Resurrection From the Dead, Part 10<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

It has always been a marvel to me how the Table of the Lord\n\u2013 that which we commonly refer to as the Communion Table \u2013 is treated as an\n\u201cordinance\u201d \u2013 a ritual, if you will; something we just have to do because Jesus\ncommanded it.\u00a0 <\/span>Many Christians just don\u2019t\nget it!<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

We are celebrating a Covenant!\u00a0 <\/span>We are entering into and participating in\nthat Covenant \u2013 the Covenant that ends death and opens to us a supernatural\ndimension in the realm of the Spirit.\u00a0\n<\/span>This is our opportunity to play a very real part and to exercise faith\nin all that Jesus has done on our behalf.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

Because the transition from death to life is an overcoming\nprocess that must be worked out in our lives, it is critical that we get a\nhandle on this.\u00a0 <\/span>Even though Paul makes\nit clear in his letter to the Corinthians that the change takes place \u201cin the\ntwinkling of an eye,\u201d our getting to the place in our understanding and in our\nspirits where that becomes a reality requires a complete revision of our\nthinking and our belief structure.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

Jesus made it clear that He is coming back for an\novercoming people \u2013 not a people who simply want the change to take place in\nthem instantly without their having to overcome their flesh, their natural\ndesires, their fears, and all that the Enemy throws at them.\u00a0 <\/span>Overcoming the death mindset is a part of\nthat.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

That said, let\u2019s get back to where we left off last week.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

As\nthe miracle of the loaves unfolded, Jesus was demonstrating what He would say\nto the people shortly thereafter, <\/span>\u201cI am the living bread which came down from heaven:\nif any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will\ngive is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world."<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Do\nyou see the significance of what Jesus is saying?\u00a0 <\/span>He is trading His life in order to cancel the\nsentence of death resident in the human race.\u00a0\n<\/span>As One unworthy of death because He had never sinned, His coming death\nand crucifixion on the Cross would \u2014 by proxy \u2014 suffice to cancel the sentence\nof death for all those who would accept and acknowledge His sacrifice.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

He\nwas willingly giving up His natural life as a human being in order to restore\neternity-based and immortal living for those who would walk in Him!\u00a0 <\/span>On many occasions, Jesus made statements such\nas the following:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

John 6:57<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>"As the living Father hath sent me, and I live\nby the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me."<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

John 11:25-26<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>"I am the resurrection, and the life: he\nthat believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever\nliveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?"<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

John 14:6<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>"I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man\ncometh unto the Father, but by me."<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

In\nhis first general epistle, John writes, <\/span>"For the life was manifested, and we have seen\nit, and bear witness, and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the\nFather, and was manifested unto us."<\/span>  <\/span>(I John 1:2)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nTable of the Lord -- which took the place of Passover -- provides us with a\ndaily (or as often as we eat and drink of it) impartation of the life, the\nmultiplication that comes in that divine life, and we receive for ourselves\nhealing, health, wholeness, deliverance from bondage and oppression, and the\nabundant provision of all that Heaven has for us.  Each time we partake of\nthis Table, we remind and refresh ourselves in the Resurrection Life that Jesus\nimparted (and continues to impart) to us.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Consider\nthe event that took place when the Syrophenician<\/span>\nwoman came to Jesus.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Matthew 15:21-28<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>"And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out\nof the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O\nLord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a\ndevil.  But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and\nbesought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth<\/span>\nafter us.  But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost\nsheep of the house of Israel.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Then came\nshe and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.  But he answered and\nsaid, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of\nIsrael.   And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs\nwhich fall from their masters\u2019 table.  Then Jesus answered and said unto\nher, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt.\nAnd her daughter was made whole from that very hour."<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

See\nthe picture?  Are you understanding just how powerful the bread of life\nreally is?  This woman was not even of the house of Israel.  Yet she\nunderstood the significance of the Table of the Lord.  She understood the\npicture of the Bread of Life, and she realized that just a dried-out crumb of\nthat bread that had fallen under the Table would bring healing and deliverance\nto her daughter.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Brother! \nI sometimes marvel that the body of Christ -- who is supposed to have a grip on\nwhat it means to be seated at the Table of the Lord -- has yet to understand\nwhat it means to eat of the Bread of Life.  David certainly had the\npicture.  Remember the 23rd Psalm?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

