ANOTHER COFFEE BREAK: APHIEMI HEALING, Part 27<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>

April 25, 2014<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

In case you're wondering where #26 went to, because it still was\nso much a part of the flow of this continued teaching, I decided to incorporate\nlast week's Easter or Resurrection in the Aphiemi<\/span>\nHealing series as #26.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The healing calls continue to see results, and the warfare\nagainst those of us involved has only intensified. George has been under\nrepeated attack from the Enemy with physical issues, Monty has had to endure\nsome of the same, and Dwain is still recovering from the rebuilding of his\nshoulder. Nevertheless we rejoice in the healings we are seeing.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

This past week we ministered to Joe, a 10-year-old boy who was\nsuffering with intense heart malfunction issues, along with a barely\nfunctioning kidney. When we began to pray for him, the pain in his chest\nimmediately jumped to a 10 level (on a scale from 1 - 10). He began to cry out\nbecause of the pain. We knew the Enemy was simply trying to counterattack and\nwe stayed with it, even declaring a new heart for Joe from the \"body parts\nroom\" in Heaven. After some extended prayer, the pain virtually\ndisappeared in his chest and suddenly hit him in his kidneys. Again we\ncommanded healing to his kidney and to his entire body. The pain did not\nsubside in his kidneys so long as we had him in our prayer call, but when he\nleft the call, the pain began to diminish.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Joe's mother reported that by the time he went to bed, the pain\nhad diminished to a level 4 and kept subsiding. By the time he awoke the next\nmorning, although he still had some discomfort, the pain was completely gone.\nHis mother is declaring that he is completely healed, and we are absolutely in\nagreement. Jesus paid for Joe's healing with the 39 stripes He took with the\ncat-o-nine-tails (amounting to an actual total of 351 lashes that ripped his\nbody to shreds). From our perspective, Jesus deserves to get what He paid for\non Joe's behalf! Right?<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Back in\nMarch, I started to deal with a different area of healing -- that of the mind,\nthe emotions and the trauma that seems to last psychologically in people year\nafter year after year, even though they may actually forget the event that\ninitially caused the emotional or mental trauma. We were talking about the Gadarene<\/span> demoniac and the rather remarkable revelation that\ncomes in reading the Greek text of this event in Mark 5.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

To repeat\na bit of what I shared back then, each time the word \"tomb\" occurs the Greek\nword is:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00ec\u00ed\u00e7\u00ec\u00e5s\u00ef\u00ed<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>-<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>mnemeion<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>This word may not strike an immediate chord for\nsome folks, but we have a word in the English language which is a direct\nderivative of the Greek:\u00a0mnemonics<\/i>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Webster's\nUnabridged Dictionary defines\u00a0mnemonics<\/i>\u00a0like this:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>The science or art of improving the memory, as by the use\nof certain formulas; aids to help in remembering<\/span><\/b>.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The Greek\nword,\u00a0mnemion<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>,<\/b><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>is drawn\nfrom Greek mythology and comes from the name of the goddess Mnemosyne \u2013 the\nmythological mother of Zeus, and the deity (actually, demonic entity) who\ncaused people to retain memories of past events.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Mnemion<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>, therefore, literally means:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>a remembrance; a monument or marker which causes a recall\nof the past<\/span><\/b>.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

J.H.\nThayer, in his Greek-English Lexicon, adds:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>a visible monument\nto the past, a visible marker for preserving a memorial of a person, a thing,\nor some past event<\/span><\/b>.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

By now,\nit should become obvious why the Gadarene<\/span> demoniac\nwas so tormented. He literally re-lived his past failures, the betrayals of his\npast, events which had traumatized his thoughts, his feelings and his emotions.\nHe lived every day being reminded of how he had been either mistreated,\nsexually abused (the word \"unclean\" in the Greek text implies this directly) or\nbelittled \u2013 and he was tormented by spirits of fear which literally drove him\ninsane.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

It has\nalways fascinated me that despite the fact that the man of Gadara was tormented\nby a legion of evil spirits (once again, describing a legion as 6,600 foot\nsoldiers and 172 horse-drawn charioteers with bows, arrows and spears), even in\nthe place of his torment and being tossed to and fro by evil spirits, he still\nhad presence of mind to throw himself at Jesus' feet, knowing instinctively\nthat his deliverance was available and at hand because of who Jesus is.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

