G' Morning!<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

David Herzog is about as unconventional as they come among those\nof the prophetic community.  As I begin writing this Coffee Break, I've\njust finished streaming his time of sharing, teaching and prophesying at Paul\nKeith Davis' S.O.S. gathering for this week.  Although he shared a whole\nlot tonight, one thing in particular really stands out. <\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I'd\nventure to say that there's not a one of us who hasn't prayed for healing or\ndeliverance or resurrection for someone.  Ever wonder why we don't see\nmore results?  OK, think about it like this.  Your Aunt Sally has\ncancer and you're praying for her to be healed.  Everything in you says\nthat you're praying according to the will of God.  You know the Word of\nGod!  You know -- at least you quote the Scripture from I Peter 2:24 from\ntime to time -- that<\/span> <\/span>"Who\nhis own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to\nsins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed<\/u>." <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

It's\nan accomplished fact!  Right?  Jesus already paid for all the healing\nwe could possibly need for every disease under the sun.  There's nothing\nHe didn't already provide for by His death and resurrection!  The\noperative phrase here is,<\/span> <\/span>"ye\nWERE healed"<\/span>.......\nPAST TENSE!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

So\nhow come Aunt Sally isn't getting better?  Why aren't you seeing the\nanswer to your fervent prayer?  Here's the problem.  Our mind -- our\nsubconscious thoughts -- are interfering.  Subconsciously, we're planning\nAunt Sally's funeral.  Here's how David Herzog put it: "We\nneed a miracle of          mind-renewal!  We\nneed an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the restoration of our minds and\nthoughts!"<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

OK? \nI could spend this whole Coffee Break on that theme, but maybe we'll come back\nto that at a later time.  Onward with our discussion on the transformation\nof our onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>! \nPour yourself a cup of some of that good really dark roasted French Roast\ncoffee and pull up a chair.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

3.<\/span><\/b>  <\/span>The \u201cTeaching\nof Baptisms\u201d<\/b><\/span> releases\nwithin our onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> two\nthings essential to our transformation.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nfirst is baptism in water, which signifies our agreement with, and testimony\nto, the efficacy of Jesus\u2019 shed blood on the Cross.  Jesus\u2019 death on the\nCross was an event with legal implications.  His blood represented \u201clife\nfor life.\u201d  He allowed Himself to be murdered by Satan so that the\nsentence of death hanging over the human race could be nullified.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Nearly\n20 years ago, I wrote an Open Letter to the Ekklesia<\/span>\ntitled, It is Finished<\/i><\/b>.  Parts of that article have\nbeen quoted from time to time in various Coffee Breaks in which we have talked\nabout the necessity of canceling Satan\u2019s legal hold over the human race.\n A Plan was set in motion before time began which would provide the means\nfor us as created beings to overcome and defeat his authority in our\nlives.  Jesus fulfilled the first and most essential part of that plan by\nbeing murdered on the Cross, by taking with Himself on the cross all of our\nbondages to Satan, all of our failings, all of our sicknesses and diseases \u2013\nand Satan himself \u2013 to the death!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Then\nHe nullified death by rising from the dead on the third day.  By so doing,\nHe set the stage for all who would agree with His position as the Son of God,\nthe King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the Bridegroom who eagerly awaited His\nBride, all who would agree with His death and resurrection, all who would agree\nwith His  ascendancy and superiority over Satan, and empowered them to die\nand rise again from the dead even as He had done.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nsimple act of agreement with Jesus\u2019 power over death was demonstrated in water\nbaptism.  The \u201cagreer<\/span>\u201d died as he or she was\nimmersed \u2013 buried, if you will \u2013 under the   water.  The \u201cagreer<\/span>\u201d then rose from the dead as he or she came up out of\nthe water.  The act of agreement with Jesus Christ legally freed the agreeing\nindividual from any penalties for sin which would have been incurred as slaves\nto Satan.  The act of water baptism testified before the Universal Court,\nand before Satan and all his cadre of evil spirits, that their legal hold was\nbroken.  This, however, was only the first phase of the \u201cteaching of\nbaptisms.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nsecond phase was being baptized in the Holy Spirit.  Baptism in the Holy\nSpirit was the means by which those who agreed with all that Jesus Christ had\ndone, was     doing, and had purposed for them, enacted\nlegally their acquiescence to being betrothed to Jesus Christ.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

