Deliver Us From Evil, Part 6<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

One of the biggest doors that people have opened up in their \nlives is rejection.\u00a0 <\/span>This is a spirit \nthat is part of the family of The Fear of Death, and a companion to The Fear of \nMan.\u00a0 <\/span>It has many tenets to it and \nmanifests in different ways.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

That door can open in a person\u2019s life if they have been \nmistreated by a parent during their growing up years, or experienced some \ntraumatic event at the hands of a friend or relative.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

This is a wicked and dangerous spirit because of the chain \nreaction it brings in a person\u2019s life, as well as in the lives of people with \nwhom they directly interact.\u00a0 <\/span>Some \nyears ago, I was faced with a certain person in our fellowship in Alaska who \nsuffered greatly from this spirit.\u00a0 <\/span>\nThis person\u2019s case reached a climax in a series of events that directly impacted \nDella and me.\u00a0 <\/span>Following is \ntranscript of a letter that I sent because this individual would no longer talk \nto either one of us.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

For obvious reasons, the names have been changed.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

\nHi, Carol:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nLet me say, first of all, that Della and I love you and George very much.\u00a0 <\/span>Frankly, we are sick and tired of seeing \nyou get bounced around by evil spirits that have plagued you for years, and we \nhave determined to share these things with you because we want to see you free.\u00a0 <\/span>We won\u2019t rest until we see you free once \nand for all.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nTo once again address the issue of the dinner, a lady by the name of Sarah \nCharleston had driven over that day, specifically to receive some ministry.\u00a0 <\/span>\nSarah\u2019s husband, Roger, just passed away a couple of months ago from Lou \nGehrig\u2019s disease (ALS).\u00a0 <\/span>It was a crushing blow to her and an \nemotional crash after months of caring for him and watching him deteriorate from \na healthy man to a skeleton who could barely talk.\u00a0 <\/span>Topping that off, her mother just passed \naway a few weeks ago.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>She and \nher mother have also been very close.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nSarah was needing some personal ministry, and because she and Roger had been \nfairly close to Morris and Melanie for several years, she felt the need to just \ntalk to someone who could be a comfort to her.\u00a0\n<\/span>Morris and I talked about the situation, and we decided to go to dinner.\u00a0 <\/span>\nIt provided a good chance for us all to share in a non-threatening environment.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nBesides, we got to celebrate our joint special days together at the same time.\u00a0 <\/span>We were going to wait until Monday, the \n18<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup>, to do our \ncelebrating, but with Sarah\u2019s coming, it was more appropriate for us to combine \nour outing with ministry to Sarah.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nThe fact that you jumped to conclusions about the evening, and then took offense \nat Morris and Melanie, first accusing Melanie of orchestrating this deliberately \nto get at you \u2013 and then followed it up by taking offense at us \u2013 it really \ncomes down to dealing with a spirit of rejection that you have fought with since \nyour childhood.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nLet\u2019s do a little backtracking.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nCarol, from your early childhood, this has been a problem in your life.\u00a0 <\/span>While it seems more than likely that your \nfather may also have suffered from rejection in his life, and you have inherited \nthis spirit from him, it is also true that because of your father\u2019s actions \ntowards you during your early years, and even in the years of your first \nmarriage, you experienced what you saw as his rejection of you.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nHere\u2019s where the problem comes in.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>\nThe spirit of Rejection is a lying spirit.\u00a0 <\/span>\nIts whole existence is to lie, to steal, to kill and to destroy.\u00a0 <\/span>It first lies to you and tells you that \nyou were rejected.