ANOTHER COFFEE BREAK: APHIEMI HEALING, Part 3<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>

November 8, 2013<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Good Morning! The miracles of healing continue throughout each\nweek as we watch what God is doing in the lives of folks who call in to our\nhealing conference calls. High blood pressure, stomach problems, arthritis, hip\nand leg issues, cancers of multiple varieties, vision problems, hearing issues,\npsoriasis -- you name it -- folks are being healed and delivered of these\nthings, and a whole lot more.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

As I've shared on numerous occasions, many diseases have their\norigins in one of the three families of fear: the Fear of Evil, or the Fear of\nMan, or the Fear of Death. Each of these families of fear bring on diseases\nunique to each type of fear. Perhaps I will do a set of Coffee Breaks dealing\nwith the diseases outlined in Scripture that relate to each family of \nfear.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

That said, we've been seeing folks receive deliverance from\nfear, and with that deliverance, healing for multiple afflictions in their\nbodies. Let's\ncontinue with our discussion from Mark 9:41-50 from the Amplified Version:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

"For I tell you\ntruly, whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to and<\/i> bear\nthe name of Christ will by no means fail to get his reward.<\/span> <\/span>And\nwhoever causes one of these little ones (these believers) who acknowledge and<\/i> cleave\nto Me to stumble and<\/i> sin, it would be better (more profitable\nand wholesome) for him if a [huge] millstone were hung about his neck, and he\nwere thrown into the sea.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

"<\/span>And if\nyour hand puts a stumbling block before you and<\/i> causes you to\nsin, cut it off! It is more profitable and<\/i> wholesome for you\nto go into life [that is really worthwhile] maimed than with two hands to go to\nhell (Gehenna<\/span>), into the fire that cannot be put out.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

"<\/span>And if\nyour foot is a cause of stumbling and<\/i> sin to you, cut it off!\nIt is more profitable and<\/i> wholesome for you to enter into life\n[that is really worthwhile] crippled than, having two feet, to be cast into\nhell (Gehenna<\/span>).<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

"And if your eye\ncauses you to stumble and<\/i> sin, pluck it out! It is more\nprofitable and<\/i> wholesome for you to enter the kingdom of God\nwith one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell (Gehenna<\/span>),<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"<\/span>Where\ntheir worm [which preys on the inhabitants and is a symbol of the wounds\ninflicted on the man himself by his sins] does not die, and the fire is not put\nout.<\/span> <\/span>For\neveryone shall be salted with fire.<\/span> <\/span>Salt is good (beneficial), but if salt has lost its saltness<\/span>, how will you restore [the saltness<\/span>\nto] it? Have salt within yourselves, and be at peace and<\/i> live\nin harmony with one another."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

We\ntalked about the issue of the hand, and how it relates to disease and sickness\nin the last Coffee Break. This week let's take up the next area that Jesus\naddresses from Mark 9:45 -- the issue of one's foot causing you to stumble, and\nhow this specifically relates to one's health and\/or healing.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

"<\/span>And if\nyour foot is a cause of stumbling and<\/i> sin to you, cut it off!\nIt is more profitable and<\/i> wholesome for you to enter into life\n[that is really worthwhile] crippled than, having two feet, to be cast into\nhell (Gehenna<\/span>)."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

In\nthe same way the previous statement concerning the hand was revelatory, this is\nlikewise. The reference to one's foot is a common Hebrew metaphor for that\nwhich supports you, your stability, the path of life you choose and walk in.\nThe Hebrew text in the Old Testament uses the word, regel<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>, and the Greek text of the\nNew Testament uses the word, pous<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>. Once again, the translation\nfrom either the Hebrew or the Greek represents endurance, strength, stability,\nreputation, character; it is a unique measure of time (from the standpoint of\nhow long you walk in a certain way, how long you support yourself and endure in\nsomething); and finally, it is a picture of direction -- which path you choose\nto walk in.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Let's\ntake a look at some references throughout the Word which clearly illustrate\nthese descriptions.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Our\nfirst illustration comes from Deuteronomy 28:15, 33-35, and while this\nstatement certainly figured under the Law of Moses, there is a spiritual\nprinciple I'd like to deal with which is revealed quite clearly.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of\nthe Lord<\/span> your God, to\nobserve carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you\ntoday, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:.........A\nnation whom you have not known shall eat the fruit of your land and the produce\nof your labor, and you shall be only oppressed and crushed continually. So you\nshall be driven mad because of the sight which your eyes see. The Lord<\/span> will strike you in the knees\nand on the legs with severe boils which cannot be healed, and from the sole of\nyour foot to the top of your head."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Three\nmanifestations of disobedience to the Word of the Lord -- sin, if you will --\nappear in this short passage: (1)<\/span><\/b> poverty,\ncontinual lack, having the work of your hands destroyed time  after time\nafter time; (2)<\/span><\/b> blindness\nor vision problems; and (3)<\/span><\/b> skin\nproblems and blood issues. The picture of the foot in this instance is that the\ndisease becomes so great you cannot stand or walk -- hence, you have chosen a\npath of disobedience to what God has instructed you.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Are\nyou seeing the picture? Bear with me, folks! I know there are a lot of folks\nwho will say, "Well, that's just Old Testament. We live under\nGrace and not under the Law."<\/i> Sorry, people, but it doesn't work\nthat way! Grace is not an excuse to disobey the Word of the Lord. The Spirit of\nGrace and Supplications (Zechariah 12:10) -- the fifth of the Seven Spirits of\nGod -- is not just Grace as a standalone part of God's nature: this spirit\nincludes Supplications -- intercession and prayer support -- which enable you\nto be obedient to the Word of the Lord. Think, for example, of Jesus as our\nintercessor (see Hebrews 7:25).<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

