Resurrection From the Dead, Part 11<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

September 7, 2018<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

For those of you\nwho\u2019ve been with me from the beginning, you know that throughout the past\n14-plus years of publishing this column, we\u2019ve talked about the meaning and\nsignificance of the Greek word,<\/span><\/b> onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b>, on numerous occasions.\u00a0 <\/span>This is an important piece of understanding.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

The Greek, <\/span><\/b>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b>, parallels the Hebrew, <\/span><\/b>shem<\/span><\/i><\/b>.\u00a0 <\/span>This isn\u2019t just\none\u2019s Name; this is their character reference.\u00a0\n<\/span>This is who they are.\u00a0 <\/span>This is\nwhat they are.\u00a0 <\/span>Names were never given\nrandomly.\u00a0 <\/span>One\u2019s name, given at birth,\nbecame a prophecy of who and what they were and would become.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

Think, for a minute,\nabout the significance of God changing Abram\u2019s name to Abraham, or Sarai\u2019s name\nto Sarah.\u00a0 <\/span>How about the change of Saul\u2019s\nname to Paul?<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

The\nrevelation of this is that whenever we ask anything of the Father in the name\nof Jesus, we are asking the Father just as if Jesus were doing it.\u00a0 <\/span>If He is in us, then Jesus is making the\nrequest.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This\nis how the <\/span><\/b><\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b> of the Lord works\nin us, through us, with us, around us.\u00a0\n<\/span>His <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span><\/i>is His character, His makeup, the very\nessence of who He is!\u00a0 <\/span>With His <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span><\/b>comes His\nauthority, His power \u2014 AND \u2014 His relationship with the Father.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Pretty\nsimple isn\u2019t it?\u00a0 <\/span>We\u2019ve so complicated\nthis that we\u2019ve lost sight of who and what Jesus is in us.\u00a0 <\/span>It isn\u2019t just Him!\u00a0 <\/span>It is the Father, as well.\u00a0 <\/span>John describes it like this:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I John 2:24-29 (NASB)<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b>As for you, let that abide in\nyou which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning\nabides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father.\u00a0 <\/span>This is the promise which He Himself made to\nus: eternal life. These things I have written to you concerning those who are\ntrying to deceive you.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in\nyou, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches\nyou about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught\nyou, you abide in Him.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Now, little children, abide in Him, so that when He appears, we\nmay have confidence and not shrink away from Him in shame at His coming.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/p>\n\n

If\nyou know that He is righteous, you know that everyone also who practices\nrighteousness is born of Him.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This\nis how we receive revelation.\u00a0 <\/span>Jesus had\nsaid that if He left He would send another \u201ccomforter\u201d \u2014 the Paraklete \u2014 the\nHoly Spirit.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Now,\nput all that together and what do you have?\u00a0\n<\/span>We live in Jesus Christ.\u00a0 <\/span>We live\nbecause of His sacrifice.\u00a0 <\/span>We live\nbecause we eat and drink of Him.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

But\nthere\u2019s more!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Because\nwe eat and drink of Jesus, we also eat and drink of the Father.\u00a0 <\/span>Therefore, the But still there\u2019s more!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Jesus\nhad said He was sending the Holy Spirit.\u00a0\n<\/span>Here\u2019s how He put it:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

John 14:16-21<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b>And I will pray the Father,\nand he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever<\/u>;\nEven<\/i> the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it\nseeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with\nyou, and shall be in you<\/u>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Yet a\nlittle while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye\nshall live also. At that day ye shall know that I am<\/i> in my Father, and\nye in me, and I in you<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>He\nthat hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he\nthat loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will\nmanifest myself to him.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Jesus\nwas saying that despite the fact that He was departing from the earth in\nphysical form, He was still in us, and so was the Father.\u00a0 <\/span>But more than that, He was sending the Holy\nSpirit to be with us.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

And\nstill there was more!\u00a0 <\/span>Jesus promised\nthat He \u2014 the Holy Spirit \u2014 would also be in us!\u00a0 <\/span>This is why He said to the disciples,<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry\nye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\n\u201cpower from on high\u201d was the Holy Spirit \u2014 the force that energized the life\nand Word of Jesus Christ \u2014 and the Father \u2014 in us.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When\nJohn began His Gospel, he wrote,<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

John 1:1-4, 12-14<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b>In the beginning was the\nWord, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the\nbeginning with God. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>All\nthings were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>In him was life; and the life\nwas the light of men.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

But as many as received him, to them gave He<\/span>\npower to become the sons of God, even<\/i> to them that believe on his name:\nWhich were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of\nman, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we\nbeheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of\ngrace and truth.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Jesus\nwas the Word made flesh.\u00a0 <\/span>We become the\nWord made flesh when we confess with our mouths the Lord Jesus Christ.\u00a0 <\/span>We become the Word made flesh when we \u2014 with\nChrist in us \u2014 speak the Word that He spoke, and speak it in agreement with Him\nand the Father.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nHoly Spirit \u2014 dwelling with us and in us \u2014 energizes and empowers that Word so\nthat it has the same creative force that it had when Jesus spoke it.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