"Thou\npreparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies."<\/span>  Who is\npreparing this table?  Hello!?!  The Lord Jesus Christ, of\ncourse.  And what are the enemies in whose presence this Table is\nspread?  Hmmmm ........ Let's see, now ....... Sickness, disease,\ninfirmity, death, poverty, bondage of every kind, demonic oppression, fear,\ndoubt, unbelief ..... shall we go on?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Yet,\nfor the most part, the body of Christ today still treats the Table of the Lord\nas <\/span>anaxios<\/span><\/i><\/b>:<\/span><\/i><\/b> to treat\nirreverently, to treat as commonplace and ordinary.  There is nothing, and\nI do mean NOTHING about the Table of the Lord that is commonplace or\nordinary.  This is not a ritual.  This is not some duty to keep.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nTable of the Lord is a way of life, a manner of living.  Eating of the\nTable of the Lord takes a person out of this time-space,\nsin-and-sickness-based, death-imposed realm and transports them into the\neternity of eternities -- the Kingdom of God!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When\nwe eat of the Bread of Life, we are eating of the Word Himself.  But we\nhave to do it with revelation and understanding.  Otherwise it becomes\njust another "thing to do" as a Christian.  Personally, I\ndislike -- no, I'll make it even stronger than that -- I detest the form and\nritual that has turned our sacred Communion at the Table of the Lord into\ncrackers or wafers and dinky little "communion cups" (so that folks\ndon't transmit or catch some disease by drinking from a common cup).<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When\nDwain and I were still at Long Beach Christian Center back in the 1970's, we\nstopped the "crackers-and-grape juice-in-communion cups" ritual and\nwent to breaking a whole loaf of bread and drinking from a common cup or\nchalice.  It began the transformation of my understanding of what it means\nto partake of the Lord's Table.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That\nwas some 40-plus years ago, and you couldn't pay me to go back to the old\nritual!  I've yet to see someone "catch something" by drinking\nof a common cup at the Table of the Lord.  It just doesn't happen! \nThat would make the Table of the Lord a lie -- and there is nothing but truth\nthat emanates and is imparted when we eat and drink with revelation!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Wheww!!! \nWe've only just begun to scratch the surface.  There's a whole lot more to\ngo just dealing with the covenant picture of the Table.\u00a0 <\/span>Let me share with you this observation as we\ncontinue:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The Lord has set a table before us\nthat is fit for kings and priests -- and we are both in Him!  We have a\nfeast set before us designed to help us function as kings who rule and reign,\nand priests who worship and come before God's presence in boldness and\njoy.\u00a0 <\/span>Deliverance from death, Eternal\nLife, transitioning from mortality to immortality, Health, wholeness, strength,\nhealing, restoration, deliverance, prosperity -- they are all set before us on\nthis Table!<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

John 6:53-58<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b>Then Jesus said unto them,\nVerily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and\ndrink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my\nblood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh\nis meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me,\nand I in him<\/span><\/u>. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>As\nthe living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me,\neven he shall live by me. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>This\nis that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna,\nand are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live forever.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

What\nJesus did by instructing us to eat of Him was to reveal a process that the\nworld simply cannot get a hold of.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>This\nis a spiritual picture and it is a spiritual reality.\u00a0 <\/span>It defies human reasoning, and as a result\nmany believers fail to grasp the significance of what we have available with\nChrist in us.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Many\nof you will remember Jesse Duplantis\u2019 experience when he went to Heaven and saw\nJesus merging into the father and then coming back out.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

In\nthe realm of the Spirit, none of the laws of physics apply.\u00a0 <\/span>There is no time in the\u00a0 <\/span>Spirit, and there is no space.\u00a0 <\/span>If you\u2019ll pardon the Sci-fi illustration,\nthis is \u201cinterdimensional living.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Jesus\ntells us that if we eat and drink of Him, we are in Him and He is in us.\u00a0 <\/span>The apostle Paul explained it like this:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

II Corinthians 5:17-19<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b>Therefore if any man be<\/i>\nin Christ, he is<\/i> a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all\nthings are become new. And all things are<\/i> of God, who hath reconciled us\nto himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of\nreconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto\nhimself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us\nthe word of reconciliation.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 The\npicture that Paul draws is that not only was Jesus in the Father, but that the\nFather came to earth IN JESUS<\/i>!\u00a0\n<\/span>This was a real conundrum for Philip.\u00a0\n<\/span>He couldn\u2019t figure things out.\u00a0\u00a0\n<\/span>Jesus was telling the disciples that He was getting ready to leave and\nprepare a place for them in His Father\u2019s house.\u00a0\n<\/span>Philip said to Jesus (and I\u2019m paraphrasing), \u201cLord, we\u2019ll understand\nthings a whole lot better if you\u2019ll show us the Father.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

John 14:9-11<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b>Jesus saith unto him, Have I\nbeen so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that\nhath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then<\/i>, Show us the\nFather? <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>Believest\nthou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak\nunto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth\nthe works. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>Believe\nme that I am<\/i> in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for\nthe very works\u2019 sake.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nbody of Christ still doesn\u2019t grasp this.\u00a0\n<\/span>We<\/b> don\u2019t really grasp it yet.\u00a0\n<\/span>We have a concept and perhaps an image of it in our minds but lack the\nrevelation.\u00a0 <\/span>If we can receive this\nrevelation and allow it to permeate our beings, it will radically change how we\nthink, how we live and how we function day-to-day.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This\nis why and how Jesus could follow what He said to Philip with this:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

John 14:12-14<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b>Verily, verily, I say unto\nyou, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater\nworks<\/i> than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And\nwhatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be\nglorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it<\/i>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Understand?\u00a0 <\/span>The revelation of this is that whenever we\nask anything of the Father in the name of Jesus, we are asking the Father just\nas if Jesus were doing it.\u00a0 <\/span>If He is in\nus, then Jesus is making the request.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This\nis how the onoma<\/i><\/span><\/b> of the Lord\nworks in us, through us, with us, around us.\u00a0\n<\/span>His onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span><\/i>is His character, His makeup, the very\nessence of who He is!\u00a0 <\/span>With His onoma<\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/b>comes\nHis authority, His power \u2014 AND \u2014 His relationship with the Father.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Pretty\nsimple isn\u2019t it?\u00a0 <\/span>We\u2019ve so complicated\nthis that we\u2019ve lost sight of who and what Jesus is in us. \u00a0<\/span>It isn\u2019t just Him!\u00a0 <\/span>It is the Father, as well.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n
