 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

Happy New Year,\nEveryone!\u00a0 <\/span>I will say what I\u2019ve said\nbefore: for those of you who are walking in union with the Lord \u2013 and I don\u2019t\nmean simply confessing Jesus Christ as Savior \u2013 real intimacy with Jesus\nChrist, that is, expect this coming year to easily be the most productive year\nyou\u2019ve ever known.\u00a0 <\/span>Expect a year where\nyou see and experience the outpouring of the Blessing of the Lord in ways you\nsimply cannot imagine.\u00a0 <\/span>Expect a year in\nwhich the Lord appears to tens of thousands of Muslims resulting in their\ndeliverance from Islam.\u00a0 <\/span>Expect an\ningathering of souls into the body of Christ on a scale hitherto unknown.\u00a0 <\/span>We are in for some adventures, folks!<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

I am deeply\nappreciative of all the labors of Rich Hoffman and his crew throughout the past\nyears for their ongoing work with our websites and attention to detail.\u00a0 <\/span>There have been an uncountable number of\nefforts to hack our websites and take them down, and Rich has been able to\nsuccessfully ward off these attacks so that the ministry of the Word continues.\n<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

We\u2019ve\nbeen talking about being led in the Paths of Righteousness during the past few\nmonths, and I\u2019ve endeavored to share with you some of the personal adventures\nas well as some in the lives of folks I\u2019ve known throughout the years.\u00a0 <\/span>So far, I believe we\u2019ve covered something\nlike seven different principles or objectives the Lord has for us in leading us\non these paths \u2013 and believe me, I\u2019ve only scratched the surface.\u00a0 <\/span>I believe that I could almost write an entire\nbook on the Paths of Righteousness \u2013 never mind all the other steps that lead\nus from our declaration of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Shepherd to the place\nwhere we dwell with Him \u201cin the House of the Lord\u201d forever \u2013 but with today\u2019s\nCoffee Break, let\u2019s pick up another principle or purpose before we move on to\nthe Valley of the Shadow of Death.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let\u2019s\nbegin with a couple of Scriptures that highlight this principle:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

James 3:13<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>Who\namong you is skillful in the Word, wisely cultivating the presence of the Lord:\nlet that person exhibit, and give evidence and proof of that Word and presence\nthrough his (or her) virtuous and meritorious behavior, demonstrating those\nproofs and evidence wisely in a spirit of meekness and humility.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>(RAC Translation & Amplification)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

II Corinthians 1:12<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>It\u2019s\nbecause our exulting and rejoicing comes as the demonstrated evidence of a\nclear conscience so that our behavior, our attitudes and the way in which we\nconduct business are clear and simple, showing God\u2019s sincere, purposed intent \u2013\nnot with any worldly sophistry and human reasoning \u2013 but with the grace and\nempowerment [of Holy Spirit], especially towards you (our beloved brethren).\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>(RAC Translation & Amplification)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

What\nPaul is getting at in these two passages (and we\u2019ll take a look at some others)\nis the fact that the resulting change that takes place in and with us as we\nwalk with the Lord and follow Him in the Paths of Righteousness is that our\nlives become the demonstration of Who He is!\u00a0\n<\/span>Our language changes.\u00a0 <\/span>The words\nthat come out of our mouths change.\u00a0 <\/span>Our\nattitudes change.\u00a0 <\/span>There is a level of\nlove and mercy and empowering grace that becomes the hallmark of our lives.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That\nbrings us to our 8th<\/sup> principle or purpose designed by the Lord for\nHis leading us in these Paths of Righteousness:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

8.\nHoly Spirit\u2019s purpose and objective in leading us in these paths is to teach\nand train us in Kingdom Behavior.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b>That may sound a\nbit simplistic but He is teaching us to behave just like Jesus did when He\nwalked in physical form on the earth \u2013 and still walks in us today!\u00a0 <\/span>In other words, we have to become Jesus to\nthe world!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\npurpose of our walk \u2013 and this is critical \u2013 is to literally become the living\nWord before all men and women.\u00a0 <\/span>John\ndescribes Jesus by saying,<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

John 1:14:<\/span><\/u><\/b> <\/span>An<\/span>d\nthe Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the\nglory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

THAT\u2019s\nwhat is taking place in us!\u00a0 <\/span>The Word is\nno longer just words and letters on paper in a book: the Word has taken on\nphysical manifestation in us!\u00a0 <\/span>The Word\nis not just Who Jesus is.\u00a0 <\/span>The Word is\nnot just the things that Jesus said and did.\u00a0\n<\/span>The Word is us!\u00a0 <\/span>We are and have\nbecome that Word because the anointing of the Anointed One is on visible\ndisplay for all the world to see.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

