I just\nkeep sending out more of these Coffee <span class=SpellE>Breaks.<\/span>&nbsp;\nI'm past the point of needing someone to monitor my email inboxes <span\nclass=SpellE>constantly.<\/span>&nbsp; Even with condensing and categorizing\nemails as they come in, I still have to scan more than 15,000 every <span\nclass=SpellE>day.<\/span>&nbsp; It's getting to be a bit time-consuming.<\/span><\/b><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>I've said all that to say that if you have sent me a\npersonal email or response and it doesn't look like I'm answering you or paying\nany attention, bear with <span class=SpellE>me.<\/span><span class=GramE>&nbsp;\nIf<\/span> you've sent me something that requires my response back, I will get\nback to <span class=SpellE>you.<\/span>&nbsp; It may take a few days, however,\nbefore I can get actually get the time to <span class=SpellE>respond.<\/span>&nbsp;\nIf you need an urgent response, say so, and I'll get back to just as soon as I\nsee the email.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>We had a meeting of pastors here at River Worship Center <span\nclass=SpellE>yesterday.<\/span><span class=GramE>&nbsp; Every<\/span> month the\nlocal pastors of all (or most) of the churches in Sunnyside gather together as\npart of the Sunnyside Ministerial Association to share with each other, to get\na pulse of what is happening in the community, to pray over issues, and to take\naction on community needs where it is both practical and possible for us to do\nso.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>Naturally, we have coffee together and other refreshments\n-- and I said all that to say that I've got some &quot;vitamins&quot; left over\nfrom our <span class=SpellE>meeting.<\/span><span class=GramE>&nbsp; I've<\/span>\nalso brewed up some nice, oily dark-roasted Columbian <span class=SpellE>Supremo<\/span>\nand filled a thermos carafe with <span class=SpellE>it.<\/span>&nbsp; Drop by\nif you have a chance and I'll pour you a <span class=SpellE>cup.<\/span>&nbsp;\nMine's already poured and I'm <span class=SpellE>rarin<\/span>' to go for the <span\nclass=SpellE>day.<\/span>&nbsp; Ready?<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>By the way, I reckon you've already noticed, but\nWednesday's post didn't make it out on <span class=SpellE>Wednesday.<\/span>&nbsp;\nThere were too many things happening that <span class=SpellE>day.<\/span>&nbsp;\nI had it written, but had to wait until Thursday to get it out, and then didn't\nget this out on Friday as <span class=SpellE>planned.<\/span>&nbsp; So here it\nis Monday again.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>OK. We were talking about Dad and his Ham radio, and the\ndoor of opportunity the Lord opened to him in ministry to the community because\nhe had the ability to communicate with the outside <span class=SpellE>world.<\/span>&nbsp;\nFor a long time, communications with the outside world was strictly limited to\npostal <span class=SpellE>mail.<\/span>&nbsp; Telephones were a non-existent\nthing on Saint Paul Island, except for intra-island governmental <span\nclass=SpellE>communications.<\/span>&nbsp; HF radio communications and teletype\nhad been established on the island by the U.S. Army during the Second World\nWar, so it was possible to get a message off the island in emergency\nsituations.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>The problem was that this was not a practical or easily\naccessible means for most folks on the <span class=SpellE>island.<\/span>&nbsp;\nWith <span class=SpellE>Ludy<\/span> and <span class=SpellE>Prokoff's<\/span>\nsituation being handled as expeditiously as it had, Dad's Ham radio suddenly\nbecame the &quot;in <span class=SpellE>thing.&quot;<\/span>&nbsp; People who\nhad been banned by the Orthodox priest from coming to worship services at the\nAssembly of God church could legitimately come to the <span class=SpellE>Capener<\/span>\nhome in order to make contact with family members who lived on the mainland, or\nif they needed to order something from Sears or Safeway or whoever.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>That, in turn, provided both Dad and Mom with the\nopportunity to invite the folks who came over to stay for coffee and a piece of\nMom's apple pie, or some Constant Comment tea and cake around the dining table\nwhile the folks shared the Gospel with them.