 <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t

\n\tDecember 15, 2017<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t

 <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tOne of the things you will hear me say repeatedly \u2013 and I will say it again \n\tand again throughout this series \u2013 is that God\u2019s people do not understand \n\tthe level of authority that we have in Christ.  When we finish this \n\tseries, I want to do some Coffee Breaks on the subject of the Spirit of \n\tPoverty.  The Spirit of Poverty affects people\u2019s attitudes towards \n\tfinance, to be sure, but this spirit affects the way we see ourselves in the \n\tlight of God\u2019s Word.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tThe Spirit of Poverty causes God\u2019s people to put Him in a box \u2013 and to put \n\tthemselves in a box.  This spirit convinces folks that there is no way \n\tthey can ever operate in the authority and power of God to the level that \n\tJesus did.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tConsider what Jesus said:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t\n\tJohn 14:12-14<\/span><\/u>:\n\t<\/span><\/b>\n\t\n\tVerily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do \n\tshall he do also; and greater works<\/i> than these shall he do; because I \n\tgo unto my Father.  <\/sup>And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that \n\twill I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  <\/sup>If ye \n\tshall ask any thing in my name, I will do it<\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tWhat is it about Jesus\u2019 statement that we don\u2019t get?  My objective in \n\tsharing in this series is to make it clear that no matter where and how the \n\tEnemy operates, he cannot hide from us, and he is subject to the onoma of \n\tthe Lord Jesus Christ in us.  Furthermore, it isn\u2019t simply the name, \n\tthe character, the makeup, the essence of the Lord Jesus Christ operating in \n\tus, it is the fact that we are in Him!  He is the one operating through \n\tus with His full authority and the backing of Father!  We cannot make \n\tit any simpler than that.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tThat said, let\u2019s get on with our continuing study.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tBefore we continue with our discussion on the hierarchy of the spiritual \n\tworld \u2014 and particularly, the demonic realm \u2014 let\u2019s go back and take a look \n\tat something Jesus said.  Of all the things that He said which clearly \n\tdefine the objectives of all the demonic realm, this spells it out \n\tprecisely.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tJohn 10:10<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span> <\/span>\n\t\n\tThe thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy<\/span><\/u>: \n\tI am come that they might have life, and that they might have it<\/i> more \n\tabundantly.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tFirst of all, the Enemy \u2014 no matter at what level he operates \u2014 is clearly \n\tmarked as a thief.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tWhat is it that the thief comes to steal?  Go back to the Garden.  \n\tWhat got stolen from Adam and Eve?<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tThe answer is clear!  They lost their eternal relationship, their \n\tintimate relationship with God.  The second thing they lost was their \n\tability to live without any threat of death hanging over them.  Sin \n\tbrought the curse of death upon them \u2014 and by extension, the human race.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tIt may seem the logical follow-on that the Enemy \u2014 the thief \u2014 comes also to \n\tkill, but it is more than simply enacting a death sentence upon the human \n\trace.  If we believe the decree of Genesis 6:3, we believe that even \n\tunder the curse, man\u2019s days should be 120 years.  How many folks do you \n\tknow who have lived to be 120 years of age?  The simple answer is, \n\tvery, very few!<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tEven in my own family, my great grandfather lived to be 104.  His \n\tfather before him made it to 106.  And both of them were preachers of \n\tthe Gospel!<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tWhat happened?  In my great-grandfather\u2019s biography (written by my \n\tgreat-grandmother), it was clear that Satan repeatedly tried to take his \n\tlife.  Alfred Edwin Capener kept rising above every single attack and \n\tovercoming disease, accidents and effort after effort of the Enemy to \n\tdestroy him.  He finally succumbed to the last attack.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tMy great-grandmother made it clear that he simply refused to accept that \n\tSatan had a right to take his life.  He kept refusing death.  He \n\tcontinued to refuse sickness, and he continued to refuse the effects of \n\tinjury, rising above it each time.  Over the 104 years that he lived, \n\thowever, the repeated attacks on his life, his health and welfare finally \n\twore him down.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tAlfred Capener believed that he had 120 years to live and continued in that \n\tbelief until the Enemy finally did him in.  