You\nsee, Jesus is described by John as \u201cthe only begotten of the Father.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>We, on the other hand, have been adopted into\nthe family of God just as though we had been begotten by Father.\u00a0 <\/span>We have all the rights, privileges, authority\nand power granted to us as \u201c<\/span>huios<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>\u201d \u2013 fully-grown,\nfully matured, empowered by Father with the signet ring of His authority.\u00a0 <\/span>That signet ring, of course, is Holy Spirit\non full display in us.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Consider,\nnow, the following statements that Paul makes.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Ephesians 1:16-23<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>(1)\nCease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; \u00a0<\/span><\/sup>That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ,\nthe Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in\nthe knowledge of him: \u00a0<\/span><\/sup>The\neyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope\nof his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the\nsaints, \u00a0<\/span><\/sup>And what is<\/i>\nthe exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the\nworking of his mighty power,<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead,\nand set him<\/i> at his own right hand in the heavenly places<\/i>, \u00a0<\/span><\/sup>Far above all principality, and power,\nand might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world,\nbut also in that which is to come: \u00a0<\/span><\/sup>And\nhath put all things<\/i> under his feet, and gave him to be<\/i> the head\nover all things<\/i> to the church, \u00a0<\/span><\/sup>Which is his body, the fullness of him\nthat filleth<\/span> all in all.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Embodied\nin Paul\u2019s letter to the Ephesians is the essence of <\/span>\u201cHe\nleadeth<\/span> me in the Paths of Righteousness for His\nName\u2019s sake.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nvery character, the personality, the makeup, the very essence of Who Jesus\nChrist is, His authority and power are all incorporated in \u201cfor His Name\u2019s\nsake.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>How is it that Paul puts it?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u201cThe eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that\nyou may know what is the hope of His calling, and what (are) the riches of the\nGlory of His inheritance in the saints.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

But\nPaul doesn\u2019t stop there!\u00a0 <\/span>It gets even\nbetter!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u201cAnd what is the exceeding greatness of His power\n(given) to us who believe, in direct proportion to the working of His mighty\npower.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Now!\u00a0 <\/span>Take a look at what Paul describes as the\nroot of the greatness of the power and authority of the Lord Jesus Christ.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nexample of that power and authority are that which He \u2013 that is, God the Father\n\u2013 energized, developed and accomplished in the anointing of the Anointed One,\nJesus Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His own right\nhand in the Heavens.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

And\nstill it goes on!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When\nJesus was seated at the right hand of Father God, He was given that seat of\nauthority and power <\/span>\u201cfar above all supreme leaders and rulers \u2013 those who originate\nlaws, rules and policies (principalities), authorities, privileged ones,\nmagistrates and those who delegate influence and\/or rights (power), all\nability, force or miraculous power (might), governments and their rulers or\nauthorities (dominion), and every<\/span> onoma<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/span>\n(name incorporating character, personality, makeup, power or position \u2013 in\nother words, the very essence of who or what they are) that is named or called\nout; not only in this world, but also that which is to come!\u201d\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>(RAC Translation & Amplification)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nnatural, unredeemed, carnal mind simply cannot comprehend the height and depth\nand width and length of the kind of position, authority and dominion given to\nthe Lord Jesus Christ.\u00a0 <\/span>In fact, a good\nchunk of the church world has so diminished this truth that it is lost upon a\ngood many folks who call themselves Christians.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

As\nif that wasn\u2019t enough, Paul takes it yet another step when he says that <\/span>\u201c(Father\nGod) has put all (whether that be beings (no matter what realm of life they\nrepresent), activites<\/span>, the forces of nature or the\nuniverse itself under Jesus\u2019 feet, and gave Him all Creation as the head over\nall to the Ekklesia<\/span>, which is His body, the\ncompletion and full manifestation of Him who furnishes and fills every need to\nall.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>(RAC Translation &\nAmplification)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Now,\ngo back to where Paul began this extravagant picture!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Paul\u2019s\nprayer is that Father God, who is the Father of Glory, would give us the real\nrevelation of Who Jesus Christ really IS!\u00a0\n<\/span>His prayer goes like this:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u201cI never pause or slack up in my thanksgiving for you, at the\nsame time praying and interceding that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, God\nbeing the Father of Glory, would give, transfer and impart into your being the\nSpirit of Wisdom and Revelation so that the nature, the makeup, the character\nand the purpose and destiny of Jesus Christ would become part and parcel of you\n\u2013 [not just intellectually but by the kind of revelation that comes by eating\nof the Tree of Life.]\u201d<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>(Ephesians 1:12: RAC\nTranslation & Amplification)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

And\nwhat is the purpose and destiny of the Lord Jesus Christ?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

