Resurrection From the Dead, Part 6<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

And away we go for today.\u00a0\n<\/span>There is a lot of territory to cover, so let\u2019s get started.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Hebrews 4:15-16<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b>For we have not an\nhigh priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but\nwas in all points tempted like as we are, yet<\/i> without sin. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>Let us therefore come\nboldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help\nin time of need.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Because\nwe are applying this scripture a bit differently than we might normally use it,\nI need to amplify this from the Greek so that you can see its application to\nResurrection Life.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We do not have a high priest who is impervious to the testings,\nthe trials or the proofs of our behavior in the face of feebleness, moral\nfrailty or weakness; [Jesus] experienced all manner of trial and the need to\novercome every failure and weakness of the flesh, thoughts and emotions, and He\nnever failed to rise above it all, nor missed the mark.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

As a consequence, we can come with all assurance and bluntness\nunto the Throne of Grace \u2014 that Throne which empowers us to rise above and\novercome every weakness and failure \u2014 so that we may obtain compassion and\nreceive the empowerment needed to rise above and overcome every weakness or\nfailure<\/span>. <\/span>(Hebrews\n4:15-16, RAC Translation & Amplification)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Are\nyou seeing the application?\u00a0 <\/span>Good!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Before\nwe continue, let\u2019s take this word, Resurrection, and dissect it for a\nminute.\u00a0 <\/span>Its root is \u201cto resurrect, to\nbring back to life, to restore to normal living.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>The New Testament Greek term is <\/span>anastasis<\/span><\/i><\/b>.\u00a0 <\/span>This is a compound word which has a fistful of\napplications.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nfirst is: <\/span>to cause to rise up, to raise up<\/span><\/i>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Then\nyou have the following: <\/span>to raise up from laying down; to raise up from\nthe dead; to cause to be born, to cause to appear, to bring forward.<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

From\nthere we have: <\/span>of those who leave a place to go elsewhere; of those who prepare\nthemselves for a journey.<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Thayer\nadds the following: <\/span>to appear; to stand forth; of kings, prophets, priests, leaders\nof insurgents.<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

He\nfinishes with: <\/span>the resurrection of certain ones\u2019 history who were restored to\nlife. <\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

And\nI\u2019ve only scratched the surface of meanings.\u00a0\n<\/span>We generally tend to apply this word only with resurrection from the\ndead, but as you can see, it has so many applications, we have to stop and\nconsider its usage in our walk in Resurrection Life.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Jesus\nwas faced with every kind of weakness \u2014 whether physical, mental or emotional \u2014\nthat we face.\u00a0 <\/span>Every issue that He\nencountered, which could have been death to His physical being, thoughts or\nemotions, He overcame and rose above.\u00a0\n<\/span>Jesus lived and walked Resurrection Life.\u00a0 <\/span>In His 33-year (approximate) lifespan, even\nbefore His baptisms and recognition by Father, He lived a normal (by human\nstandards) life.\u00a0 <\/span>He was a carpenter, a\nbusinessman and a man who lived in and among society with all its foibles and\nshortcomings.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Once\nJesus was announced by Father as His Son and began to walk in a supernatural\ndimension, the attacks, the tests and the trials only magnified.\u00a0 <\/span>The Greek word used in Hebrews 4 which is\ntranslated in the KJV as \u201ctempted\u201d is the word, <\/span>peirazo<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This\nword has a broad scope of applications for \u201ctesting\u201d but J.H. Thayer tells us\nthat one of its uses is defined like this: <\/span>in a bad sense, to test one\nmaliciously, craftily to put to the proof his feelings or judgments.<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n

Jesus\nwas absolutely tested in this way by the Scribes and Pharisees.\u00a0 <\/span>They wanted to undo His authority.\u00a0 <\/span>They wanted to try to prove that He really\nwasn\u2019t the Son of God.\u00a0 <\/span>They did\neverything in their power to destroy Him, and Jesus overcame their\nmaliciousness and craftiness.\u00a0 <\/span>It was all\npart of the Resurrection preparation.\u00a0 <\/span>He\nhad to walk this overcoming.\u00a0 <\/span>He had to\nlive it in front of the world.\u00a0 <\/span>He had to\nlive it in such a way that it became life to the Disciples.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Della\nand I were having this discussion earlier and talking about those folks who\u2019ve\nsaid to us, \u201cWell, are you saying that Jesus experienced the pain of\ndivorce?\u00a0 <\/span>Are you saying that Jesus knew\nwhat it was like to have someone walk away from Him and cut Him off from their\nlife?\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nanswer is, Absolutely! \u00a0<\/span>Of course, Jesus\nwas never married in the way we think of marriage \u2014 not in this life, anyway \u2014\nand never went through divorce, but He certainly experienced the same kind of\npain and emotional upheaval that people go through with divorce.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let\u2019s\ngo back to the prophecy of Isaiah.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

