Good Morning, all you blessed people!<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

How're\nY'all doing?  Supercalifragilistic<\/span> Expialidocious<\/span>?  Riiiiiiigghhhhttt<\/span>!<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Every\nso often I find out -- after I've posted, of course -- that I've made some\npretty serious typos in my Coffee Breaks that really alter what I've intended\nto say.  Like the last one, for example.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Here's\nwhat went out before I had a chance to see it and correct it.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

David's\ndescription of the "House of the Lord" is that place where we are\nfunctionally on the same level with the Lord Jesus Christ.  Please note\nthat I've said "functionally" -- NOT positionally<\/span>.  <\/span>Do go off half-cocked<\/u> <\/span>and start suggesting that Regner<\/span> Capener<\/span> is preaching the\nerrant Mormon doctrine that "as Christ once was, we now are; as He now is,\nwe shall become."  That's <\/span>not<\/b> <\/span>what this is about.  We are heirs\nand joint-heirs <\/span>with<\/b> <\/span>Jesus Christ.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Without\nJesus Christ we <\/span>cannot<\/b> <\/span>be seated together with Him in\nHeavenly Places.  We will never replace Him at the right hand of the\nFather.  He will always have that preeminent position.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That\nsaid, it is His will, His desire, His ultimate plan and purpose for us to\nfunction exactly like He does with that same divine power and authority that He\nhas been building in us.  And that power and authority can only function\nthrough<\/span> <\/span><\/span>agape<\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/span>-- God's Love.  Thus,<\/span> <\/span><\/span>agape<\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/span>has to become part and parcel of our nature, our\ncharacter, the very essence of our existence so that we can dwell together with\nHim in His house -- FOREVER!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

OOOPPPSSSS!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That\nshould have read "DON'T go off half-cocked....."  My kids laugh\nabout the fact that I type pretty fast (anywhere from 70 to 100 wpm). \n(I've been doing this since I was 14 or 15 years old).  Typing fast is\nfine, but I generally type as I think, and sometimes I forget to proof-read\nwhat I've actually written.  When that happens, I get these silly typos.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\npoint I was making in the previous Coffee Break was that when we reach the\n"House of the Lord," in this walk and in the development of our\nrelationship with Jesus Christ, He has raised us up to sit with Him in Heavenly\nplaces.  THAT, my friends, is a place of supreme authority!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Maybe\nI've shared this before, but some months ago during one of our times of morning\nprayer and worship, the Lord gave me a vision of the Throne and a perspective\nof the Throne I'd never seen before.  I saw us seated on the Throne with\nthe Lord Jesus Christ.  The Throne literally stretched out beyond my\nhorizon.  I saw the Father seated in His place on the Throne with Jesus\nChrist at His right hand.  We were seated next to Jesus at His right hand.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Ephesians\n2:6-7 just leaped to life in my understanding.  That's where Paul writes,<\/span> <\/span><\/span>"And\nhath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in\nChrist Jesus: That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of\nhis grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus."<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That\nphrase, "sit together" comes from the Greek,<\/span> <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>--sugkathizo<\/i><\/span><\/span>,\nwhich literally translates to:<\/span> <\/span><\/span>to give (or take) a seat in company with<\/span><\/u>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

