\n

A couple of quick notes before we get started today. Last week I\nopened up by talking about our Sunday gatherings being available by telephone\nconference call. Because I neglected to mention the beginning time of the call,\nit created a lot of confusion and many folks called in to find nothing\navailable. To top it off, we had phone issues which interfered with the process\nand those who did listen in were treated to a fairly distorted call with very\npoor audio. Those issues have been resolved, and if you would like to\nparticipate with us this Sunday (or on future Sundays) we trust you will be\nable to listen to very clear and clean audio.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

To repeat what I said last week, we gather from house to house\non Sundays, meeting in a different home each Sunday reaching from Prosser to\nEllensburg. The spiritual dynamic in the home setting far transcends anything\nyou'll ever get in a traditional "church" setting.  <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

A\ncouple weeks ago we began paving the way for a discussion on the Table of the\nLord as a picture of multiplication, and that picture has many facets. Today,\nlet's begin by going back to the beginning of the Blessing of the Lord, and the\nway it first appeared in the Garden.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Genesis 1:28-30<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b> <\/span>And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and\nmultiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the\nfish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that\nmoveth<\/span> upon the earth.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed,\nwhich is<\/i> upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in\nthe which is<\/i> the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it\nshall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the\nair, and to everything that creepeth<\/span> upon the earth,\nwherein there is<\/i> life, I have given<\/i> every\ngreen herb for meat: and it was so.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The\nBlessing that God pronounced upon Adam didn\u2019t end with dominion; it\nincorporated total provision for Adam \u2013 AND total provision for everything\nunder Adam\u2019s care and dominion. We need this revelation in order to properly\nunderstand just what God was declaring and decreeing for Adam.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The\noriginal Blessing including the following:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

1.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>To\nbe fruitful (parah<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>)\nto increase and increase and increase. The framework of this word is that there\nis no end in sight \u2013 in other words, no death.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

2.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>To\nmultiply \u2013 (rabah<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>)\nthis is God\u2019s concept for multiplication \u2013 having authority over the entire\ndomain where multiplication takes place; to abound beyond one\u2019s capacity to\nstore up; to excel in every area.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

3.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>To\nreplenish \u2013 (mal\u00e9<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>)\nto fill up, to furnish, to restore to a place of total satisfaction and\ncompleteness.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

4.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>To\nsubdue \u2013 (kabash<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>)\nto conquer, to subjugate, to tread down, to bring under firm control.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

5.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>To\nhave dominion \u2013 (radah<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>)\nto prevail against, to rule over, to take possession of.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

6.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>To\nhave every provision for food and for life.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

7.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>To\nhave not only provision for the \u201cnow\u201d but for the future in the form of seed\nfor planting.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Notice\nwhat happens to the Blessing, however, when Adam and Eve sin and are cast out\nof the Garden. It vanishes. Virtually every part of the Blessing is reversed.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

