Salutations and Blessings to All!<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

During the last part of July and the first part of August, Della\nand I attended a camp meeting\/prophetic conference hosted by Peter and Cathryn<\/span> Nash and Frontline Ministries in Red Deer, Alberta.<\/span><\/b> <\/span>The\nprincipal speakers were Paul Keith Davis, Steven Shelley, Charlie Robertson,\nChuck Pierce \u2013 and of course, Peter and Cathryn<\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nrevelations and impartations were almost too numerous to recount, but I had an\nexperience that I must share before we resume our discussion on the Keys of the\nKingdom.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Many\nof you have no doubt heard of the series of really remarkable signs and wonders\nthat have been taking place with increasing frequency in gatherings all over\nthe world. I\u2019m referring in this instance to the appearance of gemstones (some\nranging in size from 44 to 54 carats) that have the appearance of diamonds,\nsapphires, rubies, emeralds, etc. but \u2013 according to expert jewelers \u2013 have\npurity, hardness, brilliance and characteristics unknown to the jewelry\nindustry. Two years ago, Mary Ellen had a stone suddenly appear in her lap\nwhile Neville Johnson was speaking that seems to be a cross between a blue\nsapphire and a brilliant green emerald.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Many\nfolks have reported gold dust or gold flakes appearing on their faces, in their\nhair, and all over their clothing \u2013 in quantities ranging from a tiny fraction\nof an ounce to many ounces. In one of our worship gatherings a couple years\nago, both Della and Sandy had very visible gold dust that appeared on their\nfaces and their clothing.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

There\nhave been numerous reports of feathers \u2013 angel feathers, if you please \u2013\nsuddenly appearing in mid-air and falling all over people during times of\nintense worship when the spirit of the Lord was being poured out on people.\nCharlie Robinson has experienced this phenomenon on numerous occasions and even\nhas some funny stories to share where some folks have literally been covered in\nfeathers.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

What\u2019s\nit all about? I don\u2019t have all the answers, but these are signs and wonders\nthat follow the believer. As I shared with Peter Nash the other day, \u201cWe see\nall these signs, and we wonder at them!\u201d (Grin)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Anyway,\nduring one of Charlie\u2019s times of sharing during this conference, a few feathers\nsuddenly appeared in mid-air and floated to the floor. For most of those\npresent \u2013 Della and me included \u2013 this was a first! We\u2019d only heard about this\nsort of thing happening, but never seen it. But it was soon to become far more\npersonal.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

There\nwas a break in the service during which an offering was taken. Della and I had\nasked the Lord how much we were to sow into the conference before even leaving\nthe U.S. The amount was set aside in advance, divided proportionally for the\nnumber of days, and then put into offering envelopes readied for each meeting.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\nhad placed this night\u2019s offering envelope just inside the cover of my Bible and\nwhen it was time for the ushers to take the offering, I opened the flap to take\nout the envelope. To my utter astonishment, a rather large feather suddenly\nappeared on the envelope. I took it out and showed it to Della, and then showed\nit to Charlie who waved it before the gathering shouting, \u201cThis is a sign,\nfolks!! This is a sign!\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

What\nwas fascinating was that the Holy Spirit flashed before me the verse from\nMalachi 3:10 about the windows of Heaven being opened and an uncontainable\nblessing being poured out when I first saw the feather. One of the Frontline\nministry team members who was sitting in front of us turned around and said to\nus, \u201cThe Lord wants you to know that He has seen your sacrifice in giving, and\nthat He holds both you and your giving in remembrance.\u201d We\u2019d said nothing to\nanyone about our giving or how sacrificial it really was so the Word was\nimpacting to say the least. The feather is a visible sign for us of the\npromises of God!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Now,\nlet\u2019s get on with today.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

THANKSGIVING: THE KEY TO RECEIVING<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

