It is important to take into consideration the\nsincere, genuine intercession and prayers of God's people when judging the\noutcome of an election.<\/span><\/b><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><b><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#192763'>Pollsters (and I know a few of them) do their best to take\na statistical sampling of people's opinions and intentions, and come up with\nsomething that reasonably approximates a current view of where the electorate\nsees things.<\/span><\/b><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>Some pollsters, of course, do everything they can to keep\npolitical agendas out of the way when doing their sampling.&nbsp; Others -- and\noften ones we hear quoted in the mainstream media -- are heavily tilted to\nreflect a particular viewpoint and agenda.&nbsp; I'd like to take some time\ntoday to cite a few statistics you may not be aware of that span the past 30+\nyears, and to show you why the overwhelming majority of national polls have\nmissed their projections so drastically.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><b><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#192763'>Now!&nbsp; That said, <span class=SpellE>Gooooooodddd<\/span>\n<span class=SpellE>Morrrrrrrnnnnniiinnnnggg<\/span>!&nbsp; Got my Scottish\nbrogue working there in case you hadn't figured that <span class=GramE>out.<\/span><\/span><\/b><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>San Francisco Bay French Roast blended with Cascade\nDouble-Roasted French is today's coffee.&nbsp; The French Press is steeping,\nand it ought to be ready to pour by the time you get here.&nbsp; Come on by and\njoin me for a cup!<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>Not long after I lost my race for the U.S. House of\nRepresentatives in 2004, I met a pollster whose name you likely wouldn't recognize,\nalthough he works behind the scenes on both sides of the political aisle.&nbsp;\nHis techniques and sampling methods were a bit different than most of those we\ncommonly hear about, such as for instance, <span class=SpellE>Zogby<\/span>,\nGallup or Rasmussen.&nbsp; As we talked about the polling process, I mentioned\nto him the great disparity between the actual outcome of the Presidential races\nand the numbers the pollsters had quoted on either the day before or the actual\nday of the election.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>Because <span class=SpellE>Gabe<\/span> was also a believer\nin Jesus Christ, we discussed the impact that Christians have on the outcome of\nelections by taking the responsibility the apostle Paul commands (in I Timothy\n2:1-3) through prayer and intercession.&nbsp; <span class=SpellE>Gabe<\/span>\nwas quick to remind me of the outcomes in many elections that pollsters simply\ncouldn't gauge where God's people had been alerted to political agendas\ncontrary to God's Word.&nbsp; When their intercession was real, concerted, and\nin agreement with the heart of the Lord Jesus Christ, the outcomes were\ndramatically different than pollsters predicted.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>In 1976 just days before the election, most polls showed a\nten-to-twelve point difference between the candidates, and some pollsters had\nJimmy Carter leading Gerald Ford by as much as 30 percentage points.&nbsp; In\nfact, Jimmy Carter barely won the election, and he won by a single percentage\npoint.&nbsp; (I've had to apologize to my fellow-believers many times since --\nand a few of them have mercilessly though humorously harassed me -- for voting\nfor Carter.&nbsp; I was, unfortunately, not among those who were praying and\ninterceding over that election.)<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>1980 was a different matter.&nbsp; Ronald Reagan won\neasily, and although there were many Christians who misjudged him at the time,\nbelieving there was a better &quot;Christian&quot; candidate, he went down in\nhistory as one of the greatest presidents <\/span><st1:country-region><st1:place><span\n  style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n  color:#005500'>America<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#005500'> has ever had.&nbsp; Christians had come to appreciate this man\nby the time his first term of office was ending and he won the 1984 election in\none of the (if not THE) greatest electoral landslides in American history.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>Believers were lulled into passivity during the Reagan\nyears.&nbsp; George H.W. Bush won easily in 1988 by virtue of being Reagan's\nVice President.&nbsp; Following the first Gulf War in 1991, for a time he held\nan 81% approval rating.&nbsp; Then he went back on a promise to never raise\ntaxes in order to balance the budget because of the high cost of the Gulf\nWar.&nbsp; Never mind the fact that the country bailed on GHWB, Christians\nbegan calling him &quot;The&nbsp;Antichrist.&quot;&nbsp; Despite the efforts of\nmany leaders throughout the body of Christ to rally prayer for him, there was\nsuch division among Christians and particularly among Evangelicals that many\nwere praying against his reelection.