Good Morning, Y\u2019all!\u00a0 <\/span>This is the best day of your life!\u00a0 <\/span>Yup.\u00a0\n<\/span>That\u2019s right.\u00a0 <\/span>This is the day the\nLord has made, and it\u2019s only going to get better.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

Grab your cup of French Roast (or\nwhatever blend you like) and let\u2019s see if we can get this part of our\ndiscussion wrapped up today.\u00a0 <\/span>We\u2019re still\ntalking about the Table of the Lord that\u2019s been set before us in the midst of\nour enemies as a demonstration of God\u2019s vindication. <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/p>\n\n

Matthew 5:43-44<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0\n<\/span><\/span>Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy\nneighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies,\nbless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them\nwhich despitefully use you, and persecute you<\/u>;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

During\nthe past months, Della and I have experienced repeated circumstances in which\npeople we have extended ourselves to repeatedly, both financially and\npersonally, have turned on us and done their best to get rid of us.\u00a0 <\/span>The presence of the Spirit of God in us has\nbeen exposing wrong behavior and wrong motives in them without our having to\nsay anything whatever. Our very presence makes them uncomfortable, so they have\nmade false accusations, picked at us, done everything possible to find fault\nwith our labors \u2014 which, by the way, have been to bless them.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Many\nof you have no doubt experienced the same kind of thing in your life at one\ntime or another \u2014 and I suspect that because of what God is preparing to pour\nout upon His people that they (perhaps you, specifically!) are under more\nattack than ever before in their lives.\u00a0\n<\/span>It isn\u2019t fun, is it?!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When\nthe normal instinct of one\u2019s flesh is to strike back, the requirement of the\nLord has been to love them and to continue to speak peaceably.\u00a0 <\/span>We\u2019ve even found ourselves in the position of\nhaving to continue to meet their needs.\u00a0\n<\/span>That, my friends, is blessing those that curse us and doing good to them\nthat hate (or at the very least, resent) us.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Here\u2019s\nthe spectacular demonstration of the Table that the Lord has set before us.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We\u2019ve\nseen the provision of God on our behalf grow to such proportions as to stagger\nthe imagination.\u00a0 <\/span>Whenever some unusual\nfinancial circumstance and\/or need cropped up, the Lord has come through on our\nbehalf with a dazzling display of His blessing.\u00a0\n<\/span>The more we are spoken evil of, and the more that our would-be opponents\nattempt to see us removed or otherwise treated, the more we see the hand of the\nLord exhibiting His blessing and His vindication.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let\u2019s\ntake this another step.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When\nwe declared, decreed and prophesied over our lives that, <\/span>\u201cThe\nLord is my Shepherd,\u201d<\/span>\nwe effectively entered into a covenant relationship with the Lord.\u00a0 <\/span>We may not have understood or perceived it\nthat way, and the significance of a covenant relationship with Him may not have\ndawned in our understanding, but this covenant is something absolutely\npowerful.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When\nDavid wrote, <\/span>Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies<\/span>, he set the stage\nfor our revelation of the Table of the Lord.\u00a0\n<\/span>It\u2019s going to seem like I\u2019ve really run down a rabbit trail with what\nI\u2019m about to share, so bear with me.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nTable of the Lord is a covenant table.\u00a0\n<\/span>The fact that He sets His Table before us in the presence of our enemies\nis proof positive of His covenant with us, and our covenant with Him.\u00a0 <\/span>Consider what the apostle Paul wrote to the\nEkklesia in Corinth.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I Corinthians 11:17-34<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Now in this that I\ndeclare unto you<\/i> I praise you<\/i> not, that ye come together not for\nthe better, but for the worse.\u00a0 <\/span>For first\nof all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions\namong you; and I partly believe it. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>For there must be\nalso heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest\namong you.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When ye come together therefore into one place, this<\/i> is\nnot to eat the Lord\u2019s supper.\u00a0 <\/span>For in\neating every one taketh before other<\/i> his own supper: and one is hungry,\nand another is drunken.\u00a0 <\/span>What? have ye\nnot houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame\nthem that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I\npraise you<\/i> not.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto\nyou, That the Lord Jesus the same<\/i> night in which he was betrayed took\nbread:\u00a0 <\/span>And when he had given thanks, he\nbrake it<\/i>, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you:\nthis do in remembrance of me. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/p>\n\n

