You know\nhow it is when you enjoy each other's company, and just enjoy doing things <span\nclass=SpellE>together.<\/span>&nbsp; There are those exceptions when it becomes\nnecessary -- or the Holy Spirit directs -- for one of us to travel without the <span\nclass=SpellE>other.<\/span>&nbsp; This is one of those occasions.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>Because I'm in the midst of acting as our son, Chris',\nlegal representative in the purchase of a home here in Sunnyside, and serving\nas his proxy to get his and <span class=SpellE>Chelsi's<\/span> four children\nenrolled in a Christian school even before they arrive from <\/span><st1:State><st1:place><span\n  style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n  color:#663300'>Alaska<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:State><span style='font-size:\n13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#663300'>, the\nresponsibilities are such that I just couldn't get away.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>Sunday morning early I put Della on a flight to Calgary\nwhere Mary Ellen picked her <span class=SpellE>up.<\/span>&nbsp; The two of\nthem are attending a prophecy conference in Red Deer, Alberta with Todd Bentley\n(he's one of those motorcycle evangelists and prophetic teachers like Jerry <span\nclass=SpellE>Savelle<\/span>), Paul Keith Davis, and Bob <span class=SpellE>Jones.<\/span>&nbsp;\nEach morning they call me on the phone to update me with things the Holy Spirit\nhas been revealing to them in the midst of the <span class=SpellE>conference.<\/span>&nbsp;\nIn the days and weeks ahead, we will no doubt discuss some of those\nimpartations from the Holy Spirit.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>I'd like to get right into our discussion today, so grab\nyour cup of coffee, tea, chocolate, juice -- or whatever it is you've got there\n-- and pull up a chair.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>On Monday, as we were wrapping up, I was sharing how the\nEpiscopal priest in Point Hope took personally the departure of families from\nhis church because of the testimony and sharing of 12-year-old Rosa <span\nclass=SpellE>Frankson.<\/span>&nbsp; She was a living demonstration of the\ngrace and power of the Holy <span class=SpellE>Spirit.<\/span>&nbsp; The impact\nof Jesus Christ in her life as her personal Lord, Savior and Shepherd -- and\nnot just as some religious, historical figure -- was such a glaring contrast to\nthe dead, dried-up religion the community had come to know that people wanted\nto know what had happened.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>As a 12-almost 13-year-old, Rosa naturally was a drawing\ncard to other <span class=SpellE>teenagers.<\/span>&nbsp; Her excitement was <span\nclass=SpellE>infectious.<\/span>&nbsp; Mom's &quot;<span class=SpellE>Esthers<\/span>&quot;\nclub suddenly became &quot;the place to be&quot; for girls aged 10 to\n16.&nbsp; More than that, the families of these children began to check out\nour church services.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>The priest, who did not have a personal relationship with\nJesus Christ, saw what was happening as &quot;religious fanaticism&quot; and\nthought he could put a stop to <span class=SpellE>it.<\/span><span class=GramE>&nbsp;\nMore<\/span> than religious fanaticism, however, he felt that his standing as a\nleader in the community was being challenged, and like the shaman felt\nthreatened.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>Visiting the homes of a couple of the families he trusted,\nhe said to the parents, &quot;We have to put a stop to <span class=SpellE>this.<\/span><span\nclass=GramE>&nbsp; These<\/span> people are departing from the faith, and it is\nall due to the influence of Rosa <span class=SpellE>Frankson<\/span> who has\nbeen contaminated by religious <span class=SpellE>extremism.<\/span>&nbsp; You\nneed to talk to your children and have them apply pressure to Rosa to get her\nto stop going over to the <span class=SpellE>Capeners<\/span>.&quot;<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>The fact that it was directed towards us was demonstrative\nof the fact that the priest was unable to see the real change in Rosa's life,\nor the lives of other teens who had also begun to acknowledge Jesus Christ in\ntheir <span class=SpellE>lives.<\/span><span class=GramE>&nbsp; He<\/span> was\nblind spiritually and consequently saw what was transpiring as a battle for\npolitical leadership in Point <span class=SpellE>Hope.<\/span>&nbsp; It is kind\nof analogous to the &quot;big fish in the small pond&quot; <span class=SpellE>scenario.