OUR COVENANT, Part 7<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

Today, if possible, I want to finish\nthe part of our discussion dealing with <\/span><\/b>\u00e3\u00f1•\u00e7•<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/b>kheseed<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>.<\/span><\/i><\/b> \u00a0\u00a0<\/span>When I first began\nthis part of the sharing, it didn\u2019t dawn on me that it was going to become so\nexhaustive but buckle your seatbelts, when we start to expand on this concept\nwith regard to the establishing of the United States of America, you will see\nCovenant repeated again and again and again.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

Our founding fathers fully\nunderstood the principle of Covenant.\u00a0\n<\/span>They realized that if there was going to be a Covenant to establish a\nnew nation, it had to be a Covenant with God, since He was and is the author,\nthe Creator, the backup and support of any real Covenant.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

Let\u2019s get back to where we left off\nlast week.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

The\nLord had -- with His covenant -- given Israel <\/span>\"the\nabundance of all things.\"<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>All that He was, and all that He had\nwas given to Israel as His covenant people in the earth.\u00a0 They were to be\nHis personal representative.\u00a0 They were to show the rest of the world the\npath to redemption from the curse that came upon the entire human race when\nAdam and Eve subjected themselves -- and their descendants -- to the bondage of\nSatan.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

With\nthat position as God's covenant people came immeasurable blessing -- almost incalculable\nblessing!\u00a0 With that position came God's power and authority in the earth.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

With\nit came<\/span> <\/span>\u00e3\u00f1•\u00e7•<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/b>kheseed<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

With it\ncame the promise that\u2026.<\/span> <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Deuteronomy\n28:10, 13<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>\"All people of\nthe earth shall see that thou art called by the name <\/span>(shem<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>\/onoma<\/span> -- patria<\/span><\/i> - lineage<\/span><\/b>)<\/span>\n<\/span>of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.....<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and\nthou shalt<\/span> be above only, and thou shalt<\/span> not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the\ncommandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and\nto do them..\"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Get it?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Thus, it\nrequired agape-kheseed<\/span><\/span><\/i><\/b>, <\/span><\/i>which empowered Israel's faith, and caused\nthat nation to believe the Word of the Lord, which was the embodiment of His\ncovenant.\u00a0 As I noted yesterday, this isn't something he gives just a tiny\nbit of: He gave Israel the capacity -- under that covenant --to become His holy\npeople.\u00a0 He gave Israel <\/span>\"..according to the riches\nof His glory..\"\u00a0 -- \"..that (they) might be filled with all the\nfullness of God.\"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Understand?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nTabernacle of Moses was a picture -- a graphic representation -- of the\ncovenant, all the way from unregenerate and unredeemed death and destruction\nunder the bondage of Satan to a living relationship, walking and talking with\nthe Lord in the Holy of Holies.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Human\nflesh, however, is stubborn and recalcitrant; and natural Israel -- at least up\nto David's day -- had gone astray time after time after time after time.\u00a0\nThe nation had gone through periods of repeated assault from their enemies and\noccasional captivity only to be delivered by the Hand of God when they cried\nout for a deliverer.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

David knew\nthat the nation had somehow never really seen the heart of the Lord.\u00a0 He\nknew they had missed out on the truth and power of the covenant God had\nmade.\u00a0 He saw beyond the symbolism of the Tabernacle of Moses to the Ark\nof the Covenant as a picture of Israel's marriage to the Lord God.\u00a0 He saw\nbeyond the symbolism of the Golden Candlestick to a worshiping people -- a\npeople whose hearts exploded with a flame of love for their Bridegroom.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

So David\nset out to draw THAT picture ONLY in a way that anyone and everyone could\nrelate.\u00a0 He pitched a simple tent on top of Mount Moriah<\/span>.\u00a0\nIt was the same place where Shem had originally built his citadel as a place of\nrefuge for his bride and established Salem as an outpost of righteousness in an\notherwise heathen land.\u00a0 It was the same place where Abraham had taken\nIsaac to offer him up as a sacrifice to the Lord in direct obedience to God's\ncommand.\u00a0 It was the same place where the Lord had provided \"a lamb\nfor a sacrifice\" in Isaac's place.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