But\nwatch how the promise of God specifically to Eve provides not only the hope but\nthe actual expectation of the return of the Blessing. Her seed will crush the\nhead of the serpent!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Genesis 3:14-19<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b> <\/span>And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done\nthis, thou art<\/i> cursed above all cattle, and above every beast\nof the field; upon thy belly shalt<\/span> thou go, and dust shalt<\/span> thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put\nenmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall\nbruise<\/span> <\/span>(shuph<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> \u2013 overwhelm, cover\n[figuratively, to grind])<\/span> <\/span>thy\nhead, and thou shalt<\/span> bruise his heel.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and\nthy conception; 1)<\/sup> in sorrow<\/u><\/span> <\/span>(\u2018etseb<\/span><\/span><\/i><\/b> \u2013\npainful toil)<\/span> <\/span>thou shalt<\/span> bring forth children<\/span><\/u>; and 2)<\/sup> thy desire<\/u><\/span> <\/span>(teshuqah<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> \u2013\nstretching out after, longing for)<\/span> <\/span>shall be<\/span><\/u><\/i> <\/span>to thy husband<\/span><\/u>, and 3)<\/sup> he\nshall rule<\/u><\/span> <\/span>(mashal<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> \u2013 govern, have power\nover) <\/span>over thee<\/span><\/span><\/u>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the\nvoice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee,\nsaying, Thou shalt<\/span> not eat of it: 4)<\/sup> cursed<\/u><\/span> <\/span>(\u2018arar<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> <\/span>\u2013 to execrate; this\nis reverse of the blessing)<\/span> <\/span>is<\/span><\/u><\/i> <\/span>the ground for thy sake<\/span><\/u>; 5)<\/sup> in\nsorrow<\/u><\/span> <\/span>(itstsabon<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> \u2013 pain, worrisome\ntoil, to carve or fabricate with hard labor)<\/span> <\/span>shalt<\/span><\/u><\/span> thou eat of<\/i> it\nall the days of thy life<\/span><\/u>; 7)<\/sup> Thorns\nalso and thistles shall it bring forth to thee<\/u>; and thou shalt<\/span> eat the herb of the field<\/u>; 8)<\/sup> In\nthe sweat of thy face shalt<\/span> thou eat bread<\/u>, till\nthou return unto the ground; for out of it wast<\/span> thou\ntaken: for dust thou art<\/i>, and 9)<\/sup> unto dust shalt<\/span> thou return<\/u>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Are\nyou seeing it?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The\nfirst thing to happen for Eve was the loss of ease in bringing forth children.\nWhat was \u2013 up to that time \u2013 easy and painless now became laborious and\npainful.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Eve\nalso lost her position of co-equality and partnership with her husband. Now he\nwould be her ruler, and she would answer to him in everything. For Adam,\nbecause he didn\u2019t cover his wife, immediately reject the fruit of the Tree of\nKnowledge of Good and Evil, and ask God to forgive her, he lost his dominion\nover the earth. It became cursed under him, bringing thorns and thistles\n(weeds) became a plague to his efforts to plant and bring forth a harvest.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The\nearth would still bring forth; seed would still be there, and life would still\nbe in the fruit of the tree and the grain harvested, but in order to see that\nharvest, Adam would now have to work the ground in hard labor. No more would\nthe trees which came forth of the Tree of Life be the primary source of his\nsustenance: now he would have to plant fields and eat the herb of the field in\norder to sustain life.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This\nwas the condition of the earth, therefore, for some 1500+ years until Noah\nfound grace in the sight of the Lord. Noah\u2019s secret in seeing the blessing of\nthe Lord restored to him came because of his obedience IN EVERYTHING God\ncommanded!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Genesis 6:22<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b> <\/span>Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did\nhe.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Notice,\nnow, the very next thing that Noah does \u2013 and how the Lord responds because of\nNoah\u2019s act.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Genesis 8:20-22<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b> <\/span>And Noah builded<\/span> an altar unto the\nLORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt\nofferings on the altar. And the LORD smelled a sweet savour<\/span>;\nand the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for\nman\u2019s sake; for the imagination of man\u2019s heart is<\/i> evil from\nhis youth; neither will I again smite any more everything living, as I have\ndone. While the earth remaineth<\/span>, seedtime and\nharvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not\ncease.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Noah\u2019s\nfirst act after leaving the Ark was to worship the Lord, to build an altar to\nthe Lord and to offer up as burnt offerings one of every clean beast and every\nclean bird. And because Noah was obedient in every respect to the Word of the\nLord to him, we are told the following:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Genesis 9:1-3<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b> <\/span>And God blessed Noah and his sons<\/u>, and said unto\nthem, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth<\/u>. And\nthe fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth,\nand upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth<\/span> upon<\/i> the\nearth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they\ndelivered<\/u>. Every moving thing that liveth<\/span>\nshall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things<\/u>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Now\nGod is going to take this a step farther with Noah. Not only has the blessing\nbeen restored, now God makes a covenant with Noah.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Genesis 9:8-11<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b> <\/span>And God spake<\/span> unto Noah, and to his\nsons with him, saying, And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you,\nand with your seed after you<\/u>; And with every living creature\nthat is<\/i> with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every\nbeast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of\nthe earth. And I will establish my covenant with you<\/u>; neither shall\nall flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there\nanymore be a flood to destroy the earth.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