<\/span>&nbsp;<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>It was the first of shots being fired in a spiritual\nbattle that would have lasting repercussions and consequences -- both in the\npresent and in <span class=SpellE>eternity.<\/span><span class=GramE>&nbsp;\nUnknown<\/span> to the priest, the shaman was also visiting the homes of his\n&quot;friends&quot; and telling them virtually the same <span class=SpellE>thing.<\/span>&nbsp;\n&quot;You've got to stop Rosa <span class=SpellE>Frankson.<\/span>&nbsp; She\ncan't keep going over to the <span class=SpellE>Capeners<\/span>.&quot;<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>The next time Rosa headed towards our place for the <span\nclass=SpellE>Esthers<\/span> club meeting, several boys were waiting for <span\nclass=SpellE>her.<\/span>&nbsp; They seized her, roughed her up some, threw her\non the ground and said, &quot;You don't go over to <span class=SpellE>Capeners<\/span>'\nanymore, or else.&quot;<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>She laid on the ground not saying anything and just waited\nfor them to <span class=SpellE>leave.<\/span><span class=GramE>&nbsp; When<\/span>\nthey were out of sight, she got to her feet, tried to straighten out her hair\nand her appearance as much as she could, and then headed over to our house for\nthe <span class=SpellE>meeting.<\/span>&nbsp; When she came in the door, she\nwas obviously disheveled and Mom asked her what had happened.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>&quot;I got beaten up and told not to come here,&quot; she\nsaid, and then added, &quot;but they're not going to stop me.&quot;<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>To most of us who have grown up in traditional American\nsociety, the idea of a shaman is totally <span class=SpellE>foreign.<\/span>&nbsp;\nThe idea that a shaman actually has any real power and\/or the ability to\nactually bring curses upon someone that results in disaster or tragedy is just\nso much <span class=SpellE>bunk!<\/span>&nbsp; Or so most folks <span\nclass=SpellE>think.<\/span>&nbsp; <span class=SpellE>Hollywood's<\/span>\nmovies often portray shamans as relatively harmless Indian witch doctors who do\ntheir thing with herbs, do a few incantations, scatter strange mixtures in the\nfire with resulting sparkly displays, and have visions.<br>\n<br>\nWhat gets left out of these movie portrayals is the fact that the overwhelming\nmajority of shamans exercise demonic <span class=SpellE>power.<\/span>&nbsp;\nThere is nothing benign about <span class=SpellE>it.<\/span>&nbsp; They do have\na kind of power (although it is more psychological than magical), and they do\nexercise it in order to subjugate people and keep them living in fear.<br>\n<br>\nThis shaman was no <span class=SpellE>different.<\/span>&nbsp; The lack of true\nspiritual authority being taught and exercised by the local priest and those\nwho professed Christianity only emboldened Point <span class=SpellE>Hope's<\/span>\n<span class=SpellE>shaman.<\/span>&nbsp; The thought that someone might\nactually thumb their nose at his authority \u201c and especially a teenage girl\u201c was intolerable!<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>At the same time, the priest viewed <\/span><st1:place><span\n style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n color:#663300'>Rosa<\/span><\/st1:place><span style='font-size:13.5pt;\nfont-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#663300'>'s continued\nattendance at the <span class=SpellE>Esthers<\/span> and her ongoing influence\namong the young people as a personal failure of his (self-) perceived spiritual\nauthority.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>Most native cultures have had &quot;trial by fire&quot; as\na normal part of their way of <span class=SpellE>living.<\/span><span\nclass=GramE>&nbsp; If<\/span> someone new came into their village, or if someone\nwithin their community arose to challenge existing authority, that authority\nwas put to the <span class=SpellE>test.<\/span>&nbsp; The intruder or the\n&quot;upstart&quot; would be attacked or challenged in some physical way to see\nhow they would <span class=SpellE>respond.<\/span>&nbsp; The degree to which\nthey resisted or fought back, and the outcome of any fight where they were\nvictorious resulted in immediate respect.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>Rosa's refusal to stop coming was met somewhat the same\nway by the boys who attacked <span class=SpellE>her.<\/span>&nbsp; As far as\nthey knew, they were participating in a conventional native <span class=SpellE>ritual.<\/span>&nbsp;\nThere wasn't anything personal about their <span class=SpellE>attack.