What he never did come to \n\tunderstand, or have revelation of, was Jesus\u2019 promise of eternity NOW!<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tJohn 11:26<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>\n\t\n\tAnd whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die<\/u>. Believest \n\tthou this?<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tSadly, this has been taught and believed by most Christians as referring to \n\teternity AFTER we die.  That\u2019s not what Jesus said, and that\u2019s not what \n\tthe Greek text says.  The Greek word for \u201cdie\u201d in this case is the \n\tword, apothnesko<\/span><\/i><\/b> \u2014 a term used \n\tfor dying physically, or to slowly die off, to decay physically until death \n\ttakes you.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tFour separate Greek words are strung together when Jesus says, \u201cnever.\u201d  \n\tThe effect of what Jesus was saying was, \u201cnever, no never, not ever, not in \n\tthis world, and not for eternity.\u201d  Because we\u2019ve been so programmed \n\twith the lie of the Enemy that we must die, and that he has a right to take \n\tour lives in this present age, we accept death as inevitable and go along \n\twith his lie.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tHebrews 9:27 and 28 have been taken out of context by preachers for \n\tcenturies to add to the belief that death is inevitable in this life.  \n\tLet\u2019s put those verses in their true context and take a look at what Paul \n\treally said!<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tHebrew 9:15-28<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>\n\t\n\tAnd for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of \n\tdeath, for the redemption of the transgressions that were<\/i> under the \n\tfirst testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal \n\tinheritance. For where a testament is<\/i>, there must also of necessity \n\tbe the death of the testator. For a testament is<\/i> of force after men \n\tare dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\tWhereupon neither the first testament<\/i> was dedicated \n\twithout blood. For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people \n\taccording to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, \n\tand scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the \n\tpeople, Saying, This is<\/i> the blood of the testament which God hath \n\tenjoined unto you. Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and \n\tall the vessels of the ministry. And almost all things are by the law purged \n\twith blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission<\/u>.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\tIt was<\/span><\/i> therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens \n\tshould be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with \n\tbetter sacrifices than these<\/u>. For Christ is not entered into the holy \n\tplaces made with hands, which are<\/i> the figures of the true; but into \n\theaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: Nor yet that he \n\tshould offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place \n\tevery year with blood of others; For then must he often have suffered since \n\tthe foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he \n\tappeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself<\/u>. And as it is \n\tappointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ \n\twas once offered to bear the sins of many<\/u>; and unto them that look for \n\thim shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tHave you seen the picture, yet?  Do you understand exactly what was \n\ttaking place?  Why did Jesus shed His blood?  Why did He die on the \n\tCross in our place?<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tPaul quotes an expression which repeats throughout the Word when he says,\n\t<\/span>\n\t\n\twithout shedding of blood is no remission<\/span><\/u>.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tThat word, remission, is the Greek <\/span>\n\taphesis<\/span><\/i><\/b>, \n\twhich comes from, <\/span>\n\taphiemi<\/span><\/i><\/b>.  <\/span>\n\t\n\tThat word, <\/span>\n\t\n\taphiemi<\/span><\/i><\/b>, \n\t<\/span>\n\t\n\tis one we have discussed on numerous occasions in the past, and it literally \n\tmeans to eradicate from existence, to blot out as though it had never \n\thappened.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tOK?  So what got blotted out?  What got canceled and eradicated \n\twith the shedding of Jesus\u2019 blood and His death on the Cross?<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tSin?  Absolutely \u2014 at least for those who accept and acknowledge Jesus \n\tsacrifice on their part.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tBut there was more than that.  Jesus canceled the sentence of death.  \n\tIf He eradicated the sin that was the cause for death in the first place, \n\tthen it follows (and Paul makes it clear in Hebrews 9) that the s<\/a>entence \n\tof death was also canceled.  Thus, the thief who comes to steal, to \n\tkill and to destroy has lost his power over us.