\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

I\u2019ve said this before, and I\u2019ll say it again.\u00a0 <\/span>Few people in this age and generation really\nunderstand what it is to be joined together by the Lord in a union that is more\nthan physical.\u00a0 <\/span>People often get married\nbecause they \u201cfall in love.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>The problem\nis that in a few months or years, they \u201cfall out of love.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>Their relationship really wasn\u2019t based on\nlove but on a physical attraction to one another or because of seeming parallel\ninterests.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

The concept of \u201ccounterpart\u201d and \u201cother self\u201d is mostly lost in\ntoday\u2019s society.\u00a0 <\/span>The idea that the Lord\njoins people together because of what He sees, knows, and purposes for the\nfuture is something that the majority of Christians really don\u2019t know or understand.\u00a0 <\/span>We were created for God\u2019s pleasure.\u00a0 <\/span>Because of that, He has created a distinct\nhusband and distinct wife for each other who will likewise bring pleasure to\neach other, but also bring pleasure to Him.\u00a0\n<\/span>We will continue to elaborate and amplify this picture in this series as\nwe progress.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

As already\nnoted, we<\/span>\nwere created for the express purpose of bringing delight and pleasure to the\nLord.\u00a0 <\/span>Of course we were to be His\nfamily.\u00a0 <\/span>We were created in His likeness\nand image.\u00a0 <\/span>But we were created to bring the\nkind of praise and worship that only He could develop within us.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\u2019ve\nshared with you in the past my experience of being in the Garden and being\ntransported there by the Spirit.\u00a0 <\/span>I was\nthere when the temptation took place.\u00a0\n<\/span>The expression on Adam\u2019s face was one of horror, shock, astonishment \u2014\nwords don\u2019t do justice to what I saw \u2014 when he saw Eve take a bite of the fruit\nof the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.\u00a0\n<\/span>When you realize how she was created, when you realize that she was\ncreated as that counterpart, that \u201cother self\u201d of Adam, that <\/span>neged<\/span><\/i><\/b>, it makes you\nappreciate Adam\u2019s reaction.\u00a0 <\/span>Eve\u2019s\npartaking of the fruit was not only disobedience to the Word of the Lord, it\nwas a betrayal of her relationship to him.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Eve,\ntherefore, had to become the prototype of the overcoming Bride.\u00a0 <\/span>The Lord promised that it would be her seed\nthat would crush the serpent\u2019s head.\u00a0\n<\/span>That promise, that prophecy was fulfilled in Jesus.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

From\nJesus\u2019 side as He hung on the Cross came blood and water when the centurion\npierced His side.\u00a0 <\/span>With that blood and\nwater came the birth of the Bride who would be the overcomer.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

Consider\nthe first place that this overcoming Bride faced.\u00a0 <\/span>We see it in the letter to Ephesus.\u00a0 <\/span>The promise to the overcomer (this is those\nwho have lost their first love) is the restoration of access to the Tree of\nLife in the midst of the Garden.\u00a0 <\/span>Each of\nthe successive letters takes the Bride through overcoming all of the things\nthat the curse brought on the human race.\u00a0\n<\/span>It represents overcoming each of the three families of fear.\u00a0 <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We\ncome to the sixth letter, addressed to Philadelphia, and we see the Key of\nDavid. <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nseventh letter to Laodicea is a warning to all those who have made it through\nthe sixth area of overcoming, and because of the power, the authority, the\npresence of the Lord they\u2019ve experienced, they become complacent.\u00a0 <\/span>They cease to press on and maintain the\novercoming mindset.\u00a0 <\/span>They don\u2019t give up\nexactly, they just become wearied in the continual press and settle back\nbelieving that they\u2019ve reached the pinnacle of success.\u00a0 <\/span>It doesn\u2019t work that way.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Revelation 21:7<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>He that\novercometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my\nson.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\npicture of overcoming occurs eight times in Revelation.\u00a0 <\/span>John uses this word three other times in I\nJohn 5.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\nJohn 5:4: <\/span>For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is\nthe victory that overcometh the world, even<\/i> our faith.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nability to overcome, and be that overcoming Bride, is predicated in faith.\u00a0 <\/span>Simply put, our ability to continue the\novercoming process is based in the fact that faith comes by hearing and hearing\nby the Word of God.\u00a0 <\/span>When we are\nsensitive to hearing the voice of the Lord, He speaks.\u00a0 <\/span>That speaking generates a driving force\nwithin us that enables us to keep on overcoming and acting on His Word.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We\ncome back to the letter to Laodicea as the example of this failure.\u00a0 <\/span>They became desensitized to hearing the Word\nof the Lord, and as a result, failed to continue in the overcoming process.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nentire book of Revelation is built upon an overcoming people.\u00a0 <\/span>We have picture after picture after picture\nof events that will come in this transitional age prior to the thousand year\nreign \u2014 events that require the Bride of Christ to live a constant overcoming\nlife.\u00a0 <\/span>What was it that John wrote in\nRevelation 12?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Revelation 12:10-11<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>And\nI heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and\nthe kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our\nbrethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/p>\n\n

