\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

Today, let\u2019s touch on an evil that has beset our\ngeneration, and has plagued both our nation and the body of Christ pretty much\nsince shortly after the turn of the 20th<\/sup> Century.\u00a0 <\/span>With Georgia and Alabama leading the way in\nthe news lately with their efforts to pass legislation essentially blocking all\nkinds of abortion, no matter the circumstance, and no matter the timing in a\nwoman\u2019s pregnancy, as well as the controversy surrounding the Virgina<\/span> governor\u2019s statement saying that it was OK to allow\na child to come to full birth, then keep it alive, until a decision was made to\nkill it, the controversy surrounding abortion has taken center stage.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

Let\u2019s tackle this subject today from a Scriptural\nstandpoint. <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

Della and I were having a\ndiscussion with some close friends one day and Della was sharing how the Lord\ngave her a real revelation of something she has seen in a natural realm.\u00a0\nI'm going to try and break this down as near as possible to what the Lord\nshowed her, and add those things that the Holy Spirit has continued to grow in\nmy own understanding since.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We all know how much our\nsociety today has been infiltrated and contaminated with the arrogance of the\nmyth of \"a woman's right to choose.\"\u00a0 It permeates our\nmedia.\u00a0 It fills the airwaves.\u00a0 It underlies some of the popular\nmusic of the day.\u00a0 The \"abortion rights\" movement has become so\nvocal in our culture that fear-ruled Christian leaders and politicians do a\ndance with political correctness in their speeches and sermons in order to\navoid head-to-head confrontations.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Abortion, however, is rooted\ndeeply in humanism and the very character of Satan.\u00a0 Christians have been\nplagued with a Spirit of Abortion unknowingly.\u00a0 It has been so much a part\nof the sin nature that until it is revealed and dealt with, many believers wage\nwar within themselves, often mis<\/span>-identifying a very\nspecific evil spirit as just a part of their \"flesh.\"<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let's take this back to its\nvery beginning.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Take a look at Genesis 3<\/st1:bcv_smarttag>: <\/span>\"Now the serpent\nwas more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he\nsaid unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the\ngarden?\u00a0 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of\nthe trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of\nthe garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it,\nlest ye die.\u00a0 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely\ndie: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be\nopened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.\u00a0 And when the\nwoman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the\neyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof,\nand did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.\"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Ever notice something about\nthis episode?\u00a0 How the temptation of the serpent specifically appealed to\nwhat pleased Eve?\u00a0 How the temptation was designed to get at Eve's\n\"ME, ME\" desires?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let's break this down.\u00a0\nWhat is Satan really saying to Eve?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u201cGod isn't really interested\nin YOU, personally.\u00a0 What are YOU getting out of this deal, anyway?\u00a0\nHe's just created a rule or a command that will keep YOU from actually being\nlike Him.\u00a0 He doesn't want you to be like Him because then He wouldn't\nhave any more power over you.\u00a0 You'd be just as powerful as He is.\u00a0\nSee?\u00a0 All you have to do is eat of this fruit.\u00a0 Enjoy its\npleasures.\u00a0 Enjoy the taste!\u00a0 Lady, this fruit not only looks good,\nit tastes good!\u00a0 See what YOU are missing?\u00a0 All YOU have to do is eat\nof this and YOU will be as wise as God.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

And, brother, did Eve ever\nfall for his line!\u00a0 You see what made Satan's hogwash so appealing?\u00a0\nHis argument appealed to her senses.\u00a0 It appealed to her desires.\u00a0 It\nappealed to her sensitivities.\u00a0 It appealed to her SELF and her\nSelf-image.\u00a0 Satan's arguments were specifically ordered in such a way\nthat Eve's person, her personal desires and priorities became THE priority --\nNOT God's, and certainly not Adam's.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

What was Eve going to get out\nof this command from God that <\/span>\"ye shall not eat of\n[the tree of the knowledge of good and evil]; neither shall ye touch it, lest\nye die\"<\/span><\/i><\/b>?\u00a0 How was God's command going to bring any pleasure to\nher?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

