The growth of readership has\ngone through spurts and spasms, and depending on who you talk to (and who is\ndoing the checking) we have something on the order of 500,000 (my figure) to 2\nmillion or 3 million readers around the world in just about every major\nnation.&nbsp; That's a blessing to me and, I trust, to those of you who have\ncontinued to subscribe.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>Now then, let's get on with today's discussion.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>Yesterday morning, around <\/span><st1:time Hour=\"3\"\nMinute=\"0\"><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\n Arial;color:#333300'>3:00 AM<\/span><\/st1:time><span style='font-size:13.5pt;\nfont-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#333300'>, the Lord\nawakened me with the statement He made to the prophet Ezekiel (see Ezekiel <\/span><st1:time\nMinute=\"30\" Hour=\"22\"><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;\n mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#333300'>22:30<\/span><\/st1:time><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#333300'>)<\/span><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;\nmso-bidi-font-family:Arial'>:&nbsp;<b><i><span style='color:maroon'>&quot;I\nsought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the\ngap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it<span class=GramE>:....<\/span>&quot;<\/span><\/i><\/b>&nbsp;<span\nstyle='color:#333300'>and He stopped there.&nbsp; Then I saw Him choose Abraham out of all the\npeople on earth to become the father of a nation and a people who would walk by\nfaith.&nbsp; I saw how Joseph was chosen to preserve his family, and the future\nof the nation of <\/span><st1:country-region><st1:place><span style='font-size:\n  13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#333300'>Israel<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#333300'>.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>Again, I saw Moses leading Israel out of Egypt; I saw\ntheir rebellion against God and the stirring of His anger against them and expressed\ndesire to destroy the nation and start all over again with Moses.&nbsp; I saw\nhow Moses pleaded with God and how his intercession spared the whole nation.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>Move forward in <\/span><st1:country-region><st1:place><span\n  style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n  color:#333300'>Israel<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#333300'>'s history and you have Daniel interceding for <\/span><st1:country-region><st1:place><span\n  style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n  color:#333300'>Israel<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#333300'> in captivity and God showing him their return.&nbsp; How about\nEsther's three days of fasting, prayer and intercession?&nbsp; It changed the\ncourse of history for the Jewish people and prevented their destruction.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>You're beginning to get the picture, I'm sure.&nbsp;\nHistory is filled with examples of how just one individual put everything on\nthe line with God, and how their pursuit of His righteousness and mercy altered\nthe course of history.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>Let's take it to more modern times.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>Consider <\/span><st1:country-region><st1:place><span\n  style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n  color:#333300'>America<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#333300'>'s beginnings.&nbsp; We've talked much about our nation's\nfounding fathers and how they sought to instill a reverence of the Lord God in\nevery part of our nation's early beginnings.&nbsp; But what about the\nEvangelists, the Prophets, the prayer warriors who interceded on behalf of this\nnation in those early days?&nbsp; What about their sacrifices, their\ncommitments not only to pray, but to speak out and to take the Gospel of the\nLord Jesus Christ into the very halls of governance of those first thirteen\ncolonies, and then to those who formed our nation's Constitution and established\na bulwark of liberty for God's people in the world?<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>In the early days of this nation we had a man by the name\nof Jonathan Edwards.&nbsp; He, along with George Whitefield, <span class=GramE>were<\/span>\nboth intercessors and preachers who were largely responsible for what we know\nas The Great Awakening.&nbsp; Jonathan Edwards made the following observation\nof prayer and intercession, and it marked the life of a man whose influence\nupon our nation's founding fathers was nearly immeasurable.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;color:blue'>&quot;I feel an ardency of soul to\nbe . . . emptied and annihilated, to lie in the dust and be full of Christ\nalone, to love Him with a holy and pure love, to trust in Him, to live on Him,\nand to be<i>&nbsp;perfectly sanctified<\/i>&nbsp;and made pure with a divine and\nheavenly purity.&quot;<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>That, my friends, is the mark of the intercessor -- one\nwho has emptied themselves and focused on what the heart's desire of the Lord\nJesus Christ is, and then implements that desire in prayer with commands,\ndecrees, and declarations which rip apart the strongholds of Satan and prepare the\nway for the Gospel to be heard and received.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>Edwards had the soul and the spirit of an\nintercessor.&nbsp; He often wept over his congregation as he preached.