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>You've all seen it before, I'm <span class=SpellE>sure.<\/span><span\nclass=GramE>&nbsp; Whenever<\/span> the Enemy seeks to prevent people from\nseeing or hearing the truth and puts roadblocks in their way, the Lord had a\nunique way of opening other avenues.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>Think back to the 1960's for a <span class=SpellE>minute.<\/span>&nbsp;\nRemember the fight that raged in the courts over prayer in school, and the\nridiculous effort <span class=SpellE>Madalyn<\/span> Murray <span class=SpellE>O'Hair<\/span>\nwent to in order to argue that prayer in school was a violation of her parental\nrights as an <span class=SpellE>atheist?<\/span>&nbsp; So what <span\nclass=SpellE>happened?<\/span>&nbsp; Eventually, a heavily weighted liberal\nSupreme Court overturned centuries of accepted practice and constitutionally\nguaranteed liberties and banned prayer in public <span class=SpellE>school.<\/span>&nbsp;\nIn 1968 when the Apollo astronauts made their first trip to the Moon, while\nmore than two billion people around the globe watched and listened, Neil\nArmstrong read from the Scriptures, and prayed a simple prayer -- the same kind\nof prayer that the courts said school children couldn't participate in.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>God always gets the last <span class=SpellE>word!<\/span>&nbsp;\nThe more Satan seeks to prevent people from hearing the truth, the more new\navenues of opportunity God provides to and for hungry <span class=SpellE>people.<\/span>&nbsp;\nSatan thought he could stop several thousand children from hearing someone\npray, so God opened a way for billions to <span class=SpellE>hear.<\/span>&nbsp;\nIt matters not what Satan does, everything he does to block the Gospel,\neverything he does to block prayer, everything he does to prevent God's people\nfrom worshiping the Lord Jesus Christ will only backfire on him and result in\nall the more people hearing and receiving the truth.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>And what happens to those people who allow themselves to\nbecome the tool of Satan, and agree with his <span class=SpellE>lies<span\nclass=GramE>?<\/span><\/span>&nbsp; In <span class=SpellE>Madalyn<\/span> Murray <span\nclass=SpellE>O'Hair's<\/span> case, she vanished without a trace for years, and\neventually the police found what they believed were her bones in a shallow\ngrave in the Texas desert, having been <span class=SpellE>murdered.<\/span>&nbsp;\nThe son she was so anxious to &quot;protect&quot; from the Gospel grew up, came\nto know Jesus Christ personally, and is now a minister of that same Gospel.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>Back to Saint Paul <span class=SpellE>Island.<\/span>&nbsp;\nRemember how I told you in Wednesday's post how the lay reader in the Russian\nOrthodox Church was a falling down <span class=SpellE>drunk?<\/span>&nbsp;\nThere were times when he would show up for church services so inebriated he had\nto hang on the lectern while he read the Scriptures to keep from falling down.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>The day came when he showed up at the <span class=SpellE>Capener<\/span>\nhome (he wouldn't dare come to any of the church services, of course) because\nhe needed emergency medical assistance, and Dad could contact the hospital in\nAnchorage by Ham <span class=SpellE>radio.<\/span><span class=GramE>&nbsp; On<\/span>\nthis particular day, radio communications were spotty and it took several\nefforts to finally get <span class=SpellE>through.<\/span>&nbsp; Meanwhile the\nreader (we'll call him &quot;John&quot; for the sake of this story) sat next to\nDad's desk and listened to the sharing of the Gospel.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>He later acknowledged that it was the first time in his\nlife he'd actually heard the plan of salvation and understood that Jesus Christ\ndied for his sins; that he could have a personal relationship with the Lord\ninstead of a religious one filled with dead form and <span class=SpellE>ritual.<\/span><span\nclass=GramE>&nbsp; &quot;<\/span>John&quot; did not receive his complete\ndeliverance from alcohol that day, but he was set on a path that eventually led\nto his total deliverance from the snares of addiction and drunkenness.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>The Orthodox priest was furious when he heard that his lay\nreader had gotten &quot;<span class=SpellE>saved.