\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

My remarks at the end\nof last week\u2019s Coffee Break were, no doubt, very controversial to some\nfolks.\u00a0 <\/span>I\u2019m not trying to be\ncontroversial.\u00a0 <\/span>After being with David,\nafter experiencing what he experienced, after watching and experiencing all of\nthe adventures that have come over the past 70+ years in the presence of the\nLord, I can\u2019t help it.\u00a0 <\/span>These are honest\nobservations shared in the hope that I can awaken folks to the true nature of\npraise and worship, prayer and intercession.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

Consider\nin the light of my comments what Isaiah writes about Lucifer.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Isaiah 14:11<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Thy\npomp is brought down to the grave, and<\/i> the noise of thy viols:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Compare\nthat to Ezekiel\u2019s word when he talks about how he was first created as worship\nleader in Heaven.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Ezekiel 28:13b<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>The\nworkmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day\nthat thou wast created.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

What\na contrast!\u00a0 <\/span>The statement that Isaiah\nmakes concerning <\/span>\u201cthe noise of thy viols\u201d<\/span> is significant in view of the noise we\nhear today.\u00a0 <\/span>The Hebrew word, <\/span>nebel<\/span><\/i><\/b>, actually\ntranslates differently to psaltery or lute \u2014 in other words stringed\ninstruments.\u00a0 <\/span>Isaiah was saying that\nLucifer had transformed what should have been beautiful stringed sounds into\nutter noise.\u00a0 <\/span>His prophecy makes clear\nthe fact that this noise will go to the grave.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Ezekiel\u2019s\nprophecy indicates that when Lucifer was first created, he was created with\nperfect percussion (the tabret\u2014Hebrew, <\/span>toph<\/span><\/i><\/b>) and what we know\ntoday as woodwind instruments and brass, like the trumpet and trombone\n(pipes\u2014Hebrew, <\/span>halil<\/span><\/i><\/b>).<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Lucifer\nwas created for the express purpose of surrounding the throne of God with\nworship.\u00a0 <\/span>He corrupted it and he\ncorrupted the sound so that it became noise to God.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Sadly,\nmuch of what the church world knows today as worship has degenerated into\nnoise.\u00a0 <\/span>It doesn\u2019t bring life and there\nis no real peace in it.\u00a0 <\/span>It doesn\u2019t\nminister to the Lord, and it doesn\u2019t accomplish what God intended for worship\nto accomplish.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let\u2019s\nconsider for a minute why it is that God first surrounded Himself with worship,\nand then why he replaced Lucifer with us.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Worship\nprovides a creative atmosphere.\u00a0 <\/span>Think\nabout it for a second!\u00a0 <\/span>Worship\nsurrounded the Throne when God first spoke the worlds into existence.\u00a0 <\/span>Worship surrounded the Throne when he created\nAdam and Eve.\u00a0 <\/span>Worship surrounded the\nThrone when He created the Garden of Eden.\u00a0\n<\/span>Worship surrounded the Throne when He created all animal and plant life.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

If\nyou think I\u2019m kidding you or that I\u2019ve really stretched things beyond what the\nWord says, go back to Ezekiel\u2019s prophecy.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/u><\/b><\/p>\n\n

Ezekiel 28:12b-15<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>Thus saith the\nLord GOD; Thou sealest<\/span> up the sum, full of wisdom,\nand perfect in beauty<\/u>. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>Thou hast been in\nEden the garden of God; every precious stone was<\/i> thy covering, the\nsardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the\nsapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in\nthee in the day that thou wast created. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>Thou art<\/i> the\nanointed cherub that covereth;<\/span><\/u> and I have set thee so<\/i>:\nthou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the\nmidst of the stones of fire. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>Thou wast<\/i>\nperfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created<\/span><\/u>,\ntill iniquity was found in thee.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\ndon\u2019t want to take time to get into all the Hebrew words and phraseology that\noccurs in this passage, but suffice it to say that Lucifer lacked nothing!\u00a0 <\/span>The word used for \u201canointed\u201d in this instance\nis different from what we normally see.\u00a0\n<\/span>In this instance, the Hebrew word is <\/span>mimshach<\/span><\/i><\/b>, meaning: spread\nout, as with huge, outstretched wings that surround.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We\nsee that description amplified with the use of the word, <\/span>sakak<\/span><\/i><\/b>, for\ncovereth.\u00a0 <\/span>This word literally means: to\nentwine as a screen, to fence in, to cover over.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Ezekiel\nlaunches into his description of some of the instrumentation that Lucifer used\nas part of the sound of worship with which he encompassed the Throne.\u00a0 <\/span>We\u2019ve already described these instruments as\nwell as those that Isaiah uses.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

