gotten\nthere yet.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>We will see what the day\nbrings us today.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>There\nis another, totally different, aspect of the Rod that comforts us and brings us\npeace as we walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death.<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>The rod that David describes is a whole lot\nmore than just a rod for correction.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>Of\nthe 81 times it appears in the Old and New Testaments it is a symbol of\nauthority in the large majority of references.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>The\nfollowing scriptures exemplify the Rod of Authority.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none'><b><u><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>Exodus\n7:9-12<\/span><\/u><\/b><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>:<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><span style='font-size:13.0pt;\nfont-family:\"Bernard MT Condensed\",\"serif\";color:#A50021'>When Pharaoh shall\nspeak unto you, saying, Show a miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron,\nTake thy rod, and cast <i>it<\/i> before Pharaoh, <i>and<\/i> it shall become a\nserpent.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>And Moses and Aaron went in\nunto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded: and Aaron cast down\nhis rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent.<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the\nsorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their\nenchantments.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>For they cast down every\nman his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron\u2019s rod swallowed up their rods.<\/span><span\nstyle='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\"'><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>What\nis clear in this example is that the Rod of God in the hand of Moses and Aaron\nis the Rod of Authority.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>God\u2019s authority\nis demonstrated in this event in the rod that became a serpent that swallows up\nthe serpents that were the rods in the hands of Pharaoh\u2019s magicians.<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>Their authority disappeared by being swallowed\nup by God\u2019s authority.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>Pharaoh had\nvested his authority in the magicians and expected them to show Moses that all\nhe had were cheap parlor tricks.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>The\nfact that his authority in the hands of the magicians disappeared and was\nswallowed up should have sent him a strong message, but, as the Word makes\nclear, he just hardened his heart against it.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>Here\u2019s\na different picture of the authority of the Lord that many believers fail to\nsee and understand today.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none'><b><u><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>Exodus\n27:32-33<\/span><\/u><\/b><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>:<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><span style='font-size:13.0pt;\nfont-family:\"Bernard MT Condensed\",\"serif\";color:#A50021'>And concerning the\ntithe of the herd, or of the flock, <i><u>even<\/u><\/i><u> of whatsoever passeth\nunder the rod<\/u>, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD.<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>He shall not search whether it be good or\nbad, neither shall he change it: and if he change it at all, then both it and\nthe change thereof shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>Do\nyou see it?<\/span><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\"'><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>When\nwe understand that the tithe is that which comes under the authority of the\nLord and is His holy portion, and we honor His authority and holiness with the\ntithe, we experience a level of blessing and provision that more than makes up\nfor that which we return to Him.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>The\nfact that He entrusts it all to us is a test to see if we will return that\ntrust and demonstrate His kind of integrity.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>Let\u2019s\nconsider this picture of authority in another dimension.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none;tab-stops:14.35pt'><b><u><span style='font-size:13.0pt;\nfont-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>Psalm 2:7-11<\/span><\/u><\/b><span\nstyle='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>: <\/span><span\nstyle='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Bernard MT Condensed\",\"serif\";color:#A50021'><span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0<\/span>I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said\nunto me, Thou <i>art<\/i> my Son; this day have I begotten thee.<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>Ask of me, and I shall give <i>thee<\/i> the\nheathen <i>for<\/i> thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth <i>for<\/i>\nthy possession.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span><u>Thou shalt break them\nwith a rod of iron<\/u>; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter\u2019s\nvessel.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>Be wise now therefore, O ye\nkings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0\n<\/span>Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none;tab-stops:14.35pt'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;\nfont-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>Before I continue with another illustration\nfrom Psalm 110, let me share an experience that my father had.