\u00a0 <\/span>It follows up \nthat lie with another lie: that you were rejected because you really aren\u2019t \nworth anything.\u00a0 <\/span>Add to that all of \nthe false accusations it makes against you, calling you names, belittling you, \nyour personal integrity, your character, your intelligence, etc., and you have \nheaps upon heaps of lies being foisted off on you.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nHere\u2019s where your personal choices come into play.\u00a0\n<\/span>You have the choice of believing these lies, or rejecting them.\u00a0 <\/span>If you believe them, you accept that \nspirit of rejection to yourself.\u00a0 <\/span>\nWith that spirit comes spirits of lies, a spirit of false accusation, a spirit \nof belittlement \u2013 and to top it all \u2013 a spirit of self-pity.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nA chain reaction begins in your inner being that brings a curse to you; and it\u2019s \na curse that can (and has) stay with you year after year after year.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nWhat began in your youth became compounded in the years that followed.\u00a0 <\/span>Then there was Peter, and the problems \nthat came with that relationship.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nNext was Kingston.\u00a0 <\/span>It was an \nabominable relationship, but you were determined to prevent yourself from \nsuffering rejection.\u00a0 <\/span>When he left, \nand you were stuck with two children \u2013 both of whom had suffered the same \nspiritual DNA \u2013 now having inherited the same spirits you were afflicted with, \nas well as Peter\u2019s, and Kingston\u2019s \u2013 you attempted to claim verses of Scripture \nin the false belief that you could see this marriage put back together, and that \nGod would fix it.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nThat didn\u2019t happen, and those same lying spirits heaped all the more \ncondemnation and rejection upon you.\u00a0 <\/span>\nFor more than a little time, you blamed God for not fixing things.\u00a0 <\/span>You held unforgiveness towards Him, \nunforgiveness towards Kingston, and unforgiveness towards many others.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nYou made personal progress when you began to take steps to forgive yourself, and \nto forgive Kingston.\u00a0 <\/span>Nevertheless, a \nroot of bitterness began to grow in your being.\u00a0\n<\/span>Nothing much at first, but it was there.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nThe Lord brought George into your life, and things began to actually go right \nfor the first time.\u00a0 <\/span>You experienced \nacceptance.\u00a0 <\/span>You experienced an \nunconditional love from George.\u00a0 <\/span>\nThings began to really progress for you.\u00a0 <\/span>\nYou took some giant strides forward in your spiritual growth because of your \nsense of being accepted and loved.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nUnfortunately, this spirit of rejection and its family were still dwelling in \nyou.\u00a0 <\/span>Throughout the years, numerous events \nhave transpired that only made these spirits all the stronger as you gave place \nto them.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nThere was the incident with Morris and Melanie, and your feelings towards \nMelanie.\u00a0 <\/span>That is something that, \nalthough you made an effort to forgive a perceived slight, there was never \ncomplete forgiveness.\u00a0 <\/span>Many incidents \nhave occurred in the years since in which those lying spirits have played havoc, \nagain telling you that Melanie either rejected you, or had some personal problem \nwith you that she wouldn\u2019t let go of.\u00a0\n<\/span>Those same lying spirits have accused her to you, and you \u2013 unfortunately \n\u2013 have believed their lies.\u00a0\n<\/span>It has contaminated your relationship with Morris and Melanie, and \ncontinues to this day to contaminate it.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nI\u2019ve heard you say many times that you can have fellowship with Morris, but not \nwith Melanie.\u00a0 <\/span>That\u2019s a lie that \ncomes from those spirits; and I\u2019ll explain why.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nMorris and Melanie are one, just like Della and I are one.\u00a0 <\/span>To suggest that you can have fellowship \nwith one-half of one, and not the other, simply doesn\u2019t work.\u00a0 <\/span>Folks who won\u2019t fellowship with Della \ncertainly have no fellowship with me.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nThey may talk to me, but there is no fellowship, and anything they have to say \nis greeted with a jaundiced ear on my part.\u00a0\n<\/span>The same is true with Morris and Melanie.