My\nfather walked and lived this before our family continually and he used to say\nto me, "Son, what God orders He pays for." <\/i>It was a\nrather simplistic way of saying, "If God directs you to do\nsomething, He will enable you to do it whether you think you can or\nnot." <\/i>I don't know who came up with this clich\u00e9, but it is\naccurate:<\/span> God doesn't necessarily call\nthose who are able or capable; He enables those whom He calls.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Make\nsense? What has God instructed you to do? What path or direction has Holy\nSpirit continually pricked your spirit with? Have you paid attention to His\nvoice or have you chosen not to obey because "that doesn't make sense, and\nbesides there's no way I could possibly do that!" Are you suffering\neyesight issues because you ignored the Word of the Lord to you? What about\nskin or blood disorders?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Let's\nmove on with our examples from the Word.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Consider\nProverbs 1:10-16: <\/span>"My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. If\nthey say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily<\/span> for the innocent without cause: Let us swallow\nthem up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the\npit: We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with\nspoil: Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse: My son,\nwalk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path: For\ntheir feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

This\nillustration is about as obvious as anything can be. It is a description of\none's foot participating in wicked activities, taking advantage of other folks,\nusing conniving, manipulation and trickery to steal or cheat them out of their\nmoney or goods (legally, of course -- Riiiiggghhhttt<\/span>!)\nin order to get rich.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

But\nthere is one more aspect of this that many Christians miss entirely, and this\none will take many well-meaning folks by surprise. It is one of the reasons why\nso many folks are poverty stricken today, and why so many people live sub-standard\nlives, health-wise.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Look\nat the warning that comes from the Lord in this statement: <\/span>'Let us all have one purse."<\/span> Do you understand the\nsignificance of this? This is the personification of wealth distribution --\ntaking from those who have the most and (in theory) distributing it so that\neveryone has an equal share. When you read it in the Hebrew text it becomes\neven more clear.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

The\nphrase, "one purse" comes from two Hebrew words, "'echad<\/span>"<\/span><\/i><\/b> (meaning:\nto unite, to collectively make as one) and "kiys<\/span>"<\/span><\/i><\/b> (meaning a pot, a cup, a\nbag, a purse -- a place to gather one's funds together). Thus, you have one\nperson who in fact is a thief gathering from everyone into a single collection.\nThe thief profits from the fact that the funds are at his disposal, because of\nthe "fees" he takes for himself as the administrator of the fund,\nwhile he distributes the remainder as he sees fit in a supposedly equitable\nfashion to "everyone." In case you hadn't already figured it out, the\nLord is warning us against the evils of socialism and collectivism.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

The\nend result is that while the thief lives in his abundance, the rest is\nsupposedly distributed in a way that no one really has quite enough. The\nwarning that the Lord gives us is, <\/span>"Refrain thy foot\nfrom their path: For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed\nblood."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Right!\nAs Jesus put it, <\/span>"The thief cometh not, but for to steal (everything you've\ngot), and to kill (and cause you to die prematurely), and to destroy (your\nhealth and your livelihood): I am come that they might have (and enjoy) life,\nand that they might have it<\/i> (in so much) more (abundance that\nit overflows and overflows) abundantly." <\/span>(John 10:10 with my\nadditions)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

By\nnow, you're getting a pretty graphic picture. People who subscribe to the\nsocialist philosophy believe the lie of Satan, and their health and welfare\nultimately suffer as a consequence.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Let's\ntake a different approach and see what happens with those whose foot is secure\nin God. Consider a portion of Psalm 91:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