&nbsp;\nHis preaching,&nbsp;<b><i>combined with his weeping and groaning intercession\nwhile he preached<\/i><\/b>, created what some observers referred to as &quot;a\nspiritual hurricane&quot; resulting in people falling down prostrate under\nconviction, others being &quot;slain in the spirit&quot; (to use the\nPentecostal expression), and still others hanging onto their chairs or columns\nalong the sides and center of the auditorium to keep from falling.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>His oft-companion in ministry, George Whitefield, was\neasily the most widely traveled preacher in the world until modern times.&nbsp;\nHe crossed the Atlantic 13 times preaching throughout <\/span><st1:country-region><st1:place><span\n  style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n  color:#333300'>America<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#333300'>, <\/span><st1:country-region><st1:place><span style='font-size:\n  13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#333300'>England<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#333300'> and <\/span><st1:place><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\n Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#333300'>Europe<\/span><\/st1:place><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#333300'>.&nbsp; His voyages were marked by his staying in corners of the\nship for hours and days at a time in prayer and intercession, and then followed\nby his preaching to (and converting) many of his fellow-travelers or\nship-mates.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>John Newton (who wrote Amazing Grace) said of Whitefield,\n&quot;It seemed as if he&nbsp;<b>never<\/b>&nbsp;preached in vain.&quot;&nbsp;\nGeorge Whitefield -- as I have noted in the Coffee Break series,&nbsp;<\/span><b><i><span\nstyle='font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#333300'>THE\nAMERICAN COVENANT<\/span><\/i><\/b><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;\nmso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#333300'>&nbsp;-- was followed continually by\nBenjamin Franklin.&nbsp; <\/span><st1:City><st1:place><span style='font-size:\n  13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#333300'>Franklin<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:City><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#333300'>, as we all know, was famous for his various experiments and\nscientific mind.&nbsp; During one of Whitefield's sermons, he walked away to a\nspot where he could not hear him too clearly, marked that spot, and began\nmeasuring the area that encompassed the listeners.&nbsp; He concluded by his\nexperiment that not less than 30,000 people could hear George Whitefield\nclearly and easily without amplification -- so great was the power and\nanointing under which he preached.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>But these are only anecdotes of intercessors.&nbsp; Let's\nget to the picture of intercession, and what is accomplished in the midst of\nit.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>We come back to a verse we've quoted several times from\nPsalm 115:16 where David writes,&nbsp;<\/span><b><i><span style='font-size:13.5pt;\nfont-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:maroon'>&quot;The heaven,\neven the heavens, are the LORD\u2019S: but the earth hath he given to the children\nof men.&quot;<\/span><\/i><\/b><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>This is an extremely important principle to\nremember.&nbsp; Genesis 1 and 2 tell us that following creation of the earth\nand all that is therein, he formed man, breathed His life into him, then gave\nman dominion over everything upon the earth, and put him into the Garden of Eden\nto&nbsp;<\/span><b><i><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;\nmso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:maroon'>&quot;dress it&quot;<\/span><\/i><\/b><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial'>&nbsp;<span\nstyle='color:#333300'>(the Hebrew word is&nbsp;<\/span><i><span\nstyle='color:maroon'>'<span class=SpellE>abad<\/span><\/span><\/i><span\nstyle='color:maroon'>:<\/span><span style='color:#333300'>&nbsp;meaning&nbsp;<u>to\nwork it, care for it, and have dominion over it<\/u>) and&nbsp;<\/span><b><i><span\nstyle='color:maroon'>&quot;keep it&quot;<\/span><\/i><\/b>&nbsp;<span\nstyle='color:#333300'>(the Hebrew word here is&nbsp;<\/span><span class=SpellE><i><span\nstyle='color:maroon'>shamar<\/span><\/i><\/span><span style='color:maroon'>:<\/span><span\nstyle='color:#333300'>&nbsp;<span class=SpellE>meaning<u>to<\/u><\/span><u>\nguard, protect and hedge about, being circumspect of all therein<\/u>).<\/span><\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>Adam surrendered day-to-day control of the earth to Satan\nby virtue of his eating of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and\nbringing a curse upon the earth, but God still held Adam (and his seed)\nresponsible.&nbsp; Sorry about that long sentence, but you get the picture.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>Jesus, now seated at the right hand of God the Father, now\nfunctions as our intercessor.&nbsp; (See Isaiah 53:12, 59:16, Romans 8:34,\nHebrews 7:25)&nbsp; But there's more!<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>In Romans 8:26, the apostle Paul writes,<\/span><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial'>&nbsp;<b><i><span\nstyle='color:maroon'>&quot;Likewise the Spirit also <span class=SpellE>helpeth<\/span>\nour infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the\nSpirit itself <span class=SpellE>maketh<\/span> intercession for us with <span\nclass=SpellE>groanings<\/span> which cannot be uttered.