<\/span>&nbsp;\nWhen Rosa ignored them after they had roughed her up, it gained their respect\n-- at least for a couple of weeks.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>Neither the priest nor the shaman saw things that way, <span\nclass=SpellE>however.<\/span><span class=GramE>&nbsp; More<\/span> pressure was applied\nto the families, and their boys instructed to be more <span class=SpellE>brutal.<\/span>&nbsp;\nAgain, they laid in wait for <\/span><st1:place><span style='font-size:13.5pt;\n font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#663300'>Rosa<\/span><\/st1:place><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#663300'> to catch her on the way to the <span class=SpellE>Esthers<\/span>\nclub meeting.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>This time, they beat and kicked her, shouting, &quot;You\nWILL NOT keep going over to the <span class=SpellE>Capeners<\/span> or you'll\nreally get it next time!&quot;<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>Again, she laid on the ground waiting for them to <span\nclass=SpellE>leave.<\/span>&nbsp; She was not as quick to get up this time,\nbeing bruised and having blood running down her chin from a profuse <span\nclass=SpellE>nosebleed.<\/span>&nbsp; She wiped her face, got up anyway, and\nheaded straight for our house completely undeterred by the beating.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>Dad was standing at the door when she came <span\nclass=SpellE>in.<\/span><span class=GramE>&nbsp; When<\/span> he saw her\ncondition and learned what had happened, it stirred him to <span class=SpellE>anger.<\/span>&nbsp;\nDad never once engaged in a physical fight with anyone, and he never lost his\ncool (except perhaps when he paddled the britches of the boy who had flattened\nmy brother on the ground with a rock to the head).&nbsp; When he was stirred,\nhowever, look <span class=SpellE>out!<\/span>&nbsp; He knew and had learned how\nto exercise authority in moments of crisis.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div> \n<div class=\"fusion-fullwidth fullwidth-box fusion-builder-row-1-2 nonhundred-percent-fullwidth non-hundred-percent-height-scrolling\" style=\"--awb-border-radius-top-left:0px;--awb-border-radius-top-right:0px;--awb-border-radius-bottom-right:0px;--awb-border-radius-bottom-left:0px;--awb-flex-wrap:wrap;\" ><div class=\"fusion-builder-row fusion-row\"><div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-2 fusion_builder_column_1_1 1_1 fusion-one-full fusion-column-first fusion-column-last\" style=\"--awb-bg-size:cover;--awb-margin-bottom:0px;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper fusion-flex-column-wrapper-legacy\"><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2\"><\/div>\n\n<div class=Section1>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial'>Rosa <span class=SpellE>Frankson<\/span>: a true martyr for Jesus Christ<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>He headed out the door to the <span class=SpellE>Franksons.<\/span><span\nclass=GramE>&nbsp; His<\/span> first conversation was with <span class=SpellE>David.<\/span>&nbsp;\nDavid advised him that pressure was being brought to bear on Rosa by the priest\nwho wanted her to stop <span class=SpellE>coming.<\/span>&nbsp; He was also\naware of the shaman's efforts and the threats that were being leveled against\ncertain families if their sons did not stop Rosa's attendance, and passed that\nbit of information on to Dad.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>His next stop was the home of the <span class=SpellE>priest.<\/span><span\nclass=GramE>&nbsp; Without<\/span> making any accusations against the priest, he\nlet the priest know he was aware of what was happening, and that he would\npersonally take legal action against anyone who promoted this kind of savagery.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>From there he headed over to the residence of the <span\nclass=SpellE>shaman.<\/span><span class=GramE>&nbsp; You'd<\/span> have to see\nit to appreciate it (and I'm sorry that I can't find the photos I took of the\nshaman's residence in time to publish them with this Coffee Break) but the\nshaman lived in a sod hut that had been constructed a hundred years earlier or <span\nclass=SpellE>more.<\/span>&nbsp; His home was a true picture of what an\n&quot;igloo&quot; really is\/was.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>Blocks of sod laid in brick fashion over a framework of\nwhalebones formed a sort of domed (though not really round) <span class=SpellE>structure.<\/span><span\nclass=GramE>&nbsp; When<\/span> covered by snow, it gave the illusion of a snow <span\nclass=SpellE>house.