ANOTHER COFFEE BREAK: APHIEMI HEALING, Part 30<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>

May 16, 2014<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

A quick note before we get started today: due to increased\nfamily activities on Fridays with the encroaching summer, more and more people\nare finding Friday nights an issue to join us for our Healing Prayer Call.\nAccordingly, we are temporarily suspending our Friday night calls until the\nneed requires its resumption. Meanwhile, we continue to minister to folks on\nMondays and Wednesday nights at 7:00 PM Eastern (4:00 PM Pacific).<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

For\nmonths, now, we've been focusing on healing, on the Table of the Lord as it\nrelates to healing, and to the Covenant that Jesus Christ made on our behalf\nwhich is demonstrated so effectively and so phenomenally with His Table. I'd\nlike to take another crack today at describing this Covenant we have in Christ,\nwith Christ, and the co-equal benefits we (both Jesus and us as Covenanted\nbelievers) receive.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Let\nme begin today by saying that if Jesus Christ is going to get His benefits from\nthe covenant He has made with us and on our behalf, we MUST become His co-equal\npartners. I keep saying this, and it is at the center of all covenants: those\nwho enter into covenant regard each other as co-equal. Covenant shores up our\nweaknesses. I know some folks have a struggle with the idea that Jesus has any\nweaknesses -- and from our perspective, He absolutely does not. From Jesus'\nviewpoint, however, until we have been transformed and conformed to His image\nand likeness, He is incomplete, lacking, and minus His counterpart, His other\nself.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Perhaps\nI can render this another way. Covenant completes us. Jesus has made Himself to\nbe incomplete without us. (I will get to that picture in a moment.) We are,\nwithout  doubt, incomplete without Him!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Jesus\nfulfilled both parts of the Covenant -- His part as the provider and enforcer,\nand our part, which required the shedding of blood for the remission (aphi\u00e9mi<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>:<\/i><\/b> eradication)\nof all past sins, iniquities, failings, etc., and -- more than that -- the\ncurse that brought about sin, sickness, disease, infirmity and demonic\naffliction. In his general  letter to the Hebrews (the Jews scattered\nabroad), Paul expressed it this way.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

"Who being the brightness of his<\/i> glory,\nand the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of\nhis power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the\nright hand of the Majesty on high<\/u>."<\/span> (Hebrews 1:3. KJV)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

"<\/span> <\/span>But this\nman, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on\nthe right hand of God<\/u>, From henceforth expecting till <\/span>his<\/span> <\/span>enemies<\/span> be made <\/span>his<\/span> <\/span>footstool.<\/span>" <\/span>(Hebrews 10:12-13, KJV)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

This\nphrase, "sat down," is an expressive metaphor from the Hebrew meaning\nthat He finished everything that He needed to finish and fulfill on our behalf.\nThe expectation that His enemies would be made "His footstool" was\nHis expectation that we would do our part, empowered by Him, to defeat those\nenemies. Perhaps we can get into this a bit more as this discussion proceeds.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Where\nI want to take today's discussion is to show you the concept -- from Jesus'\nperspective -- of His being made complete in us. That, my friends, is what\nbeing co-equal is all about. That is what THIS covenant was ordained for.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Take\na look at something that Paul writes in his epistle to the Romans.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

"For those whom He [the Father] could foresee and know\n[their choices and decisions] beforehand, He also did ordain and determine to\nbecome jointly formed and fashioned into the image and likeness of His Son, so\nthat He might be first begotten son among a multitude of brothers and sisters.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFurthermore, those whom He ordained and determined [by virtue\nof knowing in advance their choices and decisions] He also called, beckoning\nthem in their inner beings; and those whom He called, He also determined and\ndeclared to be innocent [rendering judgment of them beforehand]; and those whom\nHe determined and declared to be innocent, He made glorious [magnifying them as\nHe magnified His Son].<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhat shall we say, then, regarding these facts? If God the\nFather be for us, having made these determinations on our behalf, who can\npossibly succeed in opposing and withstanding us?"<\/span>(Romans 8:29-31, my\ntranslation with amplification)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Now\nare you beginning to get the picture? Do you see where we stand with the\nFather? Do you see where we stand with Jesus Christ?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

