ANOTHER COFFEE BREAK: APHIEMI HEALING, Part 21<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>

March 14, 2014<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Over the past few weeks I've talked about a retired trial\nattorney by the name of Jim Christianson who flew here from Alaska, and to whom\nour fellowship has ministered healing. Jim's healing has yet to be completed in\nsome areas, but this past Sunday he requested healing over tremors he has\nexperienced since the event when he was crushed in a grain elevator many years\nago. The fellowship gathered around Jim on Sunday afternoon, and we saw an\nimmediate cessation of the tremors. I had breakfast with Jim on Monday morning\nand the first thing he did when I walked in was to stretch out his hands. They\nwere rock steady. It was a real "Praise the Lord" moment! And still\nthere is more to come!<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

For\nus as believers, the Blessing of Abraham has an extraordinary genesis. It\nbegins in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer with His unmatched sacrifice for\nus on the Cross.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

We\u2019ve\nlooked at the name of God in past discussions (and I will review that again\nbefore we get too far along in this series) \u2014<\/span> <\/span>Yowd<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> He Vav<\/span>\nHe<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span>\u2014 and the intricate and astounding\npicture encompassed in His Name. Now we need to see how that applies to the\nBlessing of Abraham under the New Covenant.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus\nis both Pattern and Redeemer and Restorer of the Blessing. The apostle Paul\ndescribes for us how this took place.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Philippians\n2:5-.11<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b> <\/span>Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who,\nbeing in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but\nmade Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and<\/i> coming\nin the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled\nHimself and became obedient to the point of<\/i> death, even the\ndeath of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the\nname which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should\nbow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,\nand that<\/i> every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is<\/i> Lord,\nto the glory of God the Father.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Here\nis my own translation and amplification from the Greek text:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Philippians\n2:5-.11 (RAC Translation)<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b> <\/span>Be like Jesus, The Anointed One, and be in His anointing with\nHis mindset, Who, though He existed in the form of God and continuing in that\nform, did not regard equality with God as a thing to be grasped, but\n[temporarily] emptied Himself of His God-status and co-equality with the\nFather, becoming [instead] as a servant, taking on the nature, essence and\nmortality of ordinary man. And being seen as an ordinary man, He abased Himself\nand submitted Himself to death itself, particularly the kind of death which\ncame by being hung on a cross. Therefore God the Father has exalted Him to the\nhighest position and granted Him that name \u2014 rank, authority, power, title,\nposition, character and essence \u2014 which is above and beyond every name \u2014 rank, authority,\ntitle, position, character and essence (i.e., Yowd<\/span> He\nVav<\/span> He Yeshua<\/span>, Ha-Mashiach<\/span>), that at [the very utterance of] the name\nof <\/span>[YHVHYHM]<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span>Jesus, every knee should, must and will bow of beings in heaven,\non earth, and under the earth [in Hades, the region of departed sinful\nspirits]; and that every tongue, utterance and language shall confess,\nacknowledge and agree fully that Jesus Christ is Lord, Supreme in Authority, to\nthe honor, praise, dignity, worship and glory of God the Father.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

That\u2019s\na mouthful, I know, but you get the picture. But let\u2019s fill out this picture\nwith one more thing Paul wrote.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Galatians\n3:5-14 (NASB)<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b> <\/span>Just as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to\nhim for righteousness. <\/i>Therefore know that only<\/i> those\nwho are of faith are sons of Abraham. And the Scripture, foreseeing that God\nwould justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham\nbeforehand, saying,<\/i> \u201cIn you all the nations shall be\nblessed.\u201d<\/i> So then those who are<\/i> of faith are blessed\nwith believing Abraham.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse;\nfor it is written, \u201cCursed<\/i> is everyone who does not\ncontinue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do\nthem.\u201d <\/i>But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of\nGod is<\/i> evident, for \u201cthe just shall live by\nfaith.\u201d <\/i>Yet the law is not of faith, but \u201cthe man who does\nthem shall live by them.\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become\na curse for us (for it is written, \u201cCursed<\/i> is everyone who\nhangs on a tree\u201d<\/i>), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the\nGentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit\nthrough faith.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

By\nnow, you\u2019re seeing it, I\u2019m sure. <\/span>\u201cCursed is everyone who\nhangs on a tree.\u201d<\/span> Jesus\nbecame that curse in order to cancel it. He willingly chose to go to the Cross\nbecause his very death on the Cross would be the cancellation of the curse \u2014\nAND the restoration of the Blessing.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus\nwas the ONLY one who could restore the Blessing of Abraham. Consider again what\nPaul wrote to the Ekklesia<\/span> in Philippi.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThough He existed in the form of God and continuing in that\nform..He emptied Himself of His God-status and co-equality with the Father...\ntaking on the nature, essence and mortality of ordinary man...and submitted\nHimself to death itself, particularly the kind of death which came by being\nhung on a cross.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Why\nwould He do that? Because His objective was to restore the availability of the\nBlessing of Abraham. By His restoration of the Blessing of Abraham, Jesus\ngained for Himself a people whose lives would exhibit His very nature \u2014 Love,\nBlessing, Abundance, Riches, His Faith, His Character, His Personality.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus\ngained for us \u2014 that is to say, He gained for those people who would live by\nHis faith \u2014 ALL of the attributes of the Blessing outlined as Moses rehearsed\nthe Blessing before Israel as he was about to depart and leave the nation under\nJoshua\u2019s leadership.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

