 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

We have lots of territory to cover\nagain today, so without any fanfare\u2026\u2026.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Remember\nthat the Serpent did not come to Adam and Eve as an ugly, abhorrent, slimy\ncreature.\u00a0 <\/span>He came as a beautiful\nbeing.\u00a0 <\/span>Ezekiel describes him this way,<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Ezekiel 28:12,13, NAS<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>"You had the\nseal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.\u00a0 <\/span>You were in Eden, the garden of\nGod......"<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

By\nthe same token, the Dragon -- whom we know to be the serpent, Satan -- John\ndescribes as being cloaked in the\u00a0\n<\/span>innocence of a lamb.\u00a0 <\/span>Again, the\ntell-tale sign of his true identity, his true <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b>, is the sound\nwhich comes forth from his\u00a0 <\/span>being.\u00a0 <\/span>It is the sound of destruction.\u00a0 <\/span>It is the sound of lies.\u00a0 <\/span>It is the sound of treachery.\u00a0 <\/span>It is the sound of deception.\u00a0 <\/span>And it is deadly!<\/o:p><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This\nis the sound which fills the earth today.\u00a0\n<\/span>Whether it comes head-on as the popular music of the day, or whether it\ncomes disguised as "church music," or "contemporary gospel\nmusic," its purpose and goal are one and the same: to deceive God's\npeople; to prevent them from\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\n<\/span>becoming a part of the Bride of the Lord Jesus Christ; to prevent Jesus\nChrist from obtaining the completed Bride, the counterpart for which He has\nwaited, the collective being who will be His "other self."<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Before\ncontinuing, I should perhaps note that I am not pointing fingers at any\nindividuals.\u00a0 <\/span>It is not my purpose to\nspeak evil of Christians who are involved in the media, nor those who are\n"contemporary Christian" musicians or singers, nor those who write\nand compose Christian music.\u00a0 <\/span>In that\nwhich I now share, I am not<\/i> <\/b>indicting all<\/b> television, all<\/b>\nradio, all<\/b> print media, etc.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

There\nare some -- albeit it seems precious few anymore -- programs, recordings,\nmovies, videos, books and magazines which\u00a0\n<\/span>genuinely convey and transmit the <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span><\/i>of the Lord Jesus\nChrist, our Bridegroom, and His heart's desire, whether by music, by dramatic\nportrayal in documentary or fictional form, by stories which come alive as\nparables, etc., etc.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

There\nis another way in which the "sound of the dragon" fills our\nsociety.\u00a0 <\/span>Much of our contemporary media\n-- Radio, Television, Newspapers, Movies, Computer Games, etc. -- flood us with\ninformation and disinformation.\u00a0 <\/span>It is\nthe sound of confusion.\u00a0 <\/span>Whether one\nlistens to music on the radio, or news, or talk shows, or information programs,\none is subjected continually to a barrage of the Enemy.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

His\n<\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b> is continually manifested.\u00a0 <\/span>His sound immerses the listener in his\nthoughts, his purposes, his desires, the very essence of his being.\u00a0 <\/span>After more than 50 years in broadcasting, I\ncan say this will complete confidence \u2014 and most of you already know my desires\nas far as the future is concerned.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Within\nthe print media -- newspapers, magazines, "information" circulars --\nour society is bombarded daily with utter chaos.\u00a0 <\/span>Much of the so-called "news" we\nread is negative in nature, and tends to focus our attention on a spirit of\nfear, despair, hopelessness, discouragement and depression.\u00a0 <\/span>We frequently read aloud from the newspapers\nor magazines, and the very sound of our voice speaking that which comes forth\nout of these periodicals speaks agreement with the <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b> of the enemy.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Back\nin the 1970's, David Wilkerson was given a vision of these days, and he saw\ntelevision as a medium of pure filth.\u00a0\n<\/span>Indeed, the situation has grown so bad that watching (and listening to)\ntelevision without being highly selective is destructive to one's spirit.\u00a0 <\/span>One is subjected not only to gross sights,\nbut sounds -- sounds which come straight out of the spirits of Satan.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Some,\nif not much, of the music which is the "mood" and\n"backdrop" for television programs and movies is generated and\ncarefully orchestrated by individuals who, knowingly or unknowingly, are under\nthe influence or control of demonic forces.\u00a0\n<\/span>More is transmitted in the music and sound tracks for these programs\nthan one sees visually.\u00a0 <\/span>The effect is\nmore deadly because one's consciousness is sidetracked by the visuals.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

