It has been a constant source\nof amazement to me that Jesus has always been painted as poor and indigent --\nnever mind what the Word clearly states.\u00a0\n<\/span>Ever since the Council of Nicaea in 325 A.D., error after error after\nerror has crept into the body of Christ and promulgated with traditions that\nhave no validity in the Word.\u00a0 <\/span>The\ncompromises that Constantine made with church leaders in order to bring the\nRoman Army into the church and declare them to be \"Christian\" have\ncontaminated the truth ever since.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n

Before\nwe launch into some Biblical and historical facts, let me strongly recommend\nthe following DVD to you and a good site where you can purchase it.\u00a0 <\/span>Christian Book Distributors (CBD) sells <\/span>THE\nSTAR OF BETHLEHEM<\/span><\/i><\/b> (here's the site: <\/span><\/i><\/b>http:\/\/www.christianbook.com\/star-bethlehem-dvd\/pd\/806763?kw=dvd%20star%20of%20bethlehem&mt=b&dv=c&event=PPCSRC&p=1018818&gclid=CPn6kcOBhcICFSVk7Aod7X4AXA<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/a>)<\/span><\/i><\/b> produced by\nattorney, Stephen McEveety.\u00a0 <\/span>My reason\nfor recommending this DVD to you is that it provides extremely accurate\nastronomical data in demonstrating just when Jesus was born and when the Magi\nvisited Him.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

We've\nall been contaminated throughout the generations with the idea that Jesus was\nborn on what amounts to December 25th on the Julian calendar.\u00a0 <\/span>The problem with the Julian calendar is that\nit is totally out of sync with God's calendar -- the calendar everyone likes to\nrefer to as the Hebrew or Jewish calendar.\u00a0\n<\/span>It misses completely the Word that was given at Creation when God\nspecifically said:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Genesis 1:14-18,\nKJV<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\n<\/span>And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the\nheaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for\nseasons, and for days, and years<\/u>: \u00a0<\/span><\/sup>And let them be for lights in the\nfirmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. \u00a0<\/span><\/sup>And God made two great lights; the\ngreater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he\nmade<\/i> the stars also. \u00a0<\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<\/span>And God set them in the firmament of the\nheaven to give light upon the earth, \u00a0<\/span><\/sup>And to rule over the day and over the\nnight, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was<\/i>\ngood.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nkey here is that God specifically made the Sun, the Moon and the Stars -- NOT\njust for a division between day and night, but for His signs, for seasons, for\ndays and for years!\u00a0 <\/span>That's critical to\nour understanding as we move forward.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

With\nthis concept firmly planted let's look now at some specific days that God\nordained to be set aside as His days.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

First\nis the Feast of Passover.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\"And thus shall ye eat it; with<\/i> your loins girded,\nyour shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in\nhaste: it is<\/i> the LORD\u2019S Passover.\"<\/span>\u00a0\n<\/span>(Exodus 12:11)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\"And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye\nshall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep\nit a feast by an ordinance forever<\/u><\/span>.\"<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>(Exodus 12:14)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\"And ye shall observe the feast of<\/i> unleavened bread;\nfor in this selfsame day have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt: therefore\nshall ye observe this day in your generations by an ordinance forever<\/u>. \u00a0<\/span><\/sup>In the first month<\/i>, on the\nfourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the\none and twentieth day of the month at even. \u00a0<\/span><\/sup>Seven days shall there be no leaven\nfound in your houses: for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even that\nsoul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a\nstranger, or born in the land. \u00a0<\/span><\/sup>Ye\nshall eat nothing leavened; in all your habitations shall ye eat unleavened\nbread.\"<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>(Exodus 12:17-20)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

What\nwe see with this Feast is that this was an event to be celebrated\n\"forever!\"\u00a0 <\/span>That word in the\nHebrew text is 'olam<\/span><\/i><\/b> -- a word which can be\ntranslated: <\/span>throughout\nthe eternity of the eternities<\/span><\/u><\/b>.\u00a0\n<\/span>This was not just a Jewish feast, or one that Israel ONLY was supposed\nto keep: this feast was kept by Christians continually until Constantine's\n\"Edict of Toleration\" in which Christians were forbidden to honor it.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let's\ncontinue.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