What\nneeds we have, we ask the Father for in the onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b>\nof Jesus.\u00a0 <\/span>The Father \u2014 in Jesus \u2014 enacts\nthose needs for us by means of the Holy Spirit who is both with us and in us.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Are\nyou beginning to grasp this picture?\u00a0 <\/span>Are\nyou getting the significance of \u201cChrist in us, the hope of Glory\u201d?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\napostle Paul expressed it like this when he was writing to the Ekklesia in\nColosse:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Colossians 1:26-27<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b>Even<\/span><\/i> the\nmystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made\nmanifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is<\/i> the riches\nof the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the\nhope of glory:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This\nis a revelation \u2014 the concept of Christ in us.\u00a0\n<\/span>With that revelation comes the understanding that it is not only Jesus,\nthe Son with His anointing, but it is the Father in us as well.\u00a0 <\/span>More than that, we have the Holy Spirit\ndwelling in us, filling us and permeating us with God\u2019s presence!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 With\nThe Holy Spirit indwelling us as the power-generating force that gives life to\nthe Word (who is Jesus), we become Jesus to the world around us.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nlight that radiated from Him was that same light that exploded into being when\nHe spoke those first words of Creation, \u201cLight be!\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>That\u2019s the light that dwells in us when we\nare in the Anointed One and His anointing \u2014 and He is in us!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

John 8:12<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b>Then spake Jesus again\nunto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not\nwalk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

John 9:4-5<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b>I must work the works\nof him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.\nAs long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

And\nJesus commanded us to duplicate that by being in Him.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Matthew 5:14-16<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b>Ye\nare the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.\nNeither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick;\nand it giveth light unto all that are in the house.\u00a0 <\/span>Let your light so shine before men, that they\nmay see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nparallel that Jesus is drawing in this statement is that He didn\u2019t light us up\nwith His presence just to stick us under a bushel and hide us from the rest of\nthe world.\u00a0 <\/span>He illuminated us with\nHimself so that the Father would receive the Glory.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Matthew 10:7-8<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b>And as ye go, preach,\nsaying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers,\nraise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We\nhaven\u2019t become Jesus to the world to do anything less than Jesus did.\u00a0 <\/span>He healed the sick.\u00a0 <\/span>He raised the dead.\u00a0 <\/span>He cleansed the lepers.\u00a0 <\/span>He cast out evil spirits with His Word.\u00a0 <\/span>He broke the chains that held people\ncaptive.\u00a0 <\/span>He restored crushed spirits.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

And\nall of the power and authority to accomplish everything that Jesus did has been\ninvested in us.\u00a0 <\/span>That\u2019s why Jesus made a\npoint of stating that ALL authority was His, and His to dispense.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Matthew 28:18-20<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b>And Jesus came and spake unto\nthem, saying, All power (exousia<\/i>\u2014authority) is given unto me in heaven\nand in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the\nname of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to\nobserve all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you\nalway, even<\/i> unto the end of the world.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Amen.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

ALL\nPOWER \u2014 ALL AUTHORITY!\u00a0 <\/span>Get it?\u00a0 <\/span>That\u2019s what resides in us by virtue of the\nFather being in the Son, the Son being in us, The Holy Spirit being with us, in\nus and filling us \u2026.. AND \u2026 us in Jesus!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let\u2019s\ntry this again, expressing it just a bit differently.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nFather and Son merge with one another.\u00a0\n<\/span>You see one \u2014 you see the other.\u00a0\n<\/span>The Holy Spirit is the energizing power \u2014 the same power that upholds\neverything in the universe \u2014 of God the Father and God the Son.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

And\nthat\u2019s the same power that resides in us.\u00a0\n<\/span>And that\u2019s the same power that we reside in.\u00a0 <\/span>So how come we don\u2019t experience this 24 hours\na day?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nanswer is simple enough.\u00a0 <\/span>If we don\u2019t see\nit, we don\u2019t believe it.\u00a0 <\/span>If we don\u2019t\nbelieve it, we can\u2019t have it experientially.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Jesus\u2019\nprayer ought to be the standard by which we gauge who and what we are.\u00a0 <\/span>First, notice how He\u00a0 <\/span>begins:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

John 17:1-5<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b>These words spake Jesus, and\nlifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy\nSon, that thy Son also may glorify thee: <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>As thou hast given him power\nover all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given\nhim. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>And\nthis is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus\nChrist, whom thou hast sent.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work\nwhich thou gavest me to do. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own\nself with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This\nis only the beginning place of His prayer.\u00a0\n<\/span>The revelation of all that He was doing and prophesying over us is of\nenormous consequence.\u00a0 <\/span>Next week, we will\ntake more time to explore Jesus\u2019 prayer and the significance of that prayer for\nour walk in Resurrection Life.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n
