Spiritual Hierarchy & Authority, Part 22<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We left off last week talking about\nthe problem that takes place when we exchange revelation for humanly acquired\nknowledge.\u00a0 <\/span>The only real authority is\nthat which comes in the place of our relationship with the Lord Jesus\nChrist.\u00a0 <\/span>The corollary to that is that\nembodied in our relationship with the Lord is the fact that we live by the\nrevelation that comes in the place of that relationship.\u00a0 <\/span>During the next couple weeks I want to talk\nabout the ruling and the authority that comes through worship.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

When\nwe begin to operate out of our own wisdom and understanding, invariably we get\nahead of God and mess things up royally.\u00a0\n<\/span>Our word doesn\u2019t accomplish what it was intended to, and our authority\nis diminished, if not eliminated.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let\nme be clear.\u00a0 <\/span>I\u2019m not suggesting that we\nlose all authority.\u00a0 <\/span>We do, however, lose\nit in any place where we try to operate out of our own \u201cwisdom\u201d and\nunderstanding instead of waiting on the Lord to see what He wants us to do or\nsay, or where He wants us to go, depending on the circumstances at hand.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Because\nthe Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil became the focal point for the loss\nof relationship with the Lord, it must, of necessity, also be the focal point\nat which that relationship was returned.\u00a0\n<\/span>When Jesus' ministry began, therefore, John the Baptist prophesied the\nfollowing of Jesus:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Matthew 3:10:<\/span><\/u><\/b>\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>And now also the axe\nis laid unto the root of the tree.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

In\nso prophesying, he made it clear that Jesus' purpose was to cut down the Tree\nof Knowledge, and sever it at the root.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Because\nof the enormous significance of the Tree, and the fact that it caused the death\nand downfall of this species of beings specifically created for fellowship with\nthe Lord, He chose to lay the axe in such a demonstrable action as would\nclearly illustrate for all time his love and desire for His Bride.\u00a0 <\/span>In previous discussions, we\u2019ve talked about the\nplan set in motion even before the words were spoken, <\/span>"Let\nthere be light."<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>We talked about the legal significance of\nJesus' acts, and how each step represented the gathering together of every\naspect of the Serpent's control over the human race.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Consider\nthese aspects.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Adam\nand Eve ate of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, and thus were separated\n(evicted, actually) from the Garden, and from their place of intimate\nrelationship with the Lord.\u00a0 <\/span>That removal\ncondemned their seed to being perpetually infected with the "Knowledge\nVirus," and with it, the death incorporated into its very essence.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Until\nJesus' birth, no human being on the face of the earth had ever been born who\nwas not infected.\u00a0 <\/span>Jesus, by virtue of\nHis spiritual genetics, although He was born of a woman, did not carry in His\nflesh the proclivity for "knowledge."<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Being\nborn of a woman qualified Him as a genuine member of the human race.\u00a0 <\/span>Having the genesis of the Holy Spirit in His\nDNA, He also had -- in His human form -- all of the qualities of His Throne in\nthe Heavenlies, and the rulership and authority which went with that place of\ndominion.\u00a0 <\/span>It was imperative -- for the\nsake of His Bride-to-be -- that this dominion be worked in His being as a\nhuman.\u00a0 <\/span>It was critical and necessary\nthat He put down the knowledge of good, and the knowledge of evil, and that He\nrule over the tendency of the flesh to be lured by the lust for knowledge.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

He\nmust of necessity squash "under His feet" human reasoning and\nrationale by responding only to the dictates of His Father.\u00a0 <\/span>And He did!\u00a0\n<\/span>Jesus could therefore freely state the following.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

John 8:28-29<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span><\/span>I\ndo nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these\nthings.\u00a0 <\/span>And He that sent me is with me:\nthe Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please\nHim.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This\nword, "please," is of great significance in the Greek text.\u00a0 <\/span>The word used here is: <\/span>arestos<\/span><\/i><\/b>.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>We define <\/span>arestos<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span><\/i>(which comes from\nthe root word, <\/span>aresko<\/span><\/i><\/b>) <\/span>as\nmuch more than just to please.\u00a0 <\/span>It means:\n<\/span>to be in agreement with; to accommodate one's self to the\nopinions, desires, and interests of (the intended individual).<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

