expecting the continuation of our\nseries on Heaven today. We will continue with that series shortly, but because\nof the fact that Israel is so much in the news today, and Israel plays such an\nimportant in America\u2019s existence, and defense in the Middle East, I wanted to\ntake a break and do a piece or two on this nation. Obama\u2019s speech yesterday has\nreally triggered a huge outcry internationally, as well as among the overwhelming\nmajority of Americans.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><br>\n<\/span><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\n\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Back in February of\n2005, I published an article (not a part of the Coffee Break series) with the\nsame name as this Coffee Break article in response to a note from one of my\nreaders questioning why the U.S. has continually supported Israel since its\nreemergence as a state in May 1948.Following is an updated and amplified\nversion of that response.<\/span><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>One\nreason our nation has been such a strong supporter of Israel is because of\nscriptures like Psalm 122:6:<\/span><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\n\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'> <\/span><i><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\n\"Times New Roman\";color:red'>&quot;Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall\nprosper that love thee.&quot;<\/span><\/i><span style='font-size:13.5pt;\nfont-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";\nmso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>David later sang (Psalm 137:5-6),<\/span><span\nstyle='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\n\"Times New Roman\"'> <\/span><i><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";color:red'>\u201cIf I forget thee, O\nJerusalem, let my right hand forget her <span class=SpellE>cunning.If<\/span> I\ndo not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer\nnot Jerusalem above my chief joy.\u201d<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><o:p>&nbsp;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>There\nare a multitude of other scriptures that are similar to this, but the theme is\nthe same: those who bless, who pray for, who support Israel will likewise\nprosper and receive the blessings of God.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><o:p>&nbsp;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Our\nnation has long recognized that it has a responsibility to be an undergirding\nfor Israel. America was founded upon the fundamental freedom to worship the\nLord Jesus Christ, to honor Him, and to be obedient to His word and will.\nBecause the support of Israel is such a recurring theme throughout Scripture,\nGod's people have long recognized their responsibilities. Our nation's leaders\nhave historically supported Israel.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><o:p>&nbsp;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>I\nknow there are those who believe that our support of Israel and our generous\nfinancial assistance is a violation of our Constitution, but this is a case\nwhere a higher law prevails than that of the Constitution. I am \u2013 by just about\nevery rule one can muster \u2013 a Constitutionalist. I genuinely believe our nation\nneeds to return to its Constitutional foundations.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><o:p>&nbsp;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>There\nis a higher law, however, that our forefathers all recognized when this nation\nwas founded: God's Law. That Law will and must always be the ultimate force\nthat guides this nation's policies, and if some believe that it conflicts with\nour nation's Constitution, then the higher law must prevail. I'm not talking\nabout religion or the mythical separation of church and state. I'm talking\nabout the universal laws that God has set in place that no nation can disregard\nwithout consequences. That said, let me get on with this discussion.<\/span><span\nstyle='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\n\"Times New Roman\"'><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>As\nfar as the Palestinians are concerned, they have always had a land of their\nown. (<\/span><span style='font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\n\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Note: I use the term,\n\u201cPalestinians,\u201d really only for reference\u2019s sake in this article since they\u2019ve\nnever been known that way historically.<\/span><span style='font-size:13.5pt;\nfont-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";\nmso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>)They simply chose to abandon it and\nlay claim to Israel. Look at the history of the Palestinians. They have for\ncenturies lived in Jordan, occupying a majority of that country. Never has\nthere been a mandate from God to take the land of Israel away from the Jews and\ngive it to the Palestinians. The fact that the Jews were carried away into\ncaptivity because of their disobedience to God did not somehow change God's\nmind concerning the land. In fact, through His prophets, He promised the Jews\nthat He would return them to their homeland and restore all of it to them.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><o:p>&nbsp;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>If\nyou study the history of many of the Palestinians, they are descended from the\nPhilistines, the Amorites, the Moabites, the Ammonites, etc.: nations who lost\ntheir birthright and land because of God's judgment upon them. They have no\nspiritual, moral, ethical or legal right to claim lands and territories in this\npresent day under the premise that they lived there before Israel was once\nagain declared a nation. They were interlopers, squatters who seized and\noccupied lands and territories they were never entitled to. They got away with\nit for a long time, too, because there was no one to challenge their occupancy.