It\nbecomes a lethal form of subliminal programming, subjecting those who watch and\nlisten to the <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b> -- the very essence and makeup --\nof an Enemy whose purpose and intent is to destroy.\u00a0 <\/span>It becomes lethal because those who listen,\nhear at the level of their subconscious without being consciously aware of that\nwhich is penetrating their beings.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Television\nhas even been a hot topic of concern within our U.S. Congress from time to\ntime.\u00a0 <\/span>Legislators have periodically\ntaken up the debate over the filth being promulgated as "talk shows,"\nin which deviant life styles and activities are "normalized" within\nour society by continuing to make them topics of discussion, interviewing those\nwho live amorally and immorally, hour after hour, day after day, week after\nweek, and month after month.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Here\nagain, in a different form, the "sound" of this filth is channeled\ninto the living rooms of people, and particularly Christians, permeating them\nwith the spirit which is behind this corruption.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This\nis where we, as the Bride of Christ, absolutely must become discerning in that\nwhich we see and hear.\u00a0 <\/span>We must be able\nto discern the spirit \u2014 the <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b> \u2014 of that which we hear.\u00a0 <\/span>If we can discern the <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b> behind the sounds\nthat fill our daily life, we can rule over our own spirits and allow the peace\nof God to fill our beings.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Those\nof God's people who give themselves over to hearing the sound of these spirits\nday after day, week after week, month after month, eventually become what they\nhear.\u00a0 <\/span>Those spirits permeate and\ninfiltrate their spirits, filling them with doubt, unbelief, fear, anger,\nfrustration, confusion, depression, etc., and robbing them of faith, hope,\npraise, worship and intimacy with the Lord Jesus Christ.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Stores,\nshops, boutiques, shopping malls and centers, restaurants and cafes\ncontinuously play either radio programming in the background (to set a\n"mood" for their clientele and shopping customers) or preprogrammed\nmusic which is supplied via an encoded high-frequency radio channel or by tape.\n\u00a0<\/span>A great majority of this music comes\nstraight out of the <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b> of Satan.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This\ncannot be a part of the life of the Bride!\u00a0\n<\/span>Again, I am not<\/i><\/b> talking about not watching any <\/b>television,\nnot listening to any<\/b> radio, not reading any<\/b> magazines or\nnewspapers.\u00a0 <\/span>I am talking about the\ngiving of one's self continually, daily, to the spirits which motivate these\nsounds.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

A\nBride who is in love with the Lord Jesus Christ will give herself, her time,\nher thoughts, her desires to Him!\u00a0 <\/span>She\nwill live a thought life, a hearing life, a speaking life, which is reflective\nof the One to whom she belongs.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

In\nthe mid-eighties, while working as a professor, teaching classes in commercial\nbroadcasting, I took one of my classes and asked them to conduct a search of\npopular music themes, and the music of popular contemporary singers and\nmusicians, looking for the specific theme and central thought behind each piece\nof music.\u00a0 <\/span>Some of my students even began\nlooking for subliminal messages and themes which had been added to the music in\nthe post-production and editing process.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Their\nfindings, while not much of a surprise to me, astonished them.\u00a0 <\/span>Those findings confirmed what the Spirit of\nthe Lord has been saying to us.\u00a0 <\/span>They\nfound that the central themes being pushed -- the thoughts which were being\ncommunicated, either consciously or subconsciously -- revolved around (1) <\/span><\/b>promiscuous sex, (2) <\/span><\/b>greed, (3) <\/span><\/b>fear,\nand (4) <\/span><\/b>rebellion.\u00a0 <\/span>Way down the list was "love" -- and\nthat was subject to what one interpreted as "love."\u00a0 <\/span>Very little of that \u201clove\u201d was a\nGod-generated love.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

One\nstudent found a series of repetitious messages which had been added in the\npost-production process to some early Beetles recordings.\u00a0 <\/span>These messages were not "backward\nmasked" in an effort to conceal their existence.\u00a0 <\/span>They were simply recorded at a very low level\nbehind the music.\u00a0 <\/span>The message: "Buy\nme."\u00a0 <\/span>It was a purposeful effort to\nsubliminally manipulate people into buying their music.\u00a0 <\/span>They found a few backward-masked messages\namong the so-called "acid-rock" recordings.\u00a0 <\/span>In each case, these messages were blatant\nSatan worship, messages of hate, anger, rebellion and fear.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

If\nnothing else came out of these studies and experiments, it was visible and\naudible proof of the <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b> of an Enemy whose whole purpose and\ndesire is to subvert the desire, the drawing, the purposes of the Lord Jesus\nChrist.\u00a0 <\/span>It was a graphic portrayal of an\nonoma whose entire existence and purpose revolves around its opposition to the\nonoma of the Lord.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Consider\nnow some pictures of the sound as it relates to the Bride.\u00a0 <\/span>Most of you have heard me share during the\npast few years on David, and the way in which the sound of the Lord went\nthrough him.\u00a0 <\/span>I will not take the time in\nthis letter to recount that whole picture except to draw a couple of\nillustrations.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

As\na shepherd feeding his flock, David heard the sound of the Lord.\u00a0 <\/span>As he sat on the hillsides with his harp,\nDavid would praise and worship the Lord. He epitomized the sound of the Lord.\u00a0 <\/span>The Spirit of God would flow through him hour\nafter hour after hour as he ministered to the Lord.\u00a0 <\/span>Spontaneous worship was the norm, not the\nexception.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Saul\nwas the king in Israel at the time.\u00a0\n<\/span>Because of his rebellion against the Lord, his disobedience in the matter\nof the Amalekites, and his arrogance in attempting to usurp Samuel's place as\npriest and prophet, the Lord rejected Saul from being king.\u00a0 <\/span>From that day, evil spirits began to plague\nSaul and he was continually tormented.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Word\nhad already spread\u00a0 <\/span>throughout the area\nthat David was a unique individual -- that something extraordinary occurred\nwhen he would pick up his harp and begin to play.\u00a0 <\/span>Saul's aides sent for David to play.\u00a0 <\/span>As David sat there in the throne room\nministering to the Lord, the <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b> of the Lord flowed\nthrough the sound of the worship going forth.\u00a0\n<\/span>The evil spirits that were plaguing Saul departed and left him in peace\n-- at least for the time being.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

