This\nis not the Coffee Break I'd planned to release today, but because of the\nurgency of this message to the body of Christ, it was necessary to delay the\narticle I'd written and intended for this post until next week.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I've\nshared the following story in times past, but because of its relevance to what\nthe Lord has instructed me to share today, I will briefly relate it once again.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Back\nin the late 1960's and up until 1972, I served at Full Gospel Assembly in Salt\nLake City with Bill Christopulos.This<\/span> was at a point\nin my spiritual development where I had learned many things and had many\nexperiences in the Heavenlies<\/span> and in the realm of the\nSpirit.One<\/span> of the areas, however, in which my\nspiritual development and understanding was severely under-developed was in the\nrealm of eschatology -- "End Times" doctrine.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Everything\nthat I thought I knew and understood came from the prominent prophetic teachers\nof the day; and most of them promoted an end-time doctrine which had grown out\nof the teachings of a woman by the name of Margaret MacDonald in the\nearly-to-mid 1800's, and subsequently incorporated into C.I. Schofield's\nreference bible published in the late 1890's.When the Azusa Street Revival\nbroke out after the turn of the century, Schofield's bible was THE reference\nbible for everyone to have.Schofield's<\/span> notes became\naccepted as gospel and with the growth and development of the Pentecostal\nfellowships and denominations that grew up in the 1920's and 1930's, Margaret\nMacDonald's teachings on the Rapture, the Great Tribulation, the Antichrist and\nEnd Times (it has come to be referred to as: dispensational, pre-trib<\/span> rapture<\/i>) became de rigueur<\/i> among\nPentecostals.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Naturally,\nSchofield's reference bible expanded well beyond Pentecostal realms and for\nmany years it was the standard reference bible among virtually every\nEvangelical denomination.As<\/span> a consequence, the\nMacDonald doctrines were taught as absolute revelation and truth.Most<\/span>\nEvangelical and Pentecostal bible colleges and seminaries promoted these teachings,\nand virtually everyone of the generations -- me included -- who grew up during\nthis era believed these teachings without question.Lest<\/span>\nanyone take offense to what I'm about to share, let me be clear: not everything\nthat Margaret MacDonald taught was error!At<\/span> the same\ntime, much of the teaching was founded upon some concepts which have been part\nand parcel of the body of Christ since the days when Latin was the language of\nthe church world.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

As\nalready noted, I grew up with these doctrines and believed them with my whole\nheart and soul.You<\/span> could walk into any Bible book\nstore and pick up any one of a variety of books, whether reference books, study\nbooks, prophecy books, and even fiction, all predicated on this understanding\nof the Rapture, the Great Tribulation, the Antichrist, the Mark of the Beast,\nand End Times in general.Prophecy<\/span> teachers abounded\non radio and television, all expounding on their variants of these doctrines,\nand yet mostly all agreed on the fundamental tenets.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Now\nthat I've laid that foundation, let me get to the story I wanted to share with\nyou.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

In\n1970 and 71, I was expounding on all these teachings with our Wednesday night\nbible studies.I<\/span> had all my charts together, my\nstatistics and my predictions down pat!I<\/span> was really\non a tear!It<\/span> didn't hurt, either, that our bible\nstudies were sometimes better attended than the Sunday morning services.My<\/span> ego was really pumped.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

One\nWednesday night I was putting contemporary world events into the end-time\nscenarios and expounding on who and what the antichrist would be like.It<\/span> was a particularly ego-filling night and I wrapped\nup the teaching feeling really good about myself and my ability to communicate\nthese "truths" to our congregation.No<\/span>\nsooner had I gotten home when Holy Spirit pulled the plug on me.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

As\nclearly as I've ever heard Him speak he said to me, "Are you teaching all\nthese things because you received them from me as revelation, or because you\nread them in books or heard someone else expound on them?"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