\u00a0 <\/span>If you have a problem with Melanie, and \nsay you can fellowship with Morris, what is really happening is that you are \ntalking with Morris, but there isn\u2019t any fellowship.\u00a0 <\/span>Anything you have to say apart from \nMelanie is greeted with a conditioned response.\u00a0\n<\/span>There is no bond of fellowship with Morris that doesn\u2019t extend to \nMelanie, and vice-versa.\u00a0 <\/span>There is no \nbond of fellowship with Della that doesn\u2019t extend to me, and vice-versa.\u00a0 <\/span>Any suggestion to the contrary is simply \na lie that comes from an evil spirit seeking to divide.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nThere are the multiple events with Charlotte \u2013 and we won\u2019t even get to talking \nabout Doug.\u00a0 <\/span>Charlotte inherited \nthese same wicked spirits that you suffer from.\u00a0\n<\/span>Naturally, they work overtime between the two of you, seeking to destroy \nevery vestige of love, compassion, understanding and tolerance towards one \nanother.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nCharlotte feels rejected by you.\u00a0 <\/span>She \nfelt rejected by her father.\u00a0 <\/span>She has \ngone through multiple experiences of feeling rejected by would-be husbands and \nlovers.\u00a0 <\/span>So she believes the same lies you have \nbelieved.\u00a0 <\/span>In the same way that you \nhave experienced unforgiveness and bitterness because of the lies these wicked \nspirits keep telling you, Charlotte now lacks forgiveness and lives with the \nsame root of bitterness that has literally grown a tree of bitterness in her \nlife.\u00a0 <\/span>Doug does as well, although to \na much lesser extent.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nNow things have exploded between you and Charlotte to the place that neither one \nof you can deal with the other.\u00a0 <\/span>Both \nof you are filled with rejection from each other.\u00a0\n<\/span>Both of you are filled with bitterness towards each other.\u00a0 <\/span>Both of you are filled with anger.\u00a0 <\/span>Both of you are filled with unforgiveness \ntowards each other.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nYour relationship with Doug is barely better.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nThen there\u2019s Erin.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nOne of the problems accompanying a spirit of rejection is a continual effort to \n\u201cfix things\u201d by doing things for the person you believe has rejected you.\u00a0 <\/span>Joyce Meyer recently did a teaching \nseries on this called, \u201cApproval Addiction.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>\nThis is a perfect example of what this spirit does to folks.\u00a0 <\/span>They demand approval from friends, from \nfamily, from their peers, from folks in ministry, etc. \u2013 and go out of their way \nto do things for those whose approval they desire.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nIn your case, Carol, you have given and given and given to Charlotte, to Erin, \nto others \u2013 all to the detriment of your own needs and finances, often putting \nyourself in a debt situation that stresses you out and stresses George out \u2013 all \nwith the hope of gaining their approval and acceptance.\u00a0 <\/span>Instead, you\u2019ve created a monster.\u00a0 <\/span>Charlotte and Erin, Doug to a lesser \nextent -- who knows who all else \u2013 have come to expect you to do for them, and \nwhen you don\u2019t meet their demands, they cuss you out, walk away from you, say \nall manner of evil against you; and you wind up feeling all the more rejected.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nYou\u2019ve excused your unreal giving by justifying the fact that \u201cthese are my \nkids, my grandkids, and I have a responsibility to them.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>You\u2019re right!\u00a0 <\/span>You do!\u00a0\n<\/span>But that responsibility is to stop giving to them.\u00a0 <\/span>That responsibility is to teach them \nresponsibility, to stand on their own two feet.\u00a0\n<\/span>That responsibility is to teach them to be givers \u2013 not takers.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nYour \u201capproval addiction\u201d has created a monster in your own life.\u00a0 <\/span>It has led to bitterness, envy, and \nnon-stop strife.\u00a0 <\/span>James wrote the \nfollowing in his epistle (3:16),<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

