Spiritual Hierarchy & Authority, Part 20<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

We need\nto backtrack a bit today and cover some ground we\u2019ve covered already, but we\u2019re\ngoing to take a slightly different tack in order to understand the dominion\nthat we have in Christ Jesus.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Revelation 22:1 - 4\nKJV:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/u><\/b>And he shewed me a pure river of the water of life,\nclear as crystal, proceeding out of the Throne of God and of the Lamb.\u00a0 <\/span>In the midst of the street of it, and on\neither side of the river, was there the Tree of Life, which bare twelve manner\nof fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were\nfor the healing of the nations.\u00a0 <\/span>And\nthere shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in\nit; and His servants shall serve Him: and they shall see His face; and His name\nshall be in their foreheads.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Jesus\nChrist, from the beginning, has sought after a Bride who would be His\ncounterpart, His co-equal: one who could be seated with Him on the Throne.\u00a0 <\/span>We have all heard many messages and prophecies\nduring the years on the subject of "being seated with Him in Heavenly\nplaces," but for most that is a somewhat nebulous concept.\u00a0 <\/span>Although we do not claim to have a complete\nunderstanding of every aspect of this truth, the Lord has been giving to us\nrevelation pertaining to the Throne.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We\nare seeing -- in a practical dimension -- how critical it has been for us to\nhave experienced this intense processing and preparation.\u00a0 <\/span>We are seeing how the Throne functions.\u00a0 <\/span>More than that, we are seeing where our Lord\nand Bridegroom, Jesus Christ, is taking us in the realm of rulership.\u00a0 <\/span>It is the unfolding of this realm that we\nwould like to share with you.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nfirst and most important aspect is the foundation of the Throne.\u00a0 <\/span>Without this most basic of understandings,\neverything pertaining to the Throne is pure theory, and lacking in any\npractical application.\u00a0 <\/span>Being\n"seated in heavenly places" is anything but a theory.\u00a0 <\/span>It is not<\/b> a metaphor, and it is not\nsome mystical or ethereal concept for the so-called "super\nspiritual."<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Some\nof the ground we\u2019re about to cover has been discussed before, but let\u2019s go over\nthis again.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Consider\nAdam and Eve in the Garden.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Genesis 2:26 - 28<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>"And God\nsaid, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion...........over\nthe fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing\nthat moveth upon the earth."<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\noperative word in this statement is, "dominion."\u00a0 <\/span>The essence of dominion is rulership: having\nand being in charge of; having active control over a region, a realm, an\narea<\/i>.\u00a0 <\/span>The Hebrew word in the\noriginal text is: <\/span>radah<\/span><\/i><\/b>;\nand it means: to prevail against, to\nsubjugate, to rule over, to tread upon, or to possess oneself of -- to take\npossession of<\/span><\/i><\/b>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Sovereign\nrule has always been a part of the very essence of the makeup and character of\nthe Lord Jesus Christ.\u00a0 <\/span>We know,\ntherefore, that we were destined from the beginning and designed for the\nThrone.\u00a0 <\/span>It was a part of the daily\noperational function of Adam and Eve -- but<\/b>, it was only functional so\nlong as they were in union and<\/b> communion with the Lord.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Within\nthe Garden, in that place of intimate relationship, Adam and Eve were clothed\nwith the glory of the Lord.\u00a0 <\/span>They were\nclothed in truth.\u00a0 <\/span>As soon as they\npartook of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, they substituted\n"Knowledge" for Truth.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Consider\nthe significance of this.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

First\nof all, we should each be aware by this time that creation began by the spoken\nword of "The Word," the Lord Jesus Christ, in a place of absolute\nagreement with the Father and the Holy Spirit.\u00a0\n<\/span>There is a phrase which occurs repeatedly during the Genesis account of\ncreation, <\/span>"And God said\u2026"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This\nphrase, inclusive with its adjoining words, has a numerical value of 8-8-8, the\ntriad of eights which represents Jesus Christ.\u00a0\n<\/span>(We talked about this a couple weeks ago.)\u00a0 <\/span>Each time we read, <\/span>"And\nGod said," <\/span>it\nwas Jesus causing an act of creation by speaking the word out of that creative\npower within His being.\u00a0 <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When\nHe created Adam and Eve, we are told that He created them <\/span>"in\nHis image," <\/span>and\nHe emphasizes this point twice in the same verse.\u00a0 <\/span>(see Genesis 1:27)\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>"...in the image\nof God created He him; male and female created He them."<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Being\n"created in His image" does not just mean that we were created with\nHis physical form or attributes.\u00a0 <\/span>It\nmeans that we were also created spirit beings with power over the physical and\nnatural realm.\u00a0 <\/span>Jesus always was, and is,\na Spirit.\u00a0 <\/span>We were first created as\nspirit.\u00a0 <\/span>Life did not come into our\nphysical form until the spirit entered.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

