Greetings and Solutions!<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

OK, that was\nsupposed to be Salutations, but "Solutions" works, doesn't it? \nYou're looking for some solutions today, right?<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Sorry 'bout\nFriday's overly-long Coffee Break.  I didn't realize just how long it was\nuntil after it got posted.  Guess I made up for the fact that we missed\nWednesday.  Friday's post was roughly equivalent to two Coffee Breaks. \nIf I'm not mistaken, it was the longest Coffee Break I've ever done in the past\n2 1\/2 years.  We'll try to keep today's discussion to a much more\nmoderated length.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I'm running late\nagain, too.  Got up this morning to find that the back side of our church\nbuilding had been sprayed with gang graffiti again.  That meant\npressure-washing the building, letting it dry off (not hard to do in 89-degree\ntemperatures), and then spray-painting it.  Probabilities are that this\nwon't get posted on Monday.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Coffee's on, folks! \nThe office smells absolutely phenomenal!  Love that aroma of freshly ground\ncoffee beans being brewed.  YESSSSSSSS!!!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Well, believe it or\nnot, here we are at the 52nd chapter\/episode\/discussion -- whatever you call it\n-- in the 15 Steps outlined in Psalm 23.  Who'd of thunk<\/span>\nit?  Today, we pick up with the final step in this maturing process -- and\nmaybe it's something of a misnomer to call this a "step."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Nevertheless,<\/span> <\/span>"I will dwell\nin the House of the Lord forever"<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span>-- apart from being\nthe culmination of all that's been happening in our lives as we grow up in God\n-- IS a place of realization in our beings that what the apostle Paul wrote in\nhis epistle to the Hebrews.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"Let us run\nwith patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and\nfinisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the\ncross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of\nGod."\u00c2 <\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span>(See Hebrews 12:1-2)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

In his letter to\nthe Ekklesia<\/span> in Philippi, Paul wrote,<\/span> <\/span>"Being\nconfident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will\nperform it until the day of Jesus Christ."\u00c2 <\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span>(Philippians 1:6)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

You will remember\nthe 6th step of the 15:<\/span> <\/span>"He leadeth<\/span> me in the paths\nof righteousness for His name's sake."<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Folks, that's what\nall of this is about!  This is what the Lord has been doing, and this is\nwhy!  His name is at stake in us.  Jesus is both author (<\/span>--<\/span> <\/span>archegos<\/span><\/i><\/span>:<\/span> <\/span>the one who begins<\/span><\/u>,<\/span> <\/span>the cornerstone<\/span><\/u>,<\/span> <\/span>the power or\nprincipality who initiates the first action<\/span><\/u>) and finisher (<\/span>--<\/span> <\/span>teleiotes<\/span><\/i><\/span> <\/span>--one who\ncompletes to perfection and wholeness<\/u>:<\/span> <\/span>maturity<\/span><\/u>) of our\nrighteousness, our faith and that authentic and divine nature of Him in us. <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

He has been leading\nus in those paths of righteousness so that we will be able to dwell in His\nhouse as his full-fledged brothers and sisters, functioning in that power and\nauthority that is His, and manifesting and flowing in that love of which He\nconsists.  Let me take a quick side-trip to show you something here.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"In the\nbeginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. \nThe same was in the beginning with God.  All things were made by him; and\nwithout him was not any thing<\/span> made that was made. \nIn him was life; and the life was the light of men." <\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span>(John 1:1-4)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Now, let's rephrase\nthis so that it flows with this picture from Psalm 23:6.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"In the\nbeginning was the Word, and the Word was with Love, and the Word was Love. \nThe same was in the beginning with Love.  All things were made by Love,\nand without Love was not anything made that was made.  In Love was Life,\nand that Life was the light of men."<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Make sense?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

OK.  Then\nlet's have a look at what John wrote in his general epistles.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"Behold, what\nmanner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the\nsons of God: therefore the world knoweth<\/span> us not,\nbecause it knew him not.  Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth\nnot yet appear what we shall be: but we know that,<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span><\/i><\/b>when he shall appear, we shall be\nlike him; for we shall see him as he is.<\/span><\/u><\/i><\/b>"<\/span><\/i><\/b>  (I John\n3:1-2)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"Beloved, let\nus love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth<\/span>\nis born of God, and knoweth<\/span> God. <\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span><\/i><\/b>He that loveth<\/span>\nnot knoweth<\/span> not God; for God is love.<\/span><\/u><\/i><\/b>  ..... \nAnd we have known and believed the love that God hath to us.<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span><\/i><\/b>God is love;<\/span><\/u><\/i><\/b> <\/span><\/i><\/b>and<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span><\/i><\/b>he that dwelleth<\/span>\nin love dwelleth<\/span> in God<\/span><\/u><\/i><\/b>, and God in\nhim."<\/span><\/i><\/b>  (I John 4:7-8, 16)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We've just finished<\/span> <\/span>"Surely\ngoodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,"and<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/i><\/b> we talked about\nthe fact that "goodness and mercy" are facets of<\/span> <\/span>k<\/span><\/i>heseed<\/span><\/i><\/span>. <\/span>K<\/span><\/i>heseed<\/span><\/i><\/span> <\/span>cannot follow us\nwithout love being the driving force behind it.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Thus, to<\/span> <\/span>"dwell in the\nHouse of the Lord forever"<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span>signifies the fact\nthat Jesus has most certainly accomplished his goal and objective in our nature,\nour character, our makeup.  This is a change of<\/span> <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/span> <\/span>for us.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When John wrote,<\/span> <\/span>"Beloved, now\nare we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be,"<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span>he could well have expressed that from the perspective of "The\nLord is my Shepherd."  When we first make Jesus Christ the Lord and Shepherd\nof our lives, we really have no clue where He is taking us, where our lives are\ngoing to be led, and what He is going to make of us.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