It\nis important for us to see that worship has been a part of God\u2019s existence from\nbefore the worlds began.\u00a0 <\/span>Consider the\nfact that until Adam and Eve were first created, there was no such thing as a\n\u201cfamily of God.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>God existed only as\nFather, Son and Holy Spirit.\u00a0 <\/span>Lucifer\nbecame a created being to fulfill the heart\u2019s desire of God for the sound of\nworship.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Why?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Because\nthe heart of the Lord is for intimacy \u2014 the kind of intimacy that occurs only\nin worship.\u00a0 <\/span>Understand that Lucifer saw\nthe creative power that was generated with God in the midst of the\nworship.\u00a0 <\/span>When he corrupted that sound in\nthe midst of his desire and efforts to usurp the Throne of God and take that\npower for himself, he learned to his own dismay that his power was nothing before\nGod, and he was thrown out of Heaven.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

So\nGod decided to have for Himself a family of beings who would be like Him.\u00a0 <\/span>These would be a people who would know Him,\nknow His heart, and come to love Him like He loved them.\u00a0 <\/span>These would be a people who would replace the\nkind of worship that Lucifer had provided.\u00a0\n<\/span>But there would be a major difference this time.\u00a0 <\/span>This worship would come out of hearts of love\nand a desire for an intimate relationship with God.\u00a0 <\/span>This worship would come out of an intense\ndesire for the presence of God in ways that nothing else would provide.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Are\nyou seeing the picture?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

It\nisn\u2019t just God that becomes the beneficiary of our worship.\u00a0 <\/span>This is two-way!\u00a0 <\/span>We also become beneficiaries by virtue of the\npresence of the Lord flowing in us, through us and around us.\u00a0 <\/span>At the same time, the Glory of the Lord is\nmagnified and the Kingdom of God grows and spreads abroad across the face of\nthe earth.\u00a0 <\/span>We literally participate in\nthe growth of the Family of God.\u00a0 <\/span>We\nbring His presence wherever we go.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

But\nthere\u2019s more \u2014 a whole lot more!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Think\nabout the creative power that is generated in this worship!\u00a0 <\/span>Think about what David saw take place as the\nfamilies of Asaph, Heman and Jeduthun ministered to the Lord in worship.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We\u2019ve\ntalked about this \u2014 and continue to talk about it.\u00a0 <\/span>Israel was essentially barely existing prior\nto David\u2019s establishing of this Tabernacle.\u00a0\n<\/span>They were continually attacked by their enemies.\u00a0 <\/span>Land was taken away from them.\u00a0 <\/span>People continually lost their lives.\u00a0 <\/span>The land failed to produce like it\nshould.\u00a0 <\/span>Israel was not the prosperous\nand wealthy people they had once been.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When\nthe praise and worship began to go forth on a continual basis, that all\nchanged!\u00a0 <\/span>You see, David saw the heart of\nGod.\u00a0 <\/span>He knew the importance of surrounding\nGod with that kind of praise and worship.\u00a0\n<\/span>He had learned in the midst of his years of tending the sheep and\nworshiping God with his harp that he could also prophesy in the midst of that\nworship.\u00a0 <\/span>That prophesy was\nGod-ordained.\u00a0 <\/span>It was God-driven and\nGod-anointed.\u00a0 <\/span>It accomplished what it\nwas sent forth to accomplish.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Thus,\nwhen the families of Asaph, Heman and Jeduthun began their ministry of praise\nand worship, they were already attuned.\u00a0\n<\/span>Their hearts had been prepared beforehand.\u00a0 <\/span>David chose them specifically because he saw\nin them that anointing necessary to truly minister to the heart of God.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

And\nchange began to take place in Israel.\u00a0\n<\/span>Not only did the nation begin to experience the presence of the Lord as\nthey never had before, the previous enemies suddenly discovered that Israel had\na military strength and power that far surpassed anything they had seen\nbefore.\u00a0 <\/span>Whenever those enemies went\nforth against Israel, they were handily defeated.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Israel\u2019s\nerstwhile enemies began to sue for peace treaties.\u00a0 <\/span>They began to pay taxes to Israel.\u00a0 <\/span>Suddenly, Israel was the recipient of income\nfrom people that had stolen from them in time past.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nland began to produce agriculturally.\u00a0\n<\/span>Instead of barely existing, the people now experienced an\nabundance.\u00a0 <\/span>They prospered \u2014 in spades\neven!\u00a0 <\/span>Israel had not seen such wealth\nsince their departure from Egypt.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Think\nabout it.\u00a0 <\/span>When Israel departed from\nEgypt, they literally departed with the wealth of Egypt.\u00a0 <\/span>The funny thing is that the wealth that was\nliberally given to them was an abundance that had been taken from Jacob and his\n12 sons \u2014 wealth they had to relinquish in order to survive the years of\nfamine.\u00a0 <\/span>All of a sudden their\ndescendants had that wealth returned to them.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\u2019m\ngetting a bit off track here but I want you to see what happens when praise and\nworship \u2014 real praise and worship goes forth.\u00a0\n<\/span>That creates an atmosphere of the presence of the Lord in which the\nEnemy loses the ground he has taken from God\u2019s people.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let\u2019s\nbacktrack again for a second. \u00a0<\/span>Do you\nunderstand why Satan so vehemently hates God\u2019s people and why he is so driven\nto corrupt the sound of worship.\u00a0 <\/span>He\nremembers what happened when he was the worship leader in Heaven.\u00a0 <\/span>He remembers the power and authority that\nmanifested.\u00a0 <\/span>That power and authority are\nnow in the hands of God\u2019s people \u2014 as long as the worship is real.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

