ANOTHER COFFEE BREAK: APHIEMI HEALING, Part 32<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>

May 30, 2014<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Della caught an "OOPS!" in part 30 that got past me,\nand it seemed like a good idea to start today by correcting that misstatement.\nI said, "Jesus fulfilled both parts of the Covenant -- His part as\nthe provider and enforcer, and our part, which required the shedding of blood\nfor the remission<\/i><\/span><\/b> (aphi\u00e9mi<\/span><\/b><\/span>:<\/b> eradication) of all past sins<\/u>, iniquities, failings,\netc., and -- more than that -- the curse that brought about sin, sickness,\ndisease, infirmity and demonic affliction."<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/i><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Here's the "OOPS!" When Jesus eradicated sin and\nerased it completely it wasn't just past sins. As noted in previous Coffee\nBreaks, when I was transported back in time (in the realm of the spirit) to the\nfoot of the Cross, all of the sins throughout time -- past, present and future\n-- were converging on the Cross just like a huge black tornado. All that sin\nconverged in Jesus, and He died taking those sins with Himself and depositing\nthem at Satan's feet.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The point is that when we are in Christ<\/u>, "old\nthings have passed away, and behold ALL things are become new!" When we\nblow it as Christians and fail in some way or another, the Law of Sin and Death\nhas already been canceled for us. We have been set free from that Law and all\nthe penalties that accompany it -- as far as our spirits are concerned -- by\nthe Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus!<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

That doesn't mean there aren't consequences that follow us for\nacts we may have committed before we have come to Jesus and entered into the\nNew Covenant He made with us. Neither does it negate consequences for acts that\nwe may knowingly or unwittingly commit AFTER we have entered into this\nCovenant. Transformation is a process that we are all in the midst of, once we\ncome to Jesus, and that transformation incorporates our minds, our thoughts,\nour thought processes, and our physical bodies.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus paid the entire price for that transformation and renewal.\nWe simply need to appropriate it for ourselves and stop allowing Satan to\ncondemn us for any subsequent or ongoing failures in the midst of this process.\nHe wants to beat us up with them and try to convince us that we are no longer\nrighteous in God's sight because of those shortcomings.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

At the same time, our freedom from the Law of Sin and Death does\nnot justify or make OK our continuance in sins, shortcomings and failures. John\nput it like this in his first general letter to the body of Christ <\/span><\/b>(see I John 2:1-2\nwith my clarification):<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

"<\/span><\/b>My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin\nnot. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the\nrighteous: And He is the propitiation (covering with mercy) for our sins, and\nnot for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Wow!\nDidn't mean to get so wordy with that correction, but as Della pointed out in\nreading my statement, that was simply too much of an oversimplification.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Anyway,\ntime to get on with today's discussion.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Consider\nthis statement in the light of Paul\u2019s comment to the Ephesians (2:1-2): <\/span>And you hath he quickened<\/i>, who were dead in\ntrespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the\ncourse of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air<\/u>,\nthe spirit that now worketh<\/span> in the children of\ndisobedience:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Then\nwe have Jesus\u2019 statements as He was teaching:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

John\n12:31<\/span><\/b>: <\/span>Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince\nof this world be cast out<\/u>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

John\n14:30<\/span><\/b>: <\/span>Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince\nof this world cometh, and hath nothing in me<\/u>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