In\nthe seventh month on God's calendar, He specified the following feasts:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Leviticus 23:24-25,\nKJV<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Speak unto the children of\nIsrael, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day<\/i> of the month,\nshall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets<\/u>, an holy\nconvocation. \u00a0<\/span><\/sup>Ye shall do no\nservile work therein<\/i>: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto\nthe LORD.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nfirst day of the seventh month, therefore, begins with what we know as\n\"The Feast of Trumpets.\"\u00a0 <\/span>Then\nwe see the following:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Leviticus 23:26-31,\nKJV<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>And the LORD spake unto\nMoses, saying, \u00a0<\/span><\/sup>Also on the\ntenth day<\/i> of this seventh month there shall be<\/u><\/i> a day of\natonement<\/u>: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict\nyour souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD. \u00a0<\/span><\/sup>And ye shall do no work in that same\nday: for it is<\/i> a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before\nthe LORD your God. \u00a0<\/span><\/sup>For\nwhatsoever soul it be<\/i> that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he\nshall be cut off from among his people. \u00a0<\/span><\/sup>And whatsoever soul it be<\/i> that\ndoeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his\npeople. \u00a0<\/span><\/sup>Ye shall do no manner\nof work: it shall be<\/i> a statute for ever throughout your generations in\nall your dwellings.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Thus,\non the tenth day of the seventh month, we see the Day of Atonement.\u00a0 <\/span>There's a term that appears here that gets\nmissed in the English translation out of the Hebrew, the word, dor<\/span><\/i><\/b> (which comes from the root, dur<\/span><\/i><\/b>) and is translated\n\"generations.\"\u00a0 <\/span>In fact, the\nword more properly translates as: <\/span>a revolution of time<\/span>.\u00a0 <\/span>The root word, dur<\/span><\/i><\/b>,\nmeans: <\/span>to revolve, to move continually in a circle<\/span>.\u00a0 <\/span>While the translation,\n\"generations,\" certainly applies, our English word loses the picture\nof revolving continually without end -- hence, <\/span>time\nwithout end<\/span><\/b>!\u00a0 <\/span>I'll talk more about this momentarily.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

But\nwe're not done with the seventh month.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Leviticus 23:33-41,\nKJV<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>And the LORD spake unto\nMoses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day\nof this seventh month shall be<\/i> the feast of tabernacles<\/u> for<\/i>\nseven days unto the LORD. \u00a0<\/span><\/sup>On\nthe first day shall be<\/i> an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein<\/i>.\n\u00a0<\/span><\/sup>Seven days ye shall offer an\noffering made by fire unto the LORD: on the eighth day shall be an holy\nconvocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the\nLORD: it is<\/i> a solemn assembly; and<\/i> ye shall do no servile work therein<\/i>.\n\u00a0<\/span><\/sup>These are<\/i> the feasts\nof the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be<\/i> holy convocations, to offer\nan offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, and a meat offering,\na sacrifice, and drink offerings, everything upon his day: \u00a0<\/span><\/sup>Beside the sabbaths of the LORD, and\nbeside your gifts, and beside all your vows, and beside all your freewill\nofferings, which ye give unto the LORD. \u00a0<\/span><\/sup>Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh\nmonth, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast\nunto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be<\/i> a sabbath, and on\nthe eighth day shall be<\/i> a sabbath. \u00a0<\/span><\/sup>And ye shall take you on the first day\nthe boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick\ntrees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God\nseven days. \u00a0<\/span><\/sup>And ye shall keep\nit a feast unto the LORD seven days in the year. It shall be<\/u><\/i> a\nstatute forever in your generations<\/u>: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh\nmonth.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