First\nof all, WE are HIS calling!\u00a0 <\/span>WE are HIS\ninheritance!\u00a0 <\/span>His name, His character,\nWho Jesus really is, is at stake in us!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Secondly,\nthe idea that we are His inheritance really gets lost in the understanding of\nmost believers today.\u00a0 <\/span>What does the fact\nthat we are His inheritance mean exactly?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

In\nthe seven letters that John writes to the Ekklesia<\/span> \u2013\neach of which ends with a requirement of overcoming \u2013 he lays out the calling\nand the purpose of the Lord Jesus Christ.\u00a0\n<\/span>Each of those letters is a sequential description of the processes\nnecessary for us to become the inheritance \u2013 the completion and fulfillment \u2013\nof Jesus Christ.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

In\nthe sixth of the seven letters (and we\u2019ve already discussed this in this series\nat some length) John gives us a real revelation of Christ\u2019s purpose, destiny\nand inheritance in us. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Revelation 3:12<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>Him\nthat overcometh<\/span> will I make a pillar in the temple of\nmy God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my\nGod, and the name of the city of my God, which is<\/i> new Jerusalem, which\ncometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him<\/i> my new\nname.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Three\ndistinctive statements occur here which reveal both our purpose and destiny, as\nwell as Jesus\u2019 purpose, His investment and His inheritance in us.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

1.      <\/span><\/span><\/span>I\nwill write<\/span> <\/span>(Greek:\n<\/span>grapho<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>: to engrave) <\/span>upon\nhim the name <\/span>(Greek:<\/span> onoma<\/span><\/span><\/i><\/b>: character, nature, personality, the very\nmakeup)<\/span>\nof my God!<\/span><\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

2.      <\/span><\/span><\/span>[I\nwill write <\/span>Greek:\n<\/span>grapho<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>: to engrave) <\/span>upon\nhim] the name <\/span>(Greek:<\/span> onoma<\/span><\/span><\/i><\/b>: character, nature, personality, the very\nmakeup) <\/span>of the city of my God which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down\nout of Heaven from my God! <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

3.      <\/span><\/span><\/span>And\nI will write <\/span>Greek:\n<\/span>grapho<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>: to engrave) <\/span>upon\nhim my new name <\/span>(Greek:<\/span> onoma<\/span><\/span><\/i><\/b>: character, nature, personality, the very\nmakeup)<\/span>!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

THAT,\nmy friends, is the very essence of the statement that David makes when he says,\n\u201cfor His name\u2019s sake.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>The very fact\nthat we are His inheritance means that His character, His makeup, His authority\nand power, His very personality of love, grace and faith are being worked in us\nto the place that we become One with the Lord Jesus Christ.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When\nthat takes place, Jesus will have received His inheritance.\u00a0 <\/span>When that takes place, Jesus will have a new\nname!\u00a0 <\/span>That new name \u2013 onoma<\/span> \u2013 is the product of Jesus being joined in One with\nus.\u00a0 <\/span>He will be changed just as we will\nbe changed.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\u2019ve\ntalked about this before, but when people who knew me before I was married to\nDella saw the change in me after we were married.\u00a0 <\/span>In fact, Dwain McKenzie (whom I\u2019ve known for\nover 60 years) made a comment when he came to visit us one time.\u00a0 <\/span>His comment was, \u201cBrother, have you ever\nchanged!\u00a0 <\/span>You\u2019re not the same person you\nused to be.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Those\nwho\u2019ve known Della before we were married have made the same comment to\nher.\u00a0 <\/span>Della has been transformed from a\nquiet, withdrawn, stay-in-the-background kind of woman, to a bold, forthright\nand outspoken woman of Christ.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\nbecame a new creation when Della and I were joined together.\u00a0 <\/span>So did she.\u00a0\n<\/span>And that is exactly what is happening with Jesus Christ as we are being\njoined to Him.\u00a0 <\/span>Its why Jesus could say, <\/span>\u201cVerily,\nVerily I say unto you: he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do\nalso, and greater works than these shall he do because I go unto my Father.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Jesus\nHAD to go to Father so that Holy Spirit could work His character, His nature,\nHis personality, His authority and power, His overwhelming love, grace and\nfaith \u2013 His very makeup \u2013 in us.\u00a0 <\/span>THAT is\nHis function.\u00a0 <\/span>He is the Paraklete<\/span>.\u00a0 <\/span>He is (to\nquote the Hebrew definition) \u201cthe Keeper of the King\u2019s Women.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>He is the preparer of the Bride for the Lord\nJesus Christ.\u00a0 <\/span>The result of that work is\nthe evidence of \u201cHis name\u2019s sake.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>The\nresult of that work is His new name!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That\nis precisely why, <\/span>\u201cHe leadeth<\/span> me in the Paths of\nRighteousness for His Name\u2019s Sake.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n