Hence,\n"to please" is not to merely acquiesce to someone's wishes and\ndesires -- even if you don't necessarily completely agree.\u00a0 <\/span>Arestos<\/span><\/i><\/b>\nis to be in a place of complete unity and agreement, and to therefore\n"please," or "bring pleasure," through the active\nfulfillment of those opinions, desires and interests.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Being\nin that place of complete unity and agreement with the Father meant that He was\nin complete agreement with the Throne of the Universe, and was therefore acting\non its behalf.\u00a0 <\/span>As a result, He could\nwalk and talk -- in human form -- and at the same time function from the\nThrone, ruling, and overruling the flesh, the emotions, the lust for the\nknowledge of good and evil, that old serpent Satan, and every evil spirit\npitted against Him.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Jesus\nwalked as the personification of perfect agreement, perfect <\/span>sumphoneo<\/span><\/i><\/b> -- perfect accord <\/span><\/b>-- with the Father, and with\nthe Holy Spirit, Who would shortly come to fulfill His bidding in the preparation\nof His long awaited Bride.\u00a0 <\/span>How did He do\nthis?\u00a0 <\/span>It was simple!\u00a0 <\/span>Though He walked in human flesh, He lived<\/i>\nin the realm of the Spirit.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That\nunion, that accord, that agreement -- that place of demonstrated authority --\nall existed because He lived<\/i> in the realm of the Spirit.\u00a0 <\/span>Let me explain.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When\nJesus visited that day with the Samaritan woman at the well, and she began to\ntalk about worship, relating to worship in a physical sense with physical acts\nin a geographical place, Jesus stopped her with the statement:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

John 4:22-24, NASB:<\/span><\/u><\/b> <\/span>You\nworship that which you do not know ............. But an hour is coming, and\nnow is<\/u>, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and\ntruth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. \u00a0<\/span>God is a spirit, and those who worship Him\nmust worship Him in spirit and truth.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\npoint He makes is that worship is neither a physical act, nor a function in a\nphysical or geographical place.\u00a0 <\/span>Worship\nis not the doing of things<\/i>.\u00a0\n<\/span>Worship is not something which occurs in a church or a synagogue.\u00a0 <\/span>Worship is not even the doing of things which\nplease the Father.\u00a0 <\/span>Although true worship\nwill certainly result in our doing things which please Him, it is a place of\nunion, a place of intimate love in the Spirit<\/i><\/b>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Again,\nwithout belaboring the point, Jesus went beyond just saying that those who\nworship God must worship Him in spirit.\u00a0\n<\/span>He added the phrase, <\/span>"and in truth."\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>In so doing, He pointed back once again to that place\nwhere Adam and Eve had once lived in the Garden.\u00a0 <\/span>So long as they were clothed in the\nabsoluteness of the <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span><\/i>of the Lord, so long as they lived enveloped in that\nplace of Truth -- that place where His Word, His <\/span>Rhema<\/span><\/i><\/b>, His revelation (they are all\none and the same) formed the very essence of their existence -- His throne was\noperational in and through them.\u00a0 <\/span>They\nlived worship.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Jesus\nwas saying to the woman of Samaria that relationship with the Lord, that\nworship, that intimacy with Him has nothing whatever to do with human\nreasoning, thought processes, or the knowledge of good or evil.\u00a0 <\/span>He was saying that "worship" and\n"knowledge" are not compatible.\u00a0\n<\/span>Everything which occurs outside the realm of the Spirit functions in the\n<\/span>place\nof intellect, reasoning and knowledge.\u00a0\n<\/span>Worship -- which can only occur in the Spirit -- must be in Truth.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

As\npreviously noted, Truth vanishes with knowledge, whether it be the\n"knowledge of good," or the "knowledge of evil."\u00a0 <\/span>If Truth disappears, the Throne goes with it,\nalong with all the authority and power of the Throne.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Worship,\ntherefore, "in Truth," needs no help.\u00a0\n<\/span>Worship in the Spirit, and in Truth, is the sum and substance -- the\ntotality, if you will -- of being One with the Lord Jesus Christ, with the\nFather, with the Holy Spirit.\u00a0 <\/span>To worship\n"in Truth" is to worship in the totality of Jesus' onoma<\/i> --\nthe very essence of His being.\u00a0 <\/span>He is\nthat Truth!<\/o:p><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Now\nlet\u2019s return to the discussion on the necessity of Jesus taking the <\/span>"axe\nto the root of the tree." <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>It was the Tree of\nthe Knowledge of Good and Evil which divided His created-to-be Bride from union\nand fellowship with Him.\u00a0 <\/span>The Plan, to\nwhich we have referred earlier, incorporated the necessity of destroying the\nlife and power of that tree so that it would no longer infect and destroy His\nchosen and called out people.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We\u2019ve\ntalked about this many times in the past (and I continue to emphasize the\nfact).\u00a0 <\/span>The power of the Tree of the\nKnowledge of Good and Evil was death.\u00a0 <\/span>It\nbrought a reign of terror upon mankind because that knowledge brought the three\nfamilies of Fear: namely, (1) <\/span><\/b>The\nFear of Evil; (2) <\/span><\/b>The Fear of Man;\nand (3) <\/span><\/b>The Fear of Death.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nFear of Evil attacked men and women at the level of their spirit\nexistence.\u00a0 <\/span>The Fear of Man attacked them\nin the realm of their relationships with one another -- their soul, their\nminds, their emotions, their will.\u00a0 <\/span>The\nFear of Death attacked them in their flesh, creating one disease after another,\nand causing mankind to react to anything which threatened their well-being.\u00a0 <\/span>Those families of fear robbed men and women\nof true power and authority, keeping them in subjugation to the wiles of Satan.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\n"Knowledge of Good" brought pride, arrogance, rebellion, and -- most\nof all -- religion,<\/b> as a substitute for love and intimate relationship\nwith the Lord.\u00a0 <\/span>It brought the\n"doing of good works," of "ministry," as a substitute for\njust being with and in Him.\u00a0 <\/span>It created\nthe need to be busy "serving the needs of mankind," and in so doing,\ncheated them out of the intimacy of pure worship.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\n"Knowledge of Good" counterfeited the joy of being One with Jesus\nChrist by making individuals feel "good" and "useful to\nsociety."\u00a0 <\/span>By giving individuals a\nsense of "self-accomplishment," it substituted that feeling for the\ntrue joy which comes in His presence, robbing them of seeing and experiencing\nHis provision, His ministry, His service to His Bride.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nTree of Knowledge had to be severed at its roots, and Jesus did so in\nstyle.\u00a0 <\/span>Throughout His earthly life, and\nthe three and-a-half years of His ministry, Jesus ruled constantly over every\neffort of Satan to threaten or deceive Him into submission.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Knowing\nin advance that Satan would give up trying to bring Him under his control, and\ncreate a conspiracy to kill Him, He had established centuries and millennia\nbefore the picture of the lamb being offered as a sacrifice.\u00a0 <\/span>That picture began only a few years after\nAdam and Eve exited the Garden, and their son, Abel offered up the sacrifice of\nhis firstling lambs unto the Lord -- a sacrifice which pleased the Lord.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

