Actually, I thought I was going to get\nto move on to another topic today but realized after receiving many comments\nand reviewing some things I'd written that we really weren't finished yet.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That said, here is the theme of this\nCoffee Break series from Paul's second letter to the Ekklesia<\/span>\nin Corinth.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"Wherefore, if any [person] be in [Christ] the Anointed One and\nHis anointing, he is a newly formed creation; the old [nature] has perished and\ndissolved away; the whole [being] has causatively changed and re-ordered so as\nto become freshly new."<\/span><\/i>(II Corinthians 5:17, my translation\nand amplification)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We really have been undergoing a DNA\ntransplant -- a DNA reordering -- a complete restructuring of our character and\nmakeup, our personality and our very nature. In short, John's promise to the overcomer<\/span> as he recorded it in Revelation 3:12.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"Him that overcometh<\/span> will I make a\npillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write\nupon him the name<\/span> [onoma<\/span>] of my God, and the name<\/span> [onoma<\/span>]of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh\ndown out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name<\/span> [onoma<\/span>]."<\/span><\/span><\/i><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

For\nthe sake of those who've only been reading these Coffee Breaks for a short time\nand haven't heard the definition of this word,<\/span>\n<\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/span>,<\/span> <\/span>while\nthis word is uniformly translated as "name" throughout the NT,J.H.\nThayer, in his Greek-English Lexicon, defines it like this:<\/span> <\/span>"By a usage chiefly Hebraistic<\/span>, onoma<\/span> [shem<\/span>] is used for everything which the name covers,\neverything the thought or feeling which is roused in the mind brings by\nmentioning, hearing, remembering the name -- that is<\/span><\/i>,<\/span> <\/span>one's rank, authority,\ninterests, pleasure, command, excellences, deeds,<\/span><\/b> <\/span>etc<\/span><\/i>."<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Where\n"names" and\/or "name-calling" are used in opposition, he<\/span> <\/span>characterizes<\/span> <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/span> <\/span>--<\/span> <\/span>in\ncontradistinction to "name-calling" -- as,<\/span> <\/span>"<\/span>the reality of one's existence,<\/span><\/b>"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Thus, we see the prophecy in Revelation\nin an entirely different perspective. This DNA change is literally a change of\nour character and nature. It is a change of our rank and authority because we\nare now "in Christ" and He is in us! It is a complete change of our\ninterests and our pleasures. The things of this world no longer have an appeal\nto us. Our command is altered because instead of now being simply\n"followers of Jesus Christ," we are One with Him. That gives us the\nright -- and more so the responsibility -- to declare and decree with\nKingdom commands<\/u><\/b> the Word that comes directly to us by and through His\nSpirit.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Now you're getting the picture! We\nbecome identified not simply with "the name of God" but with His<\/span> <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i>.His<\/span><\/span> city, His Kingdom,\nHis dwelling now becomes our habitation and place of residency. We've become\ncitizens of a different dimension, a different realm.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

But here's the best part of this. He\nis, has been, and will continue, to write upon us, to engrave within our\nthought processes, our nature, our makeup, His new character, His new makeup,\nHis new identity.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I know. I know. I know. That scarcely\nmakes sense to us as rational beings. How or why would Jesus' very nature and\nmakeup change? How or why would His character and identity be altered?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

There are two aspects to this that I\nwill share.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When Della and I got married, we both\nwent through a change of personality and makeup. Friends like Dwain McKenzie\nwho've known me for most of my life made statements in the years following,\nsomething like this: "Brother, you sure have changed! You are not the same\nperson you used to be!"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

They could or would probably recite a\nnumber of character or personality changes that had taken place -- most notably\nthe fact that I was a much softer individual, not so driving, not so brittle or\nhard. And I would have to agree. Before the Lord gave Della to me I was\nincomplete. There was a constant "search" that went on inside my\nbeing for completeness, for something that would enable me to fulfill my\ndestiny and be whom I am supposed to be. There was a "search," a\ncraving, an insatiable desire for that one whom God had chosen as my counterpart,\nmy other self.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Once we were joined together,\neverything changed! There was a release of new authority. There was a sense of\nsatisfaction and joy in being complete. There was a knowing that -- FINALLY --\nI was seeing tangible movement towards God's destiny! I was now a whole being!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That principle holds true with the Lord\nJesus Christ. I've said this before, and I know that there are many believers\nwho have struggled with the same concept, but from before the foundations of\nthe earth, Jesus needed and desired a counterpart. There has been a constant\ndrive on His part toward the day when He would be complete. He designed things\nthis way, folks! I'm not making this up. This is not some new doctrine or funny\ncontrivance of my invention.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