During\nthe early years of the body of Christ -- in fact, during the first couple of\ncenturies -- Christians kept these feasts.\u00a0\n<\/span>They understood that God's command to keep these feasts 'olam<\/span><\/i><\/b> -- <\/span>throughout the eternity of the eternities<\/span><\/u><\/b> -- didn't just\napply to the Jews under the Mosaic Law, God's command applied to His people --\nand there was no question that as Christians, they had been grafted into God's\nselect company.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Sadly,\nChristians today have been stuck with the belief that to keep these feasts is\nto be stuck with and caught up in legalism.\u00a0\n<\/span>To be sure, we don't offer burnt offerings; WE are the burnt offering\nunto the Lord, having been purified by the blood of Jesus and by the Holy Ghost\nand fire!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Now,\nI know many of you are looking cross-eyed at me and saying, \"What in the\nworld does any of this have to do with Christmas?\"\u00a0 <\/span>My first answer to you is, \"watch the\nDVD, <\/span>THE\nSTAR OF BETHLEHEM<\/span><\/i><\/b>.\"\u00a0 <\/span>My second answer is, \"consider the\nsignificance of the dates on the Hebrew calendar within the framework of Jesus'\nbirth, His death on the Cross, His resurrection, His command to the disciples\nto NOT go forth to teach or to preach \"until ye be endued with power from\non high\" -- and event which began with Pentecost -- and, finally, His\npromise that He would return to dwell with us again.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Consider,\nnow the following implications of these feasts, and how they relate.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

On\nthe night that Jesus was born, Luke records that shepherds were in the fields,\nwatching their flocks during the night.\u00a0\n<\/span>That is not a wintertime event in Israel.\u00a0 <\/span>Because Luke tells us that the angel of the\nLord came to tell the shepherds of the birth of the Messiah, and immediately\nfollowing the sky was filled with angelic hosts praising God and saying,\n\"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace, good will toward\nmen.\"<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

According\nto all that we can ascertain historically, and considering corresponding events\nin the heavens that are clearly recorded, this would have happened as early as\nthe fourth of September on our calendar (and the first day of the seventh month\non the Hebrew calendar, Tishrei), or as late as the 24th of September (also the\nfirst day of the seventh month on the Hebrew calendar).\u00a0 <\/span>This places Jesus' birth on the Feast of\nTrumpets.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Using\nthe phenomenal work that Stephen McEveety did with his astronomical research as\nit relates to the Star of Bethlehem that announced Jesus' birth, and the travel\ntime that it took the Magi to reach the young child after having seen the Star,\nwe know from the Greek text of Matthew 2:8 that by the time they reached Jesus,\nthat he was above two years of age.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

How\ndo we know this, you ask?\u00a0 <\/span>The Greek word\nused in Matthew 2:8 is the word, paidion<\/span><\/i><\/b>.\u00a0 <\/span>This word is significant because it does not\ndescribe a new-born babe.\u00a0 <\/span>Consider the\nfive words in Greek that describe the growth and development of a person.\u00a0 <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

(1)<\/span><\/b> Brephos<\/span><\/i><\/b> describes a child in the womb\nbetween conception and birth.\u00a0 <\/span>(2)<\/span><\/b> Nepios<\/span><\/i><\/b> describes a child between birth and\nthe age of two when it is expected that the child has been weaned from the\nmother's milk.\u00a0 <\/span>(3) <\/span>Paidion<\/span><\/i><\/b> describes a child\nafter being weaned from the mother's breast until it reaches the age of 12 (for\na boy) or 13 (for a girl).<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

(4)<\/span><\/b> Teknon<\/span><\/i><\/b> describes a child who has reached\nthe age of accountability.\u00a0 <\/span>[From a spiritual\nperspective, Paul describes this in Galatians 4:1-2 as <\/span>\"being\nunder tutors and governors until the time appointed by the father.\"<\/span>]\u00a0 <\/span>The ceremony for a boy at age 12 is bar-mitzvah<\/span><\/i><\/b>.\u00a0 <\/span>The ceremony for a girl at age 13 is known as\nbat-mitzvah<\/span><\/i><\/b>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

(5)<\/span><\/b> Huios<\/span><\/i><\/b> is the word that describes a son who\nhas generally reached the approximate age of 30, has finished his tutoring and\nhas father's approval to act in his stead to operate father's business in his\nname.\u00a0 <\/span>Once \"the time appointed of\nthe father\" is reached, a general ceremony takes place in which father\nannounces to his friends and associates, \"this is my beloved son in whom I\nam well pleased.\"<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