<\/span>&nbsp; These dwellings were as warm and comfortable\n(albeit certainly not as esthetically attractive) as any energy-efficient home\nbuilt <span class=SpellE>today.<\/span>&nbsp;<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>The shaman's home in Point Hope was one of only two\nremaining sod houses in the <span class=SpellE>village.<\/span><span\nclass=GramE>&nbsp; The<\/span> other was occupied by the local National Guard\nleader.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>When Dad knocked on the door and the shaman answered, he\ndid not give the shaman an opportunity to <span class=SpellE>speak.<\/span><span\nclass=GramE>&nbsp; &quot;<\/span>I'm aware of the pressure you've been applying\nto stop Rosa <span class=SpellE>Frankson<\/span> from coming to our place and\nattending meetings; and I'm here to let you know that if this continues, legal\naction will be taken against you.&quot;<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>No doubt the shaman had never been confronted like that\nbefore, and he was <span class=SpellE>speechless.<\/span><span class=GramE>&nbsp;\nHe<\/span> said nothing and closed the door in Dad's face.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>The threats still stood, however, in the lives of the\nfamilies whom the shaman had spoken to, and he did nothing to withdraw his <span\nclass=SpellE>threats.<\/span><span class=GramE>&nbsp; Although<\/span> the\nEpiscopal priest didn't exactly back down, he did not renew his pressure on the\nfamilies in his church.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>Two weeks went by without <span class=SpellE>incident.<\/span><span\nclass=GramE>&nbsp; The<\/span> third week was another <span class=SpellE>story.<\/span>&nbsp;\nThe same boys who had attacked Rosa before saw her headed towards our house for\nthe usual weekly <span class=SpellE>Esthers<\/span> club <span class=SpellE>meeting.<\/span>&nbsp;\nThis time they chased after her, caught her about 150 yards from our house and\nslammed her to the ground, kicking her unmercifully in the stomach and groin,\nbeating her head and body repeatedly.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>When they finally stopped, they looked at her and said,\n&quot;That'll do <span class=SpellE>it<span class=GramE>!<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;\nYou'll never go there <span class=SpellE>again.&quot;<\/span>&nbsp; Suddenly\nconviction took <span class=SpellE>hold.<\/span><span class=GramE>&nbsp;\nRealizing<\/span> what they'd done to her and seeing her almost unconscious and\nbleeding, panic set in and they took off running.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>I don't know how long she laid there before she had enough\nstrength to get up, but she limped her way to our house in defiance of the\nattack, utterly determined to stand by her commitment to the Lord, no matter <span\nclass=SpellE>what!<\/span>&nbsp; When she came in the door, she was doubled\nover in <span class=SpellE>pain.<\/span>&nbsp; Mom grabbed her and helped her\nto the <span class=SpellE>couch.<\/span>&nbsp; Dad shook his head in <span\nclass=SpellE>anger.<\/span>&nbsp; Saying little, he grabbed his coat and cap\nand headed over to the Post Office where the one single telephone for the\ncommunity existed.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>Dad knew instinctively that <\/span><st1:place><span\n style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n color:#663300'>Rosa<\/span><\/st1:place><span style='font-size:13.5pt;\nfont-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#663300'> had suffered\nsome pretty severe internal injuries and needed immediate medical <span\nclass=SpellE>attention.<\/span><span class=GramE>&nbsp; He<\/span> notified the <span\nclass=SpellE>Frankson<\/span> family, then called the hospital in <span\nclass=SpellE>Kotzebue<\/span> for a Med-<span class=SpellE>Evac<\/span> aircraft\nto pick her up.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>At the hospital in <span class=SpellE>Kotzebue<\/span>, the\ndoctors did their best to patch her up and set some bones that had been broken\nor <span class=SpellE>fractured.<\/span><span class=GramE>&nbsp; Tests<\/span>\nrevealed that Rosa had suffered severe internal injury and their prognosis for\nher was <span class=SpellE>grim.<\/span>&nbsp; The head physician contacted the\n<span class=SpellE>Frankson<\/span> family and advised them that her condition\nwas critical, and that they should be with her.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>For three or four days, Rosa hung between life and <span\nclass=SpellE>death.<\/span><span class=GramE>&nbsp; Most<\/span> of the time she\nwas conscious and <span class=SpellE>cheerful.