ANOTHER COFFEE BREAK: APHIEMI HEALING, Part 2<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>

November 1, 2013<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

As you all know, we've been doing these world-wide healing\nconference calls on Mondays, Wednesday's and Fridays. On one of these Coffee\nBreaks a few weeks ago I mentioned how the Lord had healed George Robinson's\nshoulder and -- from what we can see -- literally gave him a new shoulder out\nof the "parts room" in Heaven. It has happened again, and this time\nwith George's heart.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

We have mentioned on a few occasions that George needed healing\nfor his heart and that he has (in times past) suffered several heart attacks,\ntwo or three of which resulted in his flat-lining. On each occasion the Lord\nhas raised George back to life. The problem has been, however, that his heart\nwas still in need of being replaced with a new one.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Early this week, George called us and he was in serious trouble\nagain with his heart. We went to prayer over the issue, and this time we called\nfor a new heart for George out of the parts room in Heaven. He called me a\ncouple of days ago and said he woke up feeling really energized. He decided to\ngo to the health club and do a work out. After a couple hours or so of weight\nlifting, running on the treadmill and doing a number of other exercises, he\nwent home and began cleaning out the pond in his back yard. Besides cleaning\nout dead leaves, he had to pull grass and weeds from the pond (and of course,\nthat takes some effort).<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

The catch here is that the pond is down a hill in his back yard.\nIn times past, every time he had climbed that hill back up to the house, he\nsuffered shortness of breath and even chest pains on occasion. This time George\nclimbed the hill without a single symptom of breathing issues and was still\nfull of energy when he got back up to the house. He called me and his reaction\nwas, "It's so cool!" Riiiiggghhhhttt<\/span>! See\nwhat God does? What He did for George, and what He's done for me, He will most\ncertainly do for you. Join us on our healing calls.  <\/p>\n\n

Let's\ncontinue where we left off last week and begin with Mark 9:41-50 from the\nAmplified Version:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

"For I tell you\ntruly, whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to and<\/i> bear\nthe name of Christ will by no means fail to get his reward.<\/span> <\/span>And\nwhoever causes one of these little ones (these believers) who acknowledge and<\/i> cleave\nto Me to stumble and<\/i> sin, it would be better (more profitable\nand wholesome) for him if a [huge] millstone were hung about his neck, and he\nwere thrown into the sea.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

"<\/span>And if\nyour hand puts a stumbling block before you and<\/i> causes you to\nsin, cut it off! It is more profitable and<\/i> wholesome for you\nto go into life [that is really worthwhile] maimed than with two hands to go to\nhell (Gehenna<\/span>), into the fire that cannot be put out.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

"<\/span>And if\nyour foot is a cause of stumbling and<\/i> sin to you, cut it off!\nIt is more profitable and<\/i> wholesome for you to enter into life\n[that is really worthwhile] crippled than, having two feet, to be cast into\nhell (Gehenna<\/span>).<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

"And if your eye\ncauses you to stumble and<\/i> sin, pluck it out! It is more\nprofitable and<\/i> wholesome for you to enter the kingdom of God\nwith one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell (Gehenna<\/span>),<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"<\/span>Where\ntheir worm [which preys on the inhabitants and is a symbol of the wounds\ninflicted on the man himself by his sins] does not die, and the fire is not put\nout.<\/span> <\/span>For\neveryone shall be salted with fire.<\/span> <\/span>Salt is good (beneficial), but if salt has lost its saltness<\/span>, how will you restore [the saltness<\/span>\nto] it? Have salt within yourselves, and be at peace and<\/i> live\nin harmony with one another."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Jesus\nis getting at something here that many Christians seem to miss out on. So many\nfolks suffer from chronic diseases and ailments. They ask for prayer for\nhealing, they read the promises in the Word relating to healing and often quote\nthose scriptures to themselves. Many of these same people understand the\nconcept of speaking the Word and having a proper confession, and yet complete\nhealing seems to be just beyond their grasp.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Sadly,\nlots of folks give up when they don't receive their healing after repeated\nprayers and "proper confessions," and many fall prey to the lie of\nSatan which says, "Well, it just must not be God's will for you to\nbe healed. You just need to bear your cross (spoken, of course, in a whiny,\nreligious voice). After all, let's not forget Paul's thorn in the flesh."<\/i><\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Wheww<\/span><\/span>!!! What a pile of\nreligious horse puckey<\/span>!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Jesus\nmost certainly did not suffer all those stripes -- stripes I might add that\nleft him looking like nothing more than a mass of bloody and ripped flesh and\nalmost unrecognizable as a human being -- because he wanted some folks to\ncontinue on in their sicknesses, diseases and infirmity! He paid for all of it,\nPERIOD!! There's no such thing as it being necessary for some folks to be sick\nand some folks to be healed. What a lie!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Well,\nlet's begin breaking down these statements that Jesus made and show you the\nrelationship between each of these comments and our ability to receive and\nretain our healing for the long term. I'm going to move back and forth between\nthese verses of scripture, but let me begin with the statements in Verse 43.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