After the same manner also he took<\/i> the cup, when he had\nsupped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft\nas ye drink it<\/i>, in remembrance of me.\u00a0\n<\/span>For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show the\nLord\u2019s death till he come.\u00a0 <\/span>Wherefore\nwhosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this<\/i> cup of the Lord,\nunworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that<\/i>\nbread, and drink of that<\/i> cup.\u00a0 <\/span>For\nhe that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to\nhimself, not discerning the Lord\u2019s body.\u00a0\n<\/span>For this cause many are<\/i> weak and sickly among you, and many\nsleep.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.\u00a0 <\/span>But when we are judged, we are chastened of\nthe Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.\u00a0 <\/span>Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together\nto eat, tarry one for another.\u00a0 <\/span>And if\nany man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto\ncondemnation.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\ncan see your thoughts!\u00a0 <\/span>You\u2019re thinking, What\nin the world does this have to do with what David wrote<\/i><\/b>?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

For\nthe most part, the body of Christ as a whole has not really understood the\nsignificance of the Table of the Lord as a covenant act, nor do they see that\nthis Table is proof of God\u2019s provision and vindication of His people in the\nworld at large.\u00a0 <\/span>We drink the Cup as a\ncommemoration of the fact that Jesus shed His blood as an example of our\ndeliverance from the curse of death.\u00a0\n<\/span>When Jesus rose from the dead \u2014 and I\u2019ve shared this with you on prior\noccasions \u2014 He rose with light in Him instead of blood.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Being\ncreated in the image of God brings with it certain fundamental\ncharacteristics.\u00a0 <\/span>Adam was first and\nforemost a spirit being with the ability to function \u201ctrans-dimensionally\u201d\nbetween Earth and the Spirit realm \u2014 and whether that included Heaven or not is\nunclear.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Neville\nJohnson suggests that prior to the fall, Adam and Eve had light flowing in\ntheir veins\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>instead of blood \u2014 the\nreason being that God was not and is not a flesh and blood being.\u00a0 <\/span>He is both spirit and light.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

There\nare several Scriptures which support this concept.\u00a0 <\/span>Let me just take a couple of them for the\nsake of brevity today.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Matthew 16:17<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0\n<\/span><\/span><\/b>And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona<\/span>: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it<\/i>\nunto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

I Corinthians 15:50<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b>Now this I say,\nbrethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth\ncorruption inherit incorruption.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

Hebrews 2:14-15<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0\n<\/span><\/span><\/b>Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood,\nhe also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might\ndestroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;\u00a0 <\/span>And deliver them who through fear of death\nwere all their lifetime subject to bondage. <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We\ncan also point to the statement that Jesus made when He rose from the dead and\nvisited the disciples.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Luke 24:39<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b>Behold\nmy hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit\nhath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

He\ndid not refer to himself any longer as \u201cflesh and blood,\u201d but \u201cflesh and\nbones.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Bear\nwith me, folks!\u00a0 <\/span>I am getting to the\npoint of this discussion.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nother aspect of the Table of the Lord is His whole and complete provision.\u00a0 <\/span>It is and was demonstrated in Jesus\u2019\nstatements:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

John 6:35:<\/span><\/u><\/b> <\/span><\/b>And\nJesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never\nhunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

John 6:47-48:<\/span><\/u><\/b> <\/span><\/b>Verily,\nverily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. I am\nthat bread of life. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n

Do\nyou understand why this is critical to our understanding of the Table of the\nLord that has been set before us?\u00a0 <\/span>I know\nthat lots of folks think they have to use flatbread or unleavened bread (or\ncrackers) when they partake of the Lord\u2019s Table, but they confuse\u00a0 <\/span>the Table of the Lord with Passover, and the\ntwo are very distinctly different!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Two\nwords occur in both the Greek and Hebrew texts for bread.\u00a0 <\/span>The word for bread in the sense of the\nPassover, or the celebration thereof is <\/span>matsah<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span><\/i><\/b>(in Hebrew) and <\/span>azumos<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span>(in Greek).\u00a0 <\/span>This is the unleavened bread or \u201cflatbread.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

