ANOTHER COFFEE BREAK: THE PSALM 23 ADVENTURE, Part 33<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

My apologies if it seems like I\u2019ve gone overboard on this,\nbut when Della and I get to see the phenomenal things happening with our\ngrandchildren, it\u2019s hard to not share with everyone \u2013 especially when we are in\na season of miracles unfolding across this nation and around the world on a\nscale hitherto unknown.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

Sunday, a week ago, Della took our grandchildren to\nchildren\u2019s church as she usually does on Sundays.\u00a0 <\/span>Even though we have our own fellowship, we are\ncurrently set up for children\u2019s ministry specifically.\u00a0 <\/span>During the time of praise and worship, a\nyoung girl \u2013 perhaps Jasmine\u2019s age around 8 years old \u2013 got up and began to\ndance before the Lord.\u00a0 <\/span>That dancing had\nan impact on all of them.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

Late in the afternoon, when we were all just relaxing,\nJasmine came up to Della and said, \u201cGrandma, is it OK for me to dance to the\nLord?\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cWhy of course you can,\u201d Della\nanswered.\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cThen can I dance to the kind\nof worship music we listen to at home every day?\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cSure, Grandpa will put the music on for\nyou.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

We have come to really appreciate the spontaneous worship\nof Alberto and Kimberly Rivera, and that was the kind of music I put on.\u00a0 <\/span>Jasmine stood in front of the TV where the\nmusic was playing, closed her eyes and clasped her hands across her chest.\u00a0 <\/span>She stood there silently for perhaps five or\nsix minutes.\u00a0 <\/span>Finally, Della said to her,\n\u201cHoney, what are you seeing?\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>Jasmine\u2019s\nanswer was, \u201cI\u2019m watching angels dance before the Lord.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>Della then said, \u201cThen, you do whatever you\nsee the angels doing.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

Jasmine closed her eyes again and began to dance around the\nliving room.\u00a0 <\/span>The dancing was absolutely\ngorgeous!\u00a0 <\/span>Della and I just began to bawl\nour eyes out as we watched our granddaughter move like this, anointed by Holy\nSpirit.\u00a0 <\/span>Her younger sister, Trinity, had\ntears streaming down her cheeks and finally looked up to Della and said,\n\u201cGrandma, is it OK if I dance to the Lord, too?\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>Della nodded her head and Trinity closed her\neyes and began to dance as well.\u00a0 <\/span>You\u2019ll\nappreciate that we currently have a very small living room, and for Jasmine and\nTrinity to both be dancing with eyes closed and not bumping into one another\nwas nothing short of amazing!<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

Trinity danced for perhaps the last seven minutes of\nJasmine\u2019s dancing which lasted for not less than 20 minutes.\u00a0 <\/span>When they both finally opened their eyes and\nsat down, Alden was next.\u00a0 <\/span>He said to me,\n\u201cGrandpa, I want to dance to the Lord, too, but I need a different kind of worship\nmusic.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>I put on worship that was more\nprophetic and militant, and for the next ten minutes we watched Alden \u2013 with\nhis eyes closed as well \u2013 dancing forcefully and prophetically.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

When the Lord promised us from Isaiah 59:20 that: <\/span><\/b>My\nspirit that is<\/i> upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth,\nshall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of\nthe mouth of thy seed\u2019s seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and forever,<\/span> <\/span>we really felt like we were seeing some of the evidences of that\npromise.\u00a0 <\/span>Della and I are still\noverwhelmed!<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let\u2019s\nget back to our discussion on the Valley of the Shadow of Death, and review\nsome of what we shared last week.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

A\ntransition is underway.\u00a0 <\/span>Yes, we still\nexist in mortal bodies, but that mortality is being erased as we come into an\nunderstanding of what it means to have the curse eradicated \u2014 both the curse of\ndeath, and the curse of the Law. \u00ad The transition takes place in our spirits to\nbegin with, but then becomes a part of our minds, our thoughts, our reasoning,\nour emotions \u2014 and then becomes the very substance of our beings.\u00a0 <\/span>Hence, we are \u201ca new species.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>We are becoming, we have become, and we will\nbecome, something that cannot come out of the DNA of unredeemed man.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Again,\nwe said last week that we are now (and we are transitioning into being)\n\u201cnaturally supernatural\u201d and \u201csupernaturally natural.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>.\u00a0 <\/span>Our\nbehavior has undergone and is undergoing radical change.\u00a0 <\/span>Our lives are no longer subject to the curse\nof the Law.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Romans\n8:2: <\/span>For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me\nfree from the law of sin and death.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