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>With such division among Christians, I remarked to Della\none day that God was going to permit Bill Clinton to be elected as judgment for\nthose who spoke evil of Bush senior, and that believers would soon rue the day\nthey helped to elect him.&nbsp; It was an accurate prophecy.&nbsp; Understand\nthat the issue wasn't that folks were just speaking evil of GHWB, they were\ndishonoring the position and the office God had given.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>Christians felt they had little to stand behind with Dole\nin 1996 and despite a grim record on issues of concern to believers, <\/span><st1:City><st1:place><span\n  style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n  color:#005500'>Clinton<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:City><span style='font-size:\n13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#005500'> was\neasily reelected.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>2000 was a different matter.&nbsp; Eighteen months before\nthe 2000 elections, the Lord spoke to Bob Jones (whom many of us know as one of\nthe most accurate prophets of modern times) and told him He was going to raise\nup &quot;a burning Bush&quot; to lead this nation.&nbsp; It was a humorous\nmetaphor, but an accurate word.&nbsp; Not long thereafter, Bob received another\nword from the Lord.&nbsp; This time the Lord told him that if God's people\nwould pray and intercede over the presidential elections, He would give <\/span><st1:country-region><st1:place><span\n  style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n  color:#005500'>America<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#005500'> 16 years of righteous leadership to undo and reverse the\ndownward spiral of the <\/span><st1:City><st1:place><span style='font-size:13.5pt;\n  font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#005500'>Clinton<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:City><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#005500'> years.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>Some months before Texas Governor George W. Bush decided\nto throw his hat into the presidential ring, his pastor and several other Holy\nSpirit-filled people laid hands on him and began to pray.&nbsp; As they were praying,\none of them began to prophesy that God had anointed him and commissioned him to\nbecome President, and that if he would remain humble before the Lord, God would\nensure his presidency and protect him throughout.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>Word of this began to spread slowly throughout the body of\nChrist, and Christians everywhere began to mobilize in prayer over the nation\nin ways never before seen in <\/span><st1:country-region><st1:place><span\n  style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n  color:#005500'>America<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#005500'>.&nbsp; Della and I were among many other believers who fasted\nand prayed for an extended period over the outcome of the 2000 election.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>Meanwhile Al Gore was the darling of the mainstream media,\nand the odds easily favored him as Bill Clinton's VP.&nbsp; As is usual with\npre-election polls, the numbers varied widely throughout the campaigns,\nswinging wildly as the weeks progressed.&nbsp; On <span class=GramE>election\nday<\/span>, most of the polls were favoring Al Gore by an average of four to\nsix percentage points, and a few had him leading by even greater numbers.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>I'll have to admit to <span class=GramE>a certain<\/span>\nuneasiness as the election returns were being counted, but I kept reminding\nmyself (and Della) of what God had said.&nbsp; George Bush was God's choice and\nHis anointed to lead this nation -- not Al Gore.&nbsp; We simply had to stand\non that Word.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>Despite a massive effort to overturn the election results\n-- and many of you easily remember the <\/span><st1:State><st1:place><span\n  style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n  color:#005500'>Florida<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:State><span style='font-size:\n13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#005500'> days of\nthe &quot;hanging <span class=SpellE>chad<\/span>&quot; -- Bush won the\npresidency.&nbsp; Christians had prayed, and God had kept His Word.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>With the help of a very &quot;in the tank&quot; media,\nJohn Kerry mounted a tough campaign to oust George Bush in 2004.&nbsp; The\nmainstream media had done a first-rate job of convincing Americans that GWB had\ngone to war in <\/span><st1:country-region><st1:place><span style='font-size:\n  13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#005500'>Iraq<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#005500'> for the wrong reasons, and that there were &quot;no <\/span><st1:stockticker><span\n class=SpellE><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\n Arial;color:#005500'>WMD<\/span><\/span><\/st1:stockticker><span class=SpellE><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#005500'>'s<\/span><\/span><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;\nmso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#005500'>.