RULING AND REIGNING WITH\r\nGOD<\/span><\/b> <\/span>Part 6<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

It had been my intention\r\nto continue today with the theme we took up a few weeks back, and look at the\r\nlife of either David or the apostle Paul.\u00a0\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Those are not complete yet, and the subject of the Throne of God is one\r\nthat is fresh in my spirit.\u00a0 <\/span>It seemed\r\nappropriate to go there today,<\/span> and perhaps for the\r\nnext few weeks. <\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

We will come back to the\r\nlife of David,<\/span> and the life of Paul in the weeks to\r\ncome, so bear with me.\u00a0 <\/span>Let\u2019s go back to\r\nthe Garden of Eden for a bit.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

First of all<\/span><\/b>, we should each be\r\naware by this time that creation began by the spoken word of \"The\r\nWord,\" the Lord Jesus Christ, in a place of absolute agreement with the\r\nFather and the Holy Spirit.\u00a0 <\/span>There is a\r\nphrase which occurs repeatedly during the Genesis account of creation, <\/span>\"And\r\nGod said\u2026\"<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>This phrase, inclusive with its adjoining words,\r\nhas a numerical value of 8-8-8, the triad of eights which represents Jesus\r\nChrist.\u00a0 <\/span>Each time we read, <\/span>\"And\r\nGod said,\" <\/span>it\r\nwas Jesus causing an act of creation by speaking the word out of that creative\r\npower within His being.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

When He created Adam\r\nand Eve, we are told that He created them <\/span>\"in His image,\"and<\/span><\/span><\/span> He emphasizes this point twice in the\r\nsame verse.\u00a0 <\/span>(see<\/span>\r\nGenesis 1:27)\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>\"...in\r\nthe image of God created He him; male and female created He them.\"<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Being \"created\r\nin His image\" does not just mean that we were created with His physical\r\nform or attributes.\u00a0 <\/span>It means that we\r\nwere also created spirit beings with power over the physical and natural\r\nrealm.\u00a0 <\/span>Jesus always was, and is, a\r\nSpirit.\u00a0 <\/span>We were first created as\r\nspirit.\u00a0 <\/span>Life did not come into our physical\r\nform until the spirit entered.\u00a0 <\/span>In\r\nGenesis 2:7, we are told, <\/span>\"And the Lord\r\nGod.......breathed into his nostrils the breath of life.\"<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

In this application,\r\nthe Hebrew text uses the word, neshamah<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>, <\/span><\/b>a\r\nword which Gesenius<\/span> (in his Hebrew-Chaldee<\/span> Lexicon) defines as: the Spirit of God imparting\r\n(His) life and wisdom; that, therefore, which becomes the spirit of man.\u00a0 <\/span>I don't want to belabor this point.\u00a0 <\/span>I just want you to see clearly the single\r\nmost important aspect of rulership<\/span> -- the realm in\r\nwhich the throne functions.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Spirit is the\r\