God\nthe Father has determined to have for Himself a family. He -- in concert with\nJesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit -- made this determination before\nCreation ever unfolded. If you take the concept of family, you understand that\nyou WILL have an older brother who is the firstborn. But that older brother is\ngoing to have younger brothers and sisters; and those brothers and sisters have\nall the same rights of inheritance and access to the resources and assets of\nthe family that the older brother has access to.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The\nolder brother's position gives him some rights of determination and delegative<\/span> authority on behalf of the younger family\nmembers, but positionally<\/span> he is treated as co-equal\nwith his brothers and sisters. All of the siblings have equal access to, and use\nof the family resources, along with the family's authority and power by virtue\nof their extreme wealth.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Put\nthat in context, now, to Jesus Christ as our older brother. Consider His\nstatement to the disciples as He prepared to leave them:<\/span> <\/span><\/i><\/b>"All (<\/span>exousia<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>) privilege, force,\nauthority, power and jurisdiction is given unto me in Heaven and in earth. You\ngo, therefore, [by virtue of your relationship to and with me] and disciple,\ninstruct and teach all nations, tribes and ethnic groups and peoples, immersing\nthem in the (<\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>) character, the makeup, the power and authority -- the very\nessence -- of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: teaching them\nto observe, guard and protect all that I have charged you with [in every\nrespect, without compromise or redaction]; and take notice of the fact that (<\/span>eimi<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>) [all that] I am [have\nbeen, and ever will be -- the totality of my existence] with you, even unto the\nfinal and total completion of this age. So be it!"<\/span> <\/span>(Matthew\n28:18-20, my translation with amplification)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus,\ntherefore, was commissioning His disciples to go forth in, with, and through\nALL of the power and authority that He had -- and Brother, was that ever SOME\npower and authority! Look at what Mark records concerning this same event.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

"[All of] you go into every area and segment of the world\nand proclaim, herald, declare and preach the good news [that I have given you]\nto every single creature. He that believes, implicitly trusts in, exercises\nfaith, and is immersed [in the character, makeup and essence of the Father, the\nSon and the Holy Spirit]] shall be saved, healed, delivered, preserved, caused\nto prosper, and made completely whole; but he who disbelieves [refusing to\ntrust in and exercise faith] shall receive sentence and judgment [according to\nthe Law].<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

"And these<\/span> (<\/span><\/i><\/b>semeion<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>) <\/span>distinguishing\nsigns, evidences, wonders and proofs [of my commission to you, and your\nrelationship to and with me] shall accompany and closely follow you: In my<\/span>(<\/span><\/i><\/b>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>) <\/span><\/i><\/b>character, makeup, power and authority -- the very essence of\nwho I am -- they shall cast out demons (evil spirits); they shall speak with\nfresh new [and previously unlearned] languages and tongues; they shall take on\n(serpents) artful, cunning and malicious persons whose arguments cannot and\nwill not dissuade; should they drink or partake of any deadly, poisonous thing,\nit shall not hurt or injure them in any way; they shall lay hands on the sick,\nthe infirm, those who are weak and without strength; and they shall recover,\nmend, and see their infirmities cease."<\/span> <\/span>(Mark 16:15-18, my\ntranslation with amplification)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

No\npromise or prophecy of the Lord could better describe our co-equal status.\nThese are the distinguishing signs and evidences that followed and accompanied\nJesus. Fully one-third of all the miracles that Jesus performed as recorded in\nthe Gospels incorporate the casting out of demons, as Jesus exercised the\nauthority that was His to exercise.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The\nremaining two-thirds of His recorded miracles include the raising of the dead,\nhealing of the sick and infirm, cleansing the lepers, commanding the weather,\ncommanding plant-life such as trees, walking through walls, disappearing in the\nmidst of crowds, taking on the<\/b> Serpent following his 40-day\nfast, along with other (serpents) artful, cunning and malicious Scribes and\nPharisees whose legalistic and twisted demonic arguments from Scripture could\nnot and would not dissuade Him, and -- surprise, surprise! -- remitting the\nsins of people even before He had gone to the Cross.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

I've\nalways been a bit amused at folks who think that Jesus was advocating the\nhandling of snakes. EVERYTHING He prophesied of and to "them that\nbelieve" was a demonstration of exactly what He had accomplished and\nfulfilled during His three-and-a-half years. Jesus never handled snakes, but He\nDID take on serpents -- regularly! He referred to the Scribes, Pharisees and\nSadducees on more than one occasion as a <\/span>"generation\nof vipers,"<\/span> meaning\nof course that their lives, their motivations and their speech were artfully\ncrafted to manipulate people and lead them into further legalistic bondage,\naway from the relationship with God purposed from the beginning.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Everything,\ntherefore, that Jesus promised to and prophesied of His followers was something\nthey had a proof text for in His life and ministry.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

I\nknow that some folks have tried to become so technically picky (legalistically\nartful and manipulative) with the Scripture as to suggest that these\n"signs" and evidentiary proofs of the<\/span> <\/span>"Lord working with them and confirming the Word with signs\nfollowing"<\/span> <\/span>(Mark 16:20) applied ONLY to the\napostles and disappeared shortly after the turn of the century.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

