ANOTHER COFFEE BREAK: APHIEMI HEALING, Part 11<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>

January 4, 2014<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Jim Christianson spent many years as a rather prominent trial\nattorney in California until the Enemy tried to take his lights out with\nmultiple bites from a brown recluse spider. Those attacks resulted in the loss\nof his left leg above his knee through three separate amputations, and the loss\nof his left eye. Added to that was the amputation of his right leg below the\nknee due to a freak infection following an accident and a broken ankle. Add to\nthat his having been crushed in a grain elevator and having his body compressed\ninto a space of 17 inches with the result that the upper part of his vertebrae\nwas crushed and three discs disintegrated.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

For the last few years, Jim has lived in pain and had to deal\nwith a continuous grinding noise every time he tried to turn his neck. He has\nbeen unable to sit up straight, and of course even with prosthetics he finds\nhimself pretty much relegated to a wheel chair.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Two weeks ago, Jim flew here from Ketchikan, Alaska to spend\nsome time with us. During the first Sunday gathering in which he was present,\nour group was able to lay hands on him and minister healing to him. He\nexperienced instant healing in his back, the return of complete mobility and\nmovement with his neck, and healing of some old football injuries in his\nshoulders.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Last Sunday, we prayed over his eyesight. The next day he reported\nthat for the first time he was able to open the blind eye partially. A visible\npupil is forming in the eye-socket and the tear duct has begun to come alive.\nHe has also been experiencing the sensation of feeling both of his feet\n(neither of which are visible yet), being able to flex his leg muscles and curl\nhis toes. It is a sign of things coming! What Jim is experiencing is not just\nrestorative but re-creative miracles! Praise God, folks! This is what it is all\nabout! This is what Jesus promises in His Word, and this is what we MUST act\nupon!<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Now,\nlet's pick up another facet today of<\/span>\n<\/span>aphi\u00e9mi<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>\n<\/span>healing\nand talk about the change of character that takes place when we eat regularly\nand consistently with faith at the Table of the Lord.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Take\na look at some of the principles of change that Paul describes in his letters. <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

II\nCorinthians 3:18<\/span><\/u>:<\/span> <\/span>But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of\nthe Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even<\/i> as\nby the Spirit of the Lord.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Romans\n12:1-3<\/span><\/u>:<\/span> <\/span>I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that\nye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which\nis<\/i> your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye\ntransformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is<\/i> that\ngood, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. For I say, through the grace\ngiven unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself<\/i>\nmore highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath\ndealt to every man the measure of faith.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As\nI frequently enjoy doing, let me re-translate this from the original Greek text\nso as to clarify some of the archaic English used in the KJV.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Romans\n12:2 (RAC Translation)<\/span><\/u>:<\/span> <\/span>Do not fashion yourself\nafter the manner of this world: but be transformed \u2013 metamorphosed through\nobedience to the processes of Holy Spirit \u2013 by the renovation and restoration\nof your mind and thoughts so that you will be able to endure the crucible of\ntesting and be approved by God, showing and demonstrating His goodness, being\nin total agreement with His Word and His Will, coming into His completeness and\nmaturity.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Eating\nof the Table of the Lord is designed to produce the change of character,\npersonality and makeup of those who partake of His flesh \u2013 His Word \u2013 and drink\nof His Spirit. If we eat at His Table and don\u2019t see demonstrable change in\nourselves, we are treating His Table as anaxios<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>, <\/span><\/i><\/b>commonplace and ordinary \u2013 not\ndiscerning the Lord\u2019s Body.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Let's\ntalk for a minute about this Greek word, anaxios<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>. <\/span><\/i><\/b>This is could literally be translated:\nunfit. The context of its usage here is to treat irreverently, and more\nspecifically, as incapable of any spiritual consequence or, lacking in any\ntransformative power or ability.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Now,\nput that in the picture of Jesus' instruction to the Disciples when He said,<\/span> <\/span>"Do this in remembrance of me."<\/span> <\/span>That\nwas NOT a suggestion, and it was never intended to be some kind of dead,\nlifeless, ritual. It is also why Paul made clear in his letter to the Ekklesia<\/span> in Corinth that because some were treating it\nritualistically without any thought of spiritual conveyance,<\/span> <\/span>"For this cause many are<\/i> weak and sickly (diseased\nand impotent) among you, and many sleep (die prematurely)."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Consider,\nthen, just why Jesus made the following statements:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Matthew\n6:25, 31-32<\/span><\/u>:<\/span> <\/span>"Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your\nlife, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink<\/u>; nor yet for your body,\nwhat ye shall put on."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

