ANOTHER COFFEE BREAK: THE SPIRIT OF JEZEBEL, Part 5<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Good, Good, Good Morning! Wired up? Are ya<\/span>\ncookin<\/span>\u2019 today? Got your coffee poured, yet? You\u2019re drinkin<\/span>\u2019 the good stuff today, aren\u2019t you? Dark Roast?\nColumbian, or maybe Ethiopian, or perhaps Jamaican Blue Mountain? Hehehehehe<\/span>\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

If\nthere is any hallmark of the spirit of Jezebel, or some particular\ncharacteristic that sums up and describes its overall purpose, it would be\n\u201cusurper.\u201d The primary objective of the spirit of Jezebel is to usurp\nthe operational authority of the Lord Jesus Christ<\/u> in those who are\nanointed and appointed by the Holy Spirit to minister, to present\nitself as THE voice of the Lord<\/u> instead, and to take control<\/u> of\nthe leadership of God\u2019s people. See that word, \u201ccontrol\u201d? It goes with\nmanipulation. It\u2019s called witchcraft.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Now,\nlet\u2019s resume our continuing look at more of the descriptive characteristics of\nthe Spirit of Jezebel as outlined in Revelation 2:20-23.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Most\nof us think of false prophets and false prophetesses as being folks who stand\nup and make predictions about future events that go wrong. Unfortunately, that\ncompletely misses the whole picture of what prophecy is all about, and what a\nprophet \u2013 true or false \u2013 is all about.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Only\nthe tiniest part of prophecy is about foretelling events to come, and we\nmistakenly refer to ministers or leaders within the body of Christ as \u201cfalse\nprophets\u201d if they predict something that doesn\u2019t unfold in exactly the manner\nthey describe. Real prophecy comes out of the character and makeup of the Lord\nJesus Christ. Jesus spent very little of His teaching and preaching dealing\nwith future events, and yet He IS the Spirit of Prophecy.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

John\nwrote in Revelation 19:10b, <\/span>\u201c\u2026your brethren that have\nthe witness and evidence of Jesus worship God: for the witness and evidence of\nJesus is the Spirit of Prophecy.\u201d <\/span>(My translation)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Does\nthat make sense to you? We can come back to this later, if necessary, but I\nwant to show you how the spirit of Jezebel counterfeits this witness and\nevidence.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

One\nof the biggest evidences of this spirit in the body of Christ is the very\nseductiveness of it. I\u2019ll get to the fornication part momentarily.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Stop\nand think about this for a second. How do you seduce someone who is a\nBible-believing Christian? How do you entrap them with words that are\nseductive?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Seduction,\nby its very nature, uses pleasant thoughts, draws mental images with carefully\nchosen words that sound good and \u2013 in this case \u2013 usually quotes verses of\nScripture to support enticement to disobedience. The biggest area of seduction\nis self-justification for committing sin. The enticement comes in making you\nfeel OK about your disobedience to the Word of the Lord.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

The\nenticement is doctrines that please the flesh, allowing Christians to avoid the\ndisciplines of the Gospel and permitting them a route of escape from the\nnecessary processing of the Holy Spirit.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

The\nseduction is the teaching of doctrines that make you believe that you are just\nfine where you are in the Lord \u2013 that healing the sick, raising the dead,\nperforming miracles and doing the works that Jesus did (never mind doing\ngreater works! were ONLY for the apostles, or for a select few chosen by the\nLord; that all of this passed away out of the life of the body of Christ in the\nsecond century AD with the death of the last of the apostles.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

The\nbody of Christ today is peppered with many of these doctrines. Let me cite and\nenumerate just a few for your edification.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

1.\nSpeaking in tongues is of the Devil.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n

2.\nThe gifts of the Spirit died out with the apostles.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n

3.\nGod picks and chooses those whom He heals.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n

4.\nIt is not the will of God to heal everyone.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n

5.\nPoverty is God's will, and it is correspondingly more spiritual for Christians\nto live in need with just barely enough to get by.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n