&quot;<\/span>&nbsp; As far as\nhe was concerned, it was a personal slap in the <span class=SpellE>face.<\/span>&nbsp;\nIt mattered not that John continued to attend services at the Orthodox <span\nclass=SpellE>Church.<\/span>&nbsp; It mattered not that he continued in his\nrole as lay <span class=SpellE>reader.<\/span>&nbsp; It was the change in his\nlife, his countenance, his home and everything about him that bothered the\npriest.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>You recall how the Pharisees and Sadducees were angry over\nJesus healing folks on the <span class=SpellE>Sabbath?<\/span>&nbsp; (See, for\nexample, Matthew 12:9-14; Mark 2:24-28; Luke 13:10-17)&nbsp; Remember how\nupset they were when Jesus forgave a man's sins before healing <span\nclass=SpellE>him?<\/span>&nbsp; (Matthew 9:2-8; Mark 2:1-12; Luke\n5:17-26)&nbsp; They were angry because results were taking place through\nJesus' ministry -- results they had not been able to achieve through their\nreligion and <span class=SpellE>traditions.<\/span>&nbsp; Jesus' teaching and\npreaching didn't fit their understanding of what should be able to happen, and\nit made them afraid -- fearful that they were following a dead religion -- and\nthey couldn't have <span class=SpellE>that!<\/span>&nbsp; <span class=SpellE>No.<\/span>&nbsp;\nHuh <span class=SpellE>Uh!<\/span>&nbsp; No way!<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>In John 5:16-17, we see how the religious leaders decided\nthey couldn't have Jesus doing all these things in their midst and\ndemonstrating how dead their religion and traditions really were, so they\ndecided they would kill <span class=SpellE>him.<\/span><span class=GramE>&nbsp;\nWhether<\/span> there was an overt effort on the part of the Russian Orthodox\npriest to kill Dad and Mom is questionable, but he certainly did his part to\ndrive them off the island.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>In his anger over seeing the transformation of people in\nthe community -- people who had been lifelong members of his church -- the\npriest decided if he couldn't keep folks from going over to use Dad's Ham radio\nfor communication with the outside world, he'd try something <span\nclass=SpellE>new.<\/span><span class=GramE>&nbsp; He<\/span> decided to gather\ntogether some of the young boys -- teenagers, actually -- in much the same way\nthe shaman had attempted at Point Hope, and use them for his ends.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>A rock-throwing effort <span class=SpellE>began.<\/span><span\nclass=GramE>&nbsp; In<\/span> the middle of the night, Dad and Mom were awakened\nto hear the rat-a-tat-tat of rocks pelting the roof of the <span class=SpellE>house.<\/span>&nbsp;\nDad got up and went to the door just in time to see a rock thrown towards <span\nclass=SpellE>him.<\/span>&nbsp; He ducked in time and the rock bounced\nharmlessly off the side of the <span class=SpellE>house.<\/span>&nbsp; When he\nhollered at the boys who were throwing the rocks, they dropped the rocks in\ntheir hands and <span class=SpellE>scattered.<\/span>&nbsp; Not before he\nrecognized a couple of them, however.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>The next morning, he went to the parents of the boys he\nrecognized to report the incident and advise them to keep a handle on their <span\nclass=SpellE>sons.<\/span>&nbsp; A couple of days went <span class=SpellE>by.<\/span>&nbsp;\nDad and Mom were sitting at the dinner table when another barrage of rocks\ncame, this time breaking windows in the kitchen and one of the bedrooms.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>This time, Dad sprinted to the door and chased one of the\nboys down, grabbing him by the collar of his <span class=SpellE>coat.<\/span><span\nclass=GramE>&nbsp; The<\/span> boy was one Dad had seen the first <span\nclass=SpellE>time.<\/span>&nbsp; He marched the boy over to his parents' house\nand let them know that he would not tolerate <span class=SpellE>this.<\/span>&nbsp;\nWhen he released his grip on the boy's coat, the boy said to Dad, &quot;I'm\nsorry, <span class=SpellE>Reverend.<\/span>&nbsp; Father Michael told me to do\nit.