"<\/span>And if\nyour hand puts a stumbling block before you and<\/i> causes you to\nsin, cut it off! It is more profitable and<\/i> wholesome for you\nto go into life [that is really worthwhile] maimed than with two hands to go to\nhell (Gehenna<\/span>), into the fire that cannot be put\nout."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

This\nis a revelatory statement. The reference to one's hand is a reference to the\nway one conducts business. The Hebrew text in the Old Testament uses the\nword, yamiyn<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>,\nand the Greek text of the New Testament uses the word, cheir<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>. In both instances, the\ntranslation from Hebrew and Greek is a representation of power; it represents\nan instrument or a means of conducting business, and it is a representation of\none's strength.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Scripture\nis full of examples of the use of the hand, and especially the right hand. Take\na quick look at some statements David makes in the Psalms.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Psalm\n20:6: <\/span>Now know I that the Lord saveth<\/span> His\nanointed; He will hear him from His holy Heaven with the saving\nstrength of His right hand<\/u>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Psalm\n21:8: <\/span>Thine<\/span><\/u><\/span> hand shall find out all thine<\/span> enemies<\/span><\/u>: thy right hand shall find out<\/u> those that hate\nthee.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Then\nwe have this contrasting illustration.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Psalm\n26:9-10: <\/span>Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody\nmen: in whose hands is mischief<\/u>, and their right hand is\nfull of bribes<\/u>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Now\ntake a look at some references in which the hand is an example of business\nendeavor.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Psalm\n78:54: <\/span>And He brought them to the border of His sanctuary, even to this\nmountain which His right hand had purchased<\/u>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Psalm\n80:15-17: <\/span>And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted<\/u>,\nand the branch that thou madest<\/span> strong for thyself.\nIt is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy\ncountenance. Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand<\/u>, upon the\nson of man whom thou madest<\/span> strong for thyself.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

This\nis a tiny fraction of several hundred such illustrations scattered throughout\nthe Word. Are you beginning to see the picture? Do you understand what Jesus is\nsaying when he makes reference to one's hand putting a stumbling block before\nthem and causing them to sin?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Let's\ngo back to Mark 9:41-42:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Jesus\nis referring to offenses -- offenses that we bring toward others, as well as\nseizing the opportunities to do even the littlest thing for someone, something\nas tiny as just bringing a cup of water to someone who thirsts and bringing it\nin the name, the character, the life, the makeup of the Lord Jesus Christ.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

As\nrepresentatives of the Lord Jesus Christ, and as ambassadors and\nrepresentatives of the Kingdom of God, every action and every reaction we have\nor take is a reflection on Him. He promises to reward every individual who\nperforms even the littlest task when it is done in, by and through Him. Believe\nme, when He says He will reward you, that's exactly what He will do!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

There\nis a corollary to this, however, and it is the opposite side of this equation.\nIf anyone who represents the Lord Jesus Christ causes a "little one"\n-- a relatively new believer -- to stumble and\/or give up in their spiritual\nwalk, there are huge consequences. As Jesus puts it, it would be more\nprofitable for the Kingdom of God that the one who offends or causes someone\nelse -- whether that "someone" is a friend, an acquaintance, a\nstranger, or even a member of their own family -- to stumble and fall in their\nwalk with the Lord, that person is better off having a millstone hung about their\nneck so that they are weighted down, cast into the sea and drowned.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Pretty\nstrong, isn't it? But we live under Grace, don't we? True, but Grace is not an\nexcuse or justification, or some reason why we should escape the consequences\nof our offenses.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Let\nme take this illustration the next step. Pay attention to something that Paul\nwrites to the Ekklesia<\/span> in Corinth. He says this\nwithin the context of eating and drinking at the Table of the Lord. (See I\nCorinthians 11:28-30 with my additions)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