You\ndon't take a seat "in company with" the Lord Jesus Christ without\nfirst being invited, and then given that seat.  What was it that Isaiah\nprophesied?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"I\nam the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither\nmy praise to graven images."<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span><\/span>(Isaiah 42:8)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We'll\nget to the concept of "glory" momentarily, but do you see the\npicture?  Being seated with Jesus Christ in Heavenly places is a place of\nshared glory, shared authority, shared power, shared blessing, shared\nEVERYTHING!  And He doesn't lightly give that.  He certainly does not\ngive it to those whose lives and worship are contaminated with the <\/span>adoration of<\/b> <\/span>title, position, power, money, people,\npossessions -- STUFF!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let's\nreturn to the discussion on glory we began in our previous Coffee Break.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nfact that the love-relationship between Adam and Eve and God was lost because\nof their having chosen to violate God's command and eat of the Tree of the\nKnowledge of Good and Evil also signified the loss of<\/span> <\/span><\/span>agape<\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/span>(the Hebrew\nequivalent is<\/span> <\/span><\/span>Heses<\/span><\/span>) being manifested through human flesh.  That loss\nnecessitated a continuance of the original plan (not "Plan B", since\nthe Lord was not taken off-guard when this happened) being implemented so that <\/span>agape<\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/span>could\nbe returned and manifested through a people who purposely chose to make the\nLord their Shepherd, and were willing for the Lord to work whatever was\nnecessary in them to restore the flow of<\/span> <\/span><\/span>agape<\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/span>between God and\nman.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Adam\nand Eve were, for all intents and purposes, kicked out of "the House of the\nLord" when they chose academic and experientially-gained knowledge over\nthe revelation that comes through<\/span> <\/span><\/span>agape<\/span><\/i>.  With<\/span> <\/span><\/span>agape<\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/span>comes<\/span> <\/span><\/span>k<\/span><\/i>heseed<\/span><\/i><\/span>.  With<\/span> <\/span><\/span>agape<\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/span>and<\/span>k<\/span><\/i>heseed<\/span><\/i><\/span> <\/span><\/span>comes glory.  This isn't just for our sake: this is\nfor His sake -- His name's sake, His<\/span> <\/span><\/span>onoma's<\/span><\/i><\/span> <\/span><\/span>sake!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Sin is\nso degrading to the human frame and so destructive to our existence that\novernight change and transformation -- restoration, if you will -- back to that\nplace of the Glory of the Lord must be step-by-step, stage-by-stage,\nGlory-to-Glory, until the work is completed.  <\/span>Sinful flesh simply cannot handle\nthe Glory of the Lord<\/b>.  Flesh -- though our mind and our will, and\ndespite our purpose to walk with God -- has within its genetic DNA the residual\ndemands and commands of a way of life totally contrary to glory.  Since\neverything about the Lord manifests His Glory, and everything He is bringing us\nback to is to reveal that Glory, our DNA must be changed back.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

You\nunderstand, of course, what I'm talking about when I refer to our DNA? \nI'm referring to the fact that Adam and Eve's sin changed and contaminated that\noriginal DNA created by God when Adam was first formed, and then God breathed\ninto him the breath of His life.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Here's\na not-so-quick side-note for you.  One of the objectives of water baptism\nis to put to death (perhaps more accurately, to symbolize the death that has\ntaken place by faith) the old man.  The individual who comes up out of the\nwater is a person who has been resurrected supernaturally by the saving power\nof Jesus Christ.  The baptized person has the breath of God effectively\nbreathed into them so that they are now alive by and because of the Spirit of\nGod.  They are alive by virtue of a new spiritual DNA.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Remember\nwhen the Angel of the Lord came to Mary? <\/span> <\/span><\/span>"And\nthe angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour<\/span> with God.  And, behold, thou shalt<\/span> conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt<\/span> call his name JESUS.  He shall be great, and\nshall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him\nthe throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for\never; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"Then\nsaid Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?  And\nthe angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and\nthe power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing\nwhich shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God........... And Mary\nsaid, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And\nthe angel departed from her."<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Do you\nsee the picture?  You know, of course, that it is primarily the blood and\nthe DNA of the father that enters a child when it is formed in the womb. \nJesus qualified as a human being because He was born of a woman, but the DNA in\nHim that gave Him the overcoming power and authority to defeat Satan was the\nDNA of His Father.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

THAT's\nthe DNA that we have as baptized believers.  There's a whole lot more to\nthis picture that we'll take up at some later date, but I wanted to draw this\nexample for you to demonstrate the basis of God's Glory.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

There\nis a process to the revealing of God's Glory, and it follows this sequence: (1)\nLove -- Agape (the Love of God) -- empowers Faith.  (2) Faith becomes operational\nby the Word of God.  (3) The Word of God becomes substance -- manifested\nreality, if I can put it that way -- when it is verbalized and spoken out of\nthat Faith.  (4) The Substance produced by the Word, spoken in Faith,\nempowered by Love, becomes the Glory.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Remember\nMoses' prophecy? <\/span> <\/span><\/span>"But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled\nwith the glory of the LORD." <\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span><\/span>(Numbers 14:21)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Then\nIsaiah prophesied,<\/span> <\/span><\/span>"And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all\nflesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it." <\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span><\/span>(Isaiah 40:5)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