<\/span>&nbsp; Whenever the\ndoctors or nurses were in her room she would tell them how wonderful Jesus <span\nclass=SpellE>was.<\/span>&nbsp; Her ability to keep such joy in the face of her\nphysical circumstances was a source of amazement to the medical staff, <\/span><st1:stockticker><span\n style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\n color:#663300'>AND<\/span><\/st1:stockticker><span style='font-size:13.5pt;\nfont-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#663300'> to her family\nwho were in pretty constant attendance.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>When questioned about the boys that beat her, she simply\nsaid, &quot;They just don't know Jesus. Once they do, they won't try to beat\npeople up <span class=SpellE>anymore.&quot;<\/span>&nbsp; Her forgiving\nattitude astonished the doctors and nurses and even her parents <span\nclass=SpellE>didn't<\/span> know what to make of it.<br>\n<br>\nAfter three or four days of hanging between life and death, and fading in and\nout of consciousness, she was awake and talking to the attending nurse.\n&quot;You need to know Jesus like I do,&quot; she said. The nurse <span\nclass=SpellE>teared<\/span> up, and not knowing what else to do or say, reached\nover and patted <\/span><st1:place><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:\n Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#663300'>Rosa<\/span><\/st1:place><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#663300'> on the head. &quot;You're going to be OK, Rosa.&quot;<br>\n<br>\n<\/span><st1:place><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;\n mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#663300'>Rosa<\/span><\/st1:place><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#663300'> nodded her head and said, &quot;Oh, yes! I know I'm going to be\nOK. I'm going home to Jesus!&quot;<br>\n<br>\nThe nurse ran out and called for the doctor. Her parents had just come into the\nhospital and they followed the nurse and doctor into the hospital room in time\nto see <\/span><st1:place><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;\n mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#663300'>Rosa<\/span><\/st1:place><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#663300'> raising her hands toward the ceiling.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>&quot;Jesus! Jesus! I see <span class=SpellE>you.&quot;<\/span>&nbsp;\nA smile lit up her face, her hands sagged back to the bed, and she was gone.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>Dad preached her funeral in Point Hope a week <span\nclass=SpellE>later.<\/span>&nbsp; The place was <span class=SpellE>packed.<\/span>&nbsp;\nRosa's testimony and her willingness to stand by her commitment to Jesus Christ\nat the cost of her life broke the religious and the demonic barriers in the\ncommunity in the same way that the deaths of Christians in the Roman arenas\nnearly 2,000 years ago caused the flame of Christianity to spread around the <span\nclass=SpellE>world.<\/span>&nbsp; The way she saw things, her gritty\ndetermination to keep coming had nothing to do with the <span class=SpellE>Capeners<\/span>:\nit had everything to do with <span class=SpellE>Jesus!<\/span>&nbsp; Sure, our\nfamily was an integral part of her life and the changes that had taken place,\nbut it was the Lord who had poured Himself into her.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>The same boys who had beaten her were at the altar crying\nout for forgiveness, yielding their lives to Jesus <span class=SpellE>Christ.<\/span><span\nclass=GramE>&nbsp; That<\/span> funeral was only the beginning of an outpouring\nof the Holy Spirit that swept Point <span class=SpellE>Hope.<\/span>&nbsp; In <span\nclass=SpellE>Kotzebue<\/span>, the doctors and nurses who had attended her\nduring the last three or four days of her life and saw the sweet presence of\nthe Lord also yielded their lives to Christ.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:\nArial;color:#663300'>Rosa <span class=SpellE>Frankson's<\/span> death not only\nimpacted her family (the <span class=SpellE>Frankson<\/span> family as a whole\nmade a real commitment to Jesus Christ) and the families of the community who\nhad succumbed to the pressures of the shaman and the Episcopal priest, it\nimpacted the priest himself.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n\n<p><span class=SpellE><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;\nmso-bidi-font-family:Arial;color:#663300'>Ahh<\/span><\/span><span\nstyle='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:Garamond;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;\ncolor:#663300'>, but that's Friday's <span class=SpellE>story.<\/span><span\nclass=GramE>&nbsp;