&quot;<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>We can also read this last phrase in the Greek text like\nthis:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span style='font-size:13.5pt;color:#0066CC'>&quot;But\nthe Spirit Himself (the better rendering) makes intercession on our behalf, across\nand through us, for our benefit, with sighs and internal <span class=SpellE>groanings<\/span>\nwhich are unspeakable.&quot;<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>So what does all this have to do with the picture of the\nearth belonging to the Lord, but the earth being in the hands of the children\nof men?&nbsp; Just this: God does not retract what He gives.&nbsp; He doesn't\nchange His mind and take back the earth.&nbsp; Sure He's the Creator, and He\nhas a plan and purpose for the earth. Because He has given the earth into man's\ncharge, He has made it so that for His Will to be enacted in the earth, He must\ncome through us.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>That's not because He isn't Supreme, it's because this is\na legal requirement&nbsp;<b>He has created<\/b>&nbsp;in order to get man\ninvolved in the affairs that take place on earth.&nbsp; He simply will not act\nwithout at least <\/span><st1:stockticker><span style='font-size:13.5pt;\n font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#333300'>ONE<\/span><\/st1:stockticker><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#333300'> man interceding and petitioning Him to act in the affairs of\nmen.&nbsp; Hence, the Word the Lord spoke to me in the early morning hours was,\n&quot;It only takes <\/span><st1:stockticker><span style='font-size:13.5pt;\n font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#333300'>ONE<\/span><\/st1:stockticker><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#333300'>!&quot;<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>When Jesus commanded us to decree,&nbsp;<\/span><b><i><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:maroon'>&quot;Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done in earth as it is in\nHeaven,&quot;&nbsp;<\/span><\/i><\/b><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\nGaramond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#333300'>He was expecting our direct\ninvolvement in the process of ruling over the earth.&nbsp; After all, that's\nwhat God's people were designed for in the first place!&nbsp; As already noted,\nruling over the earth was man's first command -- with blessing.&nbsp; The curse\ntook that away.&nbsp; Jesus restored it to those who would live and operate\nthrough Him.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>I don't mean to sound like a broken record, but these\nprinciples are critical to understand for the intercessor.&nbsp; God spoke to\nEzekiel telling him that He longed for and looked for someone to stand in the\ngap so that He would not have to execute judgment upon the nation.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>The apostle Paul, in I Timothy 2:1-5, writes,&nbsp;<\/span><b><i><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:maroon'>&quot;I exhort therefore, that, first of all,&nbsp;<\/span><\/i><\/b><sup><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:red'>1<\/span><\/sup><b><i><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;\nmso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:maroon'>supplications,<\/span><\/i><\/b><span\nstyle='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial'>&nbsp;<\/span><sup><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:red'>2<\/span><\/sup><b><i><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;\nmso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:maroon'>prayers,<\/span><\/i><\/b><span\nstyle='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial'>&nbsp;<\/span><sup><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:red'>3<\/span><\/sup><b><i><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;\nmso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:maroon'>intercessions, and&nbsp;<\/span><\/i><\/b><sup><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:red'>4<\/span><\/sup><b><i><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;\nmso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:maroon'>giving of thanks, be made for all men;\nFor kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and\npeaceable life in all godliness and honesty.&nbsp; For this is good and\nacceptable in the sight of God our <span class=SpellE>Saviour<\/span>; <span\nclass=GramE>Who<\/span> will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the\nknowledge of the truth.&nbsp; For there is one God, and one mediator between\nGod and men, the man Christ Jesus; <span class=GramE>Who<\/span> gave himself a\nransom for all, to be testified in due time.&quot;<\/span><\/i><\/b><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>Supplications, Prayers,&nbsp; Intercessions, Giving of\nthanks: these are four specific things Paul commands with purpose --&nbsp;<\/span><sup><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:red'>1<\/span><\/sup><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;\nmso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#333300'>that we may lead a quiet and\npeaceable life in all Godliness and honesty, and&nbsp;<\/span><sup><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:red'>2<\/span><\/sup><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;\nmso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#333300'>so that the heart's desire of the\nLord can be fulfilled in seeing all men to be saved and come to the knowledge\nof the Truth.