From the beginning of time itself, all\ncreation was spoken and set in motion to bring about a desired end -- a people\nwho would become the counterpart, the other self, the very beloved partner of\nthe Lord Jesus Christ. This would be a species of being -- a people -- who\nwould reflect His Glory, be the expression of His love, function just like Him,\nflow with His authority and power, and -- ultimately -- enable Him to fulfill\nHis destiny!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Why do you think the promise to the overcomer<\/span> is, "And I will write upon him My New<\/span> <\/span>Onoma<\/span><\/i><\/span>?"There is a process of overcoming that has to be made\ncomplete in us and we must come to that place the apostle Paul described like\nthis:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"When I was a child<\/span><\/i>\n<\/span>(nepios<\/span>)<\/span><\/i>, I spake<\/span> as a child<\/span><\/i> <\/span>(nepios<\/span>)<\/span><\/i>, I understood as a child<\/span><\/i> <\/span>(nepios<\/span>)<\/span><\/i>, I thought as a child<\/span><\/i> <\/span>(nepios<\/span>)<\/span><\/i>: but when I became a man, I put away childish\nthings. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I\nknow in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.<\/u><\/b>"<\/span><\/i>(I Corinthians\n13:11-12)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Here's how John put it in his first\ngeneral letter to the body of Christ:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"Beloved, now are we the sons<\/span><\/i>\n<\/span>(teknon<\/span>) of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we\nknow that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him<\/u><\/b>; for we\nshall see him as he is."<\/span><\/span><\/i>(I John 3:2)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

THAT is what this is all about! That is\nwhat it means to have His New<\/span> <\/span>Onoma<\/span><\/i><\/span>!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let's get something straight. This is\nwhat Jesus is coming back for! He's not coming back for a mealy-mouthed,\nCaesar-Milquetoast, namby-pamby people who behave like cowards, run at every\nappearance of Satan or his horde of demons, and are too intimidated to boldly\ndeclare and make the kingdoms of this world the Kingdoms of our Lord and of His\nChrist (Revelation 11:15).There's not going to be any rapture of the "ain'ts<\/span>" until He can come and receive what He set out\nto have in the first place: a people who are once again in His likeness and\nimage -- in other words, Saints!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

And that is something, the scope of\nwhich, is a whole lot larger than the finite mind can even begin to imagine. Consider\nfor a minute the<\/span> <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/span>\n<\/span>of the Lord Jesus\nChrist. Here's how Paul put it when writing to the Philippians:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a\nname<\/span><\/i> <\/span>[onoma<\/span>] which is above every name<\/span>\n[onoma<\/span>]:That at the name<\/span>\n[onoma<\/span>] of Jesus every knee\nshould bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the\nearth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the\nglory of God the Father."<\/span><\/span><\/i>(Philippians 2:9-11)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

There's so much in that statement I\ncould almost write a book on that passage all by itself! Let's see if we can\ncondense it into a few paragraphs for the sake of this discussion.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Father has exalted and magnified Jesus\nand given Him a name, an<\/span> <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/span>\n<\/span>that is above every<\/span> <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/span>. OK, so far?But<\/span> that<\/span> <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/span> <\/span>is not just an\nexalted name here on earth. He has rank and authority, power and greatness and\nglory which Father has given Him above even His own!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Do you see it? Let me preface what I'm\nabout to share by saying that the word "things" does not exist in the\nGreek text. It was an addition of the translators to try to describe ALL\nbeings<\/b> -- whether heavenly, earthly or demonic. Now, here we go!"That\nat the<\/span> <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/span>\n<\/span>of Jesus every knee\nshould bow, of all beings in Heaven (whether they be angelic or<\/span> <\/span>kosmokrator<\/span><\/i><\/span>\n<\/span>-- and we tend to\ndescribe all heavenly beings as "angelic" even though that's not\naccurate), all beings on earth (no matter what kingdom they belong to -- human,\nanimal, sea-creatures, plant-life, etc.), and all beings (demonic or of Satan's\nkingdom regardless of classification) under the earth."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

And THAT is the character and nature\nbeing bred and formed in us by Holy Spirit at Father's will so that Jesus\nChrist receives His full inheritance!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

[The term,<\/span> <\/span>kosmokrator<\/span><\/i><\/span>, is a Greek word which appears in\nEphesians 6 where Paul describes our spiritual wrestling, and the term\ndescribes a "world ruler" -- what we might frame as\n"principality" or "power" -- and describes a being who\nexercises power or rulership<\/span> in a spiritual dimension\nover a city, a state, a country or a region of the world.]<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We haven't even begun to explore the\nsignificance of what it means to be "in Christ," or even what the\nphrase "Christ in us" really represents. These have become religious\ncatch-phrases without true meaning in our vocabulary as Christians or believers\nin Christ. We know that the Word uses these phrases, and we gather some mental\nimagery around us each time we hear them, but having revelatory understanding\nof what it is all about is missed in the overwhelming majority of Christians. I\nwish I could go there today, but it would take too long (and it really is a\ntopic for discussion all by itself), so -- once again -- let me draw a brief\npicture<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