We all know how\ncrucial is the giving of thanks to the Lord, but its importance far transcends\nthe normal concept of saying, \u201cThank You, Lord!\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The apostle Paul\nspells it out in precise language:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Philippians 4:6-7<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b> <\/span>6<\/span><\/sup><\/i>Be careful (<\/span><\/i>merimnao<\/span><\/i><\/span>:<\/span><\/i>\n<\/span>fretting, anxiety) for (<\/span>medeis<\/span><\/span>:<\/span><\/span><\/i>\n<\/span>not so much as one thing, no matter\nhow insignificant) nothing; but in everything by\nprayer (<\/span>proseuche<\/span><\/span>:<\/span><\/span><\/i>\n<\/span>worship [within the framework of our\nCovenant]) and supplication (<\/span>deesis<\/span><\/span>: presenting a\n[legal] petition or request) with thanksgiving <\/b>(<\/span>eucharistia<\/span><\/span>:<\/span><\/span><\/i>\n<\/span>the language of grace [within our\ncovenant] and gratitude towards God) let your\nrequests (<\/span>aitema<\/span><\/span>:<\/span><\/span><\/i>\n<\/span>requirements, petitions) be made known unto God. 7<\/sup>And the peace of\nGod (<\/span>eirene<\/span><\/span>:\nprosperity, quietness and rest), which passeth<\/span> all understanding, shall keep (<\/span>phroureo<\/span><\/span>: be a watcher\nin advance, act as a sentinel, mount a guard, hem in and protect)<\/span><\/i> <\/span>your hearts and minds\nthrough Christ Jesus.<\/span><\/i><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

You see it don\u2019t you?\nThere is no request, no demand, and no requirement of any kind that we can or\nshould present before the Lord \u2014 under our Covenant with Him \u2014 without\nthanksgiving being given at the same time.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Why?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Thanksgiving is the\nlanguage of grace. It is the language of faith. If we do believe that God is a\ncovenant-keeping God, that our covenant with and through Christ Jesus is in\nforce, then thanksgiving becomes the language and expression of our hearts. It\nbecomes the statement of absolute faith and trust in the Word.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

We don\u2019t give thanks\nfor something we haven\u2019t<\/i> received. We give thanks for something we have<\/i><\/b>\nreceived!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

It matters not that\nwe don\u2019t see the actual manifestation yet before our natural eyes. Where we\nfirst see the manifestation is before our spiritual eyes.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We see in the realm\nof the Spirit.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Do we believe what\nJesus said,<\/span> <\/span>\u201cAnd I will give you the authority and power<\/u> to lock\nand unlock Heaven so what whatever you bind, restrict or stop on earth shall\nbe, having been already bound, restricted or stopped in Heaven.<\/i><\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

\u201cAnd whatever you break up, loose, dissolve or\nput off on earth shall be, having already been broken up, loosed, dissolved or\nput off in Heaven.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Do we believe that\nthe Keys of the Kingdom have been given to us? Have we done all that is\nnecessary to ensure that they are available to us?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

THANKSGIVING: THE LANGUAGE OF FAITH<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

The story has been\ntold of a young boy whose grandmother had promised to give him a new bicycle\nfor his birthday. Weeks went by. The birthday came and went. No bicycle had\ncome.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

He complained to his\nfather one day that \u201cGrandma promised\u201d but the bicycle hadn\u2019t come.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

\u201cMaybe if you write a\nnote to your grandmother and thank her for the bicycle, it will make a\ndifference,\u201d his father replied.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

\u201cBut, Dad, how can I\nsay \u2018thanks\u2019 for something she hasn\u2019t given?\u201d asked the boy.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u201cSon, she has given\nit to you already. You just haven\u2019t received it yet. Send the note and say\n\u2018Thank You\u2019 and see what happens.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

So the boy sat down\nand wrote, \u201cGrandma, I forgot to say thank you for the new bicycle. I really\nappreciate receiving it.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

When his grandmother\nreceived the note, she realized she hadn\u2019t fulfilled her promise and\nimmediately went out and purchased a new bicycle. She had the store assemble\nand deliver the bicycle to the boy\u2019s home so that it would be waiting for him\nwhen he got home from school.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

When the young lad\narrived home and saw the new bicycle, he had his mother call \u2018Grandma\u2019 so he\ncould talk to her.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

\u201cGrandma, I knew you\nwould keep your promise. Thank you for this wonderful bicycle!\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

This story was\nrelated to me years ago by the pastor who saw this event unfold. It is a\nclassic illustration of faith in action.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