And\nthen Paul amplifies this so that we can understand why we are not subject to the\nlaw of sin and death \u2014 and this brings us back to what we are experiencing as\nwe are being led in the Paths of Righteousness into the Valley of the Shadow of\nDeath:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Thus, when one purposes in his thoughts and focus to do only those\nthings that gratify and please the lusts and desires of the flesh, they set\nthemselves in opposition to God; and, indeed, that way of thinking and\nreasoning is insubordinate and disobedient to the laws and principles of\nGod.\u00a0 <\/span>It is impossible for that kind of\nmindset to be anything but insubordinate and disobedient.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Hence, those whose mindsets, thinking and purposed intents are\nfocused on pleasing and gratifying fleshly lusts cannot at any time, and will\nnot under any circumstances please and satisfy the Lord God. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>(Romans 8:7-8, RAC Translation &\nAmplification)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We\nskip down a few verses to see the kicker in what Paul is writing to the Romans:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

So then, if the Holy Spirit \u2014 the Spirit of Father God \u2014 that\nawakened and raised up Jesus from the dead has taken up permanent residence in\nyou, occupies, cohabits (and exercises ruling authority), He that awakened,\nraised up and re-infused the Anointed One (with His anointing) from physical\ndeath shall revitalize, restore and endue your physical and spiritual being by\nthat same indwelling and residing and authoritative Holy Spirit.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>(Romans 8:11, RAC Translation &\nAmplification)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This\nis what our walk in the Paths of Righteousness has been all about.\u00a0 <\/span>Through the lessons, the instruction, the\nexperiences and the spiritual adventures we have as we have followed Jesus\nChrist, the authority and power, the very personality of the Lord have been\nbeing developed in us.\u00a0 <\/span>That same\nauthority and power \u2014 and personality \u2014 have been overtaking us, transforming\nus into His image and likeness.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\nwill continue to say this again and again and again!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We\nwere never designed to die in the first place.\u00a0\n<\/span>Adam chose to eat of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge and Good and\nEvil, despite the warning that death would result as a consequence.\u00a0 <\/span>It was an emotional decision he made with the\nright motives but still wrong.\u00a0 <\/span>Adam had\nfailed to really understand the consequences that would follow to the\nsubsequent generations.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Jesus,\nhowever, paid the penalty and took death upon Himself so that we could \u2014 once and\nfor all \u2014 be set free of that curse and delivered from death.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Matthew\nputs it like this:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Matthew 4:16-17<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0\n<\/span><\/span>The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them\nwhich sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up<\/u>. From that\ntime Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at\nhand.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Do\nyou see it?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\ntransition from death to life begins with <\/span>metanoeo<\/span><\/i><\/b>.\u00a0 <\/span>This is the Greek word, translated\n\u201crepent.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>It has some very interesting\nconnotations.\u00a0 <\/span>It literally means: <\/span>to\nreconsider your mode and pattern of thinking<\/span><\/b>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nessence of this is: <\/span>to cease eating of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil;\nto stop the old kind of reasoning and to begin eating of the Tree of Life where\none\u2019s life is restored and the death spiral ends<\/span><\/b>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Jesus\nmade several statements like this:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u201cAnd whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die<\/u>.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Jesus\nis literally saying that even death \u2014 whether by natural or unnatural means \u2014\nis reversible.\u00a0 <\/span>More than that, He is\nsaying that we\u2019ve been given power over death.\u00a0\n<\/span>We\u2019ve been given the same authority of Father God, who raised up Jesus\nfrom the grave.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That\nis the power of the Resurrection, and yet it is more than that!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Paul\nexpressed himself in numerous ways regarding the authority we have over death\nbut in his letter to the Philippians, we see this very intense prayer coming\nout of the core of his being.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Philippians 3:10-11<\/span><\/u><\/b>: \u00a0<\/span><\/span>That I may know him,\nand the power of his resurrection<\/span><\/u>, and the fellowship\nof his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means, I\nmight attain unto the resurrection of the dead.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Despite\nall that Paul had experienced in his walk with the Lord, despite the\nrevelations he\u2019d received, and despite the fact that \u2014 by this time \u2014 he had\nraised numerous individuals from the dead, he still wanted and desired that\ndepth of revelation which would allow Him to know the very nature of the Lord Jesus\nChrist.\u00a0 <\/span>He desired to know by\nrevelation<\/i><\/b> \u2014 so that it was infused and implanted in his being and\nengraved into his spirit \u2014 just exactly what it was that Father God had in His\nmakeup, His character and personality that enabled Him to have that kind of\nauthority over death.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When\nPaul prays, <\/span>\u201c \u2026.. being made conformable unto His death,\u201d <\/span>he is asking to be\nso changed in his being that he would be <\/span>summorphos <\/span><\/i><\/b>\u2014 \u201cjointly formed\u201d\n\u2014 into that same nature of Jesus so that facing death would not be the least bit\nintimidating or threatening.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That<\/span><\/i><\/b>, folks, is an authority that brings real\nboldness!\u00a0 <\/span>Thus, the dynamic power of\nJesus\u2019 resurrection is synonymous with <\/span>\u201cthe fellowship of\nHis sufferings, being jointly formed with Him\u201d<\/span> in such a way that death was no threat.\u00a0 <\/span>The curse that came upon the human race by\nvirtue of eating of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil incorporated\npermanent physical death \u2014 not to mention separation from a relationship with\nthe Lord God.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let\u2019s\nbreak down this statement a bit more so that we can understand just what Paul\nwas trying to say.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nrevelation of the power of the resurrection, the fellowship of Jesus\u2019\nsufferings, and being made conformable to His death is all one, single\nrevelation.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\u2019m\nrepeating myself.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