We\nneed to review all that the Blessing of Abraham means to those who are (1)<\/span><\/b> obedient to EVERY Word that the Lord\ngives to them by His Spirit, and (2)<\/span><\/b> walk\nin and by His faith.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Those\nare the two essential ingredients to receiving and walking in the Blessing:\nObedience and Faith. Without them, the Blessing of Abraham simply waits on the\nsidelines for the trigger mechanism which releases it. Paul describes Jesus\nas <\/span>\u201cobedient to the point of death, even the death of the Cross.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus\nHimself said,<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

John\n6:38:<\/span><\/u><\/b> <\/span>"For\nI came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent\nme.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

John\n7:16b:<\/span><\/u><\/b> <\/span>\u201cMy\ndoctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

John\n8:38:<\/span><\/u><\/b> <\/span>\u201cI\nspeak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen\nwith your father.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

John\n12:49-50:<\/span><\/u><\/b> \u201cFor I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which\nsent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should\nspeak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I\nspeak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Over\nand over and over again, Jesus makes clear that He is ONLY doing what the\nFather commands. He is obedient to the finest detail of God the Father\u2019s\nheart\u2019s desire. As the picture of obedience, Jesus was and is therefore\nqualified to be THE restorer of the Blessing of Abraham.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

When\nit comes to the subject of faith as a part of the equation, Jesus likewise\nmakes clear that the faith He demonstrates is God\u2019s faith. It is His Faith as\nwell because He and the Father are One.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Mark\n11:22<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b> <\/span>And Jesus answering saith<\/span> unto them,\nHave faith in God<\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

We\ncan better render this from the Greek text, <\/span>Have\nGod\u2019s faith,<\/span> or<\/span> <\/span>Have the God-kind of faith.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Romans\n10:17 reads, <\/span>\u201cSo then faith cometh<\/i> by hearing, and hearing\nby the word of God.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

See\nthe connection? Faith originates in the Word \u2014 the rhema<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> <\/span><\/i><\/b>\u2014\nwhich comes out of the mouth of God. His Word generates His faith in us.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

There\nyou have it: the two essential ingredients which precede the receiving of the\nBlessing of Abraham: Obedience and Faith. Now, let\u2019s take a look at all that\nthe Blessing of Abraham produces for those who are obedient and walk by faith.\nDeuteronomy 28 spells out in great detail all of the elements of the Blessing\nof Abraham. And, of course, Moses begins his recitation of the Blessing with\nthe principal requirement:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Deuteronomy\n28:1-14<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b> <\/span>And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt<\/span>\nhearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God<\/u>, to\nobserve and<\/i> to do all his commandments which I command thee\nthis day<\/u>, that <\/span>(1)<\/span>  the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all\nnations of the earth<\/u>: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and\novertake thee, if thou shalt<\/span> hearken unto the\nvoice of the LORD thy God<\/u>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

