Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving!<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

It\u2019s been a couple of years or more since I quoted from any\nresearch articles or papers on the subject of coffee, but here\u2019s one for you to\ntake a look at. This one deals with coffee\u2019s ability to cancel bad breath.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Before\nI resume my sharing on Heaven, let me first wish you all the best Thanksgiving\nyou\u2019ve ever had. Despite the economic woes that have hit this nation and much\nof the world, there aren\u2019t any of us who don\u2019t have things to be thankful for.\n2010 has been a year of spectacular change \u2013 and a year of some of the most\nremarkable experiences in the Lord we\u2019ve ever had. The presence of the Glory of\nthe Lord surrounding us and being in and with us has increased in the past year\nby a quantum leap.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Despite\nmuch shaking, sifting and change taking place in us and in our fellowship we\nwouldn\u2019t trade where we are in the Lord for anything! The change and the\nspiritual growth are worth everything it has cost thus far, and we are\ndetermined to have God\u2019s best manifested and operational in our lives. Our\nobjective is to be readied for the Lord Jesus Christ as His Counterpart, His\nOther Self \u2013 a people of whom He can joyfully say, \u201cThis is My Bride!\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Thank\nyou, Lord, for 2010 and all that you\u2019ve done in us, with us, for us and to us\nthis year!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When\nwe left off last week, I\u2019d just shared Abraham\u2019s comments to me where he\nanswered my question like this: \u201cOnce you\u2019ve heard the voice of God, there is no<\/b>\nother voice!\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Reflecting\nback on the nearly sixty years that have passed since, I can attest to that\nstatement. The call of God that comes with that audible voice \u2013 no matter\nwhether the voice is audible in your natural ears or your spiritual ears \u2013\nestablishes something in you that no one can steal from you or convince you\notherwise by great argument.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

I\ngrew up watching the impact of my Dad having heard the voice of God saying to\nhim, \u201cI want you to go to Alaska for me,\u201d and seeing the results that came from\nit. Dad plowed through every conceivable obstacle and ignored the odds stacked\nagainst him. Despite religious arguments to the contrary, as well as the advice\nand instruction of his denominational peers and superiors, the voice of the Lord\nrang in his being to the day he went home! He never deviated from what God\ncommanded.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Like\nmy father before me, I\u2019ve been the topic of much controversy and opposition\nbecause of the path I\u2019ve walked in God, but having heard the voice of the Lord\nclearly \u2013 not once, but many times \u2013 and knowing that voice, has been the\nsteadying factor throughout my life.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

My\nconversation with Abraham continued as he described his trek through Canaan,\nhis journey into Egypt, his screw-up in introducing Sarah as his sister and the\nway in which God turned it for a blessing in his life.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

One\nof the things that amazed me as he described his walk with God was the\nrevelation of much the fear of death ruled him despite the numerous experiences\nhe had in both seeing the Lord visibly and having angels appear with messages\nfrom God. Time after time after time again he would see the Lord, hear and\nrespond and then have Satan attack him with fear.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\nsaid to him, \u201cYou must have received deliverance or have overcome that fear by\nthe time you took Isaac up to Moriah<\/span> to offer him up\nas a sacrifice.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Once\nagain I was permitted to see into his experiences and his emotions and\nfeelings. I understood perhaps for the first time the Scriptures that record,\n\u201c\u2026and Jesus, knowing their thoughts\u2026\u201d (Matthew 9:4, Luke 11:17). There is a\nknowing in your being that you simply don\u2019t question. It is as clear as\nanything can be.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Can\nI deviate for just a minute to share with you a personal example of how this\nworked in me many years later? During the years I was at Long Beach Christian\nCenter we had an instance where a lady in great distress came to see Dwain\n(McKenzie) for counsel. After Dwain had listened to her for a few minutes he\ncalled me into his office and asked her to repeat what she had just shared.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

She\ndid so and then stepped out of the office for a minute. Dwain said to me, \u201cOK,\nBrother. Give me your take on this.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nanswer was clear to me. I knew the inside of that woman almost better than she\nknew herself. I said to Dwain, \u201cBrother, this woman is a practicing lesbian. In\nfact she takes the male role in the relationship. The conviction of the Holy\nSpirit is tearing her apart and she doesn\u2019t know what to do with it because she\nis a professing Christian.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Turned\nout she was a Sunday School teacher at a large Charismatic fellowship in the\nLos Angeles area. She was afraid to talk to her pastor and figured she could\nsafely come and talk to someone else who was a fair distance away without\njeopardizing her position.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

When\nshe came back into the office, Dwain said to her, \u201cWould you like to hear what Regner<\/span> just said about your situation?\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

She\nnodded her head, and he continued. \u201cHe says you are a lesbian, and you are\nplaying the male role in the relationship.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Her\nface turned dark, she stood to her feet, went out of the office and slammed the\ndoor. Moments later she came back and said, \u201cYou can\u2019t have known that! I\u2019ve\nnever told anyone! How did you know that?\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