OOOOPPPPSSSSS!!!!<\/span><\/b>I knew the answer to\nthat even before He finished asking the question.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"I\nthought you and I had an agreement that you would teach or preach nothing but\nthat which I gave to you by revelation and subsequently walked out in your\nlife!"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Whewww<\/span><\/span>!!!Talk about\nlowering the boom on me!Holy<\/span> Spirit didn't have to\nsay another word.I<\/span> had to drop my head in shame and\ndisappointment realizing that I was doing nothing more than parroting what\neveryone else was saying without any consideration as to whether there was any\nreal download of revelation or impartation from Heaven concerning the return of\nthe Lord Jesus Christ or the events surrounding His return.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Without\nany further ado I put all of my books on the Second Coming together, my books\non the Antichrist, the Tribulation, my charts on End Times, and all my study notes.I<\/span> went outside and brought in a trash can and dumped\nall those books, charts, notes, etc. into it and threw them away.For<\/span>\nmore than 20 years I refused to even have a discussion with anyone on the\ntopic, and I certainly didn't teach or preach on any of it.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Not\nuntil the mid-1990's did Holy Spirit begin to really download fresh revelation\nand understanding.Still<\/span> my understanding was grossly\nincomplete and there were far too many unresolved issues.To<\/span>\nthe extent that I was able to share pieces of the picture, I did so.When<\/span> the Library of Congress first began to go online in\nthe early 90's, I had access to some archaeological findings that unfolded\nconfirmation of revelation that had been flowing and fitting pieces together\nthat I'd seen in the Word.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Without\nrealizing that I was actually sharing something that was revelatory for that period\nof time, the Lord had demonstrated for me a clear link between the picture of\nthe seven nations that Israel was commanded to overcome and drive out of the\nland of promise, and the seven letters with which John opens up Revelation.That's<\/span> not where I'm going today, however.I've<\/span> already posted a lengthy series of Coffee\nBreaks outlining that revelation.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let's\nget to the core of what I need to share with you today.Take<\/span>\na look at the very first verses of Revelation 1.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him,\nto show unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent\nand signified it<\/i> by his angel unto his servant John: Who bare record of\nthe word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he\nsaw."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Go\nback and read it again.How<\/span> does it open up?See<\/span>?"The Revelation of Jesus Christ!"OK, wait\na minute.If<\/span> you've been like me in past times you\npassed right over it.The<\/span> Book of Revelation is a\nrevelation of end times!Right?It's<\/span> a revelation of\nthe Antichrist.Sure<\/span> it is.It's<\/span>\na revelation of the Great Tribulation.Uhh<\/span> Huhh!Yup.It's<\/span> a revelation of the Mark of the Beast!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Whoaa!Wait<\/span><\/span> a minute!That's<\/span> NOT what it says!Every<\/span>\ntranslation I can lay my hands on -- even the original Greek text that I read\n-- says in no uncertain terms: "The Revelation --<\/span> <\/span>apokalupsis<\/span><\/i><\/span>: the unveiling, the manifestation, the\ndisclosure --of Jesus Christ!"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This\nis a critical distinction, folks!This<\/span> is a revelation\nof the nature, the character, the makeup, the very divine, supernatural personality,\nthe loving and authoritative character of the Lord Jesus Christ!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

But\nit is more than that.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This\nis a revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ operating IN AND THROUGH HIS BRIDE!This<\/span> is a revelation of Christ in us, and us in Him!This<\/span> is a revelation of the overcoming nature of Jesus\nChrist bred into, imparted and infused into a people against whom Satan throws\nthe full force of his power and might -- a revelation of how easily Satan is\ndefeated.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