"Is not the life more than meat<\/span><\/u>, and the body than raiment? Therefore take no thought,\nsaying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be\nclothed<\/u>? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your\nheavenly Father knoweth<\/span> that ye have need of all\nthese things."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Because\nthe curse of death, disease, sickness, weakness and poverty came upon the human\nrace by virtue of that which was eaten, worrying and fretting over what we eat,\nwhat we drink and how we clothe ourselves has become perhaps man\u2019s greatest\npriority. It stems out of the fear of death. That fear came upon man because of\neating the \u201cKnowledge of Evil.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The\nTable of the Lord is designed specifically to deliver us from fear \u2013 ALL FEAR!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

1.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>Fear drives disease and sickness.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

2.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>Fear drives and compels disobedience to\nthe Word.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

3.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>Fear causes us to compromise our\nstanding in God.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

4.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>Fear prevents us from receiving, taking\nand possessing all that God has for us.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

5.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>Fear robs us of the Blessing of\nAbraham.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

6.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>Fear causes us to alter our behavior around\nfamily members because of what they might say or how they might react to our\nliberty in Christ Jesus.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

7.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>Fear is faith gone negative. It has all\nthe power of faith, but it is destructive power \u2013 NOT creative power, NOT\nrestorative power, NOT healing power.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We\nhave talked about the following instruction already in this series of Coffee\nBreaks, but let's revisit Paul's command to Timothy and amplify it a bit.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

II\nTimothy 2:15-17<\/span><\/u>:<\/span> <\/span>Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth<\/span> not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of\ntruth. But shun profane and<\/i> vain babblings: for they will increase unto\nmore ungodliness. And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus<\/span> and Philetus<\/span>;<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And\nagain, here is my translation and amplification from the Greek.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

II\nTimothy 2:15-17 (RAC Translation)<\/span><\/u>:<\/span>\n<\/span>Be instantly responsive to the Lord, making yourself available\nto Him in the midst of the crucible, a tried and tested laborer who has no fear\nof being examined \u2013 one who, by virtue of God\u2019s testing and the time spent in\nthe crucible with Him, knows the proven Word of Truth.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Stand aloof from, and avoid the untested, untried \u201cword\u201d which\ncomes forth from those who would propagate speculation and create their own\ndoctrines. These profane speculations and so-called \u201cwords\u201d are empty babblings\nwhich will only serve to advance ungodliness;<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

And those who spread these doctrines will only yield a gangrene\npasture \u2013 a source of poison to those who ingest their \u201cword\u201d\u2026..<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Eating\nat the Table of the Lord produces the Word in us \u2013 that change and\ntransformation which enables us to endure trial, testing, persecution \u2013 all of\nwhich work to produce the hardness and strength of character that result from\nthe testing (in the midst of the crucible) when we resist the world.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Notice\nPaul's last statement (above) in the portion of his letter to Timothy:<\/span> <\/span>\u201cAnd those who spread these doctrines will only yield a gangrene\npasture \u2013 a source of poison to those who ingest their \u201cword\u201d\u2026..<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The\npoison that comes into our spirits from eating of these speculative doctrines\npredicated on the untested and untried Word not only contaminates our spirits\nbut also results in physical sickness, decay and even death. Let me take a\nminute to give you some examples.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Hyper-grace<\/span><\/u><\/i><\/b>:<\/span><\/u>\n<\/span>This\nis a teaching which blows the concept of God's grace totally out of proportion.\nPerhaps the biggest crime -- and spiritual poison -- that comes from eating of\nthis doctrine is that it removes the need for the crucible and the testing of\nthe Word.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Ultimate Reconciliation<\/span><\/u><\/i><\/b>: This is a doctrine\nstraight out of Hell. It is as damnable a heresy as has ever contaminated the\nbody of Christ! It essentially states that there is no such thing as an eternal\njudgment in Hell; that "a loving God would never keep people in torment\nfor eternity"; and\/or that "God would never destroy Lucifer\/Satan and\nsubject him to everlasting torment in fire"; and, finally, that "God,\nin an act of love, will ultimately reconcile Satan to Himself, and everyone --\neven those who are in Hell for a time -- will be reconciled to Himself in a\nfinal act of salvation."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