&quot;<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>He'd suspected it because of the priest's non-stop\nopposition to them and their presence on <\/span><st1:place><st1:PlaceName><span\n  style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n  color:#663300'>Saint Paul<\/span><\/st1:PlaceName><span style='font-size:13.5pt;\n font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#663300'> <\/span><st1:PlaceType><span\n  style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n  color:#663300'>Island<\/span><\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#663300'>, and the threats he'd leveled against the people for any\ninvolvement with <span class=SpellE>them.<\/span><span class=GramE>&nbsp; Now<\/span>\nthe time had come to pay a visit to the priest.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>Swift denial followed his <span class=SpellE>confrontation.<\/span><span\nclass=GramE>&nbsp; &quot;<\/span>The boys are lying,&quot; the priest <span\nclass=SpellE>said.<\/span>&nbsp; &quot;I never told them to do any such\nthing.&quot;<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>Funny thing, <span class=SpellE>though.<\/span>&nbsp; The\nrock bombardment <span class=SpellE>stopped.<\/span>&nbsp; For a few weeks, <span\nclass=SpellE>anyway.<\/span>&nbsp; Then it started <span class=SpellE>again.<\/span>&nbsp;\nIt would be a single barrage and the boys would run <span class=SpellE>away.<\/span>&nbsp;\nSometimes it would be one or two boys throwing just a few rocks, and other\ntimes it would be as many as six to eight boys.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>One afternoon, Dad stepped out the back door in time to\nsee the priest's son cock his arm and let loose with a rock right toward his\noffice <span class=SpellE>window.<\/span><span class=GramE>&nbsp; <span\nclass=SpellE>Crash<\/span><\/span><span class=SpellE>!<\/span>&nbsp; Bye <span\nclass=SpellE>Bye<\/span> <span class=SpellE>window.<\/span>&nbsp; This time Dad\ntook out after the priest's <span class=SpellE>son.<\/span> The boy was\npretty fleet of foot, but Dad was no mean <span class=SpellE>runner.<\/span>&nbsp;\nHe caught up with him and instead of taking him to his house, he took him to\nthe City Office where an Alaska State Trooper happened to be.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>I think I mentioned before that during the 1960's, and\neven into the early 1970's, we only had an occasional police officer who would\nfly out from <span class=SpellE>Anchorage.<\/span>&nbsp; Other than a resident\nsecurity officer hired by the City, Saint Paul had no police presence of its <span\nclass=SpellE>own.<\/span>&nbsp; Most matters were dealt with internally by the\nRussian Orthodox priest, and since nearly all of the families on the island\nwere related to each other one way or another, it became just a family affair\nin dealing with local <span class=SpellE>problems.<\/span> The presence\nof an Alaska State Trooper meant that some crime had been committed that had\nbeen reported off the island.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>Dad's taking the priest's son directly to the Trooper and\nhanding him over meant that the vandalism and malicious destruction of property\n(which was how the Trooper classified things) was now a police <span\nclass=SpellE>matter.<\/span>&nbsp; It wasn't long, however, that the priest's\nson was released from police custody and his father ordered to pay a small\nfine.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>It wasn't long before the rock bombardment resumed with\nmore broken windows and the destruction or damage of other <span class=SpellE>property.<\/span>&nbsp;\nThis had now gone on over a period of weeks stretching into months, and Dad had\nhad <span class=SpellE>it!<\/span>&nbsp; Walking down the street one day to the\nlocal general store, he happened upon &quot;Father Michael&quot; coming out of\nthe store.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>A boldness came over Alvin <span class=SpellE>Capener<\/span>\nthat was not his usual boldness (and Dad was not known for shying away from\nconfrontation under the right circumstances in spite of his rather retiring\nmannerisms).&nbsp; He addressed the priest directly in the presence of other\ntownspeople and passersby.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>&quot;Sir, you cannot continue this <span class=SpellE>opposition.<\/span><span\nclass=GramE>&nbsp; You<\/span> are not standing against us, and your opposition\nand resentment is not against us <span class=SpellE>personally.