By the way, Eve added to\nGod's command here.\u00a0 God DID NOT say, \"neither shall ye touch it,\nlest ye die.\"\u00a0 What God had said was -- very simply -- <\/span>\"But\nof the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt<\/span>\nnot eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest<\/span>\nthereof thou shalt<\/span> surely die.\"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

By now, you're getting the\npicture, I'm sure.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Satan was appealing to\nsomething in Eve that had never been appealed to before: SELF.\u00a0 Everything\nabout God's creation, everything about the creation of Man, was created to\nsatisfy love -- <\/span>agape<\/span><\/i> love.\u00a0 Adam and Eve had been created for love -- God's love.\u00a0\nThey had been created IN love.\u00a0 They had been created for God's pleasure,\nand in bringing Him pleasure and fulfillment, they would have the ultimate\nfulfillment themselves.\u00a0 SELF was not the priority.\u00a0 SELF would\nreceive complete fulfillment in God.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Satan's trick was to separate\nSELF from God and from relationship with Him, making it a separate identity of\nits own.\u00a0 In so doing, he was able to make Eve focus on her own needs and\ndesires in such a way that she began to consider them separately and apart from\nGod, from Adam, and from her first priorities in life.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When Eve responded to the\nlying and deceptive trick of Satan, SELF-ishness<\/span> was\nincorporated into the human genome for the first time.\u00a0 And because the\ndeception came through the woman, it birthed the myth of \"a woman's right\nto choose.\"\u00a0 Get the picture?\u00a0 That's how old this thing is!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Thus, a woman suddenly had\nthe \"right\" to make decisions independently of God, independently of\nher husband and\/or independently of the laws or commands of God.\u00a0 Or so\nshe thought.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

What was missing from this\nso-called \"right\" was the other side of the equation.\u00a0 What came\nwith the \"right\" was death and destruction to herself.\u00a0 What\ncame with the \"right\" was pain and suffering so unimaginable that had\nEve<\/span> been able to foresee the consequences of her\n\"choice,\" she would have run as far as possible to escape even the\nsound of the serpent's voice.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

But the cat was out of the\nbag, so to speak.\u00a0 Once the \"choice\" was made, and Eve ate of\nthe forbidden fruit; and then handed it to Adam to eat -- the\ncommunication-link in the realm of the Spirit was broken.\u00a0 The rest of it\nis history.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We have no further evidence\nin Scripture following Adam and Eve's forced departure from the Garden that\nthey ever again had face-to-face communication with the Lord.\u00a0 Forced to\nstand on their own, they were also forced to become self-sufficient.\u00a0 They\nhad to work for a living instead of simply tending to God's Creation in an\nenvironment of love.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

With their eviction from the\nGarden also came the fear of the unknown.\u00a0 Their disobedience to God\nbrought the Fear of Evil, the Fear of Man, and the Fear of Death into the human\nframe, the human genetic structure, and -- in every individual born into the\nhuman race from that point forward -- the genesis of fear, which is the polar\nopposite of faith and love.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

In a fear-based existence,\nthose who found within themselves the ability to overcome their environment,\ntheir natural enemies, and their brethren also found an arrogance.\u00a0 In\nthat arrogance was \"Me first.\"\u00a0 \"What I want\" and\n\"what I wish for\" became paramount.\u00a0 It didn't take long for\n\"Me first\" to exhibit its arrogance in Cain's anger over God's\nrejection of his sacrifice.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u201cWell, if God is going to\naccept Abel's sacrifice over mine, we can fix that!\u00a0 All I have to do is\nget rid of Abel, and then God will have to accept my sacrifice!\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

And fear, arrogance and\nselfishness begat murder.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

You see now, don't you, the\nprogression?\u00a0 Satan made the woman the target of his lies and\ndeception.\u00a0 He made her the target of his own arrogance and fear; and when\nshe fell prey to his wiles, all those things inherent in the families of fear\n(whom Satan fathered) began to target first the female species.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