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word\nof their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We\u2019ve\nreally gone around a 40-acre field today with this study, but if you see what\nis happening, it is absolutely revelatory.\u00a0\n<\/span>What began as a promise to Eve and was fulfilled in Jesus Christ when He\nhung on the Cross with his side pierced through and blood and water pouring\nforth, is now being fulfilled in us as the overcoming Bride.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We\nbegan the overcoming process in the letter to Ephesus, and took it through all\nseven letters to the picture in Revelation 12 where we have cast down the\naccuser of the brethren.\u00a0 <\/span>That brings us\nto Revelation 19.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Revelation 19:5-8<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>And a voice\ncame out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye\nthat fear him, both small and great. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>And I heard as it\nwere the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as\nthe voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent\nreigneth.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the\nmarriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready<\/u>. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>And to her was\ngranted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine\nlinen is the righteousness of saints.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

How\nwas it that \u201cHis wife hath made herself ready?\u201d\u00a0\n<\/span>How was it that she could not be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Simple.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

She\novercame EVERYTHING.\u00a0 <\/span>She persisted.\u00a0 <\/span>She didn\u2019t quit.\u00a0 <\/span>She didn\u2019t fade under the constant\npersecution, the attacks of the Enemy, the accusations pointed against\nher.\u00a0 <\/span>She stood fast.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That,\nmy friends, is exactly what the Lord has been looking for in a people that will\nsurround Him, a people that will surround the Throne, a people who KNOW what it\nmeans to praise and worship.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Now,\ndo you understand the Tabernacle of David?\u00a0\n<\/span>Do you see what David saw?\u00a0 <\/span>Do you\nsee what God is looking for in praisers and worshipers?\u00a0 <\/span>We have a destiny for eternity that involves\nbeing before and around the Throne of God.\u00a0\n<\/span>The Key of David was in knowing the heart and heart\u2019s desire of the Lord\nfor a people who would minister to Him in worship!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Here\u2019s\nthe grand finale!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Revelation 22:1-5<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>And he showed\nme a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the\nthrone of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either\nside of the river, was there<\/i> the tree of life, which bare twelve manner\nof<\/i> fruits, and<\/i> yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the\ntree were<\/i> for the healing of the nations.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of\nthe Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: And they shall\nsee his face; and his name shall be<\/i> in their foreheads<\/u>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/p>\n\n

And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle,\nneither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall\nreign for ever and ever.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Do\nyou see where the Tabernacle of David leads us to?\u00a0 <\/span>We SHALL serve Him!\u00a0 <\/span>We SHALL see His face!\u00a0 <\/span>His onoma, His character, His personality,\nthe essence of Who He is will be written in our minds, our thoughts, our whole\npersonality!\u00a0 <\/span>We worship Him!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/p>\n\n

We continue dealing with the relationship of the\nBride to the Bridegroom.\u00a0 <\/span>How that plays\ninto our creation as worshipers is a subject that still has a ways to go.\u00a0 <\/span>I thought that I had covered it fairly well\nbut Holy Spirit, as usual, began unfolding more of it to me even while I was\nstill sharing.\u00a0 <\/span>That said, I won\u2019t make\nany assumptions of how far we will take this topic.\u00a0 <\/span>We\u2019ll just keep moving along until Holy\nSpirit indicates that we\u2019ve covered it sufficiently.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

Proverbs 18:22<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>\u201c[Whoso] findeth<\/span> a wife findeth<\/span> a good\n[thing], and obtaineth favour of the LORD.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Anybody\nwho has attended a wedding has \u2014 in all probability \u2014 heard this verse\nquoted.\u00a0 <\/span>The problem is that we hear this\nwith our natural ears and don\u2019t understand the context of what Holy Spirit is\nactually.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