This is\none of the reasons I don't like to use the common expression of being\n\"demon possessed.\" In fact, there is no such phrase in the Greek\ntext. That expression suggests that a person is \"owned\" totally by\nthe demons. I grant you that I have run into some folks who come as close to\nthat expression as you want to see, but they still have their own will, and --\nlike the man of Gadara -- still have the ability to come to Jesus for\ndeliverance no matter how much the indwelling evil spirits try to obstruct or\nprevent it.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The Greek\nword, often translated \"possessed with\" in the NT, is<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>daimonizomai<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>, and it more literally\nmeans:\u00a0to be vexed with a demon, to be tormented by, to be afflicted\nby, or, to be demonized<\/u>. Nothing in this word supports the idea of\nownership.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Now,\nlet's get to some scriptures that get right to the heart of this area of mental\nand emotional healing. You understand, of course, that ALL of this comes under\nthe area of aphiemi<\/span> healing! Jesus didn't just pay\nfor our physical healing and\/or our deliverance from evil spirits: He paid for our\nemotional and mental healing as well. He eradicated completely every legal\nreason Satan tries to use against us to justify his hold over our mind and our\nemotions.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Isaiah\nprophesied of Jesus (See Isaiah 53:5<\/u><\/b>):<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\"But he\u00a0was<\/i>\u00a0wounded for our transgressions,\u00a0he\nwas<\/i>\u00a0bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace\u00a0was<\/i>\u00a0upon\nhim; and with his stripes we are healed.\"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Let me\namplify this verse for you out of the Hebrew text:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\"But He was broken and profaned for our rebellion, our\nrevolt, our apostasy and our [religious] quarrel against God; He was mentally\ncrushed, oppressed and smitten, and emotionally broken into pieces for our\nperversity, our evil, our mischief, sins and faults; the breaking and\nridiculing of our peace, our welfare, our prosperity, our health and our safety\nwas upon Him; and with His bloodied and blue wounds\u00a0we are cured,\nmended, repaired and made thoroughly whole<\/u>.\"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

When\nJesus began His ministry, he preached from Isaiah 61:1-3.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\"The Spirit of the Lord GOD\u00a0is<\/i>\u00a0upon me;\nbecause the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath\nsent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and\nthe opening of the prison to\u00a0them that are<\/i>\u00a0bound; To proclaim\nthe acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to\ncomfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto\nthem beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for\nthe spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the\nplanting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.\"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

In Luke\n4:18-19, we are told that Jesus quotes this very passage from Isaiah's prophecy\nas He begins His public ministry in the town of Nazareth. Reading this in\nHebrew gives us much clearer understanding of what Jesus was saying.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

After\nstating clearly that the Spirit of the Lord was anointing Him, He begins\ndescribing the ministry He's about to begin by saying that He was specifically\nanointed to proclaim and preach joyous news to and for those who were in a\nstate of mental depression. The Hebrew word,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>'anayv<\/span><\/span><\/i><\/b>, literally translates to: depressed in mind and\ncircumstances.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Next,\nJesus states that He has been sent to bind up the brokenhearted. Here, we have\nthe Hebrew,\u00a0shabar<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>,\nwhich means:\u00a0to burst, to break down, to crush, to quench<\/u>\u00a0(one's\nheart or innermost being).<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Then He\ndescribes His ministry as being sent to proclaim liberty to those who have been\nheld captive. The word in Hebrew is<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>shebiy<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>, and it describes:\u00a0one who has been taken\ninto captivity or held in bondage -- whether spiritually, mentally, emotionally\nor physically<\/u>. This is a perfect description of the ministry of\ndeliverance, and it represents fully one-third of all the recorded miracles in\nthe Gospels.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The next\nstatement may seem self-evident when He says that He came to open the prison to\nthem that are bound, but there's a lot more to this than the setting free from\nphysical fetters. Jesus is describing the captivity to death that every human\nborn into this world experiences because of sin. He makes it clear that His objective\nwas to break the bonds of death, and with it, sickness, disease, infirmity,\nphysical afflictions of every sort.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Paul\naffirms this in Hebrews 9:27-28 when he writes,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after\nthis the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and\nunto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto\nsalvation.\"<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Paul makes clear with this statement that Jesus\nkept our appointment with death, thus negating the need for us to die.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus now\nmakes clear in His next statement that He had come to \"proclaim the\nacceptable year of the Lord\" as well as the day \"of vengeance.\"\nFolks often mistake these as being one and the same day, but they misapply the\nHebrew terms in this case. When Jesus says He has come to proclaim the\nacceptable year of the Lord, that's not some future, far-off date. That's not\nthe day of the \"judgment seat of Christ.\" Here's how Paul puts it in\nwriting to the Corinthians as he quotes from Isaiah's prophecy (Isaiah 49:8):<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\"(For He saith<\/span>, I have heard thee\nin a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured<\/span>\nthee: behold,\u00a0now\u00a0is<\/i>\u00a0the accepted time; behold,\nnow\u00a0is<\/i>\u00a0the day of salvation<\/u>.)\"<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>(II\nCorinthians 6:2)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