So\nNoah and his three sons, Shem, Ham & Japheth, all become recipients of\nGod\u2019s Blessing and Covenant \u2013 and the Blessing is restored in the earth.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

But\nsomething happens to bring the curse back. As the years go by, Noah plants a\nvineyard and begins to produce wine. One night he drinks far too much wine and\ngets himself drunk.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Ham,\nthe middle of the three sons, walks into his father\u2019s tent and finds him\nuncovered. He, unfortunately, had been contaminated by the some of the same sin\nthat brought the wrath of God upon the human race and caused its total\ndestruction. Ham commits a homosexual act upon his father, taking advantage of\nhis father\u2019s drunken state and inability to resist Ham\u2019s act, and then comes\nout of the tent and (the Hebrew word used in the Genesis 9:22 text is: nagad<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>:<\/span><\/b> to boldly declare, to brag, to\nexpose, to announce or rehearse with praise<\/i>) brags to Shem and Japheth what\nhe has done.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Shem\ntakes the lead, and with Japheth immediately takes a cloak and \u2013 walking\nbackwards into the tent \u2013 goes and covers their father. Verse 24 tells us that\nNoah awoke from his wine and knew what his son \u201chad done unto him.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Now\na curse is going to return into the earth.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Because\nGod had specifically pronounced the Blessing upon Ham, Noah didn\u2019t revoke that\nBlessing, but instead pronounced the curse upon Ham\u2019s firstborn son, Canaan.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Genesis 9:25<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b> <\/span>And he said, Cursed be<\/i> Canaan; a servant of\nservants shall he be unto his brethren.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

But\nNoah takes it a step farther by pronouncing the same Blessing that he had\nreceived of God upon Shem.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Genesis 9:26-27<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b> <\/span>And he said, Blessed be<\/i> the LORD God of Shem;\nand Canaan shall be his servant. God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall\ndwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Thus,\nShem becomes the dominant Blessing in the earth. Canaan becomes a slave to Shem\nand his descendants, Japheth lives in the dwellings and dwelling-places\nestablished by Shem, and Canaan also becomes servant to<\/span> Japheth.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

In\nthe 1840\u2019s, British explorer and archaeologist Sir. John Gardner Wilkinson was\ndigging through some ruins of ancient cities in Canaan when he discovered a\nclay tablet outlining some of Shem\u2019s history. Though not recounted in Scripture\nthe writings on the tablet told how, following Nimrod\u2019s rebellion against God,\nShem took a band of twelve men from the citadel of Salem he had established and\nhunted Nimrod into Egypt where he had fled following the Tower of Babel\nfiasco. <\/span>(Ancient Egyptians, Vol<\/span> 4, pp 330-332)<\/span><\/i><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Shem\nkilled Nimrod, cut his body into twelve pieces and sent a piece with each of\nthe men who had accompanied him to the kings or leaders of each of the twelve\nnations inhabiting the region. With each piece of Nimrod\u2019s body came this\nmessage: \u201cThus shall it be done to those who rise up against God.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The\nfear of Shem came upon the inhabitants of the land, and they began thereafter\nto refer to Shem as Malkiy\u2014Tsedeq<\/span>: (the King of\nRighteousness). We know this title (it is not a name<\/i>) better in its\nAnglicized form: Melchizedek. He was characterized by the phrase, \u201cwithout\nbeginning or end of days\u201d<\/i> because he pre-dated the Flood, and because\nhe continued to live in the land and exercise both authority and power until\nthe year that Joseph was 17 and sold into slavery in Egypt.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Meanwhile,\nShem\u2019s great-great-great (10 generations removed) grandson, Abraham was called\nby God out of Ur of the Chaldees<\/span> \u2014 the first time at\neither age 50 or age 55. <\/span>[Note: If Abraham was first called at\nage 55, and began to respond to God, he was given 120 years to live from that\npoint in his life.) (See Acts 7:2-4)<\/span><\/i><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