For\nmany years I've said that the book of Revelation is a manual for spiritual warfare.It<\/span> is more than that.Sure<\/span>,\nit gives us pictures of unfolding events both prior to Jesus' return and after\nHis return.It<\/span> provides understanding -- clear\nunderstanding -- of the era in which we live.Coupled<\/span>\nwith prophetic pictures shared by both Isaiah and Daniel, we get to see what a\nthousand years of peace on earth looks like.Revelation<\/span>\nalso gives us -- and this is where I'm headed with today's discussion -- a\nclear picture of the character and makeup of just what Antichrist is.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Beyond\nthese pictures (and they are really peripheral to the grand scope), however,\nRevelation is an unveiling of the character and nature of Jesus Christ -- both\npersonally, and as manifested in His Bride -- in a very practical and\ndemonstrable way.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Remember\nPaul's prayer in Ephesians 1:17?<\/span>"That the God of our\nLord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of\nwisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him<\/u>."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This\nis what John is instructed to share as he pours out this revelation.He<\/span>\nbegins with some graphic pictures of the glory and magnificence of the Lord and\nthen shares with us how this revelation unfolded for him.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"I was in the Spirit on the Lord\u2019s day, and heard behind\nme a great voice, as of a trumpet<\/u>, 11<\/sup>Saying, I am Alpha and\nOmega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest<\/span>,\nwrite in a book, and send it<\/i> unto the seven churches which are in\nAsia....."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Notice\nthat John was "in the Spirit" when these events unfolded before him.No<\/span> amount of human reasoning and academic study can\nproduce the kind of wisdom and understanding -- the revelation, if you will --\nthat comes "in the Spirit."Without that place of revelation, things\nbegin to break down.Error<\/span> quickly creeps in.Doctrines<\/span> develop that easily become substitutes for\nwhat Jesus is really after.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

As\nalready noted, that portion of the revelation has been shared in a lengthy\nseries of Coffee Breaks (some 30 in all) titled, SEVEN NATIONS, SEVEN LETTERS.It<\/span><\/span><\/i> is\nnot my purpose to revisit that revelation today.Rather<\/span>,\nI'd like to deal with the analogy that many have used in comparing the\nreferences to the Beast, the False Prophet and\/or the whore of Babylon with the\n"Antichrist."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

From\nwhat Holy Spirit has shown me and the revelation gained as a result of my\nvisits to Heaven, and the time-travel experiences He gave me, transporting me\nboth into the future as well as back into the past has resulted in a\nrealization that Antichrist is a whole lot more -- and a whole lot less -- than\nthe popular teachings of the day have made of it\/him.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

First\nand foremost, Antichrist is a spirit.John<\/span> makes that\nabundantly clear in his general epistles to the body of Christ.(For the sake of\nbrevity, I refer you to I John 2:18, 22, I John 4:3, and II John\n1:7.)Antichrist is a very religious spirit.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\nsuppose I ought to go back to the root of the word in the Greek text.As<\/span> you might well imagine, the Greek word has been\nliterally Anglicized into our word today --<\/span>\n<\/span>antichristos<\/span><\/i><\/b>.The<\/span><\/span> problem with this is\nthat we've applied the Latin definition of<\/span>\n<\/span>anti-<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span>rather\nthan the Greek definition.Let<\/span> me demonstrate.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nLatin form of<\/span> <\/span>anti-<\/span><\/i><\/b>is properly translated: to be set in\nopposition to; against, the opposite<\/u>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nGreek form of<\/span> <\/span>anti-<\/span><\/i><\/b>is a bit different: instead of, a\nsubstitution for, substitute, in place of, for<\/u>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When\nyou see the translation of the Greek, it isn't hard to extrapolate the Latin\nfrom it, and yet that extrapolation causes folks to draw some wrong conclusions.It<\/span> IS clear that everything we know as\nantichrist sets itself in opposition to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, but it\ngoes way beyond that picture.Think<\/span>\n"substitute" Christ.Think<\/span> "in place\nof" Christ.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Once\nthat picture begins to come into focus, a whole lot of things fall into place.Antichrist<\/span> is actually operating within<\/i><\/b>\nthe body of Christ, and has been for some 2,000 years.It<\/span>\nwas in full bloom with the doctrine of the Nicolaitans<\/span>\n(power over the people\/power to the people) John describes in Revelation 2.It\nwas on public display when the emperor Constantine declared all of Rome to be\n"Christian."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