What I am saying is that the English word, \u201cwife,\u201d is going\nthrough changes as with any language.\u00a0\u00a0This next generation coming up\nwill hear something much different when they hear the word wife than what our\ngeneration thought when we heard the word wife.\u00a0\u00a0My point being that\njust because your lexicons and Bible dictionaries are written over a hundred\nyears ago call the word, <\/span>ishah, <\/span><\/i><\/b>a wife does not mean\nthat what we view as a wife is what the ancients viewed as a wife.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let me ask you this.\u00a0\u00a0One must find a\nwife.\u00a0\u00a0That fits today but even a hundred years ago and even today in\ncertain cultures men do not <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

find a <\/span>wife,\ntheir marriages are arranged, somebody else finds the wife for them.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Strangely\nenough, there are eleven words in Hebrew that are rendered \u201cwife.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>We have the picture of Jacob who married both\nLeah and Rachel.\u00a0 <\/span>Both are referred to as\n\u201cwives.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>There is a catch here.\u00a0 <\/span>Both are rendered as \u201cishah\u201d because they\nwere viewed in Jacob\u2019s eyes as his wives.\u00a0\n<\/span>The problem is that God created man and woman to have one mate.\u00a0 <\/span>In God\u2019s eyes, only one could be Jacob\u2019s\nwife.\u00a0 <\/span>That was Rachel.\u00a0 <\/span>She loved and adored Jacob, and he loved and\nadored her.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Leah\nwas forced upon Jacob as part of a contract, and while Jacob came to love her,\nthe relationship was far from the same.\u00a0\n<\/span>It was not the same kind of love, nor did their relationship have the\nsame kind of trust and intimacy that Jacob had with Rachel.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

So,\nin God\u2019s eyes, when is someone married?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>When\nare you officially married or betrothed to Jesus?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Jesus\nhas given you an offer of marriage, a proposal if you prefer.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Just as that young man holds out a\nring and says \u201cWill you?\u201d and she wilts.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>So\nis marriage for life?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Well, is\nour salvation for eternity?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Why\ndoes Jesus offer this relationship to us in the first place?\u00a0 <\/span>What is it all about?\u00a0 <\/span>Because the true wife surrounds the husband\nwith her love, her protection \u2014 everything that is in her.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Remember\nthis illustration?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nword for \u201cmeet\u201d (as in help meet) is, <\/span>neged<\/span><\/i><\/b>.\u00a0 <\/span>While one of the meanings of this word is\n\u201ccounterpart\u201d or \u201cother self,\u201d it goes well beyond that.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Neged<\/span><\/i><\/b> is used as a\nmilitary term.\u00a0 <\/span>It represents: <\/span>a\nfront, a defense, over against, before<\/span>.\u00a0 <\/span>In\nother words, <\/span>this is someone who will be your defense, someone who will die\nfor you if necessary, someone who opposes your enemies, someone who provides\nevery kind of assistance necessary<\/span>.\u00a0 <\/span>In\nanother sense, <\/span>this is someone who will become the praise of your existence<\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\nquote once again from the scholar, Chaim BenTorah:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

My point is, in the eyes of God a wife not one who signs a legal\ncontract and makes a vow.\u00a0\u00a0A wife is one whom the man loves and she\nloves him in return and a vow is made in love.\u00a0\u00a0So within the proper\nand emotional context Proverbs 18:22 should read:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u201cFind a woman who loves you and is committed to you and you have\nfound a good thing.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Ouch, that good thing hurts.\u00a0\u00a0For one thing, the word\nthing is not in the Hebrew text, it is only the word, <\/span>tov, <\/span><\/i><\/b>which\nmeans good.\u00a0\u00a0I check 26 modern translations and 18 say good\nthing.\u00a0\u00a0Translated by men obviously. The rest say simply\ngood.\u00a0\u00a0Adequate, acceptable, ok.\u00a0\u00a0Not great, not excellent,\njust good.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The Living Bible renders it as finding a treasure.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That,\nfolks, is what God intended in the first place.\u00a0\n<\/span>The word, <\/span>tov<\/span><\/i><\/b>, is more than \u201cgood.\u201d\u00a0\n<\/span>It literally means: <\/span>to be in harmony.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Hence, he who finds a loving, committed\nwife \u2014 one who literally becomes his counterpart, his \u201cother self,\u201d finds\nsomeone who can bring him into harmony with God.\u00a0 <\/span>The end result is that he\/they will find\nfavor with God.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n
