When I ran\nfor Congress, my Republican primary opponent was pro-abortion, and yet a\nprofessing born-again, committed Christian.&nbsp; Because the two positions --\npro-abortion and pro-life -- are at such diametric odds with each other, I came\nto the conclusion that either my opponent was ignorant of the Word of God on\nthe subject of abortion, or her &quot;professed Christianity&quot; was nothing\nmore than a political ploy to gain the support of conservative Christians in\nour congressional district.<\/span><\/b><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><b><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#192763'>My longtime friend and political colleague, Tony Smith,\nsent my opponent an email outlining some critical Scriptures on the topic of\nwhen life actually begins.&nbsp; About that same time, following one of our\ndebate forums, I had the opportunity to talk to my opponent, Becky Klein, about\nthe subject and to help her to understand how God views this issue.<\/span><\/b><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><b><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#192763'>I'm pleased to say that between Tony's email and my\nin-person discussion on the topic, Becky woke up to the fact that she had been\nholding an opinion she simply couldn't hang onto and still call herself a\nChristian.&nbsp; After she beat me in the primary, she went on to espouse a\npro-life position during the general campaign, and her conversion to that\nunderstanding was genuine -- not political.<\/span><\/b><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>For the next few minutes, I'd like to take you through\nsome very crystal clear pictures in the Word of God which define when life\nactually begins, and why the liberal left position of &quot;choice&quot; is\nnothing more and nothing less than the politics of cold-blooded murder.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><b><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#192763'>Before we start, however, let's grab the French Press and\npour some of today's blend -- a mix of <\/span><\/b><st1:place><st1:PlaceName><b><span\n  style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n  color:#192763'>San Francisco<\/span><\/b><\/st1:PlaceName><b><span\n style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n color:#192763'> <\/span><\/b><st1:PlaceType><b><span style='font-size:13.5pt;\n  font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#192763'>Bay<\/span><\/b><\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place><b><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#192763'> French Roast, and <\/span><\/b><st1:place><st1:PlaceName><b><span\n  style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n  color:#192763'>Cascade<\/span><\/b><\/st1:PlaceName><b><span style='font-size:\n 13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#192763'> <\/span><\/b><st1:PlaceType><b><span\n  style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n  color:#192763'>Mountain<\/span><\/b><\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place><b><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#192763'>'s Double-Roasted French.&nbsp; If you look around, you might\neven find a &quot;vitamin&quot; or two in that Safeway box.<\/span><\/b><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#005500'>God gave to David a revelation of the origins of life -- a\nrevelation which he outlined in Psalm 139:13-16.&nbsp; Although the traditional\nEnglish versions -- and the KJV -- do a fair job of translating these verses\nfrom the Hebrew, the original Hebrew text provides an expanded picture that\neven the Amplified Version misses.&nbsp; Both Hebrew and Greek languages -- and\nthey are distinctive from all other languages in this respect -- are picture\nlanguages which include remarkable color and depth of understanding.&nbsp; I\ntook the time to translate these verses myself and include some descriptive\npictures that the Hebrew language incorporates.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><b><i><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:maroon'>&quot;For you have created, taught and instructed my mind,\nmy brain and vital organs; you have entwined and protected me in my mother\u2019s\nwomb.&nbsp;&nbsp;I will extend my hands to you in adoration and worship: For I\nam reverently fashioned [in such a manner as to distinguish me from all other\nbeings]: great and miraculous are your actions, your labors and results\nthereof; and that my very breath and soul recognizes and understands.<\/span><\/i><\/b><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><b><i><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:maroon'>The very substance which binds my spirit, soul and body\ntogether was not hidden from you when I was made and fitted together\n[spiritually, mentally and physically] without anyone else knowing or seeing,\nbeing colorfully fabricated in and from the very materials that make up the\ninner part of the earth.<\/span><\/i><\/b><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><b><i><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:maroon'>Your eyes saw and discerned my embryo; Again I'm using my own translation and amplification\nfrom the Hebrew text to draw out the full meaning.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><b><i><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:maroon'>&quot;Before\nI determined, formed and molded you in the womb, I knew, designated and\ninstructed you; and before you were brought forth out of the formative matrix,\nI consecrated and set you apart, pronouncing you holy; and I anointed, equipped\nand commissioned you, giving you to the masses of people, and in particular the\nforeign nations, as my gift: one who would deliver and declare My Word through\nprophetic song and discourse.