For those of you\nwho've walked with the Lord for many years, take a look back to the day and\ntime you first invited Jesus Christ to become Lord of your life.  Did you\nhave any idea of the change that would unfold in your life?  Have you not\nprospered in your relationship with Him since?  Are you anything today\nlike you were before you made that decision?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let me take this\nquestioning a bit farther.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

If you've walked\nwith the Lord in the paths of righteousness for 30, 40, 50 years or more as I\nhave, consider where you were in your understanding of the Lord 10 or 20 years\nago.  Consider your walk in the Spirit.  Do you still think like you\ndid then?  Has your understanding of certain truths of the Gospel\nincreased?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Della and I were\ntalking the other day about the changes that have taken place in us in just the\npast ten years.  Things I thought to be truth back ten years or 15 years\nago were still somewhat clouded or shrouded in a mist.  Some of what I\nbelieved then -- and I'm choosing my words carefully -- I've since discovered\nto have been in error.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That doesn't make\nus heretics or "fringe" Christians.  It just means that the\nlonger we have dwelled with and in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ, the\nmore He has revealed of His character, His nature and His makeup. \nLikewise, the more our character, our nature and makeup has been changed.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We were laughing\nover the changes that have taken place in both of us in the past 20+\nyears.  Wow!  I was listening to an old recording of some teaching\nthat I did on Spiritual Warfare made more than 25 years ago.  Has my\nunderstanding ever<\/b><\/span> <\/span>been enlarged since then!  It's\nnot that there has been an altering of the fundamental truth of our authority\nover Satan; it's that revelation has literally exploded in my being of the\ndegree of that authority; it is that there has been an unveiling of the devices\nthat Satan uses against God's people, and just how simple it is to defeat him\nand those devices.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The apostle Paul,\nin his second epistle to the Corinthian Ekklesia<\/span>,\nwrote,<\/span> <\/span>"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass\nthe glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory,\neven as by the Spirit of the Lord."<\/span><\/i><\/b>  (II Corinthians 3:18)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Without getting\ninto all of the words used in the original Greek text, let me expand this\nstatement for you.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"But all of us,\nwith the mystery and shroud stripped away, seeing mirrored the outward\nmanifestation of the Glory of the Lord, are [being] changed, transformed and\nmetamorphosed into that same representation of His Glory by the Holy Spirit,\nsystematically and progressively, from the first Glory to the next, until we\nreach the final manifestation of His Glory in us."<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

THAT, my friends --\nthat "final manifestation" -- is what brings us to the place of\ndwelling "in the House of the Lord forever."<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The Glory of the\nLord is literally the manifestation of who and what He is.  We'll try to\ntake a better or more in-depth look at the whole concept of the Glory in our\nnext Coffee Break.  That's a remarkable study in itself, and I'd rather,\nif possible, keep that discussion separate from today's overview of the House\nof the Lord.  The Glory of the Lord is directly connected to the House of\nthe Lord, and the two are inseparable, but today we're talking about the aspect\nof God's Love and how Jesus' objective is to transform us into His Love.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Even saying it like\nthat makes it seem almost mystical or ethereal, and yet there is nothing\nmystical or ethereal about<\/span> <\/span>agape<\/span><\/i>. <\/span> <\/span>Agape<\/span><\/i>, of course, is the only word ever used in Greek to describe the\nLove of God.  This is an unconditional love.  This is love in its\nhighest form.  What we know as human love (or<\/span> <\/span>phileo<\/span><\/i><\/span>) -- the love that normally exists\nbetween family members, the love that normally brings a man and a woman\ntogether in marriage -- pales next to the Love of God.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let's go back to\nCreation for a second.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Genesis 1:3:<\/span> <\/span>"And Love\n(God) said, Let there be light [or more accurately, "Light be!"], and\nlight was."<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Genesis 1:26:<\/span> <\/span><\/i><\/b>"And Love (God) said, Let us\nmake man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion....[or,\nmore accurately, "Man, be in our image, after our likeness, with our\ncapacity for dominion."]"<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