I\nanswered her, \u201cYou can\u2019t hide anything from the Holy Spirit, and He is the\nrevealer of all truth.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That\nlady was set free that day and delivered from a spirit of sexual perversion\nwhich had tormented her for years. We baptized her the following Sunday. Her\nformer partner, unfortunately, rejected the Word of the Lord.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Sorry\nfor the side-trip, but I just wanted to show you what happened that day in\nHeaven. The revelation of what Abraham went through was nothing less than\nmarvelous! I saw the patience of the Lord with Abraham because his heart was\nperfect before God. Once he\u2019d heard God\u2019s voice, he was going to obey the voice\nof the Lord, no matter what!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We\ntalked about the time he heard the Lord tell him to take Isaac up to the hills\nor mountains of Moriah<\/span> (his great-great\n(etc.)-grandfather, Shem, had his citadel not far from there) and offer him as\na sacrifice. As he shared it,<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u201cI\nhad seen God do so many things for me throughout more than 50 years (Abraham\nwas somewhere between 125 and 130 years of age at the time), and His covenant\nwas so established in my being that I knew without a doubt things were going to\nbe OK. I knew that if I killed Isaac and succeeded in offering him up as a\nburnt sacrifice, God was going to do a miracle and raise him back from the\nashes.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

\u201cThe\nfear of death was gone from me. I had no question that God would not fulfill\nHis covenant with me through Isaac as He had promised. When the Angel of the\nLord stayed my hand and I saw the ram, my faith was fully justified.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Now\nit was time for my conversation to shift to Isaac. He was standing nearby and\nhad listened to my conversation with his father. Once again as it was with\nAbraham and seeing him as a vibrant, healthy man, so it was with Isaac. Most of\nthe pictures I\u2019d seen up to this point (and in fact, most of the pictures today\nthat portray Isaac) displayed him at or near the 180 years of age he was when\nhe died. Just about any picture you look at shows him blind and feeble. The\nIsaac I saw was anything but. He appeared as a man in his late thirties,\nperhaps near forty as he was when Eliezer<\/span> brought Rebekah<\/span> to him, full of vim, vigor and vitality.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Thinking\nback my judgment of height was probably distorted because of my young age, but\nhe wasn\u2019t a short man by any stretch. Appearing perhaps two inches taller than\nhis father, I\u2019d have guessed him to be over six feet in height.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

My\nmomentary image of Abraham picking him up and laying him on the altar, arms and\nlegs bound with ropes just didn\u2019t fit what I was seeing. Abraham was no\nweakling! This guy looked like someone who worked out regularly, so his story\nof the events when his father awakened him that fateful morning and told him\nthey were going to offer a sacrifice to the Lord was more than a little\nenlightening.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

\u201cWhat\ndid you think,\u201d I asked, \u201cwhen your dad woke you up and told you that you were\ngoing to offer a sacrifice?\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u201cMy\nfather had told me of his many experiences of hearing the Lord, seeing the\nLord, and having visitations of angels, and although we hadn\u2019t been offering\nany sacrifices that I could remember, it just seemed like everything was\nnormal.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u201cWhat\nabout when you asked your father where the lamb was for the burnt offering,\u201d I\ncontinued. \u201cWhat were you thinking about?\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

\u201cWe\nwere into the third day of our journey into the hills. Father was getting ready\nto prepare the altar, I was carrying the wood, he had a burning torch in one\nhand and a knife in the other. I hadn\u2019t seen any evidence of a lamb. The two\nservants who accompanied us had stayed behind with the asses and the food\nprovisions a couple of hours before.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Isaac\ntilted his head back and smiled. He was obviously remembering the instant, and\nin that moment it was as though I\u2019d been transported to the scene to see it in\nperson.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

\u201cWeren\u2019t\nyou scared to death when your father suddenly took your hands and began to rope\nthem together?\u201d I asked.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u201cThere\nwas a momentary flicker of fear but a supernatural presence of the Lord settled\nover me and quieted my spirit. I had no rational explanation for what was\ntaking place. It was like my whole being was put into a restful state. I knew\nwithout knowing why I knew that Father was being obedient to the Lord and that something\nmiraculous was about to take place. I was able to relax as he picked me up and\nput me on the altar. Even the sight of his upraised hand with that knife in it\ndidn\u2019t rouse me. It was almost like I was looking at the event in the third\nperson and thinking, Hmmmmm<\/i><\/span>\u2026this is\ninteresting! I wonder what comes next.<\/i> Subconsciously, I think, my body\nstill tensed up.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Isaac\u2019s\nresponse obviously answered questions that were forming in my mind even before\nI could speak them. His face had an expression of enormous joy as he continued,\n\u201cWhen the Angel of the Lord appeared and I heard his voice, the tension left\nand my whole body relaxed. Seeing that ram caught in those branches was almost\nfunny. I just knew that God had a sense of humor in his timing. I also knew\nsomehow that what was taking place had some kind of strong prophetic\nsignificance to it, although what that significance was escaped me at the\ntime.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

My\nconversations with Isaac were wide-ranging and it isn\u2019t possible to recount\neverything in an article like this, but let me recount two others because of\ntheir importance.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

