 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

Today\u2019s sharing is going to be a bit\nof a departure from our past studies\u00a0 <\/span>\u2014\nand maybe not \u2014 but I want to step a bit into the realm where we\u2019ve had a\nbrother sharing with us and discussing authority from a somewhat scientific\nrealm as well as spiritual and natural.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let\nme begin today by laying some groundwork.\u00a0\n<\/span>For some 70 years, give or take, I have been a musician, a composer, an\narranger, and a songwriter.\u00a0 <\/span>My parents\nwere determined that I should become a concert pianist and started me learning\nthe piano at the age of four.\u00a0 <\/span>In the\nyears since, I\u2019ve learned to play some 30-odd instruments, making, as you all\nknow, the classical guitar the primary focus of my musicianship.\u00a0 <\/span>During the 1960\u2019s and 70\u2019s, I did some\nbackground work as a studio musician with Capitol and Columbia Records.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

By\nthe time I was in my early teens, I had become a fair-to-middlin\u2019 recording\nengineer, and in the mid-to-late seventies, after purchasing the very first five\ndigital audio processors (serial #\u2019s 001\u2014005) manufactured by Sony Corporation,\nI began pioneering in the field of digital recording. I discovered, to my\nastonishment, that there existed a science to programming the behavior and\nattitudes of people through the subconscious introduction of certain sounds,\nwords and phrases; and that it was only necessary for these sounds, words, or\nphrases to be repeated six times before they were retained in the memory of\nthe\u00a0 <\/span>hearer.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nfact that these sounds, words and phrases needed to be repeated six<\/i>\ntimes demonstrated for me another scriptural proof \u2014 the fact that the number\nof man is six<\/i><\/b>.<\/i>\u00a0 <\/span>Add\nto that the fact that the human\u00a0 <\/span>nervous\nsystem operates at a frequency around 60 hertz (or cycles per second), that it\ntakes a horizontal scan frequency on a television or computer monitor screen of\nroughly 60 hertz for the human eye to perceive a still\u00a0 <\/span>image, and the significance of the number six\nis further amplified.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Our\nfive senses all have an optimal sensory frequency which is either six, or a\nmultiple thereof.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

In\nfact the number six, and multiples thereof, even applies to the biological\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>frequency of the food combinations that make\nup a healthy diet.\u00a0 <\/span>The number six\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>occurs so many times with respect to the\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>human anatomy, the central nervous system,\naural and visual perception that it almost boggles the mind.\u00a0 <\/span>(There was a 600+ page study written and\nprepared by the U.S. Dept. of Health during the Reagan years on this topic, and\nit is quite revealing.)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let\u2019s\ntake this discussion to the next step.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

All\nplant and animal life lives and functions with specific clock cycles.\u00a0 <\/span>All plants vibrate at certain\nfrequencies.\u00a0 <\/span>Even though it may be\nsub-audible, all plant life generates certain sounds.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We\nsometimes<\/a> chuckle at the cattleman who puts music in the\ncow stalls so they will give off more milk.\u00a0\n<\/span>We even look somewhat cross-eyed at the horticulturalist who plays music\nto get certain plants to grow.\u00a0 <\/span>As\nhumorous as it may seem, it still works.\u00a0\n<\/span>There is good, scientific reasoning to support it.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Sound\nis not just a part of our lives: it is integral to human existence.\u00a0 <\/span>Sound is even a necessary function in the\nlives of those who suffer from auditory impairment and deafness.\u00a0 <\/span>As the following truths unfold, you will\nreadily understand the significance of the word that Isaiah wrote.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Isaiah 50:4<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0\n<\/span><\/span><\/b>He wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned. The Lord God hath\nopened mine ear\u2026..<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

NOTHING,\ntherefore, is so important as what<\/i> we hear, and the way<\/i> we\nhear!\u00a0 <\/span>Consider, then, Adam and Eve\u2019s\nresponse when they heard the Lord after having partaken of the fruit of the\nTree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/span>Genesis 3:8<\/u>: <\/b><\/span>"And\nthey heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the Garden<\/span>........"\n<\/span>(NASB)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nword in the Hebrew text is, <\/span>kowl<\/span><\/i><\/b>, <\/span>pronounced,\n\u201ckole.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>Throughout the Old Testament\nthis word is alternately translated, "call," or "voice," or\n"sound."\u00a0 <\/span>It is distinguished\nby the fact that it is:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>\u201ca distinctive sound uttered\nwith a specific purpose.\u201d<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

To\nthis we add another Hebrew word, <\/span>shem<\/span><\/i><\/b>,<\/span><\/i> <\/span>which is\npronounced, "shame."\u00a0 <\/span>We are\nmost familiar with this word as the name of the third son of Noah, Shem.\u00a0 <\/span>This word has far-reaching significance,\nhowever.\u00a0 <\/span>It is the same word which the\nSeptuagint translators rendered as, <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b>,<\/span><\/i> <\/span>and represents the\nsame thing, whether in Greek or Hebrew.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We\u2019ve\ntalked about this many times, but once again it means: <\/span>the\ncharacter, the makeup, the very essence of one's being.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