EVERYTHING<\/span><\/b>, and I do mean,\u00a0EVERYTHING<\/b>\u00a0that\nJesus declares He has come to do is\u00a0NOW<\/b>!\u00a0NOW<\/b>\u00a0is\nthe acceptable year of the Lord!\u00a0NOW<\/b>\u00a0is the day of salvation (sozo<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>:\nsalvation, safety, healing, wholeness, prosperity, protection)!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus'\nproclamation of \"the day of vengeance of our God\" is notification to\nthe Enemy that He IS giving His people authority to execute His vengeance, His\nretribution, His judgment upon Satan so they can reclaim and re-take territory\nstolen from them. I remind you of how David put it in Psalm 115:16 when he\nwrote,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\"The heaven,\neven the heavens, are the Lord's, but the earth hath He given to the children\nof men.\"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Father\nGod did not give us the earth and then take it back! From His perspective, He\ngave it to us -- PERIOD! The fact that Satan has gained control by deceit and\ntreachery doesn't make him the owner. Let's not forget that Jesus refers to\nSatan as \"the prince of this world.\" You get it? Prince, NOT king! We\nare the ones Jesus is growing into \"kings and priests unto God.\" The\nearth is ours to re-take, and the authority to re-take it has been given by the\nLord Jesus Christ Who came to proclaim, to declare and decree \"the\nacceptable year of the Lord!\"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Moving\nright along, Jesus continues that same statement saying that He has come to\n\"comfort all that mourn.\" Here's another interesting Hebrew word:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>nacham<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>. Often translated\n\"comfort\" in the English texts, the word literally means:\u00a0to\nbreathe heavily upon or in<\/u>. While one can legitimately translate this word\n\"to comfort,\" it becomes clear that the comfort comes in the very\nbreath of Holy Spirit, breathing life back into us when we are disconsolate\nover some perceived misfortune.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Rather\nthan break down each Hebrew word in the next statement that Jesus makes, let me\nsimply amplify it for clarity's sake.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\"To appoint, commit and convey unto them that lament, mourn\nand bewail [their misfortune and troubles] in Zion, to give unto, to assign and\nfasten upon them the ornaments and embellishments of authority with a crown or\ndiadem(beauty) for ashes, the [anointing] oil of joy, gladness and mirth for\nmourning, the garment of exhilarating, dancing and boisterous praise\nfor the spirit of heaviness, depression and gloom; that they might be called\ntrees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be\nglorified.\"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

This last\npart is perhaps the most extravagant and exuberant part of Jesus' decree and\nproclamation! He finishes up by stating that the purpose of His anointing is to\nre-plant His Garden with us as His trees of righteousness. Let's not forget\nthat John the Baptist prophesied of Jesus following His baptism,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\"And now the axe is laid to the root of the tree.....\"<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>What\ntree? The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil! Jesus is making it clear that\nHis objective is to cut down and remove that accursed tree and replace it with\nnew trees -- US! -- as trees of righteousness, trees that live and breathe next\nto the Tree of Life.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

You know\nwhat Jesus gets out of this? We become His planting, and Father gets the Glory\nfrom us! Right! This is for Him!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Here's\nhow Paul puts it in Philippians 1:6:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath\nbegun a good work in you will perform\u00a0it<\/i>\u00a0until the day of\nJesus Christ.\"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

THIS\nis\u00a0aphi\u00e9mi<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>!\nThis is His kind of forgiveness. This is Hs kind of healing.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Aphi\u00e9mi<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>healing!\nThe eradication of, the sending away of, the total cleansing of the past to the\ndegree that -- from God's point of view -- it never existed in the first place!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

I didn't\nget to go where I wanted to today in expanding on this picture of mental and\nemotional healing, but we're getting close to wrapping up this series. Perhaps\na couple more and we will move along to a different subject.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