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none;tab-stops:14.35pt'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;\nfont-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>Dad was 19 years old when the Lord called\nhim to Alaska.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>This was pre-WW-II, of\ncourse, and Alaska wasn\u2019t a place that the overwhelming majority of folks even\nthought about as a place to minister.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0\n<\/span>Without repeating a lot of detail already shared in the Coffee Break\nseries titled, 40 Years Below Zero, after some years of preparation and a\nspectacular miracle of provision that enabled our family to make the move, we\nlanded in Nome in the fall of 1944.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none;tab-stops:14.35pt'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;\nfont-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>After nine years of ministry in Nome, the\nLord began to quicken Dad\u2019s spirit concerning the various towns and villages\nscattered throughout the arctic.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>In the\nspring of 1953, he was able to hitch a ride on an Air Force C-124 to Barrow.<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>What he saw and what he experienced being\nthere lit a fire inside his whole being.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0\n<\/span>Nevertheless, because of the seeming insurmountable obstacles of moving\nour family into the arctic, building a church, and attempting a ministry where\nthe native cultures were radically different than anything encountered in Nome,\nhe lifted the situation before the Lord.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0\n<\/span>What he was looking for was something from the Lord that would confirm\neverything he had already seen and experienced.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none;tab-stops:14.35pt'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;\nfont-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>Back in Nome, he was praying and the Lord\nspoke that Word to him from Psalm 2: <\/span><span style='font-size:13.0pt;\nfont-family:\"Bernard MT Condensed\",\"serif\";color:#A50021'>Ask of me, and I\nshall give <i>thee<\/i> the heathen <i>for<\/i> thine inheritance, and the\nuttermost parts of the earth <i>for<\/i> thy possession.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none;tab-stops:14.35pt'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;\nfont-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>Not in his wildest imagination could he\nhave foreseen or imagined just how real the Holy Spirit was going to make that\napply to him.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>The very next verse says, <\/span><u><span\nstyle='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Bernard MT Condensed\",\"serif\";color:#A50021'>Thou\nshalt break them with a rod of iron<\/span><\/u><span style='font-size:13.0pt;\nfont-family:\"Bernard MT Condensed\",\"serif\";color:#A50021'>; thou shalt dash\nthem in pieces like a potter\u2019s vessel.<\/span><span style='font-size:13.0pt;\nfont-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none;tab-stops:14.35pt'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;\nfont-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>What Dad saw break was a spiritual\nopposition, religion(s) that pervaded the native communities and the fall of\nshamanism as a major power in the villages \u2013 and even in Barrow and Kotzebue \u2013\ntwo of the largest communities north of the Arctic Circle.<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>The Rod of Authority was genuinely manifested\nwhen, in the face of religious opposition, we saw an outpouring of Holy Spirit\nthat rivaled anything you can read in the second chapter of Acts, with miracles\nbeyond counting and a harvest of souls easily equal to that which happened with\nPeter when he preached on the Day of Pentecost.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none;tab-stops:14.35pt'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;\nfont-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>However, the \u201cuttermost parts of the earth\u201d\ndidn\u2019t stop with arctic Alaska or Canada or Greenland (the ministry had\nextended all the way around the globe (except for Siberia).<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none;tab-stops:14.35pt'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;\nfont-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>A day came when Holy Spirit began to direct\nhim to the Pribilof island of Saint Paul \u2013 a tiny little island (4.5 miles deep\nby about 14 miles long) in the middle of the Bering Sea \u2013 and some 1,000 miles\ntravel west from Anchorage.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>The\n\u201cuttermost parts of the earth\u201d took on a whole new meaning.<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>The spiritual opposition was more fierce at\nSaint Paul than anything Dad &amp; Mom had ever experienced, but the Rod of\nAuthority broke that opposition in ways I don\u2019t begin to have time to describe.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none;tab-stops:14.35pt'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;\nfont-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>One tidbit deserves repeating.<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>Dad went home to be with the Lord on Good\nFriday of 1986.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>Mom remained on the\nisland until the summer of 2000, and went home to be with the Lord in September\nof that year.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>Della and I were tasked\nwith the responsibility of taking care of all their personal effects and\ncleaning out the home at Saint Paul Island.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0\n<\/span>Representatives from the community begged us to say and take over the\nministry, but the capstone came when the Russian Orthodox priest, who had\nspearheaded a campaign to drive Dad &amp; Mom from the island, showed up at the\ndoor, weeping and expressing his deep appreciation for the change that had come\nto the island because of their ministry.