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><o:p>&nbsp;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>For\nthe sake of a little current history, let me take a minute to quote a portion\nof Benjamin Netanyahu\u2019s speech to a joint-session of both houses of Congress,\nscheduled for next Monday. (I am pleased to have an advance copy of that speech\nas it has appeared in <span class=SpellE>Arutz<\/span> <span class=SpellE>Sheva<\/span>,\nthe Israeli National News.)<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><o:p>&nbsp;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>On November 2, 1917, Lord Arthur\nJames Balfour, Foreign Secretary and past Prime Minister of Great Britain,\nissued the famous Balfour Declaration, that posits the founding of a national\nhome for the Jewish people in the land of Israel. Its authors were referring to\nthe Biblical borders of Israel, with whose boundaries the English people were\nfamiliar from studying the Holy Book, that land which lay on both sides of the\nJordan River, extending from the northernmost Golan Heights to Aqaba in the\nsouth, close to 116 thousand square kilometers.<br>\n<br>\nIn 1920, the San Remo International Conference confirmed the Balfour\nDeclaration and gave Britain the mandate over both sides of the Jordan River.\nKing Feisal of Iraq, in the name of the Arab delegation to the 1919 peace\nconference after WWI, wrote: \u201cOur delegation here in Paris are fully aware of\nthe suggestions the Zionist Federation made to the peace conference. In our\neyes they are modest and fitting, and we will do our best to have them\naccepted. We will welcome the Jews warmly when they come home.<br>\n<br>\nTwo years later, the eastern bank of the Jordan, an area of about 90,000 square\nkilometers, was separated and closed to Jewish immigration. What remained for\nthe Jews was the west bank of the Jordan, an area of only 26,000 square\nkilometers. The decision to hand over the land east of the Jordan to the head\nof the Saudi royal family was decided on by Great Britain for political ends.<br>\n<br>\nThe plan to partition the land of Israel west of the Jordan River, as suggested\nby the Peel Committee in 1936, was called \u201ca midget-sized Jewish country\u201d, by\nrevisionist leader <span class=SpellE>Zeev<\/span> <span class=SpellE>Jabotinsky<\/span>,\nin his 1937 speech before Parliament. The heads of Jewish settlement in Israel\ndeclared that even if the Jews are forced to accept the partition against their\nwill, they see it as a temporary solution. <span class=SpellE>Chaim<\/span>\nWeizmann, later Israel\u2019s first president, said: \u201cThis is an arrangement that\ncan last 25-30 years\u201d, and David Ben <span class=SpellE>Gurion<\/span>, later to\nbe Israel\u2019s first Prime Minister, reacted: \u201cI see our future as cancelling the\npartition, once we have become secure in our state\u201d.<br>\n<br>\nIn 1947, the United Nations Assembly ratified the Partition Plan, a decision\nthat led to the declaration of the state of Israel on the tiny bit of land left\nfor the Jewish homeland. Our capital, Jerusalem, was divided in two, and her\nheart, the site of our Holy Temples, was outside our borders. All the parts of\nIsrael that had been clearly promised to us by God were also outside these\nborders.<br>\n<br>\nThe Arabs never accepted the Partition Plan and, led by <span class=SpellE>Amin<\/span>\nEl <span class=SpellE>Huseini<\/span> continued their terror attacks against the\nJewish people. <span class=SpellE>Huseini<\/span> met with Hitler in Berlin at\nthe height of WWII in order to plan the extermination of the Jews in Israel and\nthe east.<br>\n<br>\nImmediately after the declaration of Israel\u2019s independence on May 15, 1948, the\narmies of 7 Arab states invaded the fledgling country to attempt to murder all\nits Jewish residents. For the next 19 years, we lived while paying for our\nexistence in unending bloodshed. In the War of Independence alone, 6000\nsoldiers and civilians were killed, that was 1% of the population at the time.\nGod helped us defeat our enemies and we succeeded in building a wonderful\ncountry despite its narrow borders and their limitations.<br>\n<br>\nThen began the infamous announcements of President Nasser of Egypt in 1967,\nwho, together with Syria\u2019s ruler Hafez el Assad, and Jordan\u2019s King Hussein,\ndecided to invade tiny Israel and wipe it off the map. Israel\u2019s boundaries were\nthe indefensible Green Line, called \u201cAuschwitz Borders\u201d by then-Foreign\nMinister Abba <span class=SpellE>Eban<\/span>. In the June 1967 war that ensued,\nthe state of Israel and its heroic soldiers, defeated Egypt in six days and\nfreed the remaining sections of Israel on the west of the Jordan River.<br>\n<br>\n<\/span><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\n\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Prime Minister\nNetanyahu very clearly enunciates a fair portion of Israel\u2019s modern history in\nhis speech as he lays the groundwork for explaining why Israel <b>cannot, must\nnot and will not ever<\/b> return to its pre-1967 borders.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><o:p>&nbsp;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>There\nare emotional human issues here, of course. Palestinian squatters who had\noccupied the land prior to Israel\u2019s statehood in 1948 (I\u2019ll discuss this issue\nin our next Coffee Break) fled to Jordan, Syria, and Saudi Arabia under false\npromises by Arab leaders that they would one day be given \u201cthe right of return\u201d\nto their previous homes \u201cwhen the Zionists are eradicated.\u201dThose leaders had no\nlegal mandate for such promises and created an unrealistic expectancy among the\n\u201crefugees.\u201d<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><o:p>&nbsp;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>So\nwhat do you do with the families who left? From a political standpoint one\ncannot simply displace the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who have\ncontinued to live in Israel and those who scattered throughout the region. That\ndoesn't mean they need to be granted separate statehood. They can choose to\nlive under the democratic rule of Israel, prosper and live in peace, or they\ncan choose to return to Jordan where their forebears have lived in throughout\nmany past generations \u2013 a very real option. Jordan\u2019s King Abdullah said in a\nrecent speech, \u201cWe are Palestine!