It\nsignified their willingness to be taken into \u201cthe King\u2019s house,\u201d even as Esther\nhad done, to begin the \u201ctime of preparation and thlipsis<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>\u201d in order to be  \n       readied as a co-equal counterpart for the King\nof Kings.  Baptism in the Holy Spirit also set the stage for the\n\u201cbetrothed\u201d to begin receiving her dowry: the gifts which were the promise of\nthings to come \u2013 a foretaste of the changed onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>, the promise of being \u201clike\nHim.\u201d  That dowry \u2013 those gifts \u2013 were to be manifested as that which we\nhave come to refer to as \u201cthe gifts of the Spirit.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let\nme pause for just a moment.  Are you seeing the picture of\n\u201cfoundations?\u201d  Are you beginning to understand how all of these things\nare only the \u201cbaby basics\u201d \u2013 how they must precede true intimate relationship\nwith Jesus Christ?  Salvation does not\ncreate      relationship with Jesus Christ \u2013 it only\nsets part of the foundation for that relationship.  Faith in God does not\ncreate relationship, but it is essential to our existence if a relationship is\nto develop.  Baptisms do not create relationship \u2013 they set the stage for\nour preparation by the Holy Spirit for that relationship.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

4.<\/span><\/b> <\/span> \u201cThe Laying on of\nHands\u201d<\/b><\/span> <\/span>brings us to another foundation\nfundamental: the     impartation (or actual transmission)\nof the power of Jesus\u2019 onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>. \nOne of the basics of a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ necessitates the\ntransference of that which we generally refer to as \u201cthe baptism in the Holy\nSpirit,\u201d as well as His healing virtue, and the dynamic of true revelation\nwhich comes through and by the Spirit.  The    transference\nof that dunamis<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> (power,\n\u201cdynamite\u201d) is consummated through the physical touch which comes when a person\nalready imbued lays hands upon another who is asking for \u201cthe baptism of the\nHoly Spirit,\u201d healing, etc.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Generally\nimplied \u2013 although there are exceptions to this \u2013 is the fact that the\none  laying hands upon another has already entered into a place of\nrelationship with Jesus Christ, and has matured in that relationship. \nThe onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> of\nJesus Christ must have already been at least partially developed for that\ntransference to occur.  While the laying on of hands should imply a degree\nof fellowship and intimacy between the individual (who performs the act) and\nJesus Christ, it is not necessarily an indicator of that.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

By\nway of illustration, when our son, Chris, was six years old, he was laying\nhands on other children who were suffering from various afflictions including\nlegs or arms which were too short or crippled.  In each and every case\n(without exception) a miracle of healing and\/or restoration occurred.  He\nwas not even yet baptized in the Holy Spirit when it happened.  The Lord\nsimply took the opportunity of that simple expression of faith as a means to\ndemonstrate His grace and love for those children whom Chris touched.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

He\ndid not receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit until six years later when he\nasked me to lay hands on him for that purpose.  When Mike Scudder and I\nlaid hands on Chris, he instantly received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and\nbegan to prophesy.  Not long thereafter, Chris likewise laid hands on one\nof his friends, Chris Schlotfeldt<\/span>, who\nalso    received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nlaying on of hands, therefore, is a simple fundamental of Jesus\u2019 onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>. \nIt is part and parcel of His nature and makeup; and those who respond to His\nexpressed desire to manifest His grace, or love, or power towards some\nindividual become nothing more than a vehicle or a pipeline for His onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>. \nBy the laying on of hands, the Holy Spirit chooses to move through one\nindividual into another; and then into another, and then into another, etc.,\netc., ad infinitum, until the heart\u2019s desire of the Bridegroom be accomplished\nand fulfilled.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

5.<\/span><\/b>  <\/span>\u201cThe\nResurrection of the Dead\u201d<\/span><\/b> <\/span>encompasses both the\nspiritual and the natural realm.  This is one of the most basic of truths\nat the foundation of all relationship with Jesus Christ.  First and\nforemost, it has spiritual significance and importance.  It is this\ndimension which is of greatest concern to the Lord \u2013 and probably the one to\nwhich we have accorded the least attention.  From the moment Adam and Eve\npartook of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, they (and\nall their descendants) became infected with what I have come to refer to as the\n\u201cknowledge virus.\u201d  Beyond the consequences imposed upon their natural,\nphysical beings, (i.e., death) their spiritual genetic makeup also became\ninfected.  Every human being born into this world since has had an\nappointment with death.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That\nit has been, first and foremost, a death of the spirit is demonstrated among\nthose who make \u201cknowledge\u201d to become the<\/b> priority of their\nexistence.  That knowledge inflates the ego and the self-will, leading\nindividuals to walk according to that which they have learned intellectually,\nsetting aside the responses of the spirit to the Lord (because they are not\nlogical to the trained mind).  The more they rely on their\nown      intellect and mental skills, the more this\n\u201cknowledge virus\u201d becomes ensconced as the HIV of the spirit.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