<\/span>&nbsp;\nYou are fighting against the Lord Jesus Christ who sent us <span class=SpellE>here.<\/span>&nbsp;\nIf you continue your fight against the Lord, it is you who will ultimately\nsuffer the consequences.&quot;<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>It came out as a <span class=SpellE>prophecy.<\/span><span\nclass=GramE>&nbsp; Dad<\/span> wasn't given to prophesying a lot, and it never\noccurred to him to speak judgment against <span class=SpellE>anyone.<\/span>&nbsp;\nNevertheless, the priest paled at the rebuke, ducked his head and walked <span\nclass=SpellE>away.<\/span>&nbsp; I don't remember if it happened that night, or\nwhether it was the next day, but the priest's son orchestrated himself another\nall-out rock-throwing barrage.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>It would be the final event in this series of <span\nclass=SpellE>attacks.<\/span><span class=GramE>&nbsp; A<\/span> short time\nlater, the fishing season began and the priest's son signed on as a crew member\non one of the fishing <span class=SpellE>boats.<\/span>&nbsp; As already noted,\nthe <span class=SpellE>Pribil of<\/span> waters are classified as among the most\ndangerous in the <span class=SpellE>world.<\/span> Storms arise suddenly\nand -- because of the depth of the waters -- the waves can become very great\nand treacherous, especially for smaller fishing craft.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>It was no surprise to hear that a fishing boat had\ndisappeared in the middle of a storm, but it sort of caught everyone off guard\nwhen they realized that the priest's son was among the <span class=SpellE>missing.<\/span><span\nclass=GramE>&nbsp; Day<\/span> after day after day after day, and week after\nweek after week after week for the better part of a year, the priest walked the\nbeaches of Saint Paul Island, literally walking the circumference of the island\nmany, many times in search of some remnant of his son.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>The Russian Orthodox folks have a tradition that says that\nif they can recover even a fragment of clothing worn by the person who is lost\nat sea, they can have a burial and ceremony that ensures (?) that the dead\nperson makes it into <span class=SpellE>Heaven.<\/span><span class=GramE>&nbsp;\nIf<\/span> no evidence of the person or his\/her clothing is ever found, no\nburial can take place, and the person is regarded as a castaway by God who will\nnot allow that person into Heaven.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>You'll appreciate, then, the effort that the priest went\nto in order to find some remnant of his lost <span class=SpellE>son.<\/span>&nbsp;\nAfter a year of fruitless searches, a very gaunt and exhausted Father Michael\nshowed up at the door of the <span class=SpellE>Capener<\/span> <span\nclass=SpellE>home.<\/span>&nbsp; Dad answered the door and invited him in.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>He shook his head, then changed his mind and stepped\ninside the <span class=SpellE>door.<\/span>&nbsp; Without waiting he said,\n&quot;It is the judgment of God against <span class=SpellE>me.<\/span>&nbsp; I\nwas wrong to persecute <span class=SpellE>you.<\/span>&nbsp; It was me who\nstirred people against you and now the hand of God has been stretched against <span\nclass=SpellE>me.<\/span>&nbsp; My son's death is the <span class=SpellE>result.<\/span>&nbsp;\nWill you forgive me?&quot;<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>Dad shook his hand, nodding <span class=SpellE>vigorously.<\/span><span\nclass=GramE>&nbsp; &quot;<\/span>Of course,&quot; he <span class=SpellE>said.<\/span>&nbsp;\n&quot;Come on in.&quot;<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>My recollection is a bit hazy here, but if memory serves\nme, Mom brought him into the kitchen and served him coffee and <span\nclass=SpellE>cake.<\/span><span class=GramE>&nbsp; The<\/span> conversation was\nsomewhat sparse, and Dad and Mom obviously felt Father Michael's <span\nclass=SpellE>grief.<\/span>&nbsp; I don't recall that there was any great\neffort made that day to talk to him about his personal relationship with Jesus\nChrist: that would come later.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>This is where we need to leave this story for <span\nclass=SpellE>today.<\/span><span class=GramE> Have<\/span> a great <span\nclass=SpellE>weekend.<\/span>&nbsp;