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0\n<\/span>He, too, begged Della and I to remain on and continue where they had\nleft off, but that was not what the Lord was saying to us.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none;tab-stops:14.35pt'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;\nfont-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>What we saw in the arctic, and what we saw\nat Saint Paul Island, was clearly illustrated in what David writes in the 110<sup>th<\/sup>\nPsalm.<\/span><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\"'><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none;tab-stops:14.35pt'><b><u><span style='font-size:13.0pt;\nfont-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>Psalm 110<\/span><\/u><\/b><span\nstyle='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>:<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><span style='font-size:13.0pt;\nfont-family:\"Bernard MT Condensed\",\"serif\";color:#A50021'>The LORD said unto my\nLord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span><u>The LORD shall send the rod of thy\nstrength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies<\/u>.<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>Thy people <i>shall be<\/i> willing in the day\nof thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou\nhast the dew of thy youth.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none;tab-stops:14.35pt'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;\nfont-family:\"Bernard MT Condensed\",\"serif\";color:#A50021'>The LORD hath sworn,\nand will not repent, Thou <i>art<\/i> a priest for ever after the order of\nMelchizedek.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>The Lord at thy right hand\nshall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>He shall judge among the heathen, he shall\nfill <i>the places<\/i> with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many\ncountries.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>He shall drink of the brook\nin the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.<\/span><span style='font-size:\n13.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",\"serif\";color:black'><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal conclusion in our Kingdom economy.<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>Consider now what Isaiah prophesied of Jesus:<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none'><b><u><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>Isaiah\n11:1-5<\/span><\/u><\/b><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>:<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><span style='font-size:13.0pt;\nfont-family:\"Bernard MT Condensed\",\"serif\";color:#A50021'>And there shall come\nforth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his\nroots:<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>And the spirit of the LORD shall\nrest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel\nand might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Bernard MT Condensed\",\"serif\";\ncolor:#A50021'>And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the\nLORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after\nthe hearing of his ears:<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>But with\nrighteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of\nthe earth: and <u>he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth<\/u>, and\nwith the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>And righteousness shall be the girdle of his\nloins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>What\nwe have here is a picture of the Rod of Authority being vested in Jesus\nChrist.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>Isaiah names three of the seven\nSpirits of God in this particular prophecy as being the hallmarks of Jesus.<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>As we know, there are seven Spirits of God,\nall of which ARE vested in the Lord Jesus Christ.<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>In this instance, Isaiah is focusing on three\nof them because he describes Him as the Branch, growing out of those\nroots.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>Those three Spirits of God\nmanifested in Jesus during His years of maturation.<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>All seven became manifested once He was\nbaptized, the Holy Spirit rested upon Him in the form of the dove, and Father\nspoke out of Heaven saying, \u201c<\/span><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\n\"Bernard MT Condensed\",\"serif\";color:#A50021'>This is My Beloved Son in Whom I\nam well pleased.\u201d<\/span><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\";\ncolor:black'><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>Once\nJesus had fulfilled His purpose in developing His character and nature in His\ndisciples, once He had fulfilled His redemptive purposes with his death by\ncrucifixion and His resurrection from the grave, the Rod of Authority was about\nto be passed on to those who would be in Him, and in whom He would dwell.<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>We are all aware of the Great Commission, but\nconsider it now in the context of passing His authority on:<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none'><b><u><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>Matthew\n28: 18-20 (NAS)<\/span><\/u><\/b><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>:\n<\/span><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Bernard MT Condensed\",\"serif\";\ncolor:#A50021'><span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0<\/span>And Jesus came up and\nspoke to them, saying, All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on\nearth.