"But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that<\/i> bread,\nand drink of that<\/i> cup. For he that eateth<\/span>\nand drinketh<\/span> unworthily (carelessly), eateth<\/span> and drinketh<\/span> damnation to\nhimself, not discerning (not recognizing those among you who are a part of) the\nLord\u2019s body (the body of Christ). For this cause many are<\/i> weak\n(suffer from infirmities) and sickly (with diseases) among you, and many sleep\n(die prematurely)."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Let's\ntry this one more time but fully amplified from the Greek text:<\/span> <\/span>"But\nlet a man place himself for examination in the crucible by eating of that bread\nand drinking of that cup, because he that eats and drinks treating the bread\nand the cup as commonplace, incapable and unfit to accomplish in him [that for\nwhich Christ died on the Cross] eats and drinks judgment to himself, not\nseparating or discriminating between that which is ordinary and the Lord's\nbody. For this reason many are weak, sickly, infirm, diseased and\npoverty-stricken, and many die prematurely."<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Now\ndo you get the picture? Good! Then let's get to the offense of the hand and\nre-do Jesus' statement, clarifying it by (greatly) amplifying the Hebrew\nmetaphor.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"And if the way\nyou conduct business, if the way you exercise your influence and power on a\npersonal level causes you to err or depart from a walk or a way of life that is\nobedient and responsive to the Lord Jesus Christ, cut off that business; cease\nin the way you exercise your influence or authority. It is far more profitable\nfor you as a member of the body of Christ to go through life without being in\nthat business or living your life in a manner that draws attention to your\npower and authority and position, and to live a life that is productive in\nChrist through your place of weakness rather than live an unproductive life spiritually\nand lose everything you've got in God heading into the fires of destruction,\nand suffering a burning that you cannot quench."<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

OK,\nI know that's a bit expansive, but it is important that you understand the\nsignificance of what Jesus is getting at.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

We're\ntalking about healing in this discussion, so let's get to the crux of why Jesus\nis focusing on your "hand" as the symbol of the way you conduct\nbusiness, and the way you exercise power, authority or influence, and how this\nrelates to chronic disease or infirmity.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

"The\nburning that you cannot quench" is a picture of a disease that is like a\nfire inside you that consumes your flesh. The text of the Amplified Version we\nbegan this discussion with describes it as "<\/span>the worm [which preys on the inhabitants and is a symbol\nof the wounds inflicted on the man himself by his sins<\/u>] does not die, and\nthe fire is not put out.<\/span>"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

We\nare talking about infirmities and diseases that men and women bring upon\nthemselves by their own sins. These are the sicknesses, the places of weakness,\nthe diseases and chronic afflictions that people pray over, they declare over,\nthey attempt to speak the word of faith, they agree that "by His stripes\nwe are healed," and yet the diseases stay on and on and on without seeming\nremedy of any kind.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Is\nthere a remedy? Is there healing and restoration from these chronic illnesses?\nYes, there is! That healing begins with true repentance, and repentance is NOT\nsaying to the Lord, "I'm sorry." Repentance is turning away from that\nwhich brought you to this place. Repentance is a turning back. The Greek\nterm, metanoeo<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>,\nmeans:<\/span> <\/span>to\nthink differently, to change the way you have thought about things, to\nreconsider and do things differently<\/span><\/u><\/b>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

The\napplication of repentance in this instance is to cut off that area or type of\nbusiness you've been involved in and with, or to begin to conduct business\naccording to Kingdom principles. Remember the rich publican, Zacchaeus<\/span>? The guy that had cheated folks in business? When\nJesus saw him sitting in the tree, He said to him, "Zacchaeus<\/span>,\ncome on down. I'm coming over to your house today."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Naturally\nall the religious folks standing around began to criticize Jesus for\nassociating with a guy whose business ethics were less than acceptable. Here's\nhow Luke describes what happened next:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

"And Zacchaeus<\/span> stood, and said\nunto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I\nhave taken anything from any man by false accusation, I restore him<\/i> fourfold. And\nJesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch<\/span> as he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of\nman is come to seek and to save that which was lost."<\/span> <\/span>(Luke\n19:8-10)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

THAT,\nfolks was true repentance. And with that repentance came Jesus'<\/span> <\/span>aphi\u00e9mi<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>. Zacchaeus<\/span>'\npast was eradicated. He was a different businessman from that day forward.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Well,\nwe've only begun to scratch the surface on this. Next week we'll take up the\npicture of one's foot offending them and draw some pictures for you from the\nWord.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