John\ndescribes something that Jesus said to the woman at the well:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

John 4:22-24<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>Ye worship ye know\nnot what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>But the hour cometh,\nand now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in\ntruth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>God is<\/i> a\nSpirit: and they that worship him must worship him<\/i> in spirit and in\ntruth.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Say\nthat again!<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

True worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in\ntruth.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

One\nmore time!<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

God is a spirit; and they that worship Him must worship Him in\nspirit and in truth.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This\nis NOT the singing of songs and listening to a preacher preach his\nmessage.\u00a0 <\/span>That\u2019s not worship!\u00a0 <\/span>Worship is something takes place IN THE\nSPIRIT!\u00a0 <\/span>You can\u2019t fake worship in the\nspirit!\u00a0 <\/span>You can\u2019t pretend or just put on\na show of worship.\u00a0 <\/span>It is something which\ncomes from one\u2019s heart \u2014 from the very inner core of their being.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Worship\nin truth comes from one\u2019s desire and purpose to minister to the Lord \u2014 to bring\nHis presence in a manifested way \u2014 to fulfill His purposes and desires.\u00a0 <\/span>When we worship the Lord like that, all\nHeaven comes in to join us.\u00a0 <\/span>I don\u2019t need\nto repeat the experiences we had in the 1990\u2019s when we were surrounded by\nangels \u2014 both visibly toi<\/span> the naked eye, as well as\ninvisibly \u2014 along with their instruments joining us.\u00a0 <\/span>I still go back periodically and listen to\nthe recordings where we can hear the angelic chorus and orchestra join in.\u00a0 <\/span>The sound is magnificent!\u00a0 <\/span>It is almost unbelievable to the natural\nmind.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\npoint is, that when we are engaged in real worship, lives are changed.\u00a0 <\/span>People are set free.\u00a0 <\/span>Those who are destitute begin to\nprosper.\u00a0 <\/span>Those who are sick and\/or dying\nare raised up.\u00a0 <\/span>All of a sudden things\nchange in the lives of people around us \u2014 not to mention our own!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\nremember how Della and I transitioned from our six-figure incomes to a\nguaranteed $200 per month when we began our extended time of spontaneous\nworship gatherings.\u00a0 <\/span>We lived better on\nthe $200 a month than we had on our six-figure incomes.\u00a0 <\/span>It doesn\u2019t even begin to make sense\nlogically.\u00a0 <\/span>There is no amount of normal\nreasoning that can figure it out.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That\u2019s\nbeside the point.\u00a0 <\/span>It was a lesson for us\nin the provision of God.\u00a0 <\/span>When He becomes\nthe priority in our lives, when His presence becomes the principal focus of our\nexistence, when His heart\u2019s desire becomes our heart\u2019s desire, there is no need\nthat goes unmet!\u00a0 <\/span>Della and I have walked\nthat for most of the past 30 years.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Jesus\nput it like this when He was ministering to the crowds in what we now refer to\nas \u201cthe Sermon on the Mount.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Matthew 6:25-34<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0\n<\/span><\/span>Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye\nshall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on.\nIs not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap,\nnor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much\nbetter than they?<\/span>\n<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?<\/span> <\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>And why take ye thought\nfor raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not,\nneither do they spin:<\/span>\n<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>And yet I say unto you,\nThat even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.<\/span> <\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>Wherefore, if God so\nclothe the grass of the field, which to day<\/span> is, and to morrow<\/span> is cast into the oven, shall he<\/i> not much\nmore clothe<\/i> you, O ye of little faith?<\/span> <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall\nwe drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?<\/span> <\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>(For after all these\nthings do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have\nneed of all these things.<\/span>\n<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all\nthese things shall be added unto you.<\/span> <\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>Take therefore no thought\nfor the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.\nSufficient unto the day is<\/i> the evil thereof.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

You\nget it, don\u2019t you?\u00a0 <\/span>The essence of what Jesus\nis saying is, Focus on the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.\u00a0 <\/span>You don\u2019t need to fret with the needs of the\nday.\u00a0 <\/span>You don\u2019t need to worry about how\nyou are going to pay your bills, how you are going to buy your groceries or pay\nyour rent or house payment, or how you are going to deal with any medical\ncondition.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Focus\non the presence of the Lord!\u00a0 <\/span>Put His\ndesires first.\u00a0 <\/span>Give yourself over\ntotally to meeting His heart\u2019s desires.\u00a0\n<\/span>Worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.\u00a0\n<\/span>No need will go unmet!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

My remarks at the end of last week\u2019s Coffee Break were, no doubt, very controversial to some folks. I\u2019m not trying to be controversial. After being with David, after experiencing what he experienced, after watching and experiencing all of the adventures that have come over the past 70+ years in the presence of the Lord, I can\u2019t help it.