John\n(in Revelation 21:16) describes Heaven as a city 1500 miles wide, 1500 miles\nlong and 1500 miles high (12,000 furlongs). Obviously, I didn\u2019t see the whole\nof Heaven in this visit \u2013 nor for that matter in any subsequent visits \u2013 but\nwhat I saw made it almost seem as if each tier (and there are apparently many\ntiers from what I saw and experienced) was like a country unto itself. Do the\nmath. 1500 X 1500 = 2,250,000 square miles. That\u2019s the area of each tier. I\nlived in Alaska for most of my life and it is easily two and a half times the\nsize of Texas at 586,000 square miles. We think of Alaska as a vast land, but\nit pales in comparison to just one tier of Heaven. When you cross the Brooks\nRange into arctic Alaska, it is almost like being on another planet!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

I\nsaid all that to say that my conversation with Isaac paused for a bit as we got\nup and began to walk through what seemed to be an endless field. We could just\nas easily have been in the same field where Isaac was meditating on the things\nof God when he saw the coming camel train with Rebekah<\/span>\nsilhouetted against a red-streaked sky and a setting sun, so graphic was\nIsaac\u2019s description.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

\u201cDid\nyou know that your father had sent Eliezer<\/span> to find a\nwife for you,\u201d I asked as we re-lived that moment.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u201cYes,\u201d\nhe responded. \u201cMy mother and I had shared a wonderful relationship with each\nother. It was the only real feminine companionship I\u2019d had for the first 37\nyears of my life. The servants were there of course, and there were many young\nmaidens among them who caught my eye momentarily, but the \u201cknowing\u201d that comes\nwithin your spirit wasn\u2019t there. It had been three years since Mother had\npassed on and I was beginning to feel the need for someone \u2013 a counterpart, an\n\u201cother self\u201d \u2013 who would fulfill me like Mother fulfilled Father and\nvice-versa.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

\u201cEliezer<\/span> had long been Father\u2019s most trusted servant and\nfaithful steward. When he left to fulfill his mission, I was aware of it; and I\nknew that he would choose wisely and effectively. There was great anticipation\nin me and excitement during the waiting time, and yet I had peace.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Re-living\nthe scene when Isaac first saw Rebekah<\/span> was\nrevelatory. I can\u2019t say that I fully understood what I was seeing at that moment,\nnot having yet reached my tenth birthday, but something was communicated in the\nrealm of the spirit that later bore fruit. Eliezer<\/span>\nhad done his job well. In a very real sense he had served as a paraklete<\/span>. When he delivered Rebekah<\/span>\nto Isaac, Isaac saw everything in Rebekah<\/span> that he had\ndesired and expected. She was indeed his counterpart, his \u201cother self.\u201d What I\nsaw take place was an instant reciprocal communication of love between the two\nof them, and it was a love that lasted their lifetimes.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

I\nbegan to think about the two sons that came of their union \u2013 Jacob and Esau \u2013\nand Isaac saw what I was thinking. \u201cCome on,\u201d he said, \u201cand I\u2019ll introduce you\nto Jacob \u2013 Israel!\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

We\nmet back at the bench where I\u2019d talked with Abraham. Jacob \u2013 like Abraham and\nIsaac \u2013 was in the prime of life looking, I would imagine, much like he did\nwhen he went to work for Laban<\/span> \u2013 tanned, outdoorsy,\nmuscular\u2026 you get the picture.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Seeing\nJacob in this way made me look around at other people. None were really close\nto us, other than a few passers-by. No one looked old! You understand my\nreference point from my youth, but there were no \u201cgray-hairs,\u201d no \u201cold\u201d people.\nI realized that being with the Lord and being in His presence had a powerful\neffect on people\u2019s appearance. When Jesus was talking with Martha (upon the\noccasion of Lazarus having died) He said to her,<\/span>\n<\/span>\u201c<\/span><\/i>I am the resurrection,\nand the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:\nAnd whosoever liveth<\/span> and believeth in me shall never\ndie. Believest<\/span> thou this?\u201d<\/span><\/i> <\/span>(See\nJohn 11:25-26)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

No\nkidding! All Jesus had to do was speak Lazarus\u2019 name and he came forth out of\nthe tomb alive and restored! Ditto for me when I was 41 years of age. When\nDella spoke life back into me and the doctor later did a complete physical, he\ntold me that I had all the markings and youth of someone at least 20 years my\njunior. Gone were the traces of former diseases and sicknesses that had been\nresident in my body. I had all the youth of a 20-year-old. (And I still do to\nthis day!) My last physical earlier this year pretty much said the same thing.\nThe doctor told me that my blood work was that of someone between 25 and 40\nyears of age \u2013 not someone nearing age 70.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

It\nwas more of a curiosity to me 60 years ago that everyone I met in Heaven was so\nyouthful and vibrant in their appearance. Now, all these years later, I\ncompletely understand! The presence of the Lord does that to people!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Well,\nI\u2019ve run out of time for today. Guess I\u2019ll pick up my discussions with Jacob in\nthe next Coffee Break. See you then.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n
