ANOTHER COFFEE BREAK: APHIEMI HEALING, Part 18<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>

February 21, 2014<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Before we get started with today's discussion, let me invite you\nto participate via conference phone in our spontaneous worship gatherings on\nSundays, along with the time of sharing, teaching and fellowship. A few weeks\nago, we started making our gatherings available by telephone where folks could\ncall a designated number and listen in. What prompted this move was the fact\nthat we have folks spread out across well over two hundred miles who don't\nalways have the opportunity to be with us in person.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As most of you already know, we gather from house to house on\nSundays, meeting in a different home each Sunday reaching from Prosser to\nEllensburg. The spiritual dynamic in the home setting far transcends anything\nyou'll ever get in a traditional "church" setting.  <\/p>\n

We've been discussing the significance of Jesus' Blood, the\ntransformation that is taking place in us at the Table of the Lord, the\nconnection between light flowing in our veins and the transition taking place\nin us each time we remember Jesus' sacrifice, His death on the Cross and His\nresurrection. Today, let's revisit Jesus\u2019 statement to the disciples as they\nsat at the Last Supper:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Matthew 26:26-28<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span><\/b>"And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it,\nand brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my\nbody. And He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink\nye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many\nfor the remission of sins<\/u>."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Microsoft's Encarta Encyclopedia provides us with an explanation\nand a rather detailed description of blood showing the many purposes it serves.\nOnce you see this description you can't help but recognize the spiritual\nparallels.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

1.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>Blood carries oxygen from the lungs to\nall parts of the body.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

2.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>Blood washes the body of waste\nproducts, (a) dispersing carbon dioxide out of the body through the exhaling of\nbreath from the lungs, and (b) sending urea and uric acid to the kidneys where\nthey are converted to urine and eliminated.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

3. <\/span><\/b>Blood serves as a means of transporting life throughout the\nbody.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

4.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>Blood becomes the vehicle by which\nchemicals and hormones are moved throughout the body to regulate the function\nof the various organs.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

5. <\/span><\/b>Blood fights disease, resists infection and keeps the body\u2019s\nimmune system operating properly.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

6. <\/span><\/b>The flow of blood throughout the body keeps one part of the\nbody from becoming overactive and overheated by triggering the enlargement or\nshrinkage of blood vessels in order to regulate our body\u2019s temperature and keep\nthings in balance.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Now are you seeing the spiritual parallels?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

1. <\/span><\/b>The Blood of Jesus carries with it the breath of God to all\nparts of the Body.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

2. <\/span><\/b>The Blood of Jesus washes our spirits and our souls of those\nthings that contaminate our daily walk with God. Consider these following\nScriptures for a minute:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Revelation 1:5<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span><\/b>And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the\nfirst begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him\nthat loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Revelation 7:14<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span><\/b>And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest<\/span>.\nAnd he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have\nwashed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

3. <\/span><\/b>The Blood of Jesus \u2013 when shed on the Cross for our sins \u2013\ncanceled out the curse of death and restored eternal life for us.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Hebrews 9:27-28<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span><\/b>And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the\njudgment: So Christ was once [and for all time] offered to bear the sins of\nmany; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without\nsin unto salvation.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

4. <\/span><\/b>The Blood of Jesus is the means by which we as believers in\nChrist Jesus become one Body. The Blood of Jesus (now, the light and life of\nJesus) regulates the development of the Body through the transport and movement\nof \u201cspiritual chemicals and hormones\u201d and ensures proper growth and\ndevelopment.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Let me pause in this illustration to remind you of a point that\nwe\u2019ve discussed in previous times of sharing \u2013 namely, that when Jesus shed His\nBlood and died, He was raised from the dead by the Spirit of God. Paul, writing\nto the Romans, said:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Romans 8:11<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span><\/b>But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead\ndwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your\nmortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth<\/span> in you.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Notice that when Jesus rose from the dead it was because He was\nraised by the Spirit. There was no fresh infusion of blood to make Him alive.\nHe was alive now by Holy Spirit. We, likewise, are made alive in Christ Jesus\nby the Spirit of God. It is the Spirit \u2013 replacing the Blood, and acting in the\nplace of the Blood \u2013 that flows through the Body of Christ.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

That same Spirit regulates the growth and development of the Body\nof Christ by His choice \u2013 not ours. That same Spirit appoints and moves\nthroughout the Body, apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors (shepherds) and\nteachers for the regulation and upbuilding<\/span> and\nstrengthening of the Body as a whole.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Ephesians 4:11-16<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span><\/b>And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some,\nevangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints,\nfor the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we\nall come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God,\nunto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of\nthe fullness of Christ:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThat we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and\ncarried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning\ncraftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in\nlove, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFrom whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by\nthat which every joint supplieth<\/span>, according to the\neffectual working in the measure of every part, maketh<\/span>\nincrease of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