It\nwas manifested throughout the Dark Ages.It<\/span> has been\noperating in every segment of church life in the centuries since.Why<\/span>\ndo I say that?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Once\nagain, think "substitute Christ."Think "substitute\nGospel."Any "gospel" which promotes or preaches a version of\nJesus Christ that leaves the power and authority or the glory of the Lord on\ndisplay through His people today is Antichrist!Any<\/span>\nversion of the Gospel of the Kingdom which produces a people who are less than\nthe spotless Bride (no spot or wrinkle) Jesus is coming for is Antichrist.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Any\ndoctrine preached which promotes a "get outta<\/span>\nhere" mentality (before tribulation, testing and trial comes) in believers\nis Antichrist.Any<\/span> teaching which suggests, promotes\nand encourages God's people to avoid the fire comes straight from the spirit of\nAntichrist.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When\nJohn the Baptist began to preach the coming of the Messiah, he said,<\/span> <\/span>"He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire.Whose<\/span> fan is<\/i> in his hand, and he will\nthoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will\nburn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."<\/span>(Matthew 3:11-12)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That fire is for our cleansing.It<\/span> brings purification.Anything<\/span>\nwhich suggests that we don't need this fire cheapens and degrades the call of\nthe Bridegroom.Consider<\/span> what Paul wrote to Timothy\n(see I Timothy 2:15):<\/span> <\/span>"Be instantly\nresponsive to the Lord, making yourself available to Him in the midst of the\ncrucible, a tried and tested laborer, who has no fear of being examined -- one\nwho, by virtue of God's testing and the time spent in the crucible with Him,\nknows the proven word of truth."<\/span>(my translation from the Greek)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That\n"crucible" is the container in which gold (or other precious metals)\ngets placed for refining.It<\/span> is heated to hundreds of\ndegrees in order to get the impurities removed.This<\/span>\nwas the illustration Paul used in order to make clear the fact that we must\nendure the fire.Paul<\/span> continues in his letter to\nTimothy:<\/span> <\/span>"Stand aloof from,\nand avoid the untested, untried "word" which comes forth from those\nwho would propagate speculation and create their own doctrines. These profane\nspeculations and so-called "words" are empty babblings which will\nonly serve to advance ungodliness; and those who spread these doctrines will\nonly yield a gangrene pasture -- a source of poison to those who ingest their\n"word"......"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

If\nyou'll pardon the illustration, that "gangrene pasture" is precisely what\nthe spirit of Antichrist wants God's people to feed on.Folks<\/span>,\ntribulation is something promised by the Lord for all believers.Jesus<\/span>\nput it like this:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might\nhave peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation<\/u>: but be of good\ncheer; I have overcome the world."<\/span>(John 16:33)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

By\nnow, you're beginning to get the idea.Whether<\/span> we ever\nsee an individual who is referred to as "the Antichrist," or not, is\nreally almost irrelevant.Antichrist<\/span> is here now!We<\/span> see it on public display coming out of our nation's\nleaders as they promote tolerance for Islam, acceptance of homosexual and\nlesbian (and other deviant) behavior as "normal," the killing of\nunborn children for the sake of personal convenience, and a socialist,\nentitlement mentality which avoids personal responsibility that is presented as\n"the way Jesus would treat things," and "after all, Jesus\npreached love."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That,\nmy friends, is a substitute Jesus.That<\/span> IS Antichrist!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Are\nyou hearing this?Do<\/span> you understand what I'm saying?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"The deep things of God are known only to Him, but are\nrevealed to us through His Spirit. That is the promise of 1 Corinthians 2.\nTherefore, it is our expectation to witness an unprecedented outpouring of His\nSpirit and unfolding Last Day mysteries that will perfect the bride and empower\nthe Sons of the Kingdom.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Mere human knowledge is not sufficient to bring in the great\nharvest. We must be endowed with God\u2019s supernatural provision that is clearly\npromised for this hour. To do so, every saint of God must come to the\nrealization that Christ is "all in all."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

He is Light; He is the Way, Truth, Life; He is the Resurrection;\nHe is Wisdom; He is Righteousness; He is Goodness; He is Understanding; He is\nAlpha and Omega; He is the Beginning and the End; He is All in All.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

To\nmerely acknowledge these as doctrinal truth is not sufficient. They must become\nexperiential reality through personal encounters with the Living Christ. The\nLord is standing at the door knocking with a personal invitation for profound\nfellowship and the unveiling of Latter Rain revelation.