It\ncontinued throughout the centuries to the time when Abraham, as a picture of\nThe Father, went to the top of Mount Moriah to offer up Isaac -- who was a\nforerunner of The Son -- in obedience to the Lord's command.\u00a0 <\/span>In this case, the Angel of the Lord stayed\nAbraham's hand and provided the ram in the thicket.\u00a0 <\/span>When the Law was given through Moses, the\nlamb became the symbol for Israel of that which was to come in Christ Jesus,\nbecoming the offering and sacrifice for sin.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

While\nstill in His place in the Heavenlies, Jesus had possessed the Crown and Throne\nof the Universe.\u00a0 <\/span>He had functionally\ngiven up that place in order to come to redeem His Bride.\u00a0 <\/span>Now the time of redemption had come, and Jesus\nwas going to take His Crown -- as the Lamb!<\/b>\u00a0 <\/span>With Satan's conspiracy in full bloom, Judas\nbetrayed Jesus to the Pharisees and Sadducees, who had Him tried and convicted\nin Pilate's court, and sentenced to die on a cross.\u00a0 <\/span>Both Peter and Paul recognized that cross as the\n<\/i><\/b>tree, and referred to it as such on numerous occasions in their\nepistles.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Jesus\ntherefore went willingly to the sacrifice as The Lamb, to be offered up on the\nTree.\u00a0 <\/span>That Tree had been responsible for\nthe death and separation of His Bride-to-be from His intended union with her.\u00a0 <\/span>So He went to the Tree to be offered up, in\norder to redeem His Bride from the power of that Tree.\u00a0 <\/span>And He did it by rising from the dead on the\nthird day.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nparallels here are so striking as to astound any observant person.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Adam and Eve died on the third day<\/span><\/u><\/b>,<\/span> as a result of\nhaving eaten of the Tree of Knowledge.\u00a0\n<\/span>Consider for a moment the illustration that Peter gives us in his second\nletter to the Ekklesia at large:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

II Peter 3:8<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>But, beloved, be not\nignorant of this one thing, that a thousand years with the Lord is as a day,\nand a day is as a thousand years.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Adam\nand Eve were created at the beginning of the Sixth day of Creation.\u00a0 <\/span>They lived with Him in the Garden on the\nSixth and Seventh days (or two thousand years.)\u00a0\n<\/span>On the Eighth day, they partook of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and\nEvil.\u00a0 <\/span>The Lord had said to them, <\/span>"In\nthe day that you eat from it, you shall surely die," <\/span>and so they did --\n950 years later -- within the third thousand-year day.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Jesus died on the Tree, and then rose\nfrom the dead on the third day<\/span><\/u><\/b>.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b>In so doing, He nullified the life and\npower of the Tree, laying the axe to its root.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Adam and Eve lost their crown and their\ndominion with the Tree of Knowledge<\/span><\/u><\/b>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

Jesus regained that Crown with His death\non the Tree<\/span><\/u><\/b>, <\/span><\/b>and\nsubsequent resurrection, making it available once again for all of the\ndescendants of Adam and Eve who would become One with Him.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This is a long list, and I think I will stop here and finish this\npart next week.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n