In that\ntent -- with its flaps open for all Israel to see -- was placed the Ark of the\nCovenant.\u00a0 NOW Israel would see their marriage covenant with the\nLord.\u00a0 Instead of bringing the Golden Candlestick over from Moses'\nTabernacle in Gilgal<\/span>, David appointed the families of\nAsaph<\/span>, Heman<\/span> and Jeduthun<\/span> to become a living golden candlestick: a people\nwhose entire life would be given over to minister love to the Lord God and to\nshow Israel just what could come from that covenant relationship.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

And he\nsucceeded in a way that no one had ever before succeeded.\u00a0 The nation\nbegan to prosper as it had never prospered.\u00a0 They had victory over all of\ntheir enemies.\u00a0 Kings and leaders of nations and tribes began to sue for\npeace with David and with Israel.\u00a0 The land began to bring forth as it had\nnever before brought forth.\u00a0 The people prospered.\u00a0 David\nprospered.\u00a0 And Israel, for the first time in its history, actually became\na nation that worshipped God.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

For some\nreason, God's people have missed this picture.\u00a0 America was founded upon a\ncovenant with the Lord -- despite what the mainstream (or \u201clamestream<\/span>\u201d)\nmedia loves to push off on the public.\u00a0 The time has come for this nation\nto return to the Lord, and to the covenant our forefathers made with Him in\nestablishing us as \"one nation under God.\"<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Allow me\nto digress for a minute.\u00a0 <\/span>It is for that\npurpose that River Worship Center has been established.\u00a0 Our vision is to\nbring about a place where people will gather -- people whom the Lord has\ncalled, trained, equipped, prepared and anointed in the same way that Asaph<\/span>, Heman<\/span> and Jeduthun<\/span> were -- to minister to the Lord Jesus Christ in\npraise and worship.\u00a0 Our goal is generating a place where folks will\ngather in teams around the clock to minister to the Lord in shifts, 24 hours a\nday.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We know\nfrom past experience what happens in the realm of the Spirit when this begins\nto take place.\u00a0 We know -- by vision and by the direct Word of the Lord to\nus -- what God's purpose is for this nation, and where He intends to take this\nworship.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

It is a\nsmall beginning.\u00a0 We are only a few people at this moment in time.\u00a0\nBut we have the Word of the Lord: <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Zechariah\n4:10<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b>\"For who hath\ndespised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice and shall see the\nplummet in the hand of Zerubbabel<\/span> with those seven;\nthey are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole\nearth.\"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Early on\nin our series on Covenant, I made a statement that raised a few eyebrows:\nnamely, that Adam and Eve, being made in the express image of God, in His\nlikeness and makeup, had the ability to speak things into being.\u00a0 I cited\nfrom the example that the Lord brought to Adam every living creature to see\nwhat he would call them, \"and whatsoever Adam called every living\ncreature, that was the \"name\" thereof.\"<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This word,\n\"name,\" of course, comes from the Hebrew<\/span> <\/span>\u00edL<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/b>shem<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>.<\/span><\/i>\u00a0 <\/span><\/i>Paralleling the\nGreek, onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>,<\/span><\/b><\/span> <\/span>it is a whole lot more than \"dog, cat,\nelephant, horse,\" etc.\u00a0 The word<\/span>, <\/span>\u00edL<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/b>shem<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>, represents the\nvery nature, the character, the makeup, the personality -- what makes one what\nthey are.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Thus, Adam\nwas not simply coming up with some kind of name that popped in his head: he was\ndeclaring and decreeing the character and makeup -- the very nature -- of each\nanimal as the Lord brought it before him.\u00a0 That was creative power in\naction.\u00a0 Adam spoke the nature of every living creature into\nexistence.\u00a0 He \"called those things that are not as though they\nwere,\" thus speaking life (in this case, animal life) into existence.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\nshouldn't have to say this, but some folks may draw the wrong conclusions from\nmy words, so let me be specific.\u00a0 Adam was not creating life in the same\nsense that God created life by breathing His breath into Adam.\u00a0 He was not\ncreating life out of the dust of the earth.\u00a0 Rather he was speaking life\nin the sense of personality and nature into these heretofore robotic creatures\nthat made them what they are.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That may\nbe a concept that escapes some folks, but his decrees were not academic\nsayings: they were life commands that caused every animal to take on the nature\nand makeup that we now know of those animals.\u00a0 Prior to Adam's decree, the\nanimals had no particular distinctive character or personality or makeup.\u00a0\nThey were just \"living creatures\" without any real identity.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

