Well.......yawn......Guess it's my turn to get told, "Wake\nup, Sleepy!" I went to bed early last night and then woke up at 3:15 in\nthe morning absolutely wired! Got up for a couple of hours to do some work on\nthe computer and then went back to bed for a bit. Now I need toothpicks under my eyelids......<\/span><\/b>\n<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Just\nre-reading some of what I wrote last week and realized that I made a rather\ninconsistent statement. Detailing the characteristics of the operation of the\nSpirit of Truth I wrote, "For those who walk in love \u2013 AND in the\nSpirit \u2013 Jesus\u2019 promise is that the Spirit of Truth will dwell IN<\/b> us."<\/i><\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That's\nfunny, actually. We ARE talking about walking in agape<\/span><\/i><\/b> are we not? Duhhhh<\/span>....\nLast time I looked, you couldn't walk in agape<\/span><\/i><\/b> and\nNOT be in the Spirit! Agape<\/span><\/i><\/b> can't\noperate in the realm of the soul or the flesh, no matter how you slice\nit! Agape<\/span><\/i><\/b> superintends\nthe soul and flesh because it is strictly Spirit-based! Anyway, sometimes I get\nto writing so fast the words come out and I don't realize how I've expressed\nmyself. Oh well! On with today's discussion.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

And,\nby the way, my thanks to all those of you who've helped to push<\/span> <\/span>A Tale of Two Brides<\/span><\/b> <\/span>to\nits presence on Amazon.com's<\/span> best-seller lists for\nthe past few weeks, reaching as high as #8. It's a blessing to know that the\nprophetic message in that book is reaching into the hearts of many tens of thousands\nof readers.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

In\nthe midst of a discourse on the subject of trials and persecution, Peter wrote,<\/span> <\/span>"Rejoice according to the share you have in the sufferings\nof Christ, that in the revelation of His glory, you may also rejoice with\nextreme joy. If you are reviled and belittled in the name of Christ, blessed\nare you, because the Spirit of Glory and the Spirit of God rest upon you."<\/span> <\/span>(I\nPeter 4:13-14 -- my translation)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nphrase, "the glory of God," or variations thereof, appears something\nlike 300 times throughout Scripture. David mentions it approximately 50 times\nin the Psalms, and Isaiah refers to it 50 times in his prophecies. David refers\nto the Lord five times (Psalm 24) as "The King of Glory."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