See it?  All\nof creation began in Love -- the love that was\/is God!  Mankind began its\nexistence in Love -- that same love that was\/is God!  That Love that was\nand is (and ever shall be) God brought with it the totality of Adam and Eve's\nexistence.  Their existence began in Love.  For the length of time\nthey occupied the Garden of Eden, they existed in, through, by and with Love. \nThe Garden of Eden was created in Love.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"Eden,"\nby the way, translates from the Hebrew<\/span> <\/span>, as:voluptuous<\/u><\/span>,\nliving<\/u>,<\/span>  <\/span>pleasure<\/span><\/u>,<\/span>  <\/span>delight<\/span><\/u>. No word better describes the environment of God's Love. \nIt is an environment that brings with it revelation -- a constant flow of\ndivine knowledge and understanding that links one with the Lord in, by, and\nthrough the Holy Spirit.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The fact that the love-relationship\nbetween Adam and Eve and God was lost because of their having chosen to violate\nGod's command and eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil also\nsignified the loss of<\/span> <\/span>agape<\/span><\/i> <\/span>(the Hebrew equivalent is<\/span> <\/span> --<\/span>hesed<\/span><\/i>) being manifested\nthrough human flesh.  That loss necessitated a plan (not "Plan\nB", since the Lord was not taken off-guard when this happened) being\nimplemented so that<\/span> <\/span>agape<\/span><\/i> <\/span>could be returned and manifested\nthrough a people who purposely chose to make the Lord their Shepherd, and were\nwilling for the Lord to work whatever was necessary in them to restore the flow\nof<\/span> <\/span>agape<\/span><\/i> <\/span>between God and\nman.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Adam and Eve were,\nfor all intents and purposes, kicked out of "the House of the Lord"\nwhen they chose academic and experientially-gained knowledge over the revelation\nthat comes through agape.  Now, perhaps, you understand why the objective\nof the Lordship and Shepherding of Jesus Christ in our lives is "the House\nof the Lord forever."  This isn't just for our sake: this is for His\nsake -- His name's sake!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Sin is so degrading\nto the human frame and so destructive to our existence that overnight change\nand transformation -- restoration, if you will -- back to that place of the\nGlory of the Lord must be step-by-step, stage-by-stage, Glory-to-Glory until\nthe work is completed.  Sinful flesh simply cannot handle the Glory of the\nLord.  Flesh, though our mind, our will, our purpose is to walk with God,\nhas within its genetic DNA the residual demands and commands of a way of life\ntotally contrary to agape.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Our transformation\nat the Cross -- that is to say, our acceptance and acknowledgement of what\nJesus Christ has accomplished on our behalf -- is a legal change.  The\npaths of righteousness have been established for our daily walk so that what is\nat first legal now becomes experiential.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I've been teaching\nhere at River Worship Center for many weeks this same study of the 15 Steps\nrevealed in the 23rd Psalm, and -- of course -- taking a lot more time to\nexplore each of these steps than I've been able to do in these Coffee Breaks. \nOver the past few weeks, we've been stuck on<\/span> <\/span>"He leadeth<\/span>\nme in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake,"<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span>and I've been\nsharing the whole concept of righteousness as it is revealed in the Word.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Simply put, the\nword "righteousness" comes from a uniquely Hebrew word:<\/span> --<\/span> <\/span>tsedeq<\/span><\/i><\/span>, which translates\nto (in an ethical sense):<\/span> <\/span>being right or even with<\/span><\/u>;<\/span> <\/span>on the same level<\/span><\/u> <\/span>[that is,<\/span> <\/span>thinking the same<\/span><\/u>,<\/span> <\/span>speaking the same<\/span><\/u>,<\/span> <\/span>doing the same thing<\/span><\/u>].<\/span>  It has other\nconnotations, too, but these are the ones we will restrict ourselves to for the\nsake of today's discussion.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

David's description\nof the "House of the Lord" is that place where we are functionally on\nthe same level with the Lord Jesus Christ.  Please note that I've said\n"functionally" -- NOT positionally<\/span>. \nDo go off half-cocked and start suggesting that Regner<\/span>\nCapener<\/span> is preaching the errant Mormon doctrine that\n"as Christ once was, we now are; as He now is, we shall become." \nThat's not what this is about.  We are heirs and joint-heirs with Jesus\nChrist.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Without Jesus\nChrist we cannot be seated together with Him in Heavenly Places.  We will\nnever replace Him at the right hand of the Father.  He will always have\nthat preeminent position.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That said, it is\nHis will, His desire, His ultimate plan and purpose for us to function exactly\nlike He does with that same divine power and authority that He has been\nbuilding in us.  And that power and authority can only function through\nagape -- God's Love.  Thus, agape has to become part and parcel of our\nnature, our character, the very essence of our existence so that we can dwell\ntogether with Him in His house -- FOREVER!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The Bible is\nneither a collection of laws and commandments nor a book of rules.  It\ncontains 66 bags of seed that we can plant in our lives.  As long as we\nactually plant that seed, and then water it appropriately with our daily\nconfession of faith, we will receive the expected and very tangible harvest.<\/span><\/i><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n