No Hell<\/span><\/u><\/i><\/b>:<\/span><\/u>\n<\/span>A\ncompanion doctrine to that of ultimate reconciliation, this one teaches that\nHell is not a place of everlasting torment or destruction and that translators\nhave really screwed up by comingling the concepts of Gehenna<\/span>,\nHades and Sheol<\/span> (the Hebrew and Greek terms that\noccur in the original texts).<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Perhaps\nsomeday I can take the time to explore these heresies in greater detail and\nexplain why so many folks have fallen into such error. The point is that each\nof these teachings essentially does away with the need for God's people to\nendure trial, testing, fire, persecution, etc.: in other words, the necessity\nof the Word being tested in us in the midst of the crucible.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

John\ndeals with the need for transformation and testing like this (and again this is\nmy translation and amplification):<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

John\n1:12-13 (RAC Translation)<\/span><\/u>:<\/span> <\/span>But as many as believed\nin and responded to Him, to them He gave the authority and ability to become \u2013\nand be transformed into \u2013 begotten children of God, specifically to those who\nentrust their future existence and well-being by faith in His name, rank,\nposition, character, personality and being; who were begotten, not of flesh and\nblood, nor because human flesh determined it by its own decision, nor because\nthe mind and intellect of man seized upon it and willed it into existence, but\nby God as a sovereign act of His Will and determination.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Change\nand transformation begins at the Table of the Lord, but there is a process of\nchange that goes like this:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

1. Change is first\ninitiated because we hear the call and the drawing of Holy Spirit within our\nbeings. Change requires a response of obedience predicated on believing His\nWord and the voice of His Spirit.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

2. Our character and\nnature begin a process of transformation -- a metamorphosis, if you please --\nso that we as spiritual beings can be joined to Him.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

3. No act of our\nflesh is involved in this process.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

4. We are begotten by\nthe Spirit in a genetic sense of the word. There is a change of our DNA.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

5. Neither strong\npersonality, nor an intellectual decision to become \u201cOne\u201d with Him play the\nslightest part in any transformation which takes place in our life.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

6. We cannot \u201cwill\u201d\nourselves to become a part of the Bride, nor can we \u201cchoose\u201d by arbitrary\ndecision or mental acquiescence to participate in anything which the Lord is\ndoing in us and in His people.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

7. Everything which\noccurs as a part of the developmental processes initiated by Jesus Christ\nthrough His death and resurrection, does so because Father first spoke it,\nwilled it so, and -- by and through His Spirit -- called those who are\nundergoing the processes.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

8. Everything that\nFather wills for us and draws us toward must be put to the test so that we can\njoin -- not simply legally, but experientially -- the Lord Jesus Christ as\njoint-overcomers<\/span> at the right hand of the Throne of\nGod. (see Revelation 3:21)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Am\nI making sense? Are you grasping the picture? Do you see why the Word so emphasizes\nthe need for our change of character?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It\nis no exaggeration to say that our healing and continued health hangs on this\nchange of character and metamorphosis from the old sinful creation to the new.\nMinus this change, even if we receive healing from some sickness or affliction\nat the moment, we are candidates for that same sickness or disease to return.\nThis is true simply because the change in us that effects the transformation of\nour DNA (spiritually and physically) must occur if we are to be free of the\nsin-and-curse-contaminated DNA associated with our old creation.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Whewww<\/span><\/span>!!! That was a\nmouthful, wasn't it? Anyway, you get the picture! Once again, the forgiveness\nand remittance -- aphi\u00e9mi<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>,<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>\n<\/span>if\nyou will -- of our past sins, errors, and blunders, whether deliberate or\nunintended, plays into our healing and continued health.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Let's\nwrap up today with something that Paul writes to the Philippians:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this<\/i>\none thing I do<\/i>, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching\nforth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize\nof the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."<\/span>\n<\/span>(Philippians\n3:13-14)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n