David\nlearned some valuable lessons during these sessions.\u00a0 <\/span>When he became king in Israel, his first\nroyal act was to recover the Ark of the Covenant and appoint the sons of Asaph,\nHeman and Jeduthun to minister to the Lord on a twenty-four-hour-a-day basis.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

For\nthe forty years of his reign, the sound of the Lord went forth throughout the\nland.\u00a0 <\/span>David had victory over all of his\nenemies, and those who rose up against him did not stand.\u00a0 <\/span>The land and nation prospered as it had never\nprospered in its entire history.\u00a0\n<\/span>Israel's erstwhile enemies sued for peace.\u00a0 <\/span>The Egyptian Pharaoh struck a peace treaty\nwith David.\u00a0 <\/span>Hiram, who was the King of\nLebanon, became one of David's close friends.\u00a0\n<\/span>The King of Gerar, an Amorite king, struck a peace treaty with David and\ngave him his daughter for a wife.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Other\nkings of surrounding nations and regions, with whom David had not necessarily\nhad conflict, feared him and sued for peace treaties.\u00a0 <\/span>Israel had never seen anything like it.\u00a0 <\/span>David's last act as king was to expand the\nsound of the Lord in the land by appointing a much larger contingent of\nworshippers.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When\nSolomon came to the throne, he too enjoyed the peace and prosperity established\nduring his father's reign; and with another forty years of the sound of the <\/span>Lord going forth, the world feared Solomon as it had <\/span>feared David, his\nfather.\u00a0 <\/span>Israel reached the pinnacle of\nits power as it prospered abundantly.\u00a0\n<\/span>Even though David was known as a man of war, and his son, Solomon, as a\nman of peace, Solomon was more feared than David.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

It\nwas not Solomon, however, who instilled this awe from Africa to Asia.\u00a0 <\/span>It was the Sound of the Lord going forth in\nthe land, hour after hour, day after day, year after year.\u00a0 <\/span>Solomon, and Israel, prospered in an even\ngreater measure than did David.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That\npattern of the sound of the Lord been one and the same throughout all of history\n-- from the Garden of Eden to the present day.\u00a0\n<\/span>Whenever His<\/span> onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b> goes forth in prophetic sound, His\nauthority is released and His enemies, and the enemies of His people flee.\nDemons tremble at His sound.\u00a0 <\/span>Any force\nwhich stands in His way, falls to defeat and\/or destruction.\u00a0 <\/span>His sound is the most feared sound on the\nface of this earth.\u00a0 <\/span>It is also -- among\nthe nations and societies of the earth -- the most hated.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Why?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Because\nthe sound of the Lord uncovers the hiding places of all those who would seek to\ncontinue a life and lifestyle which directly opposes His Word. Because the\nsound of the Lord brings life, and exposes the efforts of a multitude of\nspirits within mankind who seek to destroy and kill.\u00a0 <\/span>Because the sound of the Lord convicts men\nand women whose lives are not in tune with Him.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nsound of the Lord is the sound of His <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b>.\u00a0 <\/span>It is the <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b> which is above\nevery <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b> -- in heaven and in earth.\u00a0 <\/span>The universe was created, and the worlds were\nformed because of His <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b>.\u00a0\n<\/span>The earth, and all that is therein, came into being because of His\nonoma.\u00a0 <\/span>It was created by Him and for\nHim.\u00a0 <\/span>His onoma creates a distinctive and\npowerful sound -- a sound which transcends every other sound in heaven and\nearth.\u00a0 <\/span>That sound incorporates His word.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When\nHis sound and His authority goes forth as prophecy through His Bride, His authoritative\nword goes forth, whether articulated as speech or\nnot.\u00a0 <\/span>When His sound goes forth, life\ngoes forth.\u00a0 <\/span>That life penetrates into\nthe recesses of death, disease and sickness, bringing health and strength.\u00a0 <\/span>That life permeates a sphere of depression\nand gloom bringing hope and joy.\u00a0 <\/span>That\nlife immerses the weak of heart and spirit, spreading faith.\u00a0 <\/span>That life speaks creatively to those who\nrespond, and destructively to those who rebel.\u00a0\n<\/span>This sound is the same whether it comes through the Lord, or His Bride\n-- His Counterpart, His Other Self.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nsound of the Lord is a river.\u00a0 <\/span>It is a\nriver which issues forth from His throne.\u00a0\n<\/span>It is both liquid and light.\u00a0 <\/span>John\nsaw that river and described it as flowing out of the Throne \u2013 the seat of His\nauthority -- having the Tree of Life in its midst, bringing healing and life to\nthe nations.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n