It\nis not possible to have a revelation of the power of the Resurrection without\nfirst understanding \u201c<\/span>the fellowship of His sufferings<\/span>\u201d and \u201c<\/span>being\nmade conformable unto His death<\/span>.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This\nword, \u201cfellowship\u201d comes from a translation of the Greek word, <\/span>koinonia<\/span><\/i><\/b>.\u00a0 <\/span>This is one of those 64 dollar words that\nmeans: <\/span>to partner with, to have intimate knowledge of, to jointly\nparticipate<\/span><\/b>.<\/span><\/a><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

And\nwhat, exactly, is it that we are \u201cpartnering with?\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Here\nagain, we have a word in the Greek which is the root of our English word,\n\u201cpassion.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>That word is: pathema<\/span><\/i><\/b>.\u00a0\n<\/span>While the translation in the KJV (and other translations as well) is the\nword, \u201csufferings,\u201d it goes a whole lot farther than pain \u2014 whether physical or\nemotional.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Paul\nis describing the intense passion of Jesus\u2019 love, mercy, and desire to free us\nfrom the curse of sin, the curse of the Law, and the curse of death.\u00a0 <\/span>That passion for us is what enabled Jesus to\nwillingly endure the torture, the cursing, the beatings, the crown of thorns,\nand his ultimate death by crucifixion.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Jesus\nwas able to ignore the pain of rejection from His own people, as well as the\nworld.\u00a0 <\/span>He was able to set aside the\nbetrayal He experienced.\u00a0 <\/span>He was able to\nendure the physical extremes His body was subjected to with the torture and\ncrucifixion because He could see in His spirit the end result on behalf of the\nworld.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Paul obviously had that revelation\nwhen he wrote the following in his second letter to the Ekklesia in Corinth\n(and so that you understand the context, this was a letter he wrote many years\nafter the first one was written:<\/o:p><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

II Corinthians\n11:23:30<\/span><\/u><\/b><\/span>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Are\nthey ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am<\/i> more; in labours more\nabundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft. <\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup><\/span>Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes<\/i> save one.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Thrice\nwas I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night\nand a day I have been in the deep; <\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup><\/span>In<\/span><\/i><\/span> journeyings often, in<\/i>\nperils of waters, in<\/i> perils of robbers, in<\/i> perils by mine own<\/i>\ncountrymen, in<\/i> perils by the heathen, in<\/i> perils in the city, in<\/i>\nperils in the wilderness, in<\/i> perils in the sea, in<\/i> perils among\nfalse brethren; <\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup><\/span>In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and\nthirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Beside\nthose things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all\nthe churches. <\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup><\/span>Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not?\n<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup><\/span>If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern\nmine infirmities.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n<\/span>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Looks\nlike I need to pause here before I get into the next part of this discussion,\nso let\u2019s quit for today and pick this up next week.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n
