ANOTHER COFFEE BREAK: APHIEMI HEALING, Part 34<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>

June 13, 2014<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We were doing a bit of reminiscing in the past few days about\nsome of the rather humorous events of our childhoods and I was sharing with\nfolks an event that took place in the winter of 1947 in Nome, Alaska. We'd had\na rather spectacular snowfall resulting in snowdrifts anywhere from 7 to 20\nfeet deep. Being both the son of a preacher and a missionary, and having a call\nmyself -- even at age five -- imbedded in my spirit by the Lord to the\nministry, it was perfectly natural for me to be a preacher so I did what came\nnatural in that environment.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I dug out a room in a big snow bank, cut a window, put a candle\nin the window for light, made a bench from compacted snow and had myself a\n"church!" Preaching to my friends and playmates was the logical thing\nto do, and of course, I led some of them to the Lord. They knelt down at that\nsnow bench and accepted Jesus Christ.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Well, what do you do when you first accept Jesus Christ? You\nhave to be baptized in water. In case you hadn't noticed, that's a problem when\nthe outside temperature is minus 20 degrees. So we waited until Spring. When\nthe temperatures began to warm and the snow began to melt mud puddles were the\nnatural result. As soon as the snow had sufficiently melted that we had some\nfairly deep mud puddles, I started baptizing my friends. We thought nothing of\nit! My friends' parents might have wondered at their coming home all soaking\nwet and covered in muddy water, but we never heard anything from it. And --\nafter all -- when I was baptized in water, it was in the Nome River in the\nearly summer when ice cakes were still floating in the river.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

You see, none of it makes any difference when you are obeying\nthe Word of the Lord and acting in faith! (OK, now you can smile!)<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

During\nthe past couple of weeks, Della and I have been discussing a trap we've seen\namong believers in which they get focused on the "facts" of their\nsituations and completely miss the promises God has made for us. People get\ncaught up with the pain, the suffering, the needs that they have and fail to\nappropriate for themselves the truth of what Jesus has said concerning their\nneeds, and what He has done.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Receiving\nour healing, our deliverance from oppression and our provision for every need\ncomes as we differentiate between the "facts on the ground" and the\nTruth.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

"The\nfacts on the ground" is a technical term often used by the military or by\npolice and security people. It refers to a state of acknowledgement of\nsituations as they presently  exist, or are unfolding in front of you. The\nsocieties of this earth have been bred and immersed with the philosophy that\nyou first acquire, then assess the facts; and then you make a decision based on\nthose facts.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In\ncertain situations -- in fact, in many of life's situations -- that philosophy\nworks. The problem is that this is not how we are or were designed by the Lord\nwhen we were first created, and for those who become "new creations"\nin Christ Jesus. Where it falls down and fails us is when we try to apply those\nprocesses to the things of the Spirit. Over the past twenty-plus years it has\nbecome more and more clear that, for us as believers who are being re-created\nand transformed into sons of God, heirs and joint-heirs with Jesus Christ, the\n"assess the facts and make a decision" philosophy comes straight out\nof eating from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Let\nme explain.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

"Truth"\ndoes not come by eating of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. The\nknowledge of "good" does not necessarily produce truth. In fact it\noften creates an arrogant and insensitive attitude. The knowledge of evil, on\nthe other hand, produces the Fear of Evil -- and that's a topic we won't try to\nexplore today because it would take us in a totally different direction.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

"Truth,"\nmy friends, is not a collection of facts. And yet it can be.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

"Truth"\nis neither the reciting of history, nor a compilation of events which have\noccurred. And yet it can be.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

"Truth"\nis not the quoting of scriptures. And yet it can be.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Facts.\nHistory. Scriptures. They can all be a portion of truth, but in and of\nthemselves, they are not<\/b> -- by any stretch of the imagination\n-- The Truth.<\/b><\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Facts\ncan be twisted by The Spirit of Error and become a lie. History can be\ndistorted -- and often is -- so that historical facts are taken out of context\nto present a false picture.  Personal experience, left to stand on its\nown, can bring wrong conclusions. Scriptures can be taken out of context and\nquoted to support virtually any stance one desires to take.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Truth,\ntherefore, is not just facts, history, personal experience, or scriptures.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Truth<\/span><\/b> -- the genuine\narticle -- can only come by the Spirit of Truth, which is one of the seven\nSpirits of God. The Spirit of Truth takes facts, takes history, takes events\nwhich have occurred -- either in our lives, or in the lives of others -- or,\ntakes verses of scripture and applies them in a manner which brings life. The\nSpirit of Truth takes that life and transmits it into the core of our beings.\nTruth comes by revelation -- NOT by the studious acquisition of\n"knowledge."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Truth<\/span><\/b> -- the very\nessence of Jesus' onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> --\nis that which He was clothed in. It was the life which went forth when He spoke\nthe worlds into existence. It was the spirit which went forth when He breathed\ninto man the breath of life.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Because\neverything He spoke was founded in Truth, there was an absoluteness to\neverything which occurred. The very foundations of the Universe rested upon\nthat Truth. Consider how Paul describes it as he opens up his general letter to\nthe Hebrews:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