And why not?\u00a0 Think\nabout it logically, for a minute.\u00a0 If Satan can turn a woman, he's got the\nman.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Anybody who thinks the woman\nis the weaker sex is just plain nuts!\u00a0 The Scripture does not say that she\nis, incidentally.\u00a0 When you read the Greek text of I Peter 3:7, it more\nproperly renders like this,<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\"Husbands, dwell\nwith your wives according to knowledge, treating them and ministering to their\nneeds, honoring them as though they were the weaker vessel, and as being heirs\ntogether of the grace of life.....\"<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

But that's a topic I don't\nwant to get off on today because it sidetracks the issue.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We could take another\nside-trip today, as well, on the history of child-murder throughout history,\nand especially as it occurred with the demonic worship of false gods --\nBaal-worship most notably.\u00a0 I won't take that trip other than to note once\nagain (as I have in the past) that the use of children as suicide bombers by\nthe Islamic terrorists is a natural extension of their worship of Allah (who is\nnone other than Baal).<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let's cut to the chase.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The sacrifice of children -- whether\nit was to Molech<\/span> (see Deuteronomy\n 12:31, 32:17<\/st1:bcv_smarttag>) or to any of the gods of the nations that\noccupied Canaan (see also Leviticus 18:21, 20:2-5<\/st1:bcv_smarttag>)\n-- was commonplace among the nations God commanded Israel to destroy and wipe\noff the face of the earth.\u00a0 Israel's failure to keep God's command, and\ntheir compromise with those nations allowed the spirit to survive in the earth\nthat drove and compelled the sacrifice of children for one's own expediency.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

And that is the key to\nunderstanding what drives abortion.\u00a0 Society has euphemistically referred\nto it in nice, conveniently sanitized terms, such as \"the right to\nchoose,\" or \"a woman's right over her own body,\" but the hard,\ncold truth is that it is nothing less than murder for convenience' sake.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The unborn child is an\ninconvenience.<\/span><\/i><\/b>\u00a0 Brother!\u00a0 The excuses are multitudinous.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The unborn child is the\nproduct of rape.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b> The unborn child will\nmost likely come into the world deformed, or with severe birth defects; and\nthat would be cruel and inhumane.\u00a0 I can't afford another child.<\/o:p><\/i><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n

On and on it goes.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The bottom line is that the\nwoman who makes such an excuse (or the guy responsible for the pregnancy in the\nfirst place) is fearful, is selfish, is arrogant, and couldn't give a rip about\nwhat God has to say in the matter.\u00a0 God's Word gets last place in any\nargument.\u00a0 Want to know how strongly God felt against the murder of\nchildren?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Then take a look at Leviticus 20:2-5<\/st1:bcv_smarttag>.\u00a0 Not only does God set His\nface against those who commit this kind of murder, he pronounces strong\njudgment against those who stand by, do nothing and allow it to happen.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

There's a unique phrase that\noccurs in the Hebrew text of Leviticus 20:5<\/st1:bcv_smarttag>.\u00a0\nOur English translations put it, <\/span>\"to commit\nwhoredom with Molech<\/span>.\"\u00a0 <\/span>It's\npretty strong when you read it in Hebrew, and one can easily render it, <\/span>\"to\nengage in agreement and intercourse with those who worship Molech<\/span>\n(with the plan to abort or murder the offspring as part of the ritual).\"<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

God makes it abundantly clear\nthat He sets His face (His plan and purpose for life, for abundance and for\nprosperity) against not only the one who commits such child-murder, but against\nthe future generations of those who commit such atrocities, even to the cutting\noff of their seed forever.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Tragically, many Christian\nwomen live under the condemnation of the Enemy because of past abortions, or\nbecause of previous generations of family who have had abortions.\u00a0 There\nis a blood-guilt that comes with abortion unlike any other sense of guilt with\nany other sin.\u00a0 It is spiritual, and it is demonic.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Were I to leave this\ndiscussion at this point, it would leave many women stuck with their\ncondemnation and guilt-ridden.\u00a0 However, the Lord foresaw the consequences\nof this and made a way of deliverance from that spirit.\u00a0 That's where we\nwill take this discussion next week.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n