He is disdained and scorned, and considered as having ceased to\nexist by men: a man of anguish and pain, and has known grief by seeing and\nexperiencing it; and we hid as it were our faces from Him; He was disdained and\nscorned, and we maliciously fabricated, invented and treated His suffering and\ndeath as void.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Surely He has suffered and accepted as His own our maladies, our\nanxieties, our calamities, our disease and sicknesses, and carried our anguish,\npain and grief: yet we fabricated and maliciously invented His being stricken\nviolently, beaten, punished, wounded and slaughtered as if by God -- choosing\nto believe that God browbeat, demeaned and looked down upon Him.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

But He was broken and profaned for our rebellion, our revolt,\nour apostasy and our [religious] quarrel against God; He was crushed, oppressed\nand smitten, and (emotionally) broken into pieces for our perversity, our evil,\nour mischief, sins and faults; the breaking and ridiculing of our peace, our\nwelfare, our prosperity, our health and our safety was upon Him; and with His\nbloodied and blue wounds we are cured, mended, repaired and made thoroughly\nwhole.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>(Isaiah 53:3-5, RAC Translation\n& Amplification)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\nwas awakened at 2:00 AM this morning by the Holy Spirit.\u00a0 <\/span>He quoted to me the statements by Paul in\nHebrews 4:15-16, and reminded me of Isaiah\u2019s prophecy.\u00a0 <\/span>Then He said to me, \u201cThere is NOTHING\nyou have experienced, or will experience, that Jesus did not experience!\u00a0 <\/span>That\u2019s why you have the Throne of Empowerment\nset before you.\u00a0 <\/span>No matter what you go\nthrough, no matter what your place of potential failure \u2014 or real failure \u2014\nmight be, you can come with absolute assurance and conviction that you will\nreceive the ability to rise above and overcome.\u201d<\/o:p><\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Consider\nwhat Paul writes to the Ephesians:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Ephesians 3:17-19, AMP<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>May Christ through\nyour faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in\nyour hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love,<\/span> <\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/p>\n\n

That you may have the\npower and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God\u2019s devoted\npeople, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height\nand depth [of it]; <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

[That you may really\ncome] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of\nChrist, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may\nbe filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the\nrichest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and\nflooded with God Himself]!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let\u2019s\ntake it the next step:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/u><\/b><\/p>\n\n

Ephesians\n2:8<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>\u201cFor\nit is through the direct influence, (grace) empowering and drawing of Holy\nSpirit that you are saved, healed, delivered, made whole, protected and made to\nprosper, through and by means of faith, and that faith doesn\u2019t come because you\nwilled it or made a decision in your mind <\/span>(<\/span>humon<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span><\/a>):<\/span>\nit is the sacrificial gift \u2014 a present \u2014 of and from Father, Son and Holy\nSpirit.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>(RAC Translation & Amplification)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

John\n1:12-13:<\/span><\/u><\/b>\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>But as many as\nbelieved in and responded to Him, to them He gave the authority and ability to\nbecome \u2013 and be transformed into \u2013 begotten children of God, specifically to\nthose who entrust their future existence and well-being by faith in His name,\nrank, position, character, personality and being; <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Who were begotten, not of flesh and blood, nor because human\nflesh determined it by its own decision, nor because the mind and intellect of\nman seized upon it and willed it into existence, but by God as a sovereign act\nof His Will and determination.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>(RAC Translation\n& Amplification)<\/o:p><\/span><\/u><\/p>\n\n