\u201dDuring the uprisings of the last couple of\nmonths, he extended an offer to PLO leader <span class=SpellE>Mahmoud<\/span> <span\nclass=SpellE>Abbas<\/span> to join him in a shared government. <span\nclass=SpellE>Abbas<\/span> refused, sticking to his demand for a separate\nPalestinian state at the cost of Israel\u2019s existence.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><o:p>&nbsp;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Historically,\nthe present-day Palestinians are an amalgamation of many tribes once scattered\nthroughout the region. There never has been a political entity \u2013a state, if you\nwill \u2013 recognized by the world as the nation of Palestine. Israel and much of\nthe region was called Palestine for a time under British occupation, but there\nwas no nation or state of Palestine as such. In 1922, changes were implemented by the\nLeague of Nations which declared a \u201cland of Israel\u201d encompassing all of the\nland west of the Jordan River, the Negev, all of the Golan and southern\nportions of what have since become Syria. A UN resolution took more land in\n1947, and in 1948 -- less than 50 years after the British mandate, the United\nNations agreed that Israel should once again become a sovereign nation.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><o:p>&nbsp;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>To\nbe sure, many of the Palestinians who occupied the land saw their homes and\nproperties taken away from them and destroyed by the incoming Jews who were\nHolocaust survivors. It isn't hard to feel compassion for them and to want to\ndo something to redress their grievances. That said, however, it still remains\nthat they were the interlopers, occupying land that they would one day have to\nleave. That day has come.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><o:p>&nbsp;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Palestinians\nhave the opportunity to live within an Israeli state (my opinion), vote and\nbecome democratic citizens of that nation and enjoy the benefits of democracy,\nor they can continue to shout their spurious claims of their rights to the\nland, continue to commit murder and ultimately be destroyed as a people. The\ncreation of a Palestinian state is a political decision, but it is one that\ncannot last. The so-called Palestinian people have been at war with the Jews\nfor 3500 years, and to think they will suddenly live in peace and harmony as\nneighbors in the 21st century simply by having their own state is a demonic\nfantasy.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><o:p>&nbsp;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>It\nisn't hard to applaud those who want to try and make it work, but unless there\nis radical change in the spirit of the people and the spirit of the land, we\nwill ultimately see a battle to the finish and the extinction of the Palestinians.\nPsalm 83 is a perfect picture of the end of this conflict. I won\u2019t take the\ntime today to fully explore the prophecy contained in this Psalm; but briefly,\nyou have a description of ten neighboring nations or tribes who make a decision\nagainst Israel saying,<\/span><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'> <\/span><i><span style='font-size:\n13.5pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";\ncolor:red'>\u201cCome, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of\nIsrael may be no more in remembrance.\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;\nfont-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>The\nprayer of <span class=SpellE>Asaph<\/span> ends like this:<\/span><span\nstyle='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\n\"Times New Roman\"'> <\/span><i><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";color:red'>\u201cLet them be confounded\nand troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish: That men may\nknow that Thou, whose Name alone is JEHOVAH, <span class=SpellE>art<\/span> the\nMost High over all the earth.\u201d<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><br>\n<\/span><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\n\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>We know from the\nprophetic utterances of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Zechariah (and many\nothers) that the promise of God is the elevation of Israel in the earth and the\nrestoration of its entire homeland \u2013 that same homeland that God promised to\nAbraham!<\/span><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><br>\n<\/span><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\n\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Consider the portion\nof the covenant that God made with Abraham concerning the land He would give to\nthe covenant-seed of Abraham:<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><br>\n<\/span><i><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";color:red'>\u201cIn the same day the LORD\nmade a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from\nthe river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates: The <span\nclass=SpellE>Kenites<\/span>, and the <span class=SpellE>Kenizzites<\/span>, and\nthe <span class=SpellE>Kadmonites<\/span>, And the Hittites, and the <span\nclass=SpellE>Perizzites<\/span>, and the <span class=SpellE>Rephaims<\/span>, And\nthe Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the <span class=SpellE>Girgashites<\/span>,\nand the <span class=SpellE>Jebusites<\/span>.\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style='font-size:\n13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";\nmso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>(Genesis 15:18-21)<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><br>\n<\/span><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\n\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>See that?<\/span><i><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\n\"Times New Roman\";color:red'>\u201cFrom the river of Egypt (the Nile River) unto the\ngreat river, the river Euphrates!