"<\/span>[But]\nin the last of these days He has spoken to us in [the person of His] Son, Whom\nHe appointed Heir and<\/i> lawful Owner of all things, also\nby and<\/i> through Whom He created the worlds and<\/i> the\nreaches of space and<\/i> the ages of time [He made, produced,\nbuilt, operated, and arranged them in order].<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

"He is the sole\nexpression of the glory of God [the Light-being, the out-raying or radiance of\nthe divine], and He is the perfect imprint and<\/i> very image of\n[God\u2019s] nature, upholding and<\/i> maintaining and<\/i> guiding and<\/i> propelling\nthe universe by His mighty word of power<\/u>. When He had by offering\nHimself<\/i> accomplished our<\/i> cleansing of sins and<\/i> riddance\nof guilt, He sat down at the right hand of the divine Majesty on\nhigh." <\/span>(Hebrews\n11:1-3, Amplified Version)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Truth,\ntherefore, is a part of the invincible foundation of the Throne.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Consider these aspects.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Adam\nand Eve ate of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, and thus were separated\n(evicted, actually) from the Garden, and from their place of intimate\nrelationship with the Lord. That removal condemned their seed to being\nperpetually infected with the "Knowledge Virus," and with it, the\ndeath incorporated into its very essence.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Until\nJesus' birth, no human being on the face of the earth had ever been born who\nwas not infected. Jesus, by virtue of His spiritual genetics, although He was\nborn of a woman, did not carry in His flesh the proclivity for\n"knowledge."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Being\nborn of a woman qualified Him as a genuine member of the human race. Having the\ngenesis of the Holy Spirit in His DNA, He also had -- in His human form -- all\nof the qualities of His Throne in the Heavenlies<\/span>, and\nthe rulership<\/span> and authority which went with that\nplace of dominion. It was imperative -- for the sake of His Bride-to-be -- that\nthis dominion be worked in His being as a human. It was critical and necessary\nthat He put down the knowledge of good, and the knowledge of evil, and that He\nrule over the tendency of the flesh to be lured by the lust for knowledge.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

He\nmust of necessity squash "under His feet" human reasoning -- facts --\nand rationale by responding only to the dictates of His Father. And He did!\nJesus could therefore freely state,<\/span> <\/span>"I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I\nspeak these things. And He that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me\nalone; for I do always those things that please Him."<\/span> <\/span>(see\nJohn 8:28-29)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This\nword, "please," is of great significance in the Greek text. The word\nused here is: arestos<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>. We define arestos<\/i><\/span><\/b> <\/i><\/span>(which\ncomes from the root word, aresko<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>) as much more than just to please. It\nmeans:<\/span> <\/span>to be in agreement with; to accommodate one's\nself to the opinions, desires, and interests of (the intended individual).<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Hence,\n"to please" is not to merely acquiesce to someone's wishes and\ndesires -- even if you don't necessarily completely agree. Arestos<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> is to be in a place of complete unity and\nagreement, and to therefore "please," or "bring pleasure,"\nthrough the active fulfillment of those opinions, desires and interests.<\/span><\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Being\nin that place of complete unity and agreement with the Father meant that He was\nin complete agreement with the Throne of the Universe, and was therefore acting\non its behalf. As a result, He could walk and talk -- in human form -- and at\nthe same time function from the Throne, ruling, and overruling the flesh, the\nemotions, the lust for the knowledge of good and evil, that old serpent Satan,\nand every evil spirit pitted against Him.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus\nwalked as the personification of perfect agreement, perfect sumphoneo<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> -- perfect\naccord <\/b>-- with the Father, and with the Holy Spirit, Who would shortly\ncome to fulfill His bidding in the preparation of His long awaited Bride. How\ndid He do this? It was simple! Though He walked in human flesh, He lived<\/b><\/i> <\/b>in\nthe realm of the Spirit.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