In\nGenesis 2:7, we are told, <\/span>"And the Lord\nGod.......breathed into his nostrils the breath of life."<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

In\nthis application, the Hebrew text uses the word, <\/span>neshamah<\/span><\/i><\/b>, <\/span><\/b>a word which\nGesenius (in his Hebrew-Chaldee Lexicon) defines as: the Spirit of God\nimparting (His) life and wisdom; that, therefore, which becomes the spirit of\nman.\u00a0 <\/span>I don't want to belabor this\npoint.\u00a0 <\/span>I just want you to see clearly\nthe single most important aspect of rulership -- the realm in which the throne\nfunctions.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Spirit\nis the preeminent and eternal realm of our existence.\u00a0 <\/span>It has precedence over the mind and soul of\nman.\u00a0 <\/span>It has precedence over the\nemotions.\u00a0 <\/span>It supersedes the flesh.\u00a0 <\/span>If we rule in any aspect at all, it is\nbecause we first take dominion in the realm of the spirit.\u00a0 <\/span>If we assert authority over principalities or\npowers, or "world rulers of darkness," it is because we have first\ndone so by agreeing in totality with the preeminence of the Lord Jesus Christ, in\nand through us<\/b>, by the Spirit.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Conversely,\nif we are ruled, it is because we are first ruled over in the realm of the\nspirit by a spirit being.\u00a0 <\/span>If we are\ntaken advantage of by evil spirits, it is because we first submit our spirits\nto the influence or control of those spirits.\u00a0\n<\/span>If we are tormented in any area of our flesh, it is because we have\nfirst provided legal ground for that torment in the realm of the spirit.\u00a0 <\/span>(I will comment further on this in just a\nmoment.)\u00a0 <\/span>Our flesh was specifically\ndesigned by the Lord as a habitation for the spirit.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

A\nquestion which I hear often posed is, "How can Christians submit to evil\nspirits and still call themselves Christians?\u00a0\n<\/span>How can a person redeemed by Christ Jesus be subject to evil\nspirits?"<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

It\nis imperative that we understand our makeup and nature.\u00a0 <\/span>We are first and foremost spirit beings.\u00a0 <\/span>Everything<\/b> -- no matter how great or\nsmall in our lives -- first begins in the realm of the spirit.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Satan\nhas been referred to as the prince of this world.\u00a0 <\/span>As such we refer to him as an <\/span>Arche<\/span><\/i><\/b>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Under\nhis command are <\/span>kosmokrator<\/span><\/i><\/b>: world rulers of darkness.\u00a0 <\/span>When an angelic messenger came to deliver the\nword of the Lord to Daniel, he mentioned that he had just been with Michael\n(the Archangel) doing battle with the Prince of Persia, and that when he left\nDaniel he would be warring against the Prince of Greece. (see Daniel 10)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

These\nare not earthly princes, but ruling demonic spirits whose assignment is\nnational or regional in scope.\u00a0 <\/span>Beyond\nthem are spirits who are assigned as "principalities and powers," and\nthose who are given the task of invading the character and makeup of mankind,\ndeceiving them into accepting lies, or distortions, or perversion as a part of\ntheir personal makeup.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Redemption\nis not the same as deliverance.\u00a0\n<\/span>Redemption merely provides the legal basis for deliverance.\u00a0 <\/span>Redemption is a legal act by Jesus Christ on\nthe cross to nullify the Serpent's enslavement of the human race through\nAdam.\u00a0 <\/span>It provides us with the legal\nmeans to be free, and to regain the place of the Crown and the Throne\noriginally delivered to Adam and Eve.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nguarantee of that Throne is not a blanket guarantee to the human race: it is an\nopportunity to "whosoever will;" and "whosoever" must\nfirst will to agree with Jesus Christ<\/u> -- not in name, not in form, not in\nritual, not in putting one's name to a piece of paper, but in Truth <\/b>--\nin Spirit<\/b> -- in reality!<\/o:p><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Deliverance\nis also a legal act, and it occurs when we exercise our legal right as members\nof the redeemed community of Jesus Christ -- in that place of agreement with\nJesus Christ<\/b> -- to take authority in the realm of the spirit over those\nspirits which have harassed us.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let\nme put it another way.\u00a0 <\/span>Rulership -- in\nthe realm of the spirit -- begins when we exercise our place of union with\nJesus Christ over other spirits -- all of whom are subject to His onoma<\/i>,\nHis character, His very makeup.\u00a0\n<\/span>Deliverance, therefore, is a natural byproduct of the rulership which\nonly comes in the place of that union.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\u2019m\nnot trying to make this a treatise on the subject of deliverance, and the\nstatements just made are not intended to suggest that deliverance is\nautomatic.\u00a0 <\/span>There is nothing automatic\nabout it.\u00a0 <\/span>Neither is it a passive\noperation.\u00a0 <\/span>At the same time, one should\nnot conclude that we need to make a big production of addressing evil spirits\nto kick them out when they have been identified.\u00a0 <\/span>Deliverance is accomplished when we take\nauthority in the <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b>\nof Jesus Christ.\u00a0 <\/span>(Not in using His name\nas some kind of religious formula.)\u00a0 <\/span>Evil\nspirits are not, and must not be, the focus of our attention.\u00a0 <\/span>Overcoming them -- at every level -- is a\nnatural process delegated to us by the Holy Spirit for the purpose of learning\nto rule.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Rulership\nin this realm begins when we<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