&quot;<\/span><\/i><\/b><span style='font-size:13.5pt;\nfont-family:Garamond;color:#192763'>&nbsp; (<\/span><st1:stockticker><span\n style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#192763'>RAC<\/span><\/st1:stockticker><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#192763'> Amplified)<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>It takes\nno rocket scientist to figure out what God is saying through these Words.&nbsp;\nHe breathed Himself into the very pre-existence of our beginnings.&nbsp; David\nmakes clear in Psalm 139 that God purposely and with forethought fashioned and\nformed us -- EVEN BEFORE FERTILIZATION <\/span><st1:stockticker><span\n style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>AND<\/span><\/st1:stockticker><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'> CONCEPTION IN THE\nWOMB!<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>Jeremiah\nlikewise hears the Lord say to him that God knew him before he was formed in\nthe womb -- that his birth was not simply the result of a union between his\nfather and mother.&nbsp; His birth was preordained while Jeremiah was scarcely\na thought in the minds of his parents.&nbsp; He was given life and purpose --\nEVEN BEFORE FERTILIZATION <\/span><st1:stockticker><span style='font-size:13.5pt;\n font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>AND<\/span><\/st1:stockticker><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'> CONCEPTION IN THE\nWOMB!<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>Are you\nseeing this picture?&nbsp; Life begins even before fertilization in the\nwomb.&nbsp; To suggest that life does not begin until a child comes out of the\nwomb is nothing more than creating a means of justifying the killing of that\nchild.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>In 2004,\nDella and I were both delegates to the Republican Party (<\/span><st1:stockticker><span\n style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>RPT<\/span><\/st1:stockticker><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>) Convention in <\/span><st1:place><st1:City><span\n  style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>San Antonio<\/span><\/st1:City><span\n style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>, <\/span><st1:State><span\n  style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>Texas<\/span><\/st1:State><\/st1:place><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>.&nbsp; During a\ncounty convention, when it became clear that we were both headed to the state\nconvention, Della was part of a discussion among local county delegates\nconcerning the state party's platform on the subject of when life begins.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>The state\n(and national) party platforms had both previously designated the beginning of\nlife &quot;at conception.&quot;&nbsp; Because of the tricky wording that\nembryonic stem cell cloning advocates used in defining the beginning of life\n&quot;at conception,&quot; a decision was made to introduce a change of wording\nto the state platform which designated the beginning of life &quot;at\nfertilization&quot; instead.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>Della took\nthat change to the state convention where it was voted on and ratified in the\nstate party's platform, and subsequently added to the <span class=SpellE>RNC's<\/span>\nnational platform which President Bush adopted and ran on.&nbsp; It may seem\nthat the wording is almost academic, but the legal implications are strong.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>Fertilization,\nspeaking forensically, is the actual union of male sperm and female\ncells.&nbsp; Conception, on the other hand, is the emergence of a fetus after\nfertilization.&nbsp; The wording change in the political platform was intended\nto enshrine in policy (and eventually in law) the fact that the beginning of\nlife is a divine act -- not simply the (unintended) biological byproduct of\nsexual intercourse.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>It is a\ndivine act which occurs before intercourse!&nbsp; The creation of new life is\nGod's means of perpetuating mankind so that there will come into being a\ncorporate body of people who will choose Him -- and the fellowship He desires\nwith His people.&nbsp; There is no other purpose for the human race.&nbsp; Our\nexistence on planet Earth is not random or accidental.&nbsp; We were chosen by\nand for Him before the world began.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>To suggest\n(as the far left has done) that women somehow have the &quot;right to\nchoose&quot; to abort their unborn child is the same as saying that God's plan\nand purposes for that unborn child are irrelevant.&nbsp; It is a usurpation of\nGod's authority and the elevation of man's choices as being superior to\nGod.&nbsp; In simple terms, this is Secular Humanism.&nbsp; No, on second\nthought, there's nothing &quot;secular&quot; about it.&nbsp; This is the\nelevation of man above God.&nbsp; This is the religion of\n&quot;man-worship.&quot;<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>As my\nDemocratic friend and former Alaska Lt. Governor, Red Boucher, used to say,\n&quot;Abortion -- in any instance -- is the taking of a human life.