That\nunion, that accord, that agreement -- that place of demonstrated authority --\nall existed because He lived<\/i><\/b> in the realm of the\nSpirit.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This,\nfolks, is the conundrum of so many Christians. We've been born again by the\nSpirit of God. In Christ Jesus, the "old us" hung on the Cross with\nHim. In Christ Jesus, the "old us" died, along with our sins and the\ncurse imprinted in our old DNA. When Jesus rose from the dead, we rose with\nHim. We were made alive with Father's DNA. We've talked about this repeatedly,\nbut let me share from the Greek text of Paul's statement from his letter to the\nRoman Ekklesia<\/span>: (See Romans 8:1-2)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

"Let me conclude what I've been saying by putting it this\nway; there are no adverse sentences or verdicts hanging over those who are IN\nthe anointing of the Anointed One, Jesus. For the Law (and principles) of the\nSpirit [the breath that God breathed into us when He raised us from the dead]\nof God's life in the anointing of the Anointed One, Jesus has liberated and\nexempted me (us) from the Law which decrees judgment and execution for the sins\nand offenses (willful and unpurposed<\/span>) resulting in\ndeath." <\/span>(RAC\nAmplification)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

You\nsee it now, don't you?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Then\nlet me illustrate what I'm saying with a humorous illustration from and<\/span> event that happened many years ago when Bob Mumford was\ninvited to perform a wedding for a young couple.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The\nwedding went off without a hitch. The ceremony was perfect, the bride was\nelegant, the groom swept her off her feet with a kiss when Bob said, "I\nnow pronounce you husband and wife." The resulting clamor from the guests\nin attendance slowed the couple from exiting the church.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Amidst\na hail of rice and shouts from the guests, they finally made it out the front\ndoor to the front steps of the church. The waiting limousine driver saw them\nand opened the door of the vehicle for them. Making their way down the long\nstaircase to the sidewalk, the bride paused to gather the long train of her\nwedding dress. The groom stood there for a minute taking everything in, trying\nto absorb the transformation that had just taken place and then said to his new\nbride, "Honey, I don't feel married yet."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

You\ncan imagine the look on her face. She responded quickly and said, "Then,\nSweetheart, you'd better adjust your feelings to fit the facts -- and the\ntruth! We're married!"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

So\nit is with many Christians. The past life with its sins, its mistakes, its\nhaving been subject to sickness, infirmity, disease, poverty and death has been\neradicated. The past life has been put to death. We've been raised from the\ndead. The "new us" has Father's DNA, and that DNA is not subject to\nthe Law of Sin and Death.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The\nfact that we've been redeemed from sin and now have access to eternal life in\nChrist Jesus registers somewhat for most believers. The fact that we are no\nlonger subject to sickness, disease, infirmity, poverty and dying still has a\nlong way to go to register in our consciousness. We've become so\n"fact" oriented that we fail to see and hear and receive the truth!\nWe've tried to adjust the truth to fit our feelings and our circumstances\ninstead of realizing that we are continuing to eat from the Tree of the\nKnowledge of Good and Evil.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Just\nbecause a person is fighting with cancer doesn't mean they have to accept the\nprognosis of the medical profession. Just because someone has Alzheimer's, or\narthritis or heart problems doesn't mean that those issues have finality in\ntheir lives. These things are all a product of the environment in which we\nlive, the corrupted diets and foods we eat and a host of other things over\nwhich we have been given spiritual authority. It's time for us as Christians to\nbegin to speak the truth about ourselves and stop speaking the facts about our\nsituations as though those facts were the truth.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Isaiah,\nseeing into the future, prophesied of Jesus: <\/span>"But he was<\/i> wounded for our\ntransgressions, he was<\/i> bruised for our iniquities: the\nchastisement of our peace was<\/i> upon him; and with his \nstripes we are healed." <\/span>(Isaiah 53:5)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Isaiah\nsaw the healing as something taking place in the present -- and that was some\n700 years before Jesus actually went to the Cross.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Here's\nhow Peter puts it, however: <\/span>"Who his own self\nbare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should\nlive unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed."<\/span>  <\/span>(I Peter 2:24)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Peter\nputs it in a finished context. Our healing has already been finished. That's\nthe truth! It's time for us to change our confession to agree with the Word!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