J.\nH. Thayer identifies onoma <\/span><\/i><\/b>as: <\/span>the\nname, rank, title, authority, power, position -- In other words, everything\nwhich signifies a specific individual;\u00a0\n<\/span>that which represents his quality and property, his very being.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

From\nthis we derive another word, <\/span>Shemuel. <\/span><\/i><\/b>We obviously know\nthis better as, "Samuel."\u00a0\n<\/span>Samuel's name was his <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b>, <\/span>his <\/span>shem<\/span><\/i><\/b>.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>It represented several things all rolled up\ninto one: the name <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b>\nof God, the sound of the Lord God, and: to be heard of God.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nsignificance of <\/span>"to be heard," <\/span>is easily seen in Samuel's calling as a\nprophet.\u00a0 <\/span>He was, himself, representative\nof God's voice in the land of Israel.\u00a0 <\/span>He\n<\/span>"heard"<\/span> <\/span>the voice of the\nLord speaking to him; and Israel <\/span>"heard" <\/span>the voice of the\nLord as Samuel trumpeted that word.\u00a0 <\/span>Both\nShem and Samuel\u00a0 <\/span>represented the <\/span>onoma <\/span><\/i><\/b>of the Lord in the\nland.\u00a0 <\/span>They characterized His voice, and\nHis sound.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

From\nthe onoma of the Lord came His sound.\u00a0\n<\/span>His sound incorporated articulate speech which communicated His heart's\nintent and desire.\u00a0 <\/span>His sound, as illustrated\nin\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Exodus 19, went forth as trumpets\nand as thunder.\u00a0 <\/span>Although neither\ntrumpets nor thunder could be called "articulate speech," there was\npurpose and intent communicated by the Lord in those sounds.\u00a0 <\/span>His onoma,<\/i><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

His\nvery essence and makeup and His Spirit were all communicated in those sounds.\nIsrael trembled at the foot of Mount Sinai, and the mountain literally shook as\nif by a great earthquake when the Lord uttered His sound.\u00a0 <\/span>His sound -- in this case -- is described in\nthe Hebrew text as <\/span>"long, loud, blasts of trumpets."\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>These were not articulated as speech, as we\nthink of speech, and yet the purpose of the Lord was communicated with an\nauthority that gripped the people gathered.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

In\nJoshua 6, we see yet another picture of the Sound of the Lord.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Michael, the Archangel, has already come and\ninstructed Joshua on the means by which he will take the city of Jericho.\u00a0 <\/span>The city will fall by the Sound of the Lord.\u00a0 <\/span>That sound was manifested in the blowing of\nseven trumpets by seven priests.\u00a0 <\/span>Those\nseven trumpets represented the Seven Spirits of God, each trumpet <\/span>"blowing\nas a voice."\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>The collective\nseven represented the <\/span>onoma <\/span><\/i><\/b>of the Lord.\u00a0 <\/span>Added to these\u00a0 <\/span>trumpets on the seventh day were the\ncollective sounds of approximately 160,000 soldiers, shouting with one\nvoice.\u00a0 <\/span>As we are all well aware, Jericho\nfell to this sound.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Three\nthings were manifested in that sound as it went forth.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nfirst<\/span><\/b> was the sound of the Bridegroom\ncalling His Bride into the Land of Promise.\u00a0\n<\/span>From before the time of creation, the Lord had sought for a Bride who\nwould become His co-equal counterpart, His Other Self.\u00a0 <\/span>When he spoke, and His sound went forth, the\nuniverse exploded into existence.\u00a0 <\/span>When\nHe spoke, and His sound went forth, the world we have lived in was created.\u00a0 <\/span>When He spoke, and His sound went forth, dry\nland emerged from chaos,\u00a0 <\/span>separating the\nwaters.\u00a0 <\/span>That it was the sound of the\nBridegroom is evident when you take each Hebrew letter in the repeated phrase\nthroughout Genesis 1, <\/span>"And God said...," <\/span>and add the numerical value together.\u00a0 <\/span>It comes to 8-8-8 or a derivative thereof.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Throughout\nscripture, this number represents Jesus Christ.\u00a0\n<\/span>Just as "seven" represents the Father, and "nine"\nrepresents the Holy Spirit, "eight" is the number of Jesus Christ,\nthe Bridegroom.\u00a0 <\/span>The "sevens,"\nand "eights," and "nines"\u00a0\n<\/span>always appear as\u00a0 <\/span>triads (7-7-7),\n(8-8-8), or (9-9-9) indicating "God."\u00a0\n<\/span>His creative power went forth to form a world for a people who would\nlive and overcome all obstacles in order to fellowship with Him and become One\nwith Him.\u00a0 <\/span>The first time we see His\nvoice\u00a0 <\/span>mentioned in reference to any\nconversation with Man, it occurs in Genesis 3:8, as a loving sound, calling for\nthose people He had created for His fellowship.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nsecond<\/span><\/b> was the sound of judgment as\nthe Lord uttered His judgment upon the seven nations of the land.\u00a0 <\/span>The Lord had already spoken the intent of His\nheart to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.\u00a0\n<\/span>He had communicated to Moses that Israel was to be given, and to take,\nthe land occupied by the Hittites and the Jebusites, the Hivites and the\nAmorites, the Perizzites, the Canaanites and the Girgashites.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