These\nsame doubters and unbelievers promote the idea that apostles and prophets died\nout in that same time frame, and that Paul's statements in I Corinthians and\nEphesians are to be ignored because the body of Christ has already <\/span>"come to the unity of the faith,"<\/span> <\/span>having\nbeen perfected at the Cross.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

It\nreally is one of the looniest doctrines I've ever heard. It defies any\nrationale concerning Paul's preaching on apostles and prophets roughly 30 years\nafter Jesus ascended, and forces one to dismiss whole portions of God's Word if\nthey are to believe such nonsense. Those who "artfully craft" and\n"maliciously use" God's Word so as to seduce believers and keep them\nfrom their full covenant benefits are nothing more than a modern\n"generation of vipers."<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

If we\nare seated with Christ<\/u><\/b> in heavenly places -- as Paul writes in\nEphesians 1:20-23,<\/span> <\/span>"Far\nabove all principality, and power, and might and dominion, and every name <\/span>(onoma<\/span>) <\/span><\/i><\/b>that is named, not only\nin this world but that which is to come: and hath put all things under His\nfeet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to the Ekklesia<\/span>\n(not church) -- that called out and betrothed company of people by the\nBridegroom -- which is His body, the fullness of Him that filleth<\/span>\nall in all,"<\/span> <\/span>then we most certainly ARE co-equal\nwith Jesus Christ!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

When\nhave you ever seen a body-less head accomplish anything? When have you ever\nseen a headless body accomplish anything?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

NOW\ndo you understand covenant?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

We've\nbeen fitted together and joined together with Jesus Christ as a living,\nbreathing extension of Him. If you'll pardon the rather oversimplification, He\nis us, and we are Him. Whatever He does, He does through us. Things don't\nhappen without our participation. Jesus Christ does not randomly, mystically,\nperform miracles in the earth, or work some kind of sign and wonder in the\nearth without the direct participation of His covenant people.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We\nhave and live a covenant that requires our all. Jesus has made a covenant with\nus that requires His all -- and the last time I checked, He hadn't left\nanything out or stopped His covenant partners from living in, and operating in\nall that He is and has.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Folks,\nHis covenant is as alive and breathing today as it was when He said,<\/span> <\/span>"All<\/span> <\/span><\/i><\/b>(exousia<\/span>)<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span><\/i><\/b>privilege, force, authority, power and jurisdiction is given\nunto me in Heaven and in earth. You go, therefore.." .<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

That's\nOUR responsibility. Our covenant responsibility to the Lord is to do the works\nthat He did, to preach the Word that He preached, and -- moreover -- to fulfill\nHis prophetic Word,<\/span><\/o:p>\n<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

"Truly, of a surety, I declare to you, He who puts their\n full faith and credit in me, entrusting their entire well being to me, shall\n not only take care of my business, performing the same acts, deeds and\n [miraculous] works that I do, he shall enlarge upon them, working and\n accomplishing greater, stronger, more powerful [and magnificent] acts and deeds\n because (and by reason of) I leave to join with [and be seated with] my Father.<\/span>\n <\/o:p>\n<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

"And whatever [deed, act or work you have seen and heard of\n me] you desire, call for or require in My<\/span> <\/span>(onoma<\/i><\/span>)<\/span><\/b> <\/span>authority, makeup, nature or essence, that will I perform and\n accomplish so that the Father will be rendered and esteemed glorious, being\n magnified in and through the fully matured and patterned Son." <\/span>(John 14:12-13, my\n translation and amplification)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Finally,\nfinishing up with some Scriptures we used last week:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Ephesians\n1:18-23<\/span><\/u><\/b> (NASB): <\/span>"I pray that<\/i> the eyes of your heart may be\nenlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are\nthe riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the\nsurpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are<\/i> in\naccordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about\nin Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right\nhand in the heavenly places<\/i>,<\/u> <\/i>far above all rule and\nauthority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in\nthis age but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under\nHis feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body,\nthe fullness of Him who fills all in all."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Ephesians\n2:4-7<\/span><\/u><\/b> (NASB): <\/span>"But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love\nwith which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us\nalive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised\nus up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places<\/i> in\nChrist Jesus<\/u>, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing\nriches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Do\nyou see where this leads?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

We've\nbeen seated IN CHRIST and with Him in the Heavenlies<\/span>.\nThat's our legal position! Jesus paid the necessary -- COVENANT -- price so\nthat we would once again have access to the Throne with all the authority and\npower necessary to make Jesus' enemies His footstool.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