As\nis obvious, it takes no great imagination to see this same pattern unfolding\nwith Jesus.\u00a0 <\/span>Tracking the position in the\nsky of the Star of Bethlehem that led the Magi to Jesus in Bethlehem, we have\nevery reason to believe that they arrived at the home of Mary and Joseph to\nbestow their incredible and lavish gifts on this young \"King of\nKings\" on December 25th, if you correlate it to the Julian calendar.\u00a0 <\/span>Going back to my opening commentary on the\nfact that so many Christians think Jesus lived His life in abject poverty, the\nMagi came to see Jesus \u2013 either as kings themselves, or as representing kings\nfrom major eastern countries \u2013 to honor Him as the King of Kings.\u00a0 <\/span>Kings NEVER brought token gifts to other\nkings, and in this case, the Magi would have brought lavish gifts.\u00a0 <\/span>If we use the analogy of the Queen of Sheba\nbringing what calculates in modern terms to the equivalent of $119 Million in\ngold as a gift honoring Solomon, the Magi would have brought nothing less to\nthe One they were honoring as the King of Kings!!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\nhave no problem celebrating December 25th as an important day in Jesus' life,\nbut it was not the day that Jesus was born.\u00a0\n<\/span>Using Steven McEveety\u2019s calculations from the signs in the Heavens, it\nis most probably the day that Jesus was conceived in Mary\u2019s womb \u2013 the day that\nthe Angel, Gabriel, appeared to her and announced that she would be the mother\nof the long-awaited Messiah!\u00a0 <\/span>December\n25th was a day adopted by Constantine in agreement with the various bishops --\na day that corresponded with a heathen feast, Saturnalia, on the Roman\ncalendar.\u00a0 <\/span>Constantine issued an edict in\nutter ignorance of God's commands which forbade the Christians to observe what\nhe called \"Jewish feast days,\" when in fact Christians had been\ncelebrating them continuously.\u00a0 <\/span>Jesus\nkept the feasts, and the feasts were signs of major events on God's calendar.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Let\nme wrap up quickly today by saying that at the exact moment during the Feast of\nPassover at 3:00 PM in the afternoon (specifically on the Day of Atonement)\nwhen the High Priest was slitting the throat of the sacrificial lamb, Jesus\nexpired on the Cross -- slain for the sins of the world as the once-and-for-all\nsacrifice.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

When\nJesus rose from the dead and appeared to hundreds of people over a period of\nsome 40 days, and then prepared to ascend into heaven, he instructed the\ndisciples to \"tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem until ye be endued with\npower from on High.\"<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Fifty\ndays from the day that He was crucified and died on the Cross, the Feast of\nPentecost was celebrated, and Luke tells us in Acts 2 that when the day of\nPentecost <\/span>\"was fully come\"<\/span> the disciples, their families and others\nwho had joined with them <\/span>\"were all with one accord in one place.\"<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Luke\ngoes on to tell us of the unfolding of Pentecost as Holy Spirit appeared as\nfire, tongues of fire sat down on the heads of those gathered, <\/span>\"And\nthey were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other\ntongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.\"<\/span>\u00a0\n<\/span>Thus, the Feast of Pentecost -- as a feast to be commemorated\ncontinually among God's people -- took on the manifestation that Jesus promised\nbefore He ascended into Heaven.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

If\nI understand anything at all regarding the Feasts being a fulfillment of God's\ntimetable for His people, then we can expect Jesus to return to fulfill the\nFeast of Tabernacles in order to dwell with us continually.\u00a0 <\/span>The Feast of Tabernacles is on the 15th day\nof the seventh month, the month of Tishrei.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Thus\nwe see the pattern unfolding in Tishrei: (1) <\/span><\/b>on the first day of the month, we\ncelebrate the Feast of Trumpets -- the day that Jesus was born; (2) <\/span><\/b>on\nthe 10th day of the month, we celebrate the Feast of Atonement, when Jesus\nbecame the sacrificial lamb -- the <\/span>\"Lamb slain from the\nfoundation of the earth\"<\/span>; and (3)<\/span><\/b> the 15th day of the seventh month, which\nis the Feast of Tabernacles.\u00a0 <\/span>Jesus was\nand is the pattern Son for us all.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

It has been a constant source of amazement to me that Jesus has always been painted as poor and indigent — never mind what the Word clearly states.
