ANOTHER COFFEE BREAK: APHIEMI HEALING, Part 5<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Howdy!<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Growing up in a traditional Pentecostal environment with parents\nwho walked and talked the life, the ministry, the gifts and the fruit of the\nHoly Spirit, there was plenty of talk about the Azusa Street Revival at the turn\nof the 20th Century and the absolutely stupendous displays of the Glory of the\nLord.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

For much of my life I've heard about one of the displays from\nthat period of time in which the Glory of the Lord manifested in the form of a\ncloud. People such as Aimee Semple<\/span> McPherson (who\nlater founded the Foursquare movement) played hide-and-seek (she was a young\ngirl at the time) with other children in the cloud that filled the room.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This past weekend, Rich Warren and I led worship at a men's\nretreat at Miracle Ranch (located on the Olympic Peninsula in western\nWashington). There was a sense of unity among the worshipers that was fabulous\nand it contributed to a flow of the presence of God like we were in a river. On\nSaturday morning, we were engrossed in the worship and just basking in the\npresence of God when someone commented on the mist that was beginning to fill\nthe room.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

A couple of the guys referred to it as "smoke" and one\nof them opened the connecting door between our conference room and the kitchen\nto see if there was smoke coming from some cooking but the kitchen was as clear\nas could be. Somebody else said, "Well, maybe it's the fireplace." I\nlooked over at the fireplace, but the fire wasn't a wood fire; it was a gas\nlog, and there was no smoke coming from it.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to it at the time, but\nrealized later that there was no smell of smoke. The air was dry in the room so\nthere was no reason for any fog or mist in the air, and yet when I looked up at\nthe overhead lights the mist was very visible. Because we were so enveloped in\nthe worship and in the very thick presence of the Lord, in the back of my mind\nit was one of those things that make you go, "Hmmmmmmmm<\/span>.........,"\nand yet I didn't really focus on it.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Not until Sunday afternoon when we had arrived back in Yakima\nand were sharing with our own fellowship did the significance of what took\nplace really grab our attention. Our oldest son, Chris, had gone with us for\nthe weekend. During a time of sharing, he commented on how he watched the mist\nfill the room during the ongoing worship. Several of the men had commented to\nus later on Saturday, and again on Sunday morning how thick the presence of the\nLord was, but we had missed the significance of the increasing mist in the room\nduring that time.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

All I can say is, Hallelujah! What a phenomenal thing to see\ntake place. Our prayer is that we will see not only the demonstration of the\npresence of the Lord with these kinds of signs, but also that we will get to\nsee the blanket healings as the worship intensifies!<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Let's\ntake a slightly different approach to aphi\u00e9mi<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> healing today. I'm\nsort of going around the horn but I will get back to the instruction that Jesus\ngives us in Mark 9. Today I'd like to focus on the power there is in the blood of\nJesus and how His blood provides the legal authority for our healing and the\neradication of the legal basis for the disease, sickness, pain and infirmity\nmany folks suffer.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Revelation\n12:10-11<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span><\/b>"<\/span><\/b>And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation,\nand strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the\naccuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and\nnight. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the\nword of their testimony<\/u>; and they loved not their lives unto the\ndeath."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

The\nnext part of this picture is in Paul\u2019s epistle to the Hebrews:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Hebrews\n1:1-3<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span><\/b>"<\/span><\/b>God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake<\/span> in time past unto the fathers by the\nprophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath\nappointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the\nbrightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding\nall things by the word of his power<\/u>, when he had by himself purged our\nsins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

The\nTable of the Lord, as we well know, consists of two things: The Bread (The\nWord), and The Cup (The Blood).<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

In\nprevious discussions we\u2019ve already noted the fact that when Jesus rose from the\ndead and appeared to the disciples, his comment to them was that a \u201cspirit hath\nnot flesh and bones, as ye see me have.\u201d He didn\u2019t say to them, <\/span>\u201ca spirit hath not flesh and blood, as ye see me have,\u201d <\/span>and the reason was\nthat Jesus had already spilled His blood as part of the act of redemption.<\/span>(Note: This is my\npersonal conviction. It isn't something I can prove definitively from\nScripture.)<\/span><\/i><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Blood\nwas replaced in Him as the source of life and power by the Spirit. Consider\nagain the fact that when God breathed first life into Adam, he became\n(according to the Hebrew context) \u201ca living, speaking spirit.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

When\nEve was taken from Adam\u2019s side, he said, <\/span>\u201cThis is\nnow bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh.\u201d<\/span> <\/span><\/i>(See Genesis 2:23)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

It\nis my growing conviction that Adam and Eve lived and breathed by the Spirit\nwhen they were first created, and that the Spirit was replaced with blood when\nsin came. Whether that is true or not is debatable, but it is certain that from\nthe moment Adam ate of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, blood\ncontaminated with death was flowing in his veins.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Consider\nnow the statement John makes when he says, <\/span>\u201cAnd they\novercame him [Satan] by the blood of the lamb, and by the word of their testimony.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

We\nsit at the Table of the Lord. Each time we eat the Bread and drink the Cup, we\ntake into ourselves the Word. That Word is made alive, energized, put into\nforce and sustained by the same Life Force that raised Jesus from the dead.\nPaul put it like this:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

I Corinthians 11:26<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span><\/b>"For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do\nshow the Lord\u2019s death till he come.<\/span>"<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Let\nme digress for just a second.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

\u201cYe do show the Lord\u2019s death till He come.\u201d<\/span> <\/span><\/i>Show who? The world? Our friends around us? Our family? The\nfamily of God?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Maybe,\nbut in this instance they aren\u2019t the ones who count. We put on display a\nreminder that Satan crucified the Lord of Glory \u2014 and he\u2019s the one being\nreminded.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