&quot;&nbsp; <\/span><st1:stockticker><span\n class=SpellE><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\n Arial;color:#005500'>WMD<\/span><\/span><\/st1:stockticker><span class=SpellE><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#005500'>'s<\/span><\/span><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;\nmso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#005500'> had never been part of Bush's\njustification for the war although many on the left claimed otherwise.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>During my run for the House of Representatives, I was\nprivileged to meet the Assistant Secretary of Defense during a time when he was\nnegotiating with <span class=SpellE>Bashar<\/span> <span class=SpellE>Assad<\/span>\nand the Syrian government for the return of Saddam's <\/span><st1:stockticker><span\n style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n color:#005500'>WMD<\/span><\/st1:stockticker><span style='font-size:13.5pt;\nfont-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#005500'> arsenal\n(spirited away in the early days of the Iraq War, first into the <span\nclass=SpellE>Bekaa<\/span> Valley in Lebanon, and then back into Syria after\nSaddam was caught).&nbsp; I asked him why the &quot;no <\/span><st1:stockticker><span\n style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n color:#005500'>WMD<\/span><\/st1:stockticker><span style='font-size:13.5pt;\nfont-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#005500'>&quot; mantra by\nthe <span class=GramE>left,<\/span> and why the administration was not making it\nabundantly clear that Saddam actually did have <\/span><st1:stockticker><span\n class=SpellE><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\n Arial;color:#005500'>WMD<\/span><\/span><\/st1:stockticker><span class=SpellE><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#005500'>'s<\/span><\/span><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;\nmso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#005500'>.&nbsp; He told me that the\nadministration felt that without the weapons in hand the <span class=SpellE>Leftmedia<\/span>\nwould never accept nor publish the <span class=GramE>truth,<\/span> and that it\nreally didn't matter.&nbsp; (It was a decision that puzzles me to this day.)<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>Once again, Christians had a clear choice.&nbsp; There\nsimply was no contest.&nbsp; John Kerry was espousing positions no\nBible-believing, Holy Spirit-walking Christian could possibly support.&nbsp;\nWere he to be elected, it would be the undoing of what progress George Bush had\nmade in his first four years.&nbsp; Christians began to rally nation-wide in\nprayer and intercession.&nbsp; If 2000 had been a watershed in Christians\npraying and interceding, it paled next to the efforts mobilized by leaders in\nthe body of Christ in 2004.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>Pollsters simply couldn't take that intercession into\naccount in their polling.&nbsp; For weeks prior to the election, Bush trailed\nKerry by varying percentages.&nbsp; On <span class=GramE>election day<\/span>\nonce again most polls showed Kerry leading by some four-to-six percentage\npoints, and a couple of polls had Kerry beating Bush by 12.&nbsp; When the\nvotes were counted, there were some very puzzled pollsters who simply could not\nfigure out how they missed it so badly.&nbsp; George Bush won by the largest\nactual plurality of votes in electoral history, and just <span class=GramE>shy<\/span>\nof five percentage points.&nbsp; It was a shocker that stunned even the most\nseasoned and theoretically most accurate of those who made their living by\nprojecting election outcomes<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>Enter the 2008 presidential race.&nbsp; A very likeable\nand outgoing personality, <span class=SpellE>Barack<\/span> <span class=SpellE>Obama<\/span>\nhas the ability to mesmerize his audiences with his speeches.&nbsp; Few\ncandidates for the office of the presidency have had his ability to communicate\nso effectively with audiences.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>There's just one problem.&nbsp; Christians might overlook\nthe fact that he has never led anything in his life, never served in an\nexecutive position, and has a zero track record to back up what he says.&nbsp;\nThey might even overlook the fact that out of 120 votes cast in the <\/span><st1:State><st1:place><span\n  style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n  color:#005500'>Illinois<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:State><span style='font-size:\n13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#005500'> house\nbefore he became senator, he voted &quot;present&quot; instead of taking a position\non the issue.&nbsp; Christians just might be able to overlook <span\nclass=GramE>all that<\/span> IF -- and it would be a&nbsp;<b>BIG IF<\/b>&nbsp;--\nhe stood for the things that represent righteousness, uprightness, integrity\nand had a Biblical worldview.&nbsp; He doesn't.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>The recent California Supreme Court decision that\nlegalized homosexual marriage evoked a letter from <span class=SpellE>Obama<\/span>\nto the Gay and Lesbian Alliance which stated in part, &quot;As president, I\nwill stand behind gays and the effort to normalize their acceptance in\nsociety.