For\nsome 300-plus years, the Blessing had been resident and manifested in the earth\nin the person of Shem. We know from Genesis 9:1 and 26 that God had blessed\nNoah and Shem; and that following the grace Shem showed in the face of his\nbrother\u2019s sin against Noah their father, Noah declared and reinforced the\nBlessing upon Shem. It was not resident or manifest anywhere else in the earth.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Following\nAbram\u2019s victory against the armies of the four most powerful kings in the world\nof that era, as he returned from battle, Shem \u2014 in the position and Godly title\nof Melchizedek \u2014 came out to meet him with the symbols of Covenant: bread and\nwine.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Genesis 14:18-20<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b> <\/span>And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and\nhe was<\/i> the priest of the most high God. And he blessed\nhim, and said, Blessed be<\/i> Abram of the most high God,\npossessor of heaven and earth<\/u>: And blessed be the most high God, which hath\ndelivered thine<\/span> enemies into thy hand. And he gave\nhim tithes of all.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

God\nhad promised to bless Abraham IF he would be obedient to the command of the Lord\n(Genesis 12) and follow Him in the land where God led and showed him. And God\nkept that promise beginning with the last person to receive the blessing in the\nearth: Shem\/Melchizedek.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Shem,\nacting as the priest of the Most High God in the title, rank and office of\nMelchizedek, was the first person to actually speak the Blessing over Abraham.\nThe fact that he met Abraham with the symbols of Covenant meant that God\u2019s\nCovenant of Blessing was being established in him. Never before had God made a\ncovenant with a man of this nature. Yes, He had covenanted with Noah never to\nagain destroy the earth, but that was a wholly different kind of covenant. This\nCovenant Blessing would be a Melchizedek Blessing \u2014 one to which the apostle\nPaul would later refer. (See Hebrews 6:20)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The\nCovenant with Abraham was to be one that would affect every part of his life,\nand that of his children, grandchildren, and every generation to follow \u2014 FOR\nEVER! This Covenanted Blessing would essentially give to Abraham all the\nbenefits of Eden.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

1.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>He\nwould never lack for anything.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

2.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>His\nhousehold would prosper.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

3.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>He\nwould never suffer sickness or disease.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

4.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>He\nwould be fruitful.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

5.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>He\nwould multiply.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

6.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>Nations\nwould come forth of his loins.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

7.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>He\nwould have such dominion that other kings would request a covenant of peace\nfrom him.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

8.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>His\nenemies would be under his feet.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

9.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>His\nname would become so great because of his relationship with God that anyone who\nblessed him (or his seed) would be blessed by God.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

10.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>By\nthe same token, all who cursed him or rose up against him (or his seed) would\nsuffer the judgment of God.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Consider\nnow, the character of this Blessing. It was so great that Paul tells us the\nfollowing:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Galatians\n3:6-9, 13-14<\/span><\/u>:<\/span> <\/span>Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for\nrighteousness. Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the\nchildren of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the\nheathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying<\/i>,\nIn thee shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are\nblessed with faithful Abraham.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a\ncurse for us: for it is written, Cursed is<\/i> every one that hangeth<\/span> on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham\nmight come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ<\/u>; that we might receive the\npromise of the Spirit through faith.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

He\nreinforces this with his general letter to the Hebrews when he writes:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Galatians 3:6-9, 13-14<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b> <\/span>For this Melchisedec<\/span>, king of Salem,\npriest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of\nthe kings, and blessed him; To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all;\nfirst being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King\nof Salem, which is, King of peace; Without father, without mother, without\ndescent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto\nthe Son of God; abideth<\/span> a priest continually.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