"Because thou hast made the LORD, which is<\/i> my\nrefuge, even<\/i> the most High, thy habitation; There shall no\nevil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall\ngive his angels charge over thee<\/span>, to keep thee in all\nthy ways. They shall bear thee up in their<\/i> hands, lest thou\ndash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt<\/span> tread upon\nthe lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt<\/span>\nthou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I\ndeliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall\ncall upon me, and I will answer him: I will be<\/i> with him in\ntrouble; I will deliver him, and honour<\/span> him. With\nlong life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Here\nis the picture of someone whose foot is securely planted in the ways, the\nplans, the destiny that God has chosen for them. The promise prophesied in this\ninstance is that <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

(1)<\/span><\/b> no\n plague of any kind will come near you or your family.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

(2)<\/span><\/b> Angels will be your protection. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

(3) <\/span><\/b>If there is a danger that you will\n make a misstep and get off the path you are walking in, or if the Enemy places\n a stone of stumbling in your path, the angels will pick you up and keep you\n from stumbling or injuring yourself.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

(4)<\/span><\/b> You\n will have the ability to walk over (and take on) lions [a metaphor for those\n who roar against you], <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

(5)<\/span><\/b> and\n adders [a metaphor for those who twist your words against you], as well\n as <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

(6)<\/span><\/b> trampling underfoot\n the young lions [a metaphor for walled communities who set themselves against\n you] and <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

(7)<\/span><\/b> dragons [this\n is a fascinating metaphor for kings or governors or leaders who set themselves\n up with laws, rules, commands or legislation which targets you as part of the\n household of God].<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Like\nit so far? Thought so! But Wait! He's not done with His promises!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

(8)<\/span><\/b> Whenever\nyou are in danger, the Lord will not only take you out of harm's way and He\nwill place you above your enemies' reach where they can't touch you. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

(9)<\/span><\/b> You'll be able to address Him\n directly with your prayers and requests, knowing that you will have immediate\n audience with Him and the answers to your requests. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

(10)<\/span><\/b> As always, all believers and\n particularly those who walk in an intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus\n Christ will suffer persecution, affliction, trials and adversity, but His\n promise is that He will arm and equip you with everything you'll need to strip\n your enemies of their power and their power base. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

(11)<\/span><\/b> Even in the midst of the ongoing\n warfare and adversity, God will honor you and display His Glory in you in such\n a way that your enemies will know that He loves you and covers you!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Here's\n the last one of His promises in Psalm 91 to those whose foot is firmly\n established in the ways, the plans and purposes and destiny God has\n chosen: <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

(12)<\/span><\/b> He will give\n you prolonged, satisfying and rewarding life -- never mind what the doctors\n say, never mind what science says, never mind the traditions of men, never mind\n what you've seen and heard in the past -- AND He will visibly demonstrate to\n you His deliverance, His protection, His health, His prosperity (try that one\n on for size!), His salvation and His assistance in every situation!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Let's\ngo back to Mark 9:42 (with my amplifications):<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

"And whoever causes\none of these little ones (these believers) who acknowledge and<\/i> cleave\nto Me to stumble and<\/i> sin (by the way in which you allow your\nfoot -- the path you choose in opposition to God's specific direction), it\nwould be better (more profitable and wholesome) for him if a [huge] millstone\nwere hung about his neck, and he were thrown into the sea.<\/span>"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Is\nthis picture from Mark 9 becoming more and more clear to you?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

I\nsaid it before and I'll say it again. Jesus is referring to offenses --\noffenses that we bring toward others, as well as seizing the opportunities to\ndo even the littlest thing for someone, something as tiny as just bringing a\ncup of water to someone who thirsts and bringing it in the name, the character,\nthe life, the makeup of the Lord Jesus Christ.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

As\nrepresentatives of the Lord Jesus Christ, and as ambassadors and\nrepresentatives of the Kingdom of God, every action and every reaction we have\nor take is a reflection on Him. Even drawing from Psalm 91, He promises to\nreward every individual who performs even the littlest task when it\nis done in, by and through Him<\/i><\/b>. Believe me, when He says He will reward\nyou, that's exactly what He will do!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

I\nreally have only touched the surface of this part of the discussion. We're\nstill talking about aphi\u00e9mi<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> --\nthe forgiveness, eradication and permanent elimination of offenses -- and I\nhaven't even gotten to that aspect of this word in this discussion about the\nfoot offending. That's where we will pick this up next week.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n