As part of Jesus' prayer (John 17) when\nHe was about to go to the Cross, He prayed something that is stupendous by any\ndescription! Watch!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

" That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I\nin thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou\nhast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest<\/span> me I\nhave given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou\nin me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that\nthou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me."<\/span><\/i>(John 17:21-23)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This, my friends, is a merging process\nin which we are merged into Him, and He is merged into us. You see, when we\nhave been made One with Him, we have also been made One with Father because He\nand Father are One. That's how it is possible for His Glory to be seen in us! It's\nreally quite elementary, and yet because we're still stuck with our finite\ntime-space-based thinking, it somehow goes right over our heads. Once the\ntransformation of our DNA takes place in the realm of the Spirit, this merging\nis no more complicated than breathing in and breathing out! It's what we've\nbeen designed for, folks! It's what Jesus has been after from day one!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This is where agreement -- the\nprinciple of being united in thought, purpose, desire, goal and destiny -- has\nsuch effectiveness. This is where the love of God becomes so manifest and\ndemonstrated to the world around us. Father specifically set this up so\n"that the world may know that you have sent me, and have loved them\nexactly as you have loved me."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

There's only one word in the English\nlanguage that fits this picture -- WOW!!!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Now, are you beginning to grasp the\npicture of why and how the greater works are possible? Let's revisit the five\ngrowth processes as we wrap up today's Coffee Break.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We've been on a path and in the midst\nof a process that takes us from<\/span> <\/span>Brephos<\/span><\/i><\/span> <\/span>to<\/span> <\/span>Nepios<\/span><\/i><\/span>; from<\/span> <\/span>Nepios<\/span><\/i><\/span>\n<\/span>to<\/span> <\/span>Paidion<\/span><\/i><\/span>; from<\/span> <\/span>Paidion<\/span><\/i><\/span>\n<\/span>to<\/span> <\/span>Teknon<\/span><\/i><\/span>; and -- finally -- from<\/span>\n<\/span>Teknon<\/span><\/i><\/span> <\/span>to<\/span> <\/span>Huios<\/span><\/i><\/span>. Jesus took this path as the "firstborn among many\nbrethren." (See Romans 8:29)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

There are five separate phases here,\nand they cumulatively represent God's grace at work. The word "grace"\nhas often been used as an acronym to represent G<\/span><\/b>od's\nR<\/span><\/b>iches A<\/span><\/b>t\nC<\/span><\/b>hrist's E<\/span><\/b>xpense.\nThat's really a terrible oversimplification, but in this instance it is apropos\nfor the process which takes us from<\/span>\n<\/span>Brephos<\/span><\/i><\/span> <\/span>to<\/span> <\/span>Huios<\/span><\/i>.It<\/span><\/span> really is something\nthat Jesus paid for with His life in order to restore the long-lost path to our\nrelationship with Father. He took this path and is therefore qualified to\ndirect the work of Holy Spirit in our lives as we progress from our new-born\nstate as a "babe in Christ" to the place where we are released with\nFather's blessing and approval as "sons in whom He is well-pleased."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

And that brings us once again to what\nis happening in 2012.There MUST be a release of the "sons of God" in\nthe earth! All creation is literally screaming for that manifestation. Every\nsociety on this planet wants answers that only God's people can provide. Despite\nSatan's deception and the guile he uses to keep folks focused on man-made\nsolutions, government solutions and processes that so-called "wise\nmen" devise through their strategies in order to solve wars, rumors of\nwars, famine and calamity on every hand, men and women the world over know in\ntheir heart of hearts that the solutions which have been tried are not only NOT\nworking, things are getting worse by the day.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Thus a cry fills this earth today for a\npeople who have God's answers for world solutions. A stupendous harvest of\nsouls awaits.2012 is a year in which we're going to see things break loose with\nKingdom authority being released like never before. Jesus Christ is going to\nhave a full house. He's going to have a very large family, thank you very much,\nand the responsibility and the opportunity have been thrust upon us.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

2012 is the year of<\/span> <\/span>Huios<\/span><\/i><\/span>!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD\nis risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross\ndarkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be\nseen upon thee. And the Gentiles [nations and ethnic groups] shall come to thy\nlight, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. Lift up thine<\/span>\neyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to\nthee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy\nside. <\/sup>Then thou shalt<\/span> see, and flow\ntogether, and thine<\/span> heart shall fear, and be\nenlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the\nforces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee."<\/span><\/i>(Isaiah 60:1-5)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"Verily, Verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the\nworks that I do shall he do also, and greater works than these shall he do\nbecause I go to my Father."<\/span><\/i>(John 14:12)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n