&nbsp; I will also work to overturn the Federal Marriage Amendment\nbanning gay marriage.&quot;<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>When asked a few weeks ago by author and pastor, Rick\nWarren, &quot;When do you believe that life begins?&quot; One <span class=SpellE>one<\/span> day in particular, he\nstood up for a photo-op in front of several hundred spent rocket casings that\nhad been fired by <span class=SpellE>Hamas<\/span> and Hezbollah against <\/span><st1:country-region><st1:place><span\n  style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n  color:#005500'>Israel<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#005500'>.&nbsp; He said to <\/span><st1:country-region><st1:place><span\n  style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n  color:#005500'>Israel<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#005500'>'s leadership, &quot;I will stand with you against the\nterrorists.&quot;&nbsp; Later that very same day, he was photographed with the\nleaders of <span class=SpellE>Hamas<\/span> and the camera caught him saying to\nthem, &quot;I support you, and I will do everything in my power to establish a\npeace agreement between you and <\/span><st1:country-region><st1:place><span\n  style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n  color:#005500'>Israel<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#005500'>.&quot;&nbsp; That's not simple <span class=SpellE>naivet\u00c3<\/span>\u00a9:\nthat is the reckless endangerment of <\/span><st1:country-region><st1:place><span\n  style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n  color:#005500'>Israel<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#005500'> -- a nation we've sworn to support and defend!&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>It matters not that he might have all the answers to the\ncurrent economic crisis.&nbsp; It matters not that he might have the right\nanswers to dealing with issues of war and peace.&nbsp; No matter how a\ncandidate stands on these issues, if he or she supports the wholesale murder of\nunborn children (more than 50,000 deaths of babies since Roe v. Wade) under the\nmythical premise of &quot;a woman's choice,&quot; no believing Christian can\nsupport that candidate without himself\/herself suffering grave spiritual\nconsequences for their tacit support of sin.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>The Bible is abundantly clear in many, many passages that\nhomosexual or lesbian behavior is plain, simple sin in God's eyes.&nbsp; For\nany candidate to support this kind of wanton and deviant behavior means that no\nChristian who walks in a love-relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ can be in\nsupport or vote for them without themselves suffering the consequences of their\nsupport for sin.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>Let's make something clear.&nbsp; I am neither pro-<span\nclass=SpellE>Obama<\/span> nor anti-<span class=SpellE>Obama<\/span>.&nbsp; I\nactually kind of like the guy, but I am anti-sin.&nbsp; What that means is that\nwhen someone actively supports and promotes sin -- anything which opposes and\nexalts itself above the knowledge of God -- I cannot stand in agreement with\nthem, support them, or promote them to leadership over this nation.&nbsp;\nBecause <span class=SpellE>Barack<\/span> <span class=SpellE>Obama<\/span> has\nchosen a course of action and support for activities which clearly oppose the\nthings of God, I cannot give him my support.&nbsp; If I do, I come under the\nsame judgment of sin that he promotes.&nbsp; It is extremely clear.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>Let's back up a bit.&nbsp; It was about a year ago that\nthe Lord spoke to me and told me that this election was going to have many\nsurprises, that there would be some stunning events surrounding the campaigns,\nand finally, that the outcome of this election would be very different than the\npollsters and pundits predicted.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>It seems like it was roughly that same time that Lou Engle\n(associated with Mike <span class=SpellE>Bickle<\/span> and the International\nHouse of Prayer in <\/span><st1:City><st1:place><span style='font-size:13.5pt;\n  font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#005500'>Kansas City<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:City><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#005500'>) renewed The Call, a national prayer movement he had begun on behalf\nof the 2000 elections.&nbsp; Despite Lou's success with The Call in 2000, no\none could have imagined how it would explode on the national scene in 2007 and\n2008 in the manner we've seen.&nbsp; At each successive gathering of Christians\n(who come together, by the way, to pray for this nation and the elections) the\nnumbers have increased.&nbsp; Literally tens and hundreds of thousands of\nChristians have gathered together in Washington, DC, in Miami, in Los Angeles,\nin San Francisco, in Denver, in Chicago, and in many other cities throughout\nthis nation praying with one heart, one mind, and one purpose: that God would\nraise up righteous leadership in the White House, in the Congress, in the\nSenate, in the Governors' houses in every state, in state legislatures.