These\nwere seven nations, each of whom had a presiding spirit which represented the\ncentral character and makeup of its people.\u00a0\n<\/span>Each of those seven spirits made up a collective whole representing the\nonoma of Satan.\u00a0 <\/span>The Sound of the Lord\nwas the going forth of His judgment upon a land and peoples who had given\nthemselves over to Satan.\u00a0 <\/span>It was the\nwarning and the announcement that territory which had been occupied by the\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Enemy was now being given to the people of\nGod -- that it was theirs for the taking.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nthird<\/span><\/b> was the sound of deliverance\nfor Rahab and her family.\u00a0 <\/span>Although the\ncity of Jericho was\u00a0 <\/span>destroyed and every\nlast man, woman, and child killed, Rahab and her family were delivered because\nof her spoken and demonstrated faith in the Lord God.\u00a0 <\/span>The sound of those trumpets and voices\nspelled her deliverance from a life which she hated, and saw her redeemed by Salmon\nas his wife and incorporated into the lineage of our Bridegroom, Jesus Christ.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

With\neach occurrence that the Sound of the Lord has gone forth since the beginning\nof time, an aspect of His onoma, His character, His makeup, the very essence of\nHis being, has been\u00a0 <\/span>manifested.\u00a0 <\/span>It becomes apparent, therefore, that\n"sound" has much greater significance than we have attached.\u00a0 <\/span>"Sound" is the going forth of\n"Spirit."<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"Sound"\nis the going forth of "onoma."\u00a0\n<\/span>"Sound" is the going forth of the very essence -- or a part\nthereof -- of the utterer or giver of that "sound."\u00a0 <\/span>The fact that we frequently refer to that\n"sound" as one's voice is simply indicative of the fact that the\n"sound" conveys or articulates purpose or intent.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"Sound"\nwithin this usage is much more than speech.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When\nthe Lord utters his Sound, life goes forth.\u00a0\u00a0\n<\/span>Whether that sound is articulated as speech, whether that sound arises\nas a\u00a0 <\/span>prophetic word, whether that sound\nblasts forth as the sound of a\u00a0 <\/span>trumpet,\npeals as thunder, or blows as the wind, creative life, power and authority flow\nout, and judgment issues forth.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Consider\nthe fact that the Lord literally "blew" his sound within us at\ncreation.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Genesis 2:7:<\/span><\/u><\/b> <\/span>The Lord God\nformed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath\nof life; and man became a\u00a0 <\/span>living soul.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When\nthe Lord breathed His breath into us, we took on an aspect of His onoma.\u00a0 <\/span>Sound became central to our existence.\u00a0 <\/span>In Genesis 4:10, following Cain's murder of\nhis brother, Abel, the Lord says to Cain, <\/span>"What have you\ndone?\u00a0 <\/span>The sound<\/u> of your brother's\nblood cries unto me from the ground."<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

A\nscientist friend of ours, Dr. Joseph O'Neil, shared with us about a device\nwhich he developed for the purpose of testing human blood.\u00a0 <\/span>He told us that he has been able to\ncomputerize the spectral scanning of blood into its musical equivalent by\nconverting the structure and makeup of the blood into mathematical\nnumbers.\u00a0 <\/span>Those numbers are then\ncorrelated into their musical counterparts across the audible spectrum.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"Healthy\nblood," Joe says, "gives off a very melodic sound.\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cBlood which is diseased generates sounds\nwhich tend to be strident."\u00a0 <\/span>He\nstated that the blood of a person with cancer will give off dissonant and\ndiscordant sounds -- the sounds of death; and that every disease which afflicts\nman affects the melody and harmonic sounds of the blood.\u00a0 <\/span>Joe went on to say that the sound of a\nperson's blood makes their medical history easily readable; and further, that\nevery person's blood gives off a distinctive sound which is as easily\nidentifiable as a fingerprint.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\naccuracy of the scriptural account of Abel's blood "crying from the\nground" is easily provable, therefore, in the scientific realm.\u00a0 <\/span>It also substantiates the fact that\n"sound" is integral to our existence; that we give off a sound which\nis distinct to our onoma, and that we are receptive to sound at the most basic\nlevel of our existence.\u00a0 <\/span>On at least\nthree occasions, the Lord spoke to Moses, telling him that <\/span>"all\nlife is in the blood." <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>If we follow the\nlogic that all life is in the blood, and blood radiates sound, we then as human\nbeings are all susceptible to sound -- for life or death!<\/o:p><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We\nneed to stop here, and continue this next week.\u00a0\n<\/span>This part of our discussion is going to take place over the next three\nor four weeks (or maybe more).<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n