From this picture, Holy Spirit becomes the blood-flow of the Lord\nJesus Christ \u2013 the light-flow and life-flow \u2013 that regulates and stimulates\ngrowth through the five facets of Jesus\u2019 ministry character and makeup.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

5. <\/span><\/b>The Blood of Jesus provides the legal means by which we\nfight off the infection of sin and iniquity. The Blood of Jesus legally\nprovides us our immunity \u2013 both from Satan\u2019s contamination and in a literal\nsense from disease, sickness and infirmity, weakness, poverty and everything\nthat renders us powerless against the infection of sin.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The apostle Paul put it like this: <\/b><\/span>Romans\n8:1-2<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span><\/b>There is therefore\nnow no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the\nSpirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

6. <\/span><\/b>Just as blood in a natural sense regulates the body\u2019s temperature\nby increasing its flow when certain parts of the body become too overheated,\nand restricting its flow by shrinking the size of the blood vessels in order to\ncause the body to warm, the Holy Spirit regulates the temperature of the Body\nof Christ by moving throughout with what we\u2019ve come to refer to as \u201cmoves of\nthe Spirit.\u201d The regulation of the body\u2019s temperature \u2013 in a natural or\nphysical sense \u2013 enables us to walk and live healthy lives.<\/span><\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

As we all know from history, the Body of Christ became extremely\nill \u2013 virtually dormant \u2013 for centuries. The Dark Ages, with religion that had\nall but snuffed out the flow of the Holy Spirit, was very properly named as\nsuch since it was a dark and sick time for God\u2019s people. The body of Christ\nwas, for all intents and purposes, in a coma. Watch the sequence of events that\nbegan to take place as the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus began the process of\nrestoring life into the comatose body:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(a)<\/span><\/b> The Reformation was the beginning of a new flow of life\nwithin the Body as the Holy Spirit began to transport some life and heat back\nwith the revelation that <\/span>\u201cthe just shall live by\nfaith.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(b)<\/span><\/b> The Reformation was followed by several sequential \u201cmoves\u201d\nas the sovereignty of God was revealed, water baptism by immersion; and next, a\ncrack in the Nicolaitan<\/span> doctrine of \u201cpower over the\npeople\u201d by an elite few began to widen into a complete break with \u201chigh church\u201d\n(or hierarchical) structure, as well as with "democratic" church\nstructure or the congregational form of ministry where leaders were\n"elected by the people".<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(c)<\/span><\/b> A \u201cGreat Awakening\u201d to salvation through Jesus Christ by\ngrace and faith began in Ireland and England in the early-to-mid 1700's and\ncame to full flower in America (exhibited in the ministries of John Wesley and\nGeorge Whitfield) just as the United States became a cohesive nation.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(d)<\/span><\/b> That was followed by a second \u201cGreat Awakening in the 1800\u2019s\nin which evangelism began to flourish as never before in history.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(e)<\/span><\/b> At the turn of the 20th<\/sup> Century, we saw the\nAzusa Street Revival and an outpouring of the Holy Spirit with speaking in\ntongues and the gifts of the Spirit in full manifestation. A young generation\nof spirit-filled believers were nurtured in the midst of a visible cloud of\nGlory that lasted for days, weeks and even months.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(f) <\/span><\/b>The Azusa Street Revival caused a flame of the\nHoly Spirit to begin spreading throughout virtually every denomination and\nchurch association, altering forever the lives of pastors, priests, bishops and\nother titled leaders such that they either voluntarily left their organizations\nbecause of opposition and persecution or (as was the case of my grandfather,\nHoward Capener<\/span>, who was a Methodist preacher) they\nwere summarily removed as heretics because they began exhibiting the gifts and\nmiracles of the Holy Spirit, including speaking in tongues.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(g)<\/span><\/b> By the 1940\u2019s and 50\u2019s, the Latter Rain movement took hold\nwith miracles on display such as the world has never known.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(h)<\/span><\/b> During the 1950\u2019s and 60\u2019s and 70\u2019s we saw great evangelical\nmoves with individuals like William Branham, A. A. Allen, (both of whom were\nintrinsic to the Latter Rain movement) Oral Roberts, Billy Graham, T. L. Osborn\nand others. Mass evangelism began to be seen on a scale the Body of Christ had not\npreviously seen. (My mother's best friend became the interpreter for William\nBranham when he traveled abroad in the Scandinavian countries, and my father\nwas a classmate of A.A. Allen.)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(i<\/span>) <\/span><\/b>The early\n60\u2019s and throughout the 70\u2019s brought the Charismatic Renewal, and in the\n1980\u2019s, there began to be heard a depth of teaching and a flowering of\nunderstanding of \u201cthe five-fold ministries" including the apostolic and\nprophetic with folks like Bob Mumford, Derek Prince, Ern<\/span>\nBaxter, Charles Simpson, and many others.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(j)<\/span><\/b> The late 1970's brought the advent of Christian television\nvia satellite and global evangelism on a scale hitherto unseen. It was my great\nprivilege to be associated with the Christian Broadcasting Network for seven\nyears during this period to bring the ministry of Christian television into\nremote bush communities throughout Alaska.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(k)<\/span><\/b> The late 1980\u2019s saw the development of ministries such as\nIHOP and Morningstar with an accent on the Tabernacle of David and 24-hour\npraise, worship, prayer and intercession.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(l)<\/span><\/b> At the same time folks like Kenneth Hagin<\/span>,\nKenneth Copeland, Fred Price and Charles Capps (men who already had proven and\nseasoned ministries) emerged as powerful teachers and proponents of God\u2019s\npeople being restored to prosperous living. In many ways, Kenneth Hagin<\/span> and Charles Capps fathered and fostered the explosion\nof this revelation.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(m) <\/span><\/b>Concurrent with the message of prosperous living\nfor God's people, a prophetic call began to go forth in the earth for a people\nwilling to pay whatever price necessary who would come far beyond the\ntraditional foundational teaching into an intimate relationship with Jesus\nChrist so as to become a part of a fully mature, seasoned body of believers\nwalking in and demonstrating the realm of the miraculous, known as the Bride of\nChrist.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