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>Go therefore and make disciples\nof all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and\nthe Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I\nam with you always, even to the end of the age.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0\n<\/span>Amen.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>The\nauthority that had been vested in Him at this point is well described by the\napostle Paul in his letter to the Ekklesia in Philippi.<span style='color:black'><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none'><b><u><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>Philippians\n2:9-11<\/span><\/u><\/b><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>:<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><span style='font-size:13.0pt;\nfont-family:\"Bernard MT Condensed\",\"serif\";color:#A50021'>Wherefore God also\nhath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>That at the name of Jesus every knee should\nbow, of <i>things<\/i> in heaven, and <i>things<\/i> in earth, and <i>things<\/i>\nunder the earth;<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>And <i>that<\/i> every\ntongue should confess that Jesus Christ <i>is<\/i> Lord, to the glory of God the\nFather.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal;\nmso-pagination:none'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Book Antiqua\",\"serif\"'>That,\nfolks, is the Rod of Authority!<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>There is\nso much embodied in what Paul is writing here that we need to see this a bit\nmore amplified.<span style='color:black'><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal;mso-pagination:none'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Bernard MT Condensed\",\"serif\";\ncolor:#002060'>As a result, and consequence of Jesus\u2019 submission, Father God\nhas elevated and exalted Him, granting and ascribing to Him that name \u2013\ncharacter, nature, makeup, authority, position and power \u2013 which is above and\nbeyond all names (with their nature, makeup, authority, position and power)<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal;mso-pagination:none'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Bernard MT Condensed\",\"serif\";\ncolor:#002060'>So that at the sound and presence of Jesus\u2019 name \u2013 all that He\nis, and Who He is \u2013 every single knee MUST bow, submitting to the authority of\nJesus Christ, including beings in Heaven, beings in and on Earth, as well as\nthe spirits of departed beings;<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:\nnormal;mso-pagination:none'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Bernard MT Condensed\",\"serif\";\ncolor:#002060'>&nbsp;And every tongue, manner of speech and language should\nagree (with Father\u2019s decree and declaration) that Jesus Christ is Lord \u2013\nsupreme in authority and controller of all \u2013 in the process bringing glory,\nhonor, praise and magnificence to Father God.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal'><span\nstyle='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Georgia\",\"serif\"'>(Philippians 2:9-11, RAC\nTranslation &amp; Amplification)<span style='color:black'><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal'><span\nstyle='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Georgia\",\"serif\"'>Now do you see why David\ncould write <\/span><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Bernard MT Condensed\",\"serif\";\ncolor:#A50021'>\u201cThy rod \u2026 comforts me\u201d<\/span><span style='font-size:13.0pt;\nfont-family:\"Georgia\",\"serif\"'>?<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal'><span\nstyle='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Georgia\",\"serif\"'>With that kind of\nauthority backing us up as we walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death,\nwhat can possibly befall us that we cannot deal with in all power and\nauthority?<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>When we are in Christ, and He\nis in us, there is absolutely no power in heaven and earth, no authority of\nthis world, no authority (if there be any) of Satan that can be exercised\nagainst us without the consequences of Heaven being employed!<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal'><span\nstyle='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Georgia\",\"serif\"'>All of the adventures\nthat we have experienced up to this time, the commitments that we have made to\nthe Lordship and Shepherding of the Lord Jesus Christ, the knowledge that all\nprovision for everything and every circumstance has been given to us, the\ndevelopment of His Word in us, along with our responding to Holy Spirit\u2019s work,\nthe restoration process and deliverances we have experienced from the families\nof the Spirit of <a name=\"_GoBack\">the Fear of Evil, the Spirit of the Fear of\nMan, and the Spirit of the Fear of Death have all brought us to the place where\nwe can go through the Valley of the Shadow of Death, walking with Jesus in the\nPaths of Righteous (because His name, His character, His personality, His\nauthority and power are all at stake in us) have produced in us a peace, a\ncomfort for which words fail us, that comes from the Rod of Discipline and the\nRod of Authority having been exercised for us, in us and through us.<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>(Wow!<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0\n<\/span>Was that a wordy sentence?)<o:p><\/o:p><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal'><span\nstyle='mso-bookmark:_GoBack'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Georgia\",\"serif\"'>Are\nyou seeing it?<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>\u00a0 <\/span>Now, do you understand\nwhy David could write as he did concerning the comfort of the Rod of the Lord?<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal'><span\nstyle='mso-bookmark:_GoBack'><span style='font-size:13.0pt;font-family:\"Georgia\",\"serif\"'>Next\nweek, we continue with the comfort that