John\n16:8-11<\/span><\/b>: <\/span>And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of\nrighteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of\nrighteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of\njudgment, because the prince of this world is judged<\/u>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Three\ntimes we see Jesus use this phrase <\/span>\u201cthe prince of this\nworld.\u201d<\/span> When\nyou juxtapose that statement against Paul\u2019s description that Satan is <\/span>\u201cthe prince of the power of the air,\u201d<\/span> and we go back\nto the Greek term, ouranos<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>,\nwhich describes <\/span>\u201cthe over-arching and all-embracing\nheaven beneath which is the earth and all that is therein,\u201d<\/span> <\/span><\/i>we have a very clear picture of where and how demonic powers\noperate.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Their\ndomain is \u201cthe second heaven.\u201d Consider the exactness of the phrasing in the\nGreek text of the three verses in John 12, 14 and 16. Jesus NEVER describes\nSatan as being  \u201cthe prince of the world.\u201d Instead He uses the phrase<\/span> <\/span>\u00ea\u00fc\u00f3\u00ec\u00ef\u00f2<\/span><\/b><\/span> \u00f4\u00ef\u00fd\u00f4\u00ef\u00f5<\/span><\/span><\/b> <\/span>(kosmos<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> toutou<\/span><\/span><\/i><\/b>): the\nprince of <\/span>\u201c<\/span><\/i>this\npresent arrangement of the world\u201d<\/span> \u2013 a phrase which is totally time\ndependent and indicates a space of time and order to which Satan has been given\ndelegated authority.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Remember\nhow David put it? (See Psalm 115:16) <\/span>The heaven, even<\/i> the\nheavens, are<\/i> the LORD\u2019S: but the earth hath He given to the\nchildren of men.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The\nheavens \u2013 plural \u2013 all three of them (the original, the present, and the\nfuture) \u2013 are the Lord\u2019s. Satan\u2019s purpose from day One has been to steal those\nheavens from the Lord and use them to torment the people of God.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

It\nmay seem rather academic, but you\u2019ll notice that Satan is NEVER referred to as\n\u201cthe King of this present world.\u201d Jesus always refers to him in the lower sense\nas an archon<\/span><\/i><\/b>: prince. The\nmore accurate translation of that Greek word would be <\/span>\u201cmagistrate.\u201d<\/span> <\/span><\/i>A magistrate has\npermission to exercise power and authority within certain proscribed\nboundaries.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s\ntake this discussion the next step. We know from Paul\u2019s letter to Timothy that\nJesus Christ has the title \u201cKing of Kings.\u201d (See I Timothy 6:15) In fact, three\ntimes in the New Testament, Jesus is referred to as \u201cKing of Kings and Lord of\nLords.\u201d This may be completely academic, but who are the \u201ckings\u201d He is King of?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Revelation\n1:4-6<\/span><\/b>: <\/span>Grace be<\/i> unto you, and peace, from him which\nis, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are\nbefore his throne; And from Jesus Christ, who is<\/i> the\nfaithful witness, and<\/i> the first begotten of the dead, and the\nprince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from\nour sins in his own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God\nand his Father<\/u>; to him be<\/i> glory and dominion forever and\never. Amen.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Revelation\n5:9-10<\/span><\/b>: <\/span>And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the\nbook, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast<\/span>\nslain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and\ntongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and\npriests: and we shall reign on the earth.<\/u><\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

That\nbeing the case, where do we stand in the hierarchy of Heaven? As kings, princes\nare subject to us. Go back to David\u2019s statement in Psalm 115:16: <\/span>The heaven, even<\/i> the heavens, are<\/i> the\nLORD\u2019S: but the earth hath He given to the children of men.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The\nearth hath He given to the children of men! That\u2019s US!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Stop\nand consider once again the legal concept of the first heaven, the second\nheaven, and the third heaven. We know from both from Genesis 7:21-23 and\nPeter\u2019s second epistle (II Peter 3:5-6) that the first heaven and first earth\nperished. In terms of the time frame for this event, it took place AFTER Adam\u2019s\nfall and eviction from the Garden of Eden. It took place AFTER Satan was cast\ninto the earth.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

With\nNoah and his family began the second heaven and second earth. That is the\nheaven and earth that presently exist. It exists within a proscribed time frame\nwhich has an end date:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

II\nPeter 3:10-13<\/span><\/b>: <\/span>But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in\nthe which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements\nshall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein\nshall be burned up. Seeing<\/i> then that<\/i> all\nthese things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons<\/i> ought\nye to be in all<\/i> holy conversation and godliness, Looking for\nand hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on\nfire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless\nwe, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth<\/span> righteousness<\/u>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Revelation\n21:1<\/span><\/b>: <\/span>And I saw a new heaven and a new earth<\/span><\/u>: for the first<\/span> (protos<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>: <\/span>foremost, present, former<\/span>) <\/span>heaven\nand the first<\/span> (protos<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>: <\/span>foremost, present,  former<\/span>) <\/span>earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Why\nmake this point again? Because Jesus three times described Satan as the \u201cprince\nof \u201cthis present arrangement of the world.\u201d He\u2019s not a king. His power only\noperates as  men and women give him that right. Sin gives him a right to\noperate \u2013 and even then there are limitations to that right.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