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>There's a spiritual principle here, folks, and it is\nrevealed in a couple of scriptures.&nbsp; In Matthew 18:18-20, Jesus\nsays,&nbsp;<\/span><b><i><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;\nmso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#192763'>&quot;Verily I say unto you, <span\nclass=GramE>Whatsoever<\/span> ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven:\nand whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say\nunto you, <span class=GramE>That<\/span> if two of you shall agree on earth as\ntouching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father\nwhich is in heaven.&nbsp; For where two or three are gathered together in my\nname, there am I in the midst of them.&quot;<\/span><\/i><\/b><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>Then in John's first epistle, he writes,&nbsp;<\/span><b><i><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#192763'>&quot;And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if\nwe ask any thing according to his will, he <span class=SpellE>heareth<\/span>\nus: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the\npetitions that we desired of him.&quot;<\/span><\/i><\/b><span style='font-size:\n13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#005500'>&nbsp;(I\nJohn 5:14-15)<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>What about it?&nbsp; When thousands gather together in\nagreement as to God's purposes, do you not think God hears and honors?&nbsp;\nAnd if they are asking according to His will, do you not think God is going to\nshow up on the scene and answer accordingly?&nbsp; I promise you that He will!<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span class=GramE><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;\nmso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#005500'>Now.<\/span><\/span><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#005500'>&nbsp; <span class=GramE>To the polls.<\/span>&nbsp; As I write\nthis with three weeks to go, <span class=SpellE>Zogby<\/span> shows <span\nclass=SpellE>Obama<\/span> leading McCain by 1.9 percentage points.&nbsp; <\/span><st1:City><st1:place><span\n  style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n  color:#005500'>Gallup<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:City><span style='font-size:\n13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#005500'> shows <span\nclass=SpellE>Obama<\/span> up by 7 and the New York Times shows him up by\n10.&nbsp; It is a rerun of 2004.&nbsp; As in the past, pollsters' numbers\nobviously vary because of political bias.&nbsp; Those polls with less bias show\ncloser numbers.&nbsp; Polls with greater bias show a greater spread.&nbsp;\nNothing has changed.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>With three weeks to go, if Christians will stay focused\nand continue in agreement we will see an election outcome in accordance with\nthe Word and the Will of God.&nbsp; We will see a righteous and honorable\npresident and vice-president who have integrity, who will listen to wise and\nGodly counsel and direct the affairs of this nation accordingly.&nbsp; Once\nagain, the pollsters will be scratching their heads and trying to figure out\nwhat they did wrong.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>The economy of this nation is not yet at stake despite the\nwild ups and downs in the financial markets.&nbsp; There is a shaking going on\nto be sure, and it will continue.&nbsp; <\/span><st1:City><st1:place><span\n  style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n  color:#005500'>Babylon<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:City><span style='font-size:\n13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#005500'> IS going\nto fall -- but not yet!&nbsp; God is giving His people a few more years for the\nsake of a very great ingathering and harvest of souls.&nbsp; <span class=GramE>This\nnation, and the world, are<\/span> on the cusp of revival and renewal where we\nwill see many hundreds of thousands and millions come to Jesus Christ.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>How God's people vote in this election is absolutely\ncritical!&nbsp; I believe we will be held accountable before the Lord for our\nchoices.&nbsp; If we vote based on emotion and anger over our perception of\ncurrent events and support a candidate who promises (and has a supporting track\nrecord) to expand abortion rights and legalize (and expand) homosexual\nmarriages, we will place ourselves on the wrong side of God's Word and be held\naccountable.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>If we vote with an ear to what the Holy Spirit is saying\nand support a candidate who otherwise has flaws and takes political positions\nwe disagree with, but otherwise stands for uprightness and righteousness as far\nas God's Word is concerned, we will see the favor of the Lord.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><i><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#00279D'>&quot;Let the pulpit resound with the doctrine and\nsentiments of religious liberty.