It is\nimportant to understand this concept because it is at the very heart and center\nof covenant.\u00a0 Bear with me.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Proverbs\n18:21<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>\"Death and life\nare in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit\nthereof.\"<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

That is\nnot a metaphor, or a figure of speech: it is a covenant statement.\u00a0 How\nabout this one?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Proverbs\n18:20<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>\"A man's belly\nshall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth, and with the increase of his\nlips shall he be filled.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I quit\ncounting after I passed more than 600 references in Scripture to the truth of <\/span>\"Death\nand life are in the power of the tongue...,\"<\/span> <\/span>as they relate to\nthe words that we say, the things that come forth from our mouths.\u00a0 I\nsuspect that number of references in Scripture to the words we say, the\nstatements we make -- for good or evil -- easily exceeds a thousand in the Old\nTestament alone.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let me get\nto something that Jesus said; and this is specific and germane to covenant: <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Mark\n11:23-24<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b>\"For verily I\nsay unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and\nbe thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe\nthat those things which he saith<\/span> shall come to pass; he\nshall have whatsoever he saith<\/span><\/u>.\u00a0 Therefore,\nI say unto you, What things soever<\/span> ye desire, when ye\npray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.\"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Why do I\nsay that this is specific to covenant?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Were it\nnot for the fact that every word which proceeds out of the mouth of God carries\nwith it the creative power and empowerment to bring it to pass, there would be\nno covenant.\u00a0 If we are to enter into covenant with the Lord, that same\ncreative power must be there for our part to be enacted and come to pass.\u00a0\nWe must have, therefore, <\/span>\"whatsoever we say.\"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The very fact that so many (un)-believing\nChristians fail to have what they say is because they almost immediately cancel\nout whatever positive, life-giving, creative power they hope for by\nconditioning their speech with doubt, unbelief and fear.\u00a0 They have what\nthey say, all right: death, destruction, sickness, poverty, need, weakness,\netc.\u00a0 They cancel the benefits of their covenant with the Lord by virtue\nof the destructive power of their speech.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We were\ncreated to be like God in every respect, save that we cannot be Him and be the\nultimate ruler of the universe.\u00a0 Yet we have been empowered by covenant,\nas Paul writes,<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Ephesians\n2:6-7<\/span><\/u><\/b>\n<\/span>\"And [He] hath raised us up together, and made us sit\ntogether in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might show\nthe exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ\nJesus.\"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

THAT's not\na figure of speech.\u00a0 It isn't a metaphor.\u00a0 It is a covenant truth\nthat places us -- as faith-parties to the New Covenant -- on the throne of the heavenlies<\/span> LITERALLY!\u00a0 It is a covenant truth enacted\nby the agape<\/span><\/i><\/b> love of the Lord Jesus Christ for us.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Do you\nunderstand that it is agape-kheseed<\/span><\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span>that\nempowers covenant, both for us and through us?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I said it\nyesterday, and I'll say it again.\u00a0 It required agape-kheseed<\/span>, <\/span><\/i>which empowered Israel's faith, and\ncaused that nation to believe the Word of the Lord, which was the embodiment of\nHis covenant.\u00a0 Just as He gave Israel <\/span>\"..according to\nthe riches of His glory..\"\u00a0 -- \"..that (they) might be filled\nwith all the fullness of God,\"<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>He has given to us\nin an even greater measure<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n