(1) <\/span><\/b>allow\nthe Holy Spirit to identify spirits which have plagued our lives, along with\nthe legal ground for their existence and operation in us;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

(2) <\/span><\/b>agree\nwith His revelation of their existence, recognizing that His revelation comes\nfor the purpose of both setting us free, and extending the realm of His\nauthority in us; and<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

(3) <\/span><\/b>act\nin obedience to that revelation to assert the authority He has given.\u00a0 <\/span>With each successive revelation and\ndeliverance, true dominion is extended in our lives.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let\u2019s\nreturn now to our review of Adam and Eve in the Garden.\u00a0 <\/span>They had complete dominion over the earth,\nand all that was therein because <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

(1) <\/span><\/b>they\nhad been created and imbued with rulership as a natural function;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

(2) <\/span><\/b>they\nwere in a place of total intimacy and communion with the Lord;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

(3) <\/span><\/b>their\nspirits, their minds, and their wills were in perfect agreement with Him; and<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

(4) <\/span><\/b>they\nwere clothed in Truth!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Jesus\nmade an incredible statement to Thomas at the Last Supper.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

John 14:6:<\/span><\/u><\/b>\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>I\nam the Way, the Truth, and the Life.\u00a0 <\/span>No\nman cometh unto the Father, but by me.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

His\nwhole <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span><\/i>exhibited Truth.\u00a0\n<\/span>It was impossible for Him to represent anything other than Truth.\u00a0 <\/span>In his epistle to the Hebrews, Paul says the\nfollowing:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Hebrews 6:17-18 NASB<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b>\u201c<\/span><\/b>In\nthe same way God, desiring even more to show to the heirs of the promise the\nunchangeableness of His purpose, interposed with an oath, in order that by two\nunchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie<\/u>, we may\nhave strong encouragement ....."<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let\nme repeat some principles that you\u2019ve heard me share in the past.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Truth <\/span><\/b>is not a collection\nof facts.\u00a0 <\/span>And yet it can be.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Truth<\/span><\/b> is neither the\nreciting of history, nor a compilation of events which have occurred.\u00a0 <\/span>And yet it can be.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Truth <\/span><\/b>is not the quoting\nof scriptures.\u00a0 <\/span>And yet it can be.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Facts.\u00a0\n<\/span>History.\u00a0 <\/span>Scriptures.\u00a0 <\/span>They can all be a portion of truth, but in\nand of themselves, they are not<\/b> -- by any stretch of the imagination --\ntruth.<\/o:p><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Facts can be twisted by The Spirit of Error\nand become a lie.\u00a0 <\/span>History can be\ndistorted -- and often is -- so that historical facts are taken out of context\nto present a false picture.\u00a0 <\/span>Personal\nexperience, left to stand on its own, can bring wrong conclusions.\u00a0 <\/span>Scriptures can be quoted to support virtually\nany stance one desires to take.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Truth<\/span><\/b>, therefore, is not\njust facts, history, personal experience, or scriptures.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Truth<\/span><\/b> -- the genuine\narticle -- can only come by the Spirit of Truth, which is one of the seven\nSpirits of God.\u00a0 <\/span>The Spirit of Truth\ntakes facts, takes history, takes events which have occurred -- either in our\nlives, or in the lives of others -- or, takes verses of scripture and applies\nthem in a manner which brings life.\u00a0 <\/span>The\nSpirit of Truth takes that life and transmits it into the core of our beings.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Truth<\/span><\/b> -- the very\nessence of Jesus' <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b>\n-- is that which He was clothed in.\u00a0 <\/span>It\nwas the life which went forth when He spoke the worlds into existence.\u00a0 <\/span>It was the spirit which went forth when He\nbreathed into man the breath of life.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n
