\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

The Spirit of Rejection has contaminated the lives of so many\nbelievers that it is sometimes hard to calculate the damage done to their lives\nbecause of how they have reacted.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

We live in a society which has become evil to degrees that none\nof us could have conceived in our wildest imaginations.\u00a0 <\/span>The wickedness that has abounded in this era\nhas so infected our nation and the world that it affects the ways in which\npeople respond one to another.\u00a0 <\/span>Offenses\nare common.\u00a0 <\/span>People receive commentary\nfrom other that they perceive as insulting, whether real or imagined.\u00a0 <\/span>What used to be rational, reasoned behavior\nhas become so agenda-driven that many (and this is more than evident in the\npolitical realm) have become blinded by their own self-imposed positions.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

As a result, the Spirit of Rejection runs rampant over millions\nand millions of people, and \u2013 sad to say \u2013 has really affected the lives of so\nmany believers who genuinely want to live in Truth.\u00a0 <\/span>The letter to Carol that we began with last\nweek addressed many years of observations in the life of a person that Della\nand I had known dating back to years before we were married.\u00a0 <\/span>When I wrote that letter, I had no idea the\nimpact that it would make, nor did I realize how revelatory it was of this\nspirit.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

In this continued sharing, my hope is that this will benefit\nmany who read this. <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nLetter to Carol continues:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nLord doesn\u2019t reject you.\u00a0 <\/span>You know\nthat!\u00a0 <\/span>But the Lord certainly rejects\nthese spirits.\u00a0 <\/span>So long as you continue\nto give place to Satan operating through and by don\u2019t know the Lord.\u00a0 <\/span>What she really is addressing is the fact\nthat those spirits don\u2019t have a relationship with the Lord, and when they are\ndoing the speaking out of your voice, and you continue to give place to them,\nyou become the identity and voice of those spirits.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

Thus,\nthose who hear the evil spirits speak out of you rightly say, \u201cYou don\u2019t know\nthe Lord.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>They will say, \u201cYou have a\nreligious spirit,\u201d and that is true.\u00a0\n<\/span>They are looking for the Spirit of the Lord to speak out of your mouth:\nnot a spirit of unforgiveness, not a spirit that places performance demands on\nthem and not a spirit that reeks of bitterness and strife.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

They\nare looking for a spirit that speaks peace, that generates peace in their being\nwhen you open your mouth.\u00a0 <\/span>When you make\ndemands of people that supposedly have offended you or slighted you \u2013 and they\nhaven\u2019t, really \u2013 folks instead hear a spirit of witchcraft, manipulation and\ncontrol.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That\u2019s\nnot the real Carol.\u00a0 <\/span>We KNOW the real\nCarol.\u00a0 <\/span>We\u2019re just sick of seeing you run\nover by this freight train.\u00a0 <\/span>We\u2019re tired\nof seeing the real Carol get more and more buried under a mountain of\nself-pity, defeat, anger, bitterness and unforgiveness.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nLord doesn\u2019t reject you.\u00a0 <\/span>You know\nthat!\u00a0 <\/span>But the Lord certainly rejects\nthese spirits.\u00a0 <\/span>So long as you continue\nto give place to Satan operating through and by these spirits in your life, you\nwill experience rejection.\u00a0 <\/span>You will\nexperience defeat.\u00a0 <\/span>You will experience people\nwalking away from you.\u00a0 <\/span>What\u2019s worse, you\nwill one of these days cease entirely to sense the presence of the Lord,\nbecause He simply will not remain as long as you continually yield to these\nlying voices.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Saint\nFrancis of Assisi was once asked what the secret of relationship with the Lord\nwas.\u00a0 <\/span>He replied, \u201cThere are three\nthings.\u00a0 <\/span>One, Repent!\u00a0 <\/span>Two, Repent!\u00a0\n<\/span>Three, Repent!\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Once\nrepentance has taken place, and you have turned from these evil spirits, then\nyou have the right to kick them out.\u00a0\n<\/span>Once you kick them out, things are not done, however.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Now\ncomes the continual \u201cresist the devil and he will flee from you.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>Listening to these lying spirits has been a\nlifestyle with you.\u00a0 <\/span>You can repent, and\nyou can kick them out, but you are going to have to discipline your mind and\nyour thoughts to resist and reject everything that isn\u2019t peaceful, everything\nthat doesn\u2019t bring joy, everything that doesn\u2019t speak love, everything that\nisn\u2019t longsuffering, everything that isn\u2019t gentle, everything that doesn\u2019t speak\nfaith or agreement with God\u2019s Word.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