\u201d <\/span><\/i><span style='font-size:13.5pt;\nfont-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";\nmso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Wow!! Stop and think about what that\nencompasses. That takes in a good chunk of what today is eastern Egypt, the\nentire Sinai Peninsula, all (of course) of modern Israel (including all of the\n\u201cWest Bank\u201d), the Gaza, the southern portion of Lebanon, much of eastern Syria,\nand a large portion of western Jordan (which is 70% occupied by people who call\nthemselves \u201cPalestinians.\u201d)<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><br>\n<\/span><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\n\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Not since the days of\nDavid and Solomon has Israel occupied the majority of the land God promised to\nthem<\/span><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'> <\/span><i><span style='font-size:\n13.5pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";\ncolor:red'>\u201cfor an everlasting possession\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style='font-size:\n12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>\n<\/span><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\n\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>(Genesis 17:8).Their\nsin against God caused them to be carried away into captivity, and they never\nhave fully occupied their promised possession. However, God\u2019s promises don\u2019t go\naway, and the promise of this land to Abraham\u2019s seed still stands. Furthermore,\nwith Israel going in captivity, the Lord sent Jeremiah to them to say:<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><br>\n<\/span><i><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";color:red'>\u201cThey shall be carried to\nBabylon, and there shall they be until the day that I visit them, <span\nclass=SpellE>saith<\/span> the LORD; <b>then will I bring them up, and restore\nthem to this place<\/b>.\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\n\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><br>\n<\/span><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\n\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Prophecies abound\nthroughout the O.T. in which the Lord promises to restore Israel to her\ninheritance. Even before Israel first entered into the Promised Land, the Lord\nwarned them what would happen to them as a nation if they departed from His\ncommandments. Yet in the warning also came the mercy of God as He promised that\nHe would return them to their promised heritage.(See Deuteronomy 30:4-8)<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><br>\n<\/span><i><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";color:red'>\u201cIf any of <span\nclass=SpellE>thine<\/span> be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from\nthence will the LORD thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee:<\/span><\/i><span\nstyle='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\n\"Times New Roman\"'> <\/span><i><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";color:red'>And the LORD thy God will\nbring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou <span\nclass=SpellE>shalt<\/span> possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply\nthee above thy fathers. And the LORD thy God will circumcise <span\nclass=SpellE>thine<\/span> heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD\nthy God with all <span class=SpellE>thine<\/span> heart, and with all thy soul,\nthat thou <span class=SpellE>mayest<\/span> <span class=SpellE>live.And<\/span>\nthe LORD thy God will put all these <u>curses<\/u><\/span><\/i><span\nstyle='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\n\"Times New Roman\"'> <\/span><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>(See\nDeuteronomy 28:15-68)<\/span><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'> <\/span><i><span style='font-size:\n13.5pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\";\ncolor:red'>upon <span class=SpellE>thine<\/span> enemies, and on them that hate\nthee, which persecuted <span class=SpellE>thee.And<\/span> thou <span\nclass=SpellE>shalt<\/span> return and obey the voice of the LORD, and do all his\ncommandments which I command thee this day.\u201d<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><br>\n<\/span><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\n\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>That, folks, is the\nfuture of Israel and the future of all their enemies. Israel will \u2013 whether it\nhappens this year, next year or even a few years from now \u2013 most certainly\noccupy the whole land of its inheritance. Those nations which have determined\nthe eradication of Israel from the map already have a curse upon them, and\ntheir doom has already been prepared by the Lord as a part of the justice and\njudgment under His covenant with Abraham. If the Palestinians continue to\nchoose a path of destruction against Israel, they as a nation and a people (if\nwe can call them that) will be obliterated from the face of the earth.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><br>\n<\/span><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\n\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>A word of caution,\nhowever! There are folks classified as \u201cPalestinian\u201d who absolutely love the\nLord. There are Palestinians \u2013 a huge number, in fact \u2013 who prefer to live as\nIsraelis and Israeli citizens in the peace and prosperity Israel has granted. They\nhave chosen to bless Israel rather than curse it, and for that reason, they are\nexempt from the destruction and curses to come upon those who have set\nthemselves against God\u2019s covenant.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";\nmso-fareast-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><br>\n<\/span><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\"Garamond\",\"serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:\n\"Times New Roman\";mso-bidi-font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>There\u2019s a lot more to\nsay on this topic; and I can\u2019t really do justice to this in a single Coffee\nBreak.