&nbsp; That\nmakes it murder.&quot;&nbsp; It is in fact premeditated, cold-blooded\nmurder.&nbsp; It elevates the &quot;convenience&quot; of not carrying the\nunborn child to term over the value of the life of that child.&nbsp; It\nsacrifices the sanctity of life on the altar of &quot;choice,&quot; as though\nsomehow that &quot;choice&quot; is more valuable than life itself.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>The fact\nthat the far left has enshrined this as somehow being &quot;a right&quot; under\nour U.S. Constitution when there is absolutely nothing in the Constitution --\nthe Roe v. Wade ruling notwithstanding -- to justify such a concept has turned\nthis into a religious political issue.&nbsp; Folks, this is the politics of\nmurder.&nbsp; There's just no other way to say it!<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>Am I\nstirring things up in you?&nbsp; Good!&nbsp; Let me stir the pot even more.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>Life\nbegins before fertilization in the womb.&nbsp; Life begins before\nconception.&nbsp; Life begins in God!&nbsp; Life begins -- sorry, to have to\nput it this way, folks! -- <span class=GramE>even<\/span> before a woman is\nraped or forced into an incestuous relationship.&nbsp; The child conceived in\nthe womb as a result of those activities didn't choose to come into the world\nthat way, but that doesn't negate God's plan and purposes for that child.&nbsp;\nRape or incest <span class=GramE>do<\/span> not somehow negate the gift that God\nplans to give the world in the child who is being formed in the womb.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span class=GramE><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;\ncolor:#005500'>One quick example.<\/span><\/span><span style='font-size:13.5pt;\nfont-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>&nbsp; The story has often been told of a\nwoman many years ago who was violently raped and became pregnant as a\nresult.&nbsp; She was in poor health anyway, and her family doctor strongly\nadvised her to abort the child.&nbsp; As the pregnancy progressed, it became\nclear that the unborn child would likely be born with defects.&nbsp; Both the\nwoman's husband and her doctor pressured her to have an abortion.&nbsp; She steadfastly\nrefused saying that just because the unborn child was the result of a rape did\nnot mean it was the child's fault.&nbsp; She believed God could use the child\nas it grew and become a blessing to others.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>For the\nremainder of the pregnancy she continued to declare that the child would be a\nblessing.&nbsp; Little could she <span class=GramE>know.<\/span>&nbsp; When the\nchild was born on <\/span><st1:date Year=\"1770\" Day=\"16\" Month=\"12\"><st1:date\n ls=\"trans\" Month=\"12\" Day=\"16\" Year=\"17\"><span style='font-size:13.5pt;\n  font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>December 16, 17<\/span><\/st1:date><span\n style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>70<\/span><\/st1:date><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>, Maria Magdalena <span\nclass=SpellE>Keverich<\/span> gave the world a musical prodigy in the form of\nLudwig Van Beethoven.&nbsp; Beethoven's music has inspired the world for more\nthan two centuries -- a gift from God filled with revelation the likes of which\nonly a very few others like him have also shared.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>Think of\nthe loss to the world had Maria <span class=SpellE>Keverich<\/span> Beethoven\nyielded to the pressure to abort.&nbsp; Now, consider the enormity of the\nlosses the world has suffered as a result of the felonious Roe v. Wade decision\nwith 50 Million children in <\/span><st1:country-region><st1:place><span\n  style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>America<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'> being brutally and\npremeditatedly murdered before God ever had the opportunity to show the world\nwhat He had in store through them.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>That, my\nfriends, is the politics of murder.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>When you\nvote, therefore, in the coming election KNOW where the candidates stand on the\nissue of life.&nbsp; Whether you realize it or not or whether you've ever\nthought about it in this context, when you support a candidate for office who\nbelieves that abortion is OK, or that candidate supports the so-called\n&quot;pro-choice&quot; stance, you become complicit in murder and an accessory\nto the continuing murders of the unborn.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>That may\ncome across and very blunt, but there's no other way to say it.&nbsp; Every\npolitician who continues to advocate the pro-abortion position is an advocate\nfor murder; and they are accessories to murder.&nbsp; Your support of them and\nplacing them in elected office makes you also an accessory to murder.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#005500'>Think\nabout it, folks!&nbsp; Choose wisely.&nbsp; God holds each of us accountable\nfor our vote.&nbsp; It is a responsibility He has given us, and if we choose to\nplace people in office who oppose His Word and His plan, we become recipients\nof the judgment that follows that choice.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><i><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;color:#192763'>&quot;The\n<span class=GramE>God<\/span> who gave us life, gave us liberty at the same\ntime;