On\nthe other hand, the word which occurs when Jesus broke bread with the\ndisciples, and the same word that He used when describing Himself as \u201c<\/span>the\nbread of life<\/span>\u201d\nis the word, <\/span>lechem<\/span><\/i><\/b>, (in Hebrew) and <\/span>artos <\/span><\/i><\/b>(in Greek).\u00a0 <\/span>In this case, it means \u201cwhole bread\u201d or\n\u201craised bread.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Thus,\nJesus describes Himself as being the source of wholeness or completeness.\u00a0 <\/span>When the prophets prophesied that Jesus would\nbe born in Bethlehem of Judah (Judea), they were prophesying precisely what\nJesus would be, and what He would demonstrate to the world.\u00a0 <\/span>Bethlehem is, in fact, the contraction of two\nHebrew words, <\/span>bet<\/span><\/i><\/b>,\n(meaning, <\/span>house<\/span>)\nand <\/span>lechem<\/span><\/i><\/b> (meaning, <\/span>whole bread<\/span>).\u00a0 <\/span>Thus, Jesus was born in \u201cThe House of Whole\nBread.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\nknow it seems like I\u2019ve really gotten off track here, but consider the\nprophetic significance of this, and the prophetic significance of <\/span>\u201cThou\npreparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\ntable that the Lord prepares for us in the midst of our enemies is the table of\nfull provision.\u00a0 <\/span>It is the table of\nwholeness.\u00a0 <\/span>It is the table of His\ncompleteness \u2014 in us and for us!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

And\njust look where the provision comes: right after we\u2019ve come through the Valley\nof the Shadow of Death!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Jesus\u2019\ndeath on the Cross was our deliverance from our final enemy: death.\u00a0 <\/span>His resurrection was the restoration of\ncompleteness in Him, through Him, and with Him.\u00a0\n<\/span>It was our resurrection as well.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Don\u2019t\nforget that one of the requirements of our covenant relationship with the Lord\nJesus Christ is baptism in water.\u00a0 <\/span>We\u2019ve\nbeen delivered and set free from death, and have been raised to newness of life\nin Christ Jesus.\u00a0 <\/span>The command, therefore,\nfor us to commemorate Jesus\u2019 death and resurrection with the Table of the Lord,\nis the command to show to the world that we\u2019ve been delivered from and\nvindicated from the curse that befell the human race when Adam ate of the Tree\nof the Knowledge of Good and Evil.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\u2019ve\njust been scratching the surface of this revelation, and there\u2019s a lot more we\ncould cover, but let\u2019s wrap up today with a picture of just how important it is\nfor us to knowingly participate in what we generically refer to as \u201cthe\ncommunion table.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>This isn\u2019t just communion,\nfolks!\u00a0 <\/span>This is covenant.\u00a0 <\/span>This is the celebration of what Jesus\naccomplished on our behalf, and what that covenant shows the rest of the world.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I Corinthians 11:29-30<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>He that eats and\ndrinks [at the Table of the Lord] treating it as just another commemorative act\nand "one more religious thing to do," eats and drinks of the same\njudgment and decree God made [when He said to Adam, "In the day you eat\nthereof, you shall surely die"], not differentiating between this Table\nand any other table.  Because they treat the Table of the Lord as\ncommonplace, many people are weak and infirm and suffer the various sicknesses\nand diseases that afflict human flesh; and many die -- most prematurely.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b>(RAC Translation and Amplification)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Does\nthat make sense to you?\u00a0 <\/span>Now do you\nunderstand just how phenomenal \u2013 and how very significant \u2013 the Table is that\nthe Lord sets for us in the midst of our enemies?\u00a0 <\/span>This is a covenant relationship folks, and\nthis is also a stupendous adventure.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n