(n)<\/span><\/b> In the past decade and a half we have seen prophetic and\napostolic ministries flourish as the Body of Christ has once again begun to\ncome alive and assert the anointing and authority of the Kingdom of God in the\nearth. Folks like Bob Jones, Bobby Connor, Paul Keith Davis, Chuck Pierce, Rick\nJoyner, Steven Shelley (just to name a few) and many others too numerous to\nidentify here have become prominent voices in the sharing of what God is doing\nand saying to the Bride of Christ in the earth today.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Throughout the ages there have always been a tiny remnant of God\u2019s\npeople keeping the blood-flow of the Lord Jesus Christ alive and moving; and\ndespite numerous attempts of Satan to snuff out the life of the Spirit, the\nflame of the Holy Spirit has continued to burn and move from place to place.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

There have always been teachers, preachers, evangelists and\nmissionaries throughout the centuries who have had personal visitations from\nthe Lord and have been faithful to the Word God has given them in order to keep\nthe blood-flow and the life-flow of the Holy Spirit alive and moving throughout\nthe Body of Christ. Many of them have been virtually unknown \u201cno-names\u201d whose\nfaithfulness in sharing the life and revelation of the Holy Spirit has led to\nother, more prominent teachers and leaders \u2013 apostles and prophets and\nevangelists \u2013 restoring the life-flow of the Holy Spirit to the body at large.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

We\u2019ve seen an ebb and flow, but the life of the Body of Christ has\ncontinued to grow, mature and take hold in the world as the original vision and\npurpose of God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit has been being\nbrought to fruition.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The Body of Christ IS growing up into HIM \u2013 a whole body, a living\nbody, a ruling body; and it all began to happen when Jesus shed His Blood for\nus.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus'\nBlood did a whole lot more than simply remitting our sins. It forever restored\nour access to the same relationship with the Father that Adam and Eve once\nenjoyed. It restored our access to the Heavenlies<\/span>. It\ntook away the penalty for death and restored eternity.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus'\nBlood eradicated death and the dying process. Along with the dying process went\nall sickness, all disease, all bondage to Satan (no matter what form that\nbondage takes), and all weakness or infirmity.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus'\nBlood restored the Abrahamic<\/span> Covenant -- and the\nBlessing of Abraham.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus'\nBlood canceled the curse of the Law.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus'\nBlood canceled poverty. Jesus' Blood canceled the need to work for a living and\nredeemed work so that we can now "work for a giving" instead -- just\nlike He did!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

"I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not\nI, but Christ liveth<\/span> in me: and the life\nwhich I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God<\/u>, who\nloved me, and gave himself for me."<\/span>(Galatians 2:20)<\/span><\/i><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

"For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath\nmade me free from the law of sin and death." <\/span>(Romans\n8:2)<\/span><\/i><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