It was\nJohn who later wrote,<\/span> <\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>"And\nthe Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the\nglory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."<\/span><\/i><\/b>(John 1:14)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

How\ndid that happen?  The Word first came to Mary by the Angel Gabriel. \nFaith came to Mary by hearing that Word and, in and by that Faith, she\ndeclared, "Be it unto me according to thy Word."  Thus, by\nMary's word, which agreed with the Word of God, the Word became flesh -- Jesus\nChrist, who was the manifestation of that Word, which John says was the Glory\nof the Father.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Now do\nyou see it?  I may be taking a somewhat circuitous route to get there, but\nthe process which brings the Glory of God is very clearly defined by the Word.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let's\ntalk about God's concept of glory.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nvery first time we see this word, glory, occur in Scripture (in our English\ntexts) is with reference to Jacob's wealth and riches (Genesis 31:1).  The\nword in the Hebrew text is:<\/span> <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>--<\/span> <\/span><\/span>zattig<\/span><\/i><\/span>.  It translates to the following: <\/span>weight<\/u>,to<\/u><\/span>\nbe heavy with riches and honor<\/u>, <\/span>to\nbe multiplied innumerably<\/u>, <\/span>splendor<\/u>,copiousness<\/u><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nword,<\/span> <\/span><\/span>zattig<\/span><\/i><\/span>, appears well before the Genesis 31 reference, however. \nIn Genesis 13:2, the word is translated like this:<\/span> <\/span><\/span>"And\nAbram <\/span>was very rich<\/u> <\/span>in cattle, in silver, and in\ngold."<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Are\nyou seeing the picture?  "Glory" has an outward manifestation\nthat everyone can see.  Contrary to popular thought (and religious\nmythology), "Glory" isn't some kind of halo around someone's head, or\na bright light shining on them.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Glory\nis the supernatural (I really don't like that word!) manifestation of the Word. \nGlory is the product of Faith, which is driven and motivated by Love.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\ndon't much like the word, "supernatural," because it coveys and\nimplies a false picture of "natural."  Sin -- and very\nspecifically, eating of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil -- has\nturned the entire human race into a species of "sub-natural" beings\nwho operate far below that which God originally designed.  The concept of\n"supernatural" is only "super-" when the reference is\n"sub-."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Taken\nwithin that frame of reference, "Glory" is not\n"super-natural": it is the natural manifestation of\nlove>faith>spoken word.  The "House of the Lord"\nincorporates "natural" life as designed and ordained by the Lord.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

In our\nprevious Coffee Break, I said that it is God's will, His desire, His ultimate\nplan and purpose for us to function exactly like He does with that same divine\npower and authority that He has been building in us.  And that power and\nauthority function through Love\/Faith\/Word.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nentire purpose of our walk with the Lord Jesus Christ in the paths of\nrighteousness is to bring us to the place where His Love, His Faith, and His\nWord become part and parcel of our nature, our character: the very essence of\nour existence, so that we can dwell together with Him in His house -- FOREVER!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This\nHebrew word,<\/span> <\/span><\/span>zattig<\/span><\/i><\/span> <\/span><\/span>(and its variants)\noccurs something over 500 times throughout the Old Testament.  It ALWAYS\nis used to demonstrate something visible, something tangible, something that\npeople can relate to in a superlative sense.  Our English texts of the Old\nTestament alternately translate<\/span> <\/span><\/span>zattig<\/span><\/i><\/span>: <\/span>riches<\/u>, <\/span>wealth<\/u>, and <\/span>great honor<\/u>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