All\nof the \u201cprincipalities and powers, the world rulers of darkness and\nthose who practice and exercise spiritual wickedness in the heavenlies<\/span>\u201d <\/b>are\ntotally under our dominion. They have no authority which even measures up to\nthat which we\u2019ve been given. We are the ones to whom the earth has been given.\nSatan\u2019s only sphere of operation is \u201cthe air.\u201d In fact, here\u2019s how Jesus put it\nto the disciples when He sent them out to preach the Kingdom:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Luke\n10:17-20 (NASB)<\/span><\/b>: <\/span>The seventy returned with joy, saying, \u201cLord, even the demons\nare subject to us in Your name.\u201d And He said to them, \u201cI was watching Satan\nfall from heaven like lightning. Behold, I have given you authority to tread on\nserpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will\ninjure you.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

"Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are\nsubject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Some\nof our English translations read \u201cBehold I give unto you power to tread on\nserpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy.\u201d The problem is\nthat you have two distinctly different words translated \u201cpower.\u201d The Greek text\nuses the word exousia<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/i>(<\/span>authority, right, permission<\/span>) in the first\ninstance and dunamis<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> (<\/span>force, power, might, ability<\/span>) in the second.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Satan\nis never identified as having exousia<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> anywhere in Scripture.\nHe has dunamis<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> but\nnot authority. That is something we have, and we have the responsibility to\ndeprive Satan of his power, to diminish it in every instance where we see it\noperating.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

You\nunderstand the difference, don't you? Authority always transcends and\nsupersedes power. Authority has the ability, the responsibility and right to\nexercise power. Power without authority is meaningless. You may get away with\nexercising power for a time, but the final authority over that power can negate\nthe effects of power exercised without authority. (I could make a comment here\nwith regard to our present political administration, but I think I will avoid\nit for the time being.)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Demonic\nprinces are under our authority. Demonic magistrates are under our authority.\nDemonic foot soldiers are under our authority. Satan himself is regarded \u2013\nlegally \u2013 as being under our feet.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Psalm\n110:1-3<\/span><\/b>: <\/span>The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I\nmake thine<\/span> enemies thy footstool. The LORD shall send\nthe rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine<\/span> enemies. Thy people shall be<\/i> willing\nin the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the\nmorning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Hebrews\n10:12-14<\/span><\/b>: <\/span>But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins\nforever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his\nenemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever\nthem that are sanctified.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Lord shall send forth the rod of thy strength out of Zion.\u201d<\/span> That\u2019s us,\nfolks! Zion. The Bride! We are expected to make Jesus\u2019 enemies His footstool \u2013\nand that\u2019s exactly what we\u2019re going to do! Consider the following prophecy of\nIsaiah:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and\nthe government shall be upon his shoulder<\/u>: and his name shall be called\nWonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of\nPeace. Of the increase of his<\/i> government and peace there\nshall be<\/i> no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to\norder it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth\neven forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this."<\/span> (Isaiah 9:6-7)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

You\nget it, don't you? If the government is upon His shoulder, He is the Head and\nwe are the Body, then He has specifically given the responsibility to see to\nthe government (and the governments of the earth) to us as His people. The\n"government" of course is the presiding authority over the earth.\n(See again, Psalm 115:16)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Since\nthere are demonic princes who exercise their power over cities, over states,\nover regions, and over nations, if we permit them to continue their activities\nand their interference with God's plan, then we get what we deserve.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Sorry\nto put it that way, but that's the truth, folks!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Let\nme wrap up today by saying -- in keeping with this series on healing -- that\nwhen we don't exercise the authority we have being seated IN CHRIST over\ndisease, sickness,  infirmity, or captivity to things that we associate\nwith aging such as Alzheimer's, Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS), various kinds of\narthritis, etc., etc., then we get the consequences.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

We\nall understand that when we've not exercised the authority we do have, it's not\nany different than a lack of physical exercise with accompanying weakness. I'm\nnot sharing these things to point fingers at anyone or condemn Christians for\nnot exercising the authority we have in Christ Jesus. My desire is to show you\nthat it's time for us to start exercising and begin to work our "authority\nmuscles" so that they become strong!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