An\naging scientist friend of ours lamented one day in a luncheon conversation with\nus that he would give all that he has to know the Lord personally and enjoy the\nrevelation he has seen us walk in on a daily basis, but that he just can\u2019t seem\nto set aside the reasonings<\/span> of his mind.  I said\nto him, \u201cMy friend, your problem is that you are so brilliant, you are\nstupid.\u201d  (A former colleague of Einstein\u2019s, he has an IQ exceeding 200.)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Dr.\nJoe intellectually assents to the knowledge of God and the claims of Jesus\nChrist, has even prayed \u201cthe sinners\u2019 prayer,\u201d but is completely lacking in a\npersonal relationship, and readily admitted that he cannot cope with spiritual\nthings because \u201cthey don\u2019t make any sense.\u201d  He has become a victim of the\n\u201cknowledge virus.\u201d Without deliverance from that virus none of us can walk in\nthe Spirit.  Stated another way, Joe's \u201cknowledge\u201d and brilliant mind are\nseparating him from a living relationship with Jesus Christ.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

John\nthe Baptist prophesied of Jesus on the day of his baptism in the Jordan river,<\/span> <\/span>\u201cAnd now the axe is laid to the root of the tree.\u201d<\/span> <\/span>(Matthew\n3:10)  What tree?  The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. \nWith Jesus\u2019 resurrection from the dead, therefore,\nHe      reversed the course of the \u201cknowledge virus\u201d\nfor all those who would become one with Him, making it possible once again to\nhave the same intimate love-relationship that Adam and Eve experienced during\nall those years they walked and talked with Him in the Garden.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

For\nAdam and Eve, death first occurred for them in the realm of the spirit when\nthey ate of the fruit of that tree.  The immediate consequence was their\nforcible eviction from the Garden and separation from intimacy with the\nLord.  Jesus\u2019 first priority, therefore, was to<\/span> <\/span>\u201clay the axe to the root of the tree,\u201d<\/span> severing the\npossibility of a recurrence of that death; and then raise from the dead all\nthose who would choose to enter into life in the spirit with Him.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

During\nthe three and a half years of His public ministry, He demonstrated His power\nover all death by raising the dead.  He sent forth His disciples with the\ncommand,<\/span> <\/span>\u201cHeal\nthe sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons; freely you have\nreceived: freely give.\u201d<\/span> (see\nMatthew 10:8)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

None\nof them had been raised from the dead in the natural realm, but all had been\nraised up in the spirit.  Thus, they were able to give what they had\nreceived.  And they went forth doing just that: healing the sick,\ncleansing the lepers, raising the dead, casting out demons, etc.  This\nshould be the hallmark of all those who live in a place of genuine relationship\nwith Jesus Christ.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Both\nDella and I have experienced raising the dead on at least two different\noccasions each.  On one occasion, I was the one who was raised from the\ndead.  My father was raised from the dead as a six-year-old and given to\nthe Lord as a direct part of that incident.  Most of you are aware of\nDella\u2019s part in raising Marcia from the dead after she was killed in an\naccident a little over three years ago.  This is, and should be, the norm\nfor all of us \u2013 not the exception.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Resurrection\nfrom the dead was first established by our Bridegroom, Jesus Christ, on our\nbehalf.  It was not a mark of our relationship with Him.  He did it\nso that we could have an intimate relationship together without the curse of\nthe Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil hanging over our heads.  He did\nit so that our onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> could\nbe changed to compliment His onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

He\nlikewise gives it to those who will enter into that place of love and intimacy\n\u2013 not so they can prove that they have a relationship with Him, but that His\nheart\u2019s desire will be met for a completed Bride.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Next week I'll try to wrap up this series as we conclude with The\nDoctrine of Eternal Judgment, and do a final overview of God's purposes and\ndestiny for us as His people.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n