6.\nThe "Prosperity Doctrine" is a lie. Jesus never wanted His followers\nto be wealthy.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n

7.\nWho do you think you are to believe that you can heal the sick, raise the dead\nand cast out demons?<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n

8.\nSatan is almost as powerful as God and Christians need to really be careful in\nhow they address him.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n

9.\nGod kills certain people and "takes" them out of this world when\ntheir time is up.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n

10.\nIf you don't keep all of the Ten Commandments, you can't go to Heaven.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n

11.\nPeople who cast out evil spirits are doing so by the power of Satan.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n

12.\nWomen have no place of leadership within the body of Christ because they are\ncommanded to keep silence.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n

13.\nBecause Eve was the one deceived, women cannot fill any of the five-fold\nministries in the body of Christ.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

The\nseduction \u2013 AND THE FORNICATION \u2013 comes in compelling people to be obedient to\nthe Law (and\/or more importantly, man-made interpretations and applications of\nthe Law) AND live under the Grace of Jesus Christ. The fornication comes into\nthe picture because people say they love the Lord Jesus Christ (and they\nbelieve that they do!), that they have accepted the atonement for their sins\nthrough His death and resurrection, while at the same time placing upon them\nrequirements of the Law with obedience to Mosaic commandments and statutes.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

The\napostle Paul put it like this (See Galatians 2:16-20), <\/span>\u201cKnowing that a man is not justified by the works of the\nlaw<\/u>, but by the faith of Jesus Christ<\/u>, even we have believed in\nJesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ<\/u>,\nand not by the works of the law<\/u>: for by the works of the law shall\nno flesh be justified\u2026\u2026<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

"For I through the law am dead to the law<\/u>, that I\nmight live unto God. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not\nI, but Christ liveth<\/span> in me: and the life which I now\nlive in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave\nhimself for me.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

One\ncannot be married (using the metaphor of Bridegroom (Jesus) and Bride (us) to\nthe Lord and then run to the Law for mental (read that: reasoning or logical)\nor emotional satisfaction. It is impossible to keep the Law and please the\nLord. One does not keep the Law by faith because the Law holds power over the\nflesh \u2013 NOT the spirit. Flesh can have no faith: faith is a function of our\nspirit working through our love of the Lord Jesus Christ.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

To\nsupposedly claim we love the Lord, therefore, and then justify ourselves by the\nLaw is to commit adultery. Are you seeing now the seduction of the Spirit of\nJezebel?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

This\nis a spirit which entices men and women to measure themselves and their\nrighteousness according to the Law \u2013 and quotes a bazillion scriptures to\njustify it, thus negating Jesus\u2019 redemptive work on the Cross on our behalf and\nmaking salvation of none effect.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

If\nthe Spirit of Prophecy is the Word of God, consider then the deadly nature of\nthe spirit of Jezebel calling itself a \u201cprophetess\u201d (or in the case of it\ntaking up residence and operating through a man, a \u201cprophet\u201d). This spirit\nstands in many pulpits today \u2013 both in men and women \u2013 usurping the name, the\nauthority and the power of the Lord Jesus Christ, all the while passing itself\noff as speaking in the name of, and on behalf of, the Lord.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Those\nthat succumb to its voice and its seductive deception (usually) unknowingly\ncommit spiritual fornication and adultery by virtue of doing things either\ndirectly contrary to the expressed will of God, or setting aside and ignoring\nthe demonstration of the Spirit and Power.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

The\nspirit of Jezebel is usually very selective in the choice of people it has\naround it, and those so afflicted become spiritually effeminate and powerless,\nlacking in true authority but reveling in a show of pretended authority along\nwith lots of public recognition, praise and adulation. Those so afflicted come\nunder the control and manipulation of a spirit of witchcraft that works hand in\nhand.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

The\nspirit of Jezebel, you see, IS a spirit of witchcraft and sorcery. It\u2019s entire\npurpose for existing is to entice men and women, to control them and to\nmanipulate them with lies and seduction in such a way that they are rendered\nimpotent as Christians. They become spiritual homosexuals or lesbians, making\nlove to one another instead of having a true Bride\/Bridegroom relationship that\nproduces spiritual offspring.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