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tThe only way that power continues is if we accept his lie and believe that \n\the still has the power of death over us.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tThe final part of Jesus\u2019 statement concerning the thief is that he comes to \n\tdestroy.  Ever consider what it is that he is out to destroy?<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tThe most obvious is our relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.  But \n\thow does he do that?  The simple answer is that if he can get us to \n\tquestion the Word in any way, or get it to mean something that waters down \n\tor diminishes in any way the power and authority of what He has said \u2014 and \n\tis saying \u2014 our relationship and trust in the Lord begin to decay.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tIf Satan can get us to believe for even a minute that any promise or \n\tstatement in the Word is only for the past \u2014 that it has no application to \n\tus, or that it was \u201csomething that died out with the apostles,\u201d etc., etc., \n\tetc., he has just succeeded in destroying a dimension of our life that makes \n\tus a threat to his existence, along with our ability to exercise the real \n\tauthority we have in Christ over him.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tThere\u2019s a whole lot more to this discussion, but let\u2019s move on and see if we \n\tcan wrap up that portion that deals with the hierarchy of the demonic realm.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tContinuing with our discussion on \u201cprincipalities and powers, the rulers of \n\tthis world darkness, and spiritual wickedness in high places,\u201d let\u2019s take a \n\tlook at the kings of Syria \u2013 most notably Hadad and his son, Ben-Hadad.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tFirst, a little etymology or word-study of the names: Hadad, and Ben-Hadad.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tArchaeologists and historians tell us that the word or term \u201c<\/span>Hadad<\/span><\/i><\/b>\u201d \n\tapplies to the chief demon or \u201cdemonic prince\u201d over the nation of Syria.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tThe term or title of <\/span>\n\tHadad<\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/b>\n\tcomes from a Chaldean \n\troot \u2013 <\/span>\n\t\n\tHed<\/span><\/i>\n\t<\/span><\/b>\n\t\n\t\u2013 which means: to shout, to thunder, to make a noise for the purpose of \n\tgetting attention<\/u>.  We see this term \u2013 <\/span>\n\t\n\tHed<\/span><\/i>\n\t<\/span><\/b>\n\t\n\t\u2013 applied in Hadad as: \u201cThe Thunderer.\u201d  In other words, \u201cone who makes \n\ta lot of loud crashing noises.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tThe prefix \u201cBen\u201d always means \u201cthe son of.\u201d  Ben-Hadad, therefore, is \n\tsimply, \u201cthe son of Hadad.\u201d  That is to say, he is the offspring \u2013 the \n\tseed of \u2013 the demon, Hadad, The Thunderer.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tIn II Samuel 8 and I Kings 11, we have the stories of a Syrian king who went \n\tby the identification of \u201cHadad-ezer.\u201d  Here, we see the demonic power \n\tof Hadad manifested in the name which means, \u201cHadad is his help.\u201d  \n\tAgain in Zechariah 11 we have Hadad-rimmon, whose name means, \u201cbelonging to \n\t(or pertaining to) Hadad.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tIn reviewing the chronology of the sons and generations of Esau (otherwise \n\treferred to as Edom), we see that the very first Hadad is some three \n\tgenerations removed from Esau \u2013 that is to say, a great-grandson.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tOur very first revelation of Hadad comes in I Kings 11 where we read the \n\tfollowing: <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tI Kings 11:14<\/span><\/b>:  <\/span>\n\t\n\tAnd the LORD stirred up an adversary unto Solomon, Hadad the Edomite: he \n\twas<\/i> of the king\u2019s seed in Edom.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tThe KJV leaves you little clue of the revelation that exists in this single \n\tsentence, but it comes in the Hebrew text.  The word translated \n\t\u201cadversary\u201d in Hebrew is actually Satan (<\/span>(<\/span>\u00ef\u00e8\u00c7N\u00dc<\/span>:\n\t<\/span>\n\t\n\ts\u00f1a\u00f2t\u00d6an<\/span><\/i>:\n\t<\/span><\/b>\n\t\n\tthe adversary, the accuser, the attacker<\/span><\/u>).  \n\tThus, \u201cthe Lord stirred up Satan against Solomon [operating in the person \n\tof] Hadad, the Edomite.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tNext we read the following:<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\n\tI Kings 11:23-25<\/span><\/u><\/b>: \n\t<\/span>\n\t\n\tAnd God stirred him up another<\/i> adversary, Rezon the son of Eliadah, \n\twhich fled from his lord Hadadezer king of Zobah: And he gathered men unto \n\thim, and became captain over a band, when David slew them of Zobah<\/i>: \n\tand they went to Damascus, and dwelt therein, and reigned in Damascus. And \n\the was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon, beside the mischief \n\tthat Hadad did<\/i>: and he abhorred Israel, and reigned over Syria.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t <\/span><\/p>\n\t