He\u2019s\nthe one seeing our display.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

He\u2019s\nthe one who sees our change from corruptible beings to incorruptible.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

He\u2019s\nthe one who sees us eat the Word and drink from the Spirit, changing from\nmortal beings with the curse of death upon us to immortals with the Spirit of\nLife in Christ Jesus flowing in our veins.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

The\nTable of the Lord is a constant display to the Enemy that we are eating from\nthe Tree of Life, demonstrating that the results -- the curse of death,\ndisease, sickness, infirmity, etc. -- of Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil\nare being negated and eradicated.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Satan\nis the one who visibly sees that his scheme has failed.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

The\nTable of the Lord is the means by which we crush the serpent\u2019s head.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

It\nis also the means by which we take to ourselves that very same force by which\nall things are upheld, energized, given force and power, made effective and\nsustained. The Greek word that Paul uses in Hebrews 1:3 where he writes\n\u201cupholding all things by the Word of His Power\u201d is phero<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>.<\/span><\/b> This word parallels the Greek energko<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/span> \u2014 the two words having\nthe same root.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

The\nword phero<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> means:\nto carry, to sustain, to bear up, to bring forward, to activate, to move from\none place to another, to apply, to endure [in the sense of lasting and lasting\nand lasting]. Phero<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> also\nmeans: to bring forward in or by speaking, to activate by the speaking of a\nthing. (You probably already are seeing another application, but we\u2019ll come\nback to this word momentarily.)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Its\ncompanion word, energko<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>,\nmeans: to energize (we get our English word \u201cenergize\u201d from this word), to put\ninto force, to activate, to bring to life. Again we return to the apostle\nPaul\u2019s phrasing in Hebrews<\/span> 1:3: <\/span>\u201cupholding all things by the Word of His Power.\u201d <\/span>Notice that he\ndoesn\u2019t say, \u201cupholding all things by the power of His Word.\u201d We know that the\nWord of the Lord has power, but that\u2019s not the right emphasis.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

This\nis the same power \u2014 the same energizing force \u2014 that existed at Creation. This\nis the power that was behind and energized the words, \u201cLight BE!\u201d Light WAS\nbecause there was an activating power and force that caused those words to have\ncreative manifestation.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

That\nactivating and energizing force was faith. Faith is that creative force. Faith\nexisted as substance before the first words of Creation were spoken. Thus Paul\nwrites:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Hebrews 11:3<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span><\/b>"<\/span><\/sup>Through faith we understand\nthat the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen\nwere not made of things which do appear.<\/span>"<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Faith\n\u2014 in and of itself \u2014 is invisible to the natural eye. That doesn\u2019t mean it\ndoesn\u2019t have substance. It does. It is! Faith is a spiritual force, a creative\nand substantive energizer which brings into this natural realm the reality of\nthat which is spoken. That\u2019s why Jesus said to the disciples, <\/span>\u201cHave God\u2019s faith!\u201d<\/span> <\/span>(Mark 11:22)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Again\nwe go back to the way that Paul described this in writing to the Romans.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Romans 10:17<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span><\/b>"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of\nGod.<\/span>"<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nGreek text actually spells it out more clearly.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

\u201cSo faith is (and comes into being) by audible report; but the report\nis the <\/span>rhema<\/span><\/i><\/span> <\/span><\/i>[the spoken and audibly delivered Word] of [and from] God.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Are\nyou now seeing the distinction?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Faith\nIS substance in the same way that the worlds came into being. God spoke. With\nHis spoken Word came the creative substance which caused the earth (and all the\nplanets, stars, galaxies, etc.) to suddenly appear. Behind God\u2019s Word was the\npower, the energizing force, the activating substance that gave life and\nimpetus to that Word.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

THAT,\nfolks is what we partake of each time we eat and drink at the Table of the\nLord! We are NOT eating of the Logos<\/span><\/i> <\/b>\u2014 <\/span>the all-encompassing body of all that God\nsaid. We are eating of the Rhema<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/b> \u2014 the direct, empowered,\nactivated and placed into force Word by Jesus command!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

We\nare eating of His body. We are eating of the very substance of the Lord\nHimself. The Word is becoming OUR flesh because there is sustaining power and\nforce to make it so!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

The\nlife force that makes it so is in the Cup. Each time we drink, we bring to\nremembrance the fact that Jesus shed blood that was filled with death, disease,\nsickness, weakness and poverty.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

What\nwe drink of, however, is the Spirit of Life that is in Christ Jesus. (See\nRomans 8:2) There is no death in the Cup. There is no disease or sickness in\nthe Cup. There is no poverty in the Cup. There is no weakness or infirmity of\nany kind in the Cup. The Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus literally embodies that\nenergizing force which <\/span>\u201cupholds all things.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

THIS\nis the power \u2014 the dunamis<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> <\/i>(explosive\npower and force) \u2014 that sustains, that makes effective, that puts force to the\nWord. We are eating of the Word Himself.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

We\nare drinking of the power that makes the Word come alive in us.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We\nare being changed from Glory to Glory. Transformation is taking place. Change\nis occurring in our spirits. We are metamorphosing into eternity-based beings.\nWe are being restored to the very image in which God first made Adam.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Now\nwe have the ability to overcome Satan <\/span>\u201cby the Blood of the Lamb,\nand by the Word of our Testimony.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

THIS\nIS THE TABLE OF THE LORD!<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

THIS\nIS OUR HEALING AND RESTORATION!<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

This\nis where true remittance -- true forgiveness -- aphi\u00e9mi<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> healing with the\neradication of all of the previous legal basis for sickness, disease, infirmity,\npoverty and weakness occurs.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n