 <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/u><\/p>\n\n

THAT,\nfolks, is the power of Resurrection Life.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let\nme take you down a bit of a rabbit trail for a few minutes and talk about the\nculture of death that we live in.\u00a0 <\/span>We are\nso contaminated by the death mindset that reversing that overcoming its\ntentacles in our lives takes a miracle only the Lord can accomplish in us.\u00a0 <\/span>It has to begin with our agreement with Him,\nwith what He has done for us, and his Word becoming our flesh.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Think\nabout this for a minute.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We\nwork on changing the confession of our mouths.\u00a0\n<\/span>We think we are making progress, but it is our actions which are\ntell-tale.\u00a0 <\/span>We gamble with our health and\nwe gamble with our lives.\u00a0 <\/span>How, you\nask?\u00a0 <\/span>By buying life insurance and health\ninsurance.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\nknow.\u00a0 <\/span>The next question is, So where is\nthe gambling?\u00a0 <\/span>Look at it this way.\u00a0 <\/span>The insurance company is gambling that you\nare going to live a good, healthy life.\u00a0\n<\/span>You are gambling that you are not, and so you pay them money.\u00a0 <\/span>The insurance company is making money off\nyour doubt, fear and unbelief.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nsame applies to life insurance.\u00a0 <\/span>The\ninsurance company is gambling that you are going to live a long and productive\nlife.\u00a0 <\/span>You are gambling that you are\ngoing to die, and you pay them good money because of it.\u00a0 <\/span>Again, the insurance company is making money\noff your fear, doubt and unbelief.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Think\nI\u2019m nuts?\u00a0 <\/span>Think I\u2019ve gone off the deep\nend?\u00a0 <\/span>That\u2019s OK.\u00a0 <\/span>Once you start digging into the actual\npractices of our lives, you soon discover we are so impregnated with the Fear\nof Death that it is woven into the core of our beings.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Allow\nme to digress for a minute and share with you some personal experiences from\nthe past few weeks.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Most\nof you know that I had a bout with the flu and pneumonia during the\nChristmas\/New Years<\/span> holiday and was hospitalized for\na week.\u00a0 <\/span>In the weeks that have followed,\nI\u2019ve had many follow-up visits to the doctors and clinics.\u00a0 <\/span>One of the doctors is a cardiologist who is a\nprofessing Christian (I wouldn\u2019t be surprised if they all were, but this one is\nquite outspoken) and she is from Nigeria.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

One\nof the blood tests run in the lab indicated that my potassium levels had spiked\nto what they considered a critically dangerous level, and this doctor called\nand insisted that I check into the ER, where they kept me for the better part\nof two more days to flush the potassium from my body.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

None\nof it made sense to me since not three days prior I had gone through a bio-scan\n(called an Oligo Scan) which showed my potassium levels on the low end of\nnormal.\u00a0 <\/span>Some research determined that\none of the doctors had prescribed a wrong combination of meds which caused the\nreaction in my liver and caused the spike.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\u2019ve\nnever been a fan of the medical profession in general, and this experience did\nnothing to improve that impression.\u00a0\n<\/span>Della and I have spent most of our lives avoiding things pharmaceutical\nand relying instead on natural supplements.\u00a0\n<\/span>While I have been faithful to take the meds prescribed by the doctors,\nit is also clear that I get much better results from natural supplements.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

In\nthis instance, in a conversation with the cardiologist, the subject of natural\nsupplements came up, Della showed the doctor the list of supplements we are\ntaking.\u00a0 <\/span>She became angry and flipped the\npage back to Della with a snort and a comment about \u201cbad science.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>It became clear that all of her medical\neducation was predicated on the efficacy of the pharmaceuticals with zero\ntolerance for natural supplements based on what God created for us in the first\nplace.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

It\nwas a reminder that much (although not all) of the medical profession relies on\n\u201ctreatments\u201d \u2014 NOT cures.\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cHealing\u201d and\n\u201cwholeness\u201d are not words you will hear very often from doctors and nurses.\u00a0 <\/span>They are programmed by the pharmaceutical\nindustry to think \u201ctreatment\u201d but not \u201ccure.\u201d\u00a0\n<\/span>This way, they create a dependency on the profession and on the\nindustry, relying on the Fear of Death, which so permeates the human frame, to\nfill their financial coffers.\u00a0 <\/span>If we are\nto live Resurrection life, we have to destroy the mindset that operates in\nfear, doubt and unbelief \u2014 and Jesus has made that available to us!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

You\u2019ll\nexcuse me if I get or sound very opinionated on this topic, but that comes from\nwalking and living in the realm of the Spirit and seeing how our Resurrection\nlife in Christ Jesus actually works.\u00a0 <\/span>See\nyou next week.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n