In\nPsalm 72:19, he prophesies,<\/span> <\/span>"And blessed be His glorious shem<\/i><\/span> [onoma<\/i><\/span>] for ever: and let the whole earth be filled\nwith His glory."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"In the year that King Uzziah<\/span>\ndied,"<\/span> <\/span>Isaiah was taken up in the Spirit and\ngiven a vision of the Lord sitting upon a throne. He saw and heard the seraphims<\/span> (the Hebrew word for them is, sar.aph<\/span><\/i><\/b>), winged creatures ablaze with a\nbrilliant light -- who appeared as if they were on fire -- saying one to\nanother,<\/span> <\/span>"Holy,\nHoly, Holy is the Lord of Hosts: the whole earth is filled with His\nGlory!"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Some\nforty-six years later, the Lord again allowed Isaiah to see into the distant\nfuture and to prophesy,<\/span> <\/span>"The\nGlory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together."<\/span> <\/span>(Isaiah\n40:5 KJV)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nword used primarily in the Greek text for "Glory" is, doxa<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>.<\/span><\/i><\/b> (We are familiar with a contemporary\nusage of this word in a very old hymn, "The Doxology.") In the Hebrew\ntext, it is ka.bod<\/span><\/i><\/b> (pronounced,\nkah.bode<\/span>'). Both words parallel one another in usage\nand translation. Doxa<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> and ka.bod<\/span><\/i><\/b> both mean:<\/span> <\/span>splendor, majesty, honor,\nglory, abundance, riches<\/span><\/b>.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Ka.bod<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span>is derived from kabad<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>,<\/span><\/b> which means:<\/span> <\/span>to be heavy; it is used\nof weight, being weighty<\/span><\/b>: hence in a figurative sense, ka.bod<\/span><\/i><\/b> represents:<\/span> <\/span>to increase with honor;\nto render illustrious; to show one's self great, glorious, plentiful, abundant,\nnumerous<\/span><\/b>,<\/span> <\/span>etc.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Doxa<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>,<\/span><\/b> <\/span>on\nthe other hand, takes its weight of meaning from:<\/span> <\/span>estimate,\nview, good opinion<\/span><\/b>;\nhence, it represents<\/span> <\/span>magnificence,\nexcellence, preeminence, dignity and grace<\/span><\/b>.<\/span> <\/span>Bishop\nWescott<\/span> defines it as:<\/span> <\/span>a most\nglorious condition, the most exalted state<\/span><\/b>, and translates it (in the case of the\nSpirit of Glory) as <\/b><\/span>the<\/span><\/b> <\/span>absolutely perfect inner\nbeing, and the personal excellence of Christ<\/span><\/b>.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nSeptuagint translators translated doxa<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> for ka.bod<\/span><\/i>,<\/span><\/b> rendering\nit<\/span> <\/span>heavenly\nbrightness, a brilliant splendor surrounding the Lord<\/span><\/b>. They used doxa<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> to\ndefine the Shekinah<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>,\nthe brilliant light which surrounded Moses following his two 40-day periods in\nthe presence of the Lord on the mountain top. This word occurs in the New\nTestament to describe the appearance of Jesus as He was transfigured.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nJewish historian, Josephus, used doxa<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> to describe the glorious\nform and appearance of those who were raised from the dead, having seen the\nremarkable change and transformation which took place in their countenance and\nbeing.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Obviously,\nwe could use page after page to describe the ways in which these words have\nbeen applied, but I believe that Bishop Wescott<\/span>\ncaptured the essence of it with his picture of absolute perfection and personal\nexcellence. Thus we can grasp some sense of the Spirit of Glory by seeing it as\nvisible perfection or exalted majesty. All that we know as "majestic"\nin earthly terms, all that we know as "magnificence" and\n"splendor," can scarcely begin to convey the reality of The Spirit of\nGlory.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Many\nof you have heard me share the experience many years ago of being in Heaven,\nand being ushered into the Throne Room. The Glory of the Lord was so powerful\nthat I fell prostrate. I literally felt the "weight of Glory." The\nbrilliant light about the Father far exceeded that of the sun, and I was unable\nto look at Him. I had been walking and talking with Jesus for quite some time\nprior to being ushered into the Throne Room, and while He radiated this same\nlight, for some reason I was able to look at Him -- at least for short periods.\nThe light was less intense and\/or piercing. Nevertheless, I was unable to gaze\ninto His face for any period of time without everything else blanking out\naround Him.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

In\nthe years since, much change has taken place in me. While the experience of\nbeing in Heaven has not been repeated -- at least in a literal sense -- I have\nexperienced being carried in the Spirit into the presence of Jesus Christ on\nnumerous occasions, and have seen Father at a distance. With the transformation\nwhich has been being worked by Holy Spirit, I have found the experience less\nshocking, and in fact, very normal. It has helped me to understand the change\nof onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> which\nis taking place.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