For\nAbraham, for Isaac, for Jacob, and for a host of others throughout the Old\nTestament, the Glory of the Lord was manifested to an onlooking<\/span>\nworld in the rather spectacular wealth they displayed.  One of the\ntranslations of<\/span> <\/span><\/span>zattig<\/span><\/i><\/span> heavy,<\/span> and it takes\nno great imagination to see that in the excess of gold and silver Abraham,\nIsaac and Jacob had to transport in their travels.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\napostle Paul made the statement, <\/span><\/span>For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that,\nthough he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his\npoverty might be rich." <\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span><\/span>(II Corinthians 8:9)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Key\nwords in the Greek text of this statement read like this:<\/span> <\/span><\/span>For ye\nknow the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich (<\/span><\/i><\/b>plousios<\/span><\/i><\/span>: wealthy, increased with goods<\/span><\/i>),<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span><\/i><\/span>yet\nfor your sakes he became (or took upon Himself)<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>poor, (<\/span><\/i><\/b>ptocheuo<\/span><\/i><\/span>:\nindigent, to become a beggar<\/span><\/i>)<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>that ye through his poverty (<\/span><\/i><\/b>ptocheia<\/span><\/i><\/span>: indigence -- in a figurative sense [J.H. Thayer]<\/span><\/i>)<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span><\/i><\/span>might\nbe rich<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span><\/span>(<\/span><\/i><\/b>plousios<\/span><\/i><\/span>:\nwealthy, increased with goods<\/span><\/i>)."<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

There\nare numerous references in Scripture which make clear the fact that Jesus was a\nwealthy person in a natural sense.  Literally hours before He was tried\nand crucified on the Cross, we have the picture in John 12 where Mary, the\nsister of Martha and Lazarus, takes a pound of spikenard (worth roughly three\nyears wages) and washes Jesus' feet with it.  Judas, who was afflicted\nwith a spirit of poverty, gripes and says,<\/span> <\/span><\/span>"Why\nwas not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the\npoor?"<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

John's\ncomment afterwards was,<\/span> <\/span><\/span>"This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but\nbecause he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein." <\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span><\/span>John's remark\ndemonstrates that Judas' personal priorities were still about money -- that\n"money" (or Mammon) owned him instead of the other way around.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This\n"bag" as it is described by John has some rather interesting\nconnotations.  The Greek word,<\/span> <\/span><\/span> <\/span> <\/span><\/span>--<\/span> <\/span><\/span>glossokomon<\/span><\/i><\/span>, parallels the Hebrew,<\/span> <\/span><\/span>-- <\/span>kiys<\/i><\/span>,<\/span> <\/span><\/span>which describes an ornamental and decorated bag the\nvery-rich wore around their waists to carry their gold and silver.  This\nbag was a symbol of wealth, stature and position in society.  Jesus,\ntherefore, wasn't "poor" in the actual sense of being poor right up\nto the very end of His earthly ministry.  Rather, He took poverty upon\nHimself as He went to the Cross to deprive Satan of his use of the curse of\npoverty upon those who accepted Jesus' redemptive act on their behalf.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We've\ntaken somewhat of a side-trip here, but my objective is to show you that wealth\nand riches were used by God to demonstrate "Glory."  Those\nriches were something tangible the world could relate to.  The fact that\nAbraham became "very rich" by the hand of God, by virtue of the Blessing\nthat was upon him, became a sign to the world that what Abraham had was a very\npersonal relationship with the I AM, The Creator of Heaven and Earth, the Lord\nJesus Christ.  It was a drawing card for the world to look at in order to\nknow that a return to the Garden experience, and the kind of walk with God that\nAdam and Eve once knew, was available by Faith.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When\nDavid ended the 23rd Psalm with,<\/span> <\/span><\/span>"I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever,"<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span><\/span>he was showing the Glory, the manifestation of the Blessing,\nthe result of a walk in the paths of righteousness with the Lord as his\nShepherd as the culmination, the evidence, the proof-text for what happens when\none makes Jesus Christ Lord and Shepherd of their lives.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We're\nnot quite finished yet, and we'll wrap up this discussion and (hopefully)\nconclude this series of Coffee Breaks when we get together again.  I've\nbeen running behind all week because of the exceptional busyness of things\nhere, so if I don't get to post on Friday, we'll finish this next Monday.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nBible is neither a collection of laws and commandments nor a book of rules. \nIt contains 66 bags of seed that we can plant in our lives.  As long as we\nactually plant that seed, and then water it appropriately with our daily\nconfession of faith, we will receive the expected and very tangible harvest.<\/span><\/i><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n