THE LANGUAGE OF THE SPIRIT<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

Now let\u2019s take a look\nat another perspective.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Ephesians\n5:15-20<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b> <\/span>15<\/span><\/sup><\/i>See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16<\/sup>Redeeming<\/span><\/i> <\/span>(<\/span><\/i>exagorazo<\/span><\/i><\/span>:<\/span><\/i>\n<\/span>to buy up, ransom, rescue from loss)<\/span><\/span><\/i>\n<\/span>the time, because the\ndays are evil<\/span><\/i> <\/span>(<\/span><\/i>poneros<\/span><\/i><\/span>:<\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/i>hurtful or calamitous)<\/span>. 17<\/sup>Wherefore be ye not unwise, but\nunderstanding what the<\/span> will<\/span><\/span><\/i> <\/span>(<\/span><\/i>thelema<\/span><\/i><\/span>:<\/span><\/i>\n<\/span><\/i>inclination, desire, pleasure)<\/span><\/span><\/i>\n<\/span>of the Lord is. 18<\/sup>And\nbe not drunk<\/span><\/i> <\/span>(<\/span><\/i>methusko<\/span><\/i><\/span>:<\/span><\/i> <\/span>intoxicated)<\/span><\/span><\/i>\n<\/span>with wine, wherein is\nexcess; but be filled<\/span><\/i> <\/span>[The tense of this word in the Greek text is present-future,\nmeaning: to be being continually filled or finished] (<\/span><\/i>pleroo<\/span><\/i><\/span>:<\/span><\/i>\n<\/span>thoroughly furnished)<\/span><\/span><\/i>\n<\/span>with the Spirit; 19<\/sup>Speaking<\/span><\/i> <\/span>(<\/span><\/i>laleo<\/span><\/i><\/span>:<\/span><\/i>\n<\/span><\/i>uttering articulate words)<\/span><\/span><\/i> <\/span>to yourselves in psalms<\/span><\/i> <\/span>(<\/span><\/i>psalmos<\/span><\/i><\/span>:<\/span><\/i>\n<\/span><\/i>specifically from the Book of Psalms\nand accompanied with other voices, harps or other musical instruments)<\/span><\/span><\/i>\n<\/span>and hymns<\/span><\/i> <\/span>(<\/span><\/i>humnos<\/span><\/i><\/span>:<\/span><\/i>\n<\/span><\/i>specific celebratory hymns from the\nPsalms)<\/span><\/span><\/i>\n<\/span>and spiritual<\/span><\/i> <\/span>(<\/span><\/i>pneumatikos<\/span><\/i><\/span>:<\/span><\/i>\n<\/span><\/i>divinely supernatural, ethereal,\nnon-carnal [hence, that which does not come out of the intellect)<\/span><\/span><\/i>\n<\/span>songs, singing and\nmaking melody<\/span><\/i> <\/span>(<\/span><\/i>psallo<\/span><\/i><\/span>:<\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/i>to twang or to pluck on a stringed instrument in celebratory\nmusic)<\/span><\/span><\/i>\n<\/span>in your heart to the\nLord; 20<\/sup>Giving thanks<\/u><\/b><\/span><\/i> <\/span>(<\/span><\/i>eucharisteo<\/span><\/i><\/span>:<\/span><\/i>\n<\/span><\/i>expressing gratitude [within the\nframework of our Covenant])<\/span><\/i>\n<\/span><\/i>always<\/span><\/u><\/i><\/b> <\/span>for\nall things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ<\/span><\/u><\/i>;<\/span><\/i><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

If you read Paul\u2019s\ninstruction and understood the context of what he wrote, it becomes clear that\nthe giving of thanks is integral to the language of the Spirit.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Notice how he begins\nthis discourse<\/span>:<\/span>\n<\/span>\u201cSee that ye walk\ncircumspectly \u2014 with eyes wide open \u2014 not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the\ntime because the days are evil.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Why would he say\nthat?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

It\u2019s pretty simple,\nreally. Let me digress for a moment to remind you of our priorities as\nbelievers.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

We need to observe\nthe state of the world around us as it compares to the standard Jesus set\nbefore us in His command concerning prayer.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Remember?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

\u201cYour Kingdom come, Your will be done in\nearth, in the same way that it is done in Heaven.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