David\nwrote, <\/span>"Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast\nput off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; to the end that my glory may\nsing praise unto thee, and not be silent."<\/span> <\/span>(Psalm 30:11-12 KJV)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We\nare being brought to a place where that which we have previously seen as\nsupernatural now becomes natural. He is working His Glory in us. The Spirit of\nGlory is being given to His Bride for her completion and perfection. Glory is\nintegral to the onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> of\nJesus Christ. If we are to be like Him when we see Him, it must be integral to\nour onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>.<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Hear\nthe promise of the Lord.<\/span> <\/span>"I\nthe Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thy hand, and will\nkeep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the\nnations..........I am the Lord: that is my shem<\/i><\/span> [onoma<\/i><\/span>]: and my Glory will I not give to another\n(god), neither my praise to graven images. Behold the former things are come to\npass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of\nthem."<\/span> <\/span>(Isaiah 42:6-8)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Notice\nthat He says,<\/span> <\/span>"I\nam the Lord: that is my onoma<\/i><\/span>."<\/span> <\/span>Then\nin the very same breath, He says,<\/span> <\/span>"My Glory will I not give to another<\/span> <\/span>(god),<\/span> <\/span>nor my tehillah<\/i><\/span> to\ngraven images."<\/span> <\/span>He therefore makes it clear that His\nGlory is a part of His onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>,<\/span><\/b> that he will not under any\ncircumstances allow it to be given or used for the sake of any other god. The\nword, tehillah<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>,<\/span><\/b> while generally translated\n"praise," is a variant word also translated, "Glory." Tehillah<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>,<\/span><\/b> in this instance, is:<\/span> <\/span>glory attested to; hence,\nlaudation<\/span><\/b>.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let\nme pause momentarily to comment on the significance of this statement.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

True\n"Glory" is the exclusive domain of the Lord. It is elemental to His\nmakeup and intrinsic to His character. The Spirit of Glory is that constituent\nof His onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> <\/b>which\nperfects and completes us. Nevertheless, there are many woefully ignorant\nbelievers who casually and carelessly attribute the working and the works of\nHoly Spirit to the works of their hands, or the works of the hands of others:\ngraven images, if you will.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nLord performs some wonderful work in their lives; perhaps they are healed;\npossibly they receive some wonderful opportunity; maybe they receive some kind\nof promotion on the job; there are any one of hundreds of possible scenarios.\nYet when it comes time to give credit where credit is due, do you think the\nLord gets the Glory?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Riiiighht<\/span><\/span>! Suure<\/span>\nHe does! It is given to your talents and abilities, the doctor, the pills, your\nfriends, your employer, or a myriad of other things -- all of which may have\nplayed a part in your blessing. Nevertheless, the real credit -- the real glory\n-- belongs to the Lord, without whose intervention and orchestration of affairs\nthose things could not have happened.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"Well,\nI owe it all to Dr. Jones. He knew just the right medication for my condition.\nIf it hadn't been for his medical skills and training, I probably wouldn't be\nhere today<\/i>." "Yes, it was a wonderful promotion! But I owe it\nall to Richard. If he hadn't put in a good word for me, this never would have\nhappened<\/i>."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\nunderstand that you have wanted to visit Egypt and Israel all of your life, and\nthat you've just been given some airline tickets. This travel opportunity is a\nreal gift from the Lord. "Yes, but I just happened to be in the right\nplace at the right time. I happened to see this advertisement, and mentioned it\nto one of my kids, and they decided to do this for my wife and I<\/i>."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Funny,\nisn't it, how "yes, but.." gets the credit instead of the Lord. Who\nis getting the glory? The doctor? The medication? Your associate on the job?\nYour kids? Excuse me for saying so, but aren't you in danger of making them\ninto graven images? Maybe it doesn't seem like a big deal to you, but if the\nLord has to share the credit with all these other people or things in your\nlife, there is an enormous gap in your relationship with Him. It's OK to be\ngrateful for the involvement of others in your life. Crediting them with the\npraise, honor and glory which belong to the Lord is quite another thing.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I'm\nnot here to make attacks on anyone or anything. It is important that we get our\npriorities straight. Every event in our lives, no matter how great or small,\nplays a role in that which Holy Spirit does, in order to bring about the\nnecessary change, to conform us to the image and character of Jesus Christ.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"Glory"\nplays an ever-increasing importance in our onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> <\/b>as we are molded\nand shaped. It is literally a part of our perfecting and completion. The more\nthat Spirit of Glory begins to dwell in us, the greater the degree of the\nsupernatural which functions in and through us. We are, as previously stated,\nbecoming "naturally supernatural," and "supernaturally\nnatural." His glory becomes an innate part of our existence.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Throughout\npast generations spanning the centuries, as Holy Spirit has been bringing Truth\nto the Bride leading her ever closer to the fulfillment Jesus Christ has waited\nfor, Satan has contaminated things by making God's people believe that it was\nwrong for the glory of the Lord -- in them<\/b> -- to receive the\nproper acclaim. Where else is the glory of the Lord to be manifested, pray\ntell? In outer space? In the clouds? In some building which has the words\nengraved on a cornerstone, "ERECTED TO THE GLORY OF GOD?"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nSpirit of Glory is not something inanimate! He is a living being, a functioning\ndivine personality who is part of the corporate existence and<\/span> <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> <\/span>of\nthe Godhead. When He comes to dwell in us and manifest Himself through us, that\nwhich is manifested is still to His credit, praise, and glory! Its O.K. to\nbless the doctor, the lawyer, the breadmaker<\/span> or the\ncandlestick maker for their efforts, but the true credit and praise and glory\nbelongs to Holy Spirit, to the Lord Jesus Christ, to Father God.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