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>Let me do a quick outline and define these four specific\nthings from the Greek text.&nbsp; Then we'll stop for the day and come back to\nthis discussion later in the week.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><b><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:red'>1<\/span><\/b><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;\nmso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#333300'>. Paul's first command is&nbsp;<u>supplications<\/u>.&nbsp;\nThe word in the Greek text is:&nbsp;<\/span><span class=SpellE><i><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:maroon'>de.esis<\/span><\/i><\/span><span style='font-size:13.5pt;\nfont-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#333300'>; and it\nmeans:&nbsp;<u>petitions<\/u>,&nbsp;<u>requests<\/u>.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><b><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:red'>2.<\/span><\/b><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;\nmso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#333300'>&nbsp;The second is&nbsp;<u>prayers<\/u>.\nThis is a distinctive word --&nbsp;<\/span><span class=SpellE><i><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:maroon'>proseuchomai<\/span><\/i><\/span><span style='font-size:13.5pt;\nfont-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#333300'>&nbsp;-- and it\nis a covenant word.&nbsp; It literally means:&nbsp;<u>to worship<\/u>&nbsp;[within\nthe framework of God's Covenant with us, and our participation in that\nCovenant].&nbsp; (We'll talk about this picture more in our next Coffee Break.)<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><b><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:red'>3.<\/span><\/b><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;\nmso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#333300'>&nbsp;The third is&nbsp;<u>intercessions<\/u>.&nbsp;\nThis word frequently -- if not most of the time -- gets treated in our mental\npictures as crying, long prayers, begging God, banging on Heaven's gates, and\ntrying to convince God to do something He really doesn't want to do.&nbsp;\nNothing could be further from the truth!&nbsp; The term in the Greek text\nis:&nbsp;<\/span><span class=SpellE><i><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\nGaramond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:maroon'>enteuxis<\/span><\/i><\/span><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#333300'>; and this is a legal term, frequently used within the old Greek\njustice system.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=SpellE><i><span style='font-size:\n13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:maroon'>Enteuxis<\/span><\/i><\/span><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#333300'>&nbsp;is defined like this:&nbsp;<u>to confer with<\/u>,&nbsp;<u>to\nentreat for<\/u>,&nbsp;<span class=GramE><u>to<\/u><\/span><u> deal with<\/u>.&nbsp;\nIt is the presenting of a legal document with arguments based in Covenant Law\nin order to have enforcement of the Covenant.&nbsp; (We'll get into this a lot\nmore, later.)<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><b><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:red'>4.<\/span><\/b><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;\nmso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#333300'>&nbsp;The last thing Paul commands is\nthe&nbsp;<u>giving of thanks<\/u>.&nbsp; Once again we have a word used within\nthe framework of Covenant.&nbsp; That word is:&nbsp;<\/span><span class=SpellE><i><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:maroon'>eucharistia<\/span><\/i><\/span><span style='font-size:13.5pt;\nfont-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#333300'>.&nbsp;\n(Traditional churches derive the &quot;Eucharist&quot; -- or partaking of the\nsymbols of Communion -- from this word.)&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=SpellE><i><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:maroon'>Eucharistia<\/span><\/i><\/span><span style='font-size:13.5pt;\nfont-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#333300'>&nbsp;expresses\nconcept of gratefulness or gratitude towards God, but it does so within the\ncontext of our Covenant of the Blessing of Abraham which God made, and Jesus\nenacted for all who receive Him and walk in His Covenant.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>The entire picture of these four words Paul uses comes within\nthe enactment of the Covenant of Blood which Jesus made and restored access to\nthrough His suffering, the merciless beatings and stripes He bore for our\nhealing and wholeness, His death on the Cross, and -- most of all -- His\nresurrection from the dead.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#333300'>In our next Coffee Break, we'll review the picture of\nCovenant, how it was originally enacted with Abraham, and why intercession is\nso integral to our Covenant with God through the Lord Jesus Christ.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span class=GramE><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;\nmso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#333300'>Still more to come.<\/span><\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><i><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:navy'>The purpose of Covenant is to place God's mark in your\nforehead, that is, to mark your mind.&nbsp;