One\nof the manifestations of the spirit of Jezebel and its operation in churches\ntoday is the acceptance of, or presence of just about every kind of sexual\nperversion known to man. This is the driving spirit behind physical\nhomosexuality and physical lesbianism, and churches that pervert the authority\nof the Lord Jesus Christ are often populated with sexual perverts and \ndeviants.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Strong\nstuff, I know, but the body of Christ needs a housecleaning! It\u2019s time for\nChristians to wake up and realize just how impotent this spirit has rendered\nthem, and the fellowships of which they are a part.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Don\u2019t\nsomebody, please, now suggest that I hate homosexuals and lesbians! I don\u2019t\nhate the people. I do<\/b> hate the sin! But that sin is just as\nforgivable as lying, cheating, stealing and every other sin. It just needs\nrepenting and renunciation from\/of in the same way one repents of every other\nsin.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

You\nsee, the lie of this perversion is its inherent lack of procreative ability.\nEVERYTHING about God\u2019s creation is predicated on the Law of Seedtime and\nHarvest. Everything is predicated on creation, the planting of seed and the\nreproduction of that seed. It requires male and female to procreate.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

The\nspirit of Jezebel wipes out our spiritual ability to procreate. It attempts to\nneuter the Word of God. It destroys the Father image of God, the Son of God,\nand the spiritual procreation that comes between the Son as the Bridegroom and\nus as His Bride.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

The\nneutering of the Word is clearly evidenced in many churches across America and\naround the world today in the fact that there is no ongoing spiritual\nprocreation. People aren\u2019t coming to Jesus Christ, being saved, healed,\ndelivered, growing into abundant life, being filled with the Holy Spirit, and\nthen reproducing new Christians by virtue of the new life within them. Sure,\nyou see churches where folks supposedly get \u201csaved\u201d after they respond to a\nsalvation message on Sunday morning or Sunday night, but they get stuck there!\nThere is no life in Christ that leads them to abundance, to prosperity, to\ngrowth in the Spirit, to a life of miracles one after another after another\nafter another with the Word of God coming forth through their lives in a\ndemonstration of the Spirit and of Power!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

They\ndie in their Christian baby cribs. They never grow up in God! They never learn\nwhat it is to walk in the Spirit, to live in the Spirit, to speak in the\nSpirit, to demonstrate the abundant life available in the Spirit.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

I\nwas going to tell you another personal story of an experience I had several\nyears ago to illustrate the deceptiveness of the Spirit of Jezebel and how it\nseeks to gain control in the body of Christ, but it\u2019s pretty clear that there\njust isn\u2019t time to accomplish that today. Maybe I can get to that in our next\nCoffee Break.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

The\npoint I want to leave with you today is the understanding that the false\nprophecy of Jezebel isn\u2019t so much in the fake foretelling of events; it is\nliterally embodied in the false \u201cforth telling\u201d of what supposes to be a rhema<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> or\na direct, spoken Word from the Lord to His people. That false \u201cforth telling\u201d\ncomes in the form of preaching and teaching \u2013 and prophesying, although usually\nthe prophesying of extremes.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Those\nextremes either come in the form of dire warnings of doom and gloom from which\nwe must escape, or they come in the form of spiritual niceties, great\nabundance, health, wealth and prosperity MINUS any teaching or understanding of\nwhat it takes in the way of obedience to walk in that abundance, health or\nwealth.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Folks\nget lulled to sleep with this garbage, or led down some primrose path following\nsome leader who hasn\u2019t a clue to what the Holy Spirit is saying and doing in\nthe earth today. Thus, they get sucked in by false prophecy, seduced and\nenticed by words that please their fleshly nature, and they commit fornication\nor adultery with the Lord through their unfaithfulness to Him.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

We\nstill need to cover that portion of the eight characteristics that depict the\nnature and character of this spirit which deal with the inherent lack of\nability to repent, and that\u2019s where we will go with it next week.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n