The objective before\nus always is that the Kingdom of God be in operational authority (as opposed to\ndelegated) and manifested in the earth.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

KINGDOM CHARACTERISTICS AND KINGDOM AUTHORITY<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

Jesus made it\nabundantly clear.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Matthew\n6:33<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b> <\/span>33<\/span><\/sup><\/i>But seek ye first the kingdom of God<\/u>, and his\nrighteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.<\/span><\/i><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Matthew\n9:35<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b> <\/span>35<\/span><\/sup><\/i>And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in\ntheir synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom<\/u>, and healing\nevery sickness and every disease among the people.<\/span><\/i><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Matthew\n10:7-8<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b> <\/span>7<\/span><\/sup><\/i>And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at\nhand<\/u>. 8<\/sup>Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast\nout devils: freely ye have received, freely give.<\/span><\/i><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Matthew\n11:11-12<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b> <\/span>11<\/span><\/sup><\/i>Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there\nhath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is\nleast in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he<\/u>. 12<\/sup>And from\nthe days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth<\/span> violence, and the violent take it by force.<\/span><\/i><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Matthew\n12:28<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b> <\/span>28<\/span><\/sup><\/i>But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the\nkingdom of God is come unto you<\/u>.<\/span><\/i><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Matthew\n13:10<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b> <\/span>10<\/span><\/sup><\/i>And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest<\/span> thou unto them in parables? 11<\/sup>He\nanswered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the\nmysteries of the kingdom of heaven<\/u>, but to them it is not given.<\/span><\/i><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

This\nlast statement \u2014<\/span> <\/span>\u201cit is given unto you to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of\nHeaven\u201d<\/span><\/i> <\/span>\u2014 signifies the fact that\nHe reveals the Kingdom, its authority and power, and its character and nature\nonly to those who are His disciples.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

There\nare literally hundreds of such examples in Jesus\u2019 preaching and teaching. In\nthis 13th chapter of Matthew, for example, Jesus describes at least 12\nattributes of the Kingdom.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Before Jesus was\nbetrayed, seized and crucified, He made the following prophetic announcement:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Matthew 24:14<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b>\n<\/span>14<\/span><\/sup><\/i>And this gospel of the kingdom shall be\npreached in all the world for a witness unto all nations<\/u>; and then shall\nthe end come.<\/span><\/i><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Now, let\u2019s get back to our discussion on the relevance of\nthe Keys of the Kingdom to the giving of thanks.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

In our previous\ndiscussions we have talked about the use of the Keys of the Kingdom to pray for\none another, to declare forgiveness and the remission of the sins \u2014 especially\nthose that are committed by brothers or sisters in the Lord.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Within that context,\nconsider now what Paul writes to the Colossians.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Colossians 4:2-4<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b>\n<\/span>2<\/span><\/sup><\/i>Continue<\/span><\/i>\n<\/span><\/i>(<\/span><\/i>proskartereo\u00f4<\/span><\/i><\/span>:<\/span><\/i>\n<\/span><\/i>persist, contend, persevere, be\nconstantly diligent)<\/span><\/span><\/i> <\/span>in prayer<\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/i>(<\/span><\/i>proseuche<\/span><\/i><\/span>)<\/span><\/i>,<\/span><\/i> <\/span>and watch in the same with thanksgiving<\/b><\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/i>(eucharistia<\/span><\/span><\/i>)<\/span><\/i>;<\/span><\/i> <\/span>3<\/span><\/sup><\/i>Withal<\/span><\/i>\n<\/span><\/i>(<\/span><\/i>hama<\/span><\/i><\/span>:<\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/i>at the same time [used as an adverb\ndenoting close association])<\/span><\/i>\n<\/span>praying<\/span><\/i> <\/span>(<\/span><\/i>proseuchomai<\/span><\/i><\/span>)<\/span><\/i>\n<\/span>also for us, that God\nwould open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for\nwhich I am also in bonds: 4<\/sup>That I may make it manifest, as I ought\nto speak.<\/span><\/i><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Take note of the fact\nthat there is an inseparable link between prayer and thanksgiving. Every\nrequest \u2014 EVERY REQUEST \u2014 if that request is to be made in faith, MUST be\naccompanied by and with thanksgiving.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