To\n\u201chearken\u201d is to listen and obey. If we listen to the voice of the Lord, faith\nfor obedience will follow.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(2)<\/span> Blessed shalt<\/i><\/span> thou be<\/i> in\nthe city.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(3)<\/span> Blessed shalt<\/span> thou be in the\nfield.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(4)<\/span> Blessed shall be<\/i> the fruit (offspring) of\nthy body.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(5)<\/span> Blessed shall be<\/i> the fruit of thy ground.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(6)<\/span> Blessed shall be<\/i> the fruit of thy cattle.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(7)<\/span> Blessed shall be<\/i> the increase of thy kine<\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(8)<\/span> Blessed shall be<\/i> the flocks of thy sheep.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(9)<\/span> Blessed shall be<\/i> thy basket.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(10)<\/span> Blessed shall be<\/i> thy store.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(11)<\/span> Blessed shalt<\/i><\/span> thou be<\/i> when\nthou comest<\/span> in.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(12)<\/span> Blessed shalt<\/i><\/span> thou be<\/i> when\nthou goest<\/span> out.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(13)<\/span> The LORD shall cause thine<\/span> enemies\nthat rise up against thee to be smitten before thy<\/span>\nface.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(14)<\/span> They shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee<\/span> seven ways.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(15)<\/span> The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy\nstorehouses.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(16)<\/span> The LORD shall command the blessing in all that thou settest<\/span> thine<\/span> hand unto.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(17)<\/span> He shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth<\/span> thee.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(18)<\/span> The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself,\nas he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt<\/span> keep the\ncommandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(19)<\/span> All people of the earth shall see that thou art called by\nthe name of the LORD.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(20)<\/span> And they shall be afraid of thee.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(21)<\/span> The LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(22)<\/span> The LORD shall make thee plenteous in the fruit of thy\nbody.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(23)<\/span> The LORD shall make thee plenteous in the fruit of thy\ncattle.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(24)<\/span> The LORD shall make thee plenteous in the fruit of thy\nground, in the land which the LORD sware<\/span> unto thy\nfathers to give thee.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(25)<\/span> The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(26)<\/span> The LORD shall open unto thee the heaven to give the rain\nunto thy land in his season.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(27)<\/span> The LORD shall bless all the work of thine<\/span>\nhand.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(28)<\/span> Thou shalt<\/span> lend unto many\nnations.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(29)<\/span> Thou shalt<\/span> not [have to] borrow.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(30)<\/span> The LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(31)<\/span> Thou shalt<\/span> be above only.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(32<\/span>) Thou shalt<\/span> not be beneath\u2026..if that\nthou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee\nthis day, to observe and to do them.<\/i><\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(33)<\/span> Thou shalt<\/span> not go aside from any\nof the words which I command thee this day...to<\/i> the right hand, or to<\/i> the\nleft, to go after other gods to serve them.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

There\nyou go! 33 Commandments of Blessing \u2014 with the absolute requirement of obeying\nthe rhema<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> Word\nwhich proceeds from the mouth of the Lord. This is the promise God has made to\nthe seed of Abraham.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Does\nGod keep His Word?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Can\nwe expect to have all these parts of the Blessing of Abraham in our lives? Can\nwe trust God, believe that He loves us and believe that He desires to bless us\nmore than we desire the Blessing?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The\nanswer is: Absolutely!<\/b><\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Consider\nfor a minute a picture that we see in the life of Abraham\u2019s son, Isaac.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Genesis\n26:1-5, 12-13<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b> <\/span>And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that\nwas in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech<\/span>\nking of the Philistines unto Gerar<\/span>. And the LORD\nappeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I\nshall tell thee of: Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will\nbless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries,\nand I will perform the oath which I sware<\/span> unto\nAbraham thy father; And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of\nheaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall\nall the nations of the earth be blessed; Because that Abraham obeyed my voice,\nand kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an\nhundredfold: and the LORD blessed him. And the man waxed great, and went\nforward, and grew until he became very great: For he had possession of flocks,\nand possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines\nenvied him.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

See\nthe picture of obedience? Do you see the ridiculous and impossible\ncircumstances that prevailed?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Just\nas the Lord had appeared to Abraham, He now appears to Isaac. Despite the fact\nthat a famine has hit the land, water is nowhere to be found, crops are drying\nup, food is scarce, and people are starving, the Lord says to Isaac, \u201cDon\u2019t go\ndown into Egypt like your father did during the famine that hit the region when\nhe first was here. I know there is plenty in Egypt right now, and it would be\nyour natural instinct to go there. Don\u2019t do that. Stay and dwell here in the\nland. Live here. Occupy this land no matter what the current circumstances are.\nRemember the oath I swore to your father? I will perform that oath precisely as\npromised. I will multiply you. I will multiply your seed. I will give unto your\nseed ALL these countries. Stay here! Don\u2019t go anywhere!\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

And\nthat\u2019s exactly what Isaac did. It wasn\u2019t logical in terms of human reasoning \u2014\nbut then God\u2019s Word, His rhema<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>,<\/span><\/i><\/b> often collides with logic.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

So\nIsaac sowed in the land \u2014 in the midst of famine! And the land began to produce\nsupernaturally. No, it hadn\u2019t suddenly started raining where Isaac sowed. God\ncaused the dew of Heaven to provide enough moisture for the crops to grow. And,\nbrother, did they ever grow. Under any ordinary circumstances, when a farmer\nplants a field, he can expect a return of perhaps 50%, depending on the quality\nof the seed being planted. A 50% yield on a field would mean a great return and\na wonderful harvest.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Isaac\nsaw the seed he planted literally multiply. He didn\u2019t get a 50% yield. If he\nplanted 10 acres of corn seed, he harvested a thousand acres of corn. If he\nplanted a hundred acres of wheat, he harvested ten thousand acres.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Are\nyou beginning to get the picture? Are you seeing the Blessing of the Lord upon\nhim?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Now\nyou can understand why the Scripture tells us, <\/span>\u201cand the Philistines envied him.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

That\nis precisely what God was wanting to happen! His heart\u2019s desire is that the\nworld see a people who live in His Blessing. It causes them to seek after Him.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