James 3:16<\/span><\/u><\/b>: \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>For where \nenvying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nCarol, this is exactly what you are fighting with.\u00a0\n<\/span>You have non-stop confusion, and literally every evil work abounds around \nyou.\u00a0 <\/span>One thing leads to another, and \nanother, and another.\u00a0 <\/span>One spirit \nleads to another, and another, and another, until you don\u2019t know whether you are \ncoming or going.\u00a0 <\/span>You seek after \nGod\u2019s blessings, you seek after His prosperity in your life, and yet you see it \nall destroyed time after time after time.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nYou wonder why your relationships with people whom you consider to be your best \nfriends get messed up.\u00a0 <\/span>Friends \u2013 \ntrue friends \u2013 don\u2019t need explanations.\u00a0\n<\/span>Friends don\u2019t need excuses.\u00a0\n<\/span>Friends don\u2019t need to explain themselves to each other.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nThe bond of love in true friendship covers everything.\u00a0 <\/span>Yet, you demand explanations from people; \nyou demand apologies for perceived slights; you demand that everyone else make \namends to you \u2013 yet it isn\u2019t you that gets the apologies: it\u2019s the evil spirits \nin control of you.\u00a0 <\/span>The result is \nthat no apology works.\u00a0 <\/span>You are never \nsatisfied because it isn\u2019t you needing the apology; it is the evil spirit \ndriving the demands.\u00a0 <\/span>Because those \ndemands are impossible to meet, you can never receive the satisfaction the evil \nspirit is demanding in you.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nUntil you forgive God for not doing things the way you expected Him to respond \nin your life (that\u2019s number one), until you forgive your parents (and I know you \nthink you\u2019ve done this), until you forgive yourself for being such a failure \n(and the failure is the result of listening to these lying spirits), until you \ncan literally forgive every single person you think has offended you, rejected \nyou, slighted you in some way, AND ask God\u2019s forgiveness for holding bitterness, \nunforgiveness, resentment and self-pity; AND THEN until you deliberately kick \nout the spirit of rejection, the spirit of unforgiveness, the spirit of \nself-pity, the spirit of envy, the spirit of belittlement, AND THE GRANDDADDY OF \nTHEM ALL, the Fear of Death \u2013 until you do these things, Carol, you can NEVER \nexpect to walk in freedom.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nYou will continually see your relationships with folks go down the drain.\u00a0 <\/span>You will see your relationship with the \nLord so contaminated you\u2019ll never be able to discern or hear His voice.\u00a0 <\/span>You will continue to live a poverty \nlifestyle with a poverty mentality because the blessings of the Lord will not \nremain in such an environment.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nCarol, there is a place in you that loves the Lord.\u00a0\n<\/span>It isn\u2019t fake.\u00a0 <\/span>It isn\u2019t put \non.\u00a0 <\/span>It\u2019s real.\u00a0 <\/span>The problem is that your relationship \nwith the Lord is slowly but surely being submerged into oblivion by these wicked \nspirits.\u00a0 <\/span>What happens \u2013 and what is \nhappening \u2013 is that as these evil spirits speak out of you, those around you \nhave the perception that you don\u2019t know the Lord.\u00a0 <\/span>The reason is because these evil spirits \nhave taken the place of what should be the Spirit of the Lord speaking out of \nyou with peace, with love, with forgiveness, with gentleness, with acceptance, \nwith grace.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nWhat people hear, and in this instance I\u2019m referring to remarks that Charlotte \nhas made to you, is actually the voice of an unforgiving spirit, a spirit of \nbelittlement, a spirit that places demands on people, a spirit that requires \nperformance, a spirit of rejection, a spirit of bitterness.\u00a0 <\/span>Because those spirits are doing the \nspeaking out of you, Charlotte says to you \u2013 and rightly so \u2013 that you don\u2019t \nknow the Lord.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nWhat she really is addressing is the fact that those spirits don\u2019t have a \nrelationship with the Lord, and when they are doing the speaking out of your \nvoice, and you continue to give place to them, you become the identity and voice \nof those spirits.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\nThere is still much more of this letter to Carol, and we will continue it next \nweek.\u00a0 <\/span>I trust that you are seeing the \ncontamination of the Spirit of Rejection.<\/span><\/p>\n\n