What\nit means is that you have to continually bathe your mind and your spirit in\nGod\u2019s Word.\u00a0 <\/span>You have to bathe yourself\nin the presence of the Lord.\u00a0 <\/span>You have to\nlive continually speaking faith, speaking the Word of Life \u2013 to yourself, to\nGeorge, to Charlotte, to Erin, to everyone around you.\u00a0 <\/span>No longer can you EVER confess anything that\nisn\u2019t God\u2019s Word.\u00a0 <\/span>No longer can you\nspeak accusations against your family, against your brethren and sisters in the\nLord, against anyone!\u00a0 <\/span>You mind must be\nrenewed, your spirit must be renewed, your whole being must be renewed.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Proverbs 23:7<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0\n<\/span><\/span>As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Carol,\nthe time has come for you to respond to the Lord, NOW!\u00a0 <\/span>The Lord will not continually strive with\nyou.\u00a0 <\/span>There is<\/b> an end to His\npatience and mercy.\u00a0 <\/span>That doesn\u2019t mean\nyou lose your salvation.\u00a0 <\/span>What it means\nis that you will be turned over to the tormentors for the destruction of your\nflesh so that your soul will be saved.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Understand?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We\nare lifting you before the Lord continually.\u00a0\n<\/span>We expect to hear victory!\u00a0 <\/span>We\nexpect to see the victory!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Love\nyou.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Throughout\nthe years I\u2019ve been involved in ministry, it has always been a source of\ninterest and intrigue to me to see just how many Christians are haunted by\ntheir past, or by past experiences.\u00a0 <\/span>I\u2019m\nvery well aware of the fact that people have psychological traumas, often\nstemming from childhood terrors that seem to haunt them year after year after\nyear.\u00a0 <\/span>The spirit of rejection plays on\nthese traumas and taints or contaminates the lives as a result<\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\ntragedy of it is that there is absolutely no need for any Christian to endure\nthe pain of the past.\u00a0 <\/span>Stop and think\nabout the prophecy that Isaiah made when he spoke of Jesus\u2019 death on the Cross.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Isaiah 53.4-5<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0\n<\/span><\/span>Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we\ndid esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>But he was wounded\nfor our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement\nof our peace was upon him<\/u>; and with his stripes we are healed.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Here\nis my amplified version of these two verses:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Isaiah\n53.4-5<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span>Surely He has\nsuffered and accepted as His own our maladies, our anxieties, our calamities,\nour disease and sicknesses, and carried our anguish, pain and grief: yet we\nfabricated and maliciously invented His being stricken violently, beaten,\npunished, wounded and slaughtered as if by God -- choosing to believe that God browbeat, demeaned\nand looked down upon Him<\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

But He was broken and\nprofaned for our rebellion, our revolt, our apostasy and our [religious]\nquarrel against God; He was crushed, oppressed and smitten, and (emotionally)\nbroken into pieces for our perversity, our evil, our mischief, sins and faults;\nthe psychological and emotional blows that took away our peace, our welfare,\nour prosperity, our health and our safety was upon Him; and with His bloodied\nand blue wounds we are cured, mended, repaired and made thoroughly whole.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b>(RAC Translation &\nAmplification)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\u2019ve\nunderlined the phrase in the KJV, \u201cthe chastisement of our peace was upon\nhim.?\u00a0 <\/span>The Hebrew word translated\n\u201cchastisement\u201d is <\/span>musar<\/span><\/i><\/b>.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0\n<\/span><\/span>It\ncomes from a root word,<\/span>\n<\/span>yasar<\/span><\/i><\/b>,<\/span>\n<\/span>and it\nallows us to translate that phrase like this,<\/span> \u201c<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>the\n(psychological and emotional) blows that took away our peace were upon\nHim.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>The statement becomes very revealing\nwhen translated this way.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

During\nthe past few weeks, I\u2019ve shared on numerous occasions how Satan lies, and how\nhe even quotes Scripture to bring condemnation on folks.\u00a0 <\/span>Let me tell you, if hearing Scripture quoted\nin your mind or your spirit brings condemnation, you\u2019re being tormented by the\nEnemy.\u00a0 <\/span>If it brings conviction, it will\nalso have a peaceful spirit.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