There's\nstill more to share on the Spirit of Glory, and I'd like to take a slightly\ndifferent approach than we've shared thus far, but I think I'll hold that for\nnext week.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Over\nthe months I have shared various prophetic words from people whose integrity in\nGod we trust implicitly -- those whose prophetic utterances come straight from\nthe heart of the Lord. Paul Keith Davis is one such brother in the Lord, and it\nisn't simply just Paul Keith as a single individual. His wife, Wanda, and\ndaughter, Natalie Victoria, and son, Caleb, all have similar prophetic gifting.\nNatalie shared an excellent word a few days ago, and I would like to excerpt a\nportion of that to pass along today. You can read her entire word at\nElijahList.com.<\/span><\/i><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The Lord\nyearns for our attention, our focus, and our company. It is His desire to spend\nextensive time with us as any bridegroom would want with his bride. He longs\nfor relationships with us that are so real and so deep that we hear His\nheartbeat. That is what I hear the Holy Spirit calling us to.<\/span><\/b>
\n<\/span>God is yearning for an intimacy with us that is more than just\nSunday morning service. He desires a place in our lives that involves every\nsecond of the day devoted to Him. He longs to give us a<\/span><\/b> <\/span>Revelation 4:1-2<\/span> <\/span>encounter, saying:<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"After\nthese things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in Heaven, and the\nfirst voice which I had heard, like the sound of a trumpet speaking with me,\nsaid, 'Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after these\nthings.' Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne was standing in\nHeaven, and One sitting on the throne."<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

His Bride will be a remnant of people that will\nopen their hearts to Him and allow His secret desires to be imparted<\/span><\/b>. Our\nhearts must be broken for the things that break His. His Bride is to be a\nreflection of Him and the embodiment of His character. But we must first deny\nourselves as it says in Matthew 16:24. Denying ourselves is not done weekly, or\nwhen we feel motivated or desperate; but this denying must be done on a daily\nbasis with every waking moment surrendered to His will.<\/span><\/b>
\n
\n<\/span>Wade Taylor explained it well when he said, "This taking up\nof our cross means that we 'die' to the right to do as we please, and surrender\n'unconditionally' to the Lordship of Jesus. For us to do this, requires a\nspecific act on our part in which we vocally take this right to do as we please\nthat we gained through the transgression of Adam, and give it back to the\nLord."<\/span><\/b>
\n
\n<\/span>We were created for a great purpose that makes life truly worth\nliving. Part of that is to help bring in the fullness of His reward and to be\nrestored back into God's original plan. We must abide in Him and He in us as\nverified in<\/span><\/b> <\/span>John 15:4<\/span>:<\/span><\/b>
\n
\n<\/span>"Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear\nfruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you\nabide in Me."<\/span><\/b> 
\n
\n<\/span>When we fully yield our will to Him, He is then able to occupy us\nand provide the strength we need. In that place we will find His promised rest.\nThen we are transformed into His image and ask for great things from God. We\nwill receive them because we are so like Him that what we request is from His\nheart, not our human desires and aspirations.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