There\u2019s\nan easy yardstick by which to measure the way you hear Scripture: If it brings\nconviction, it will bring true repentance and a peace that surpasses natural\nunderstanding.\u00a0 <\/span>If it brings\ncondemnation, it will bring fear \u2013 and most likely \u2013 anger, along with doubt\nand unbelief. \u00a0<\/span>It will also add to the\ntrauma for those suffering from the Spirit of Rejection.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Consider\nfor a minute Jesus\u2019 statement as He began His ministry like this.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Luke 4:18-19<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span> <\/span><\/i><\/b>The\nSpirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel\nto the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance\nto the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them\nthat are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Here\nagain is an illustration of the available healing from the haunting of the\npast.\u00a0 <\/span>Part of Jesus\u2019 statement (and He\nwas quoting from Isaiah\u2019s prophecy concerning Him \u2013 see Isaiah 61:1-4) was\/is, <\/span>\u201cHe\nhath sent me to heal the brokenhearted.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That\nword, brokenhearted, in the Greek text of the New Testament is: <\/span>suntribo<\/span><\/i><\/b>.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b>It describes someone who has been crushed,\nbroken in pieces [mentally and emotionally], bruised [in one\u2019s feelings], and\nshattered.\u00a0 <\/span>Nothing could be more\ndescriptive of the haunting from past memories.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Psychologists\nand psychiatrists are trained to look for events in people\u2019s lives \u2013 especially\ntheir past, and more particularly, their childhoods \u2013 that remain an ongoing\nand underlying subconscious affliction of the present.\u00a0 <\/span>My problem with psychologists and\npsychiatrists is that many, if not most, of them teach people to live with the\npast instead of receiving healing and deliverance from it.\u00a0 <\/span>The apostle Paul recognized that spiritual\ngrowth was absolutely predicated on getting past the past.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Philippians\n3:13-14: <\/span><\/u><\/b>Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended, but this one\nthing I do: forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto\nthose things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the\nhigh calling of God in Christ Jesus.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let\nme shift gears for a minute.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Sticks\nand stones may break my bones\u2026.\u00a0 <\/span>Sure,\nbut your bones can heal.\u00a0 <\/span>Quickly,\ntoo!\u00a0 <\/span>Words, on the other hand, may not\nbreak your bones, but uttered in the wrong way can destroy your spirit, and\nthat doesn\u2019t heal like broken bones.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

In an\nold edition of Another Coffee Break where I wrote about Della Denise, my wife,\nI talked about the fact that she brought her children to me to pray over (some\nsix months or so before we were married).\u00a0\n<\/span>I shared with you how the Lord spoke to me in that moment and said to\nme, \u201cI want you to be a father to these children.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\u2019ve\nalso shared how these children went through both physical, emotional, and\nmental abuse from their biological father.\u00a0\n<\/span>Physical injuries healed quickly.\u00a0\n<\/span>It took many years to deal with the emotional and mental abuse and\nrestore them to healthy status.\u00a0 <\/span>In order\nto deal with destructive words spoken against them, about them, to them, and in\ntheir hearing, it took a disciplined effort to speak life, to speak\nencouragement, to speak joy, to uplift, to uphold and to engender their\ncreativity again.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

During\nthe 1970\u2019s, while pastoring at Long\n Beach<\/st1:PlaceName> Christian<\/st1:PlaceName> Center<\/st1:PlaceName><\/st1:place>, I also served as Vice President\nof a California-based non-profit charitable organization known as Refuge Ministries,\nInc.\u00a0 <\/span>Refuge Ministries was in the\nbusiness of providing homes for abused and neglected children and battered\nwomen.\u00a0 <\/span>We had other purposes for our\nexistence as a charitable organization, but this was our primary\nobjective.\u00a0 <\/span>Our organization purchased\nhomes throughout the Los Angeles<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>\narea and opened them up to women and children who were the victims of abuse.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\nwill never forget the day, however, when one of the women who had taken\nadvantage of one of our homes came to my office at the church.\u00a0 <\/span>Her 12-year-old son was suffering from an\nextreme case of asthma.\u00a0 <\/span>It was growing\nworse and worse, to the point where he was having attacks while sleeping.\u00a0 <\/span>His mother feared that her son would die\nduring his sleep because of these asthma attacks.\u00a0 <\/span>Her son was with her when she came to my\noffice, and she was asking for prayer for him.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nHoly Spirit gave me a vision of the boy at the age of four, watching his mother\nget beaten by her husband and his threatening to kill her, and hearing his\nfather say that he was going to be next.\u00a0\n<\/span>I saw the Fear of Death enter into that boy in that instant, and\nrealized that it was this fear that was at the root of the asthma.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\nshared what I was seeing with the mother, and she broke.\u00a0 <\/span>The event had happened eight years before and\nshe had totally forgotten it.\u00a0 <\/span>We prayed,\nI rebuked the Fear of Death commanding it to leave the boy, and speaking\nhealing to his physical body.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nnext time I saw the lady, I asked her about the boy, and she said that his\nasthma attacks ended from the moment we prayed.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

You\nsee the significance, don\u2019t you?\u00a0 <\/span>We DO\nhave authority over this spirit.\u00a0 <\/span>The\nSpirit of Rejection is an intimidator, a threatener \u2013 and most significantly \u2013\na liar!\u00a0 <\/span>The symptoms that this spirit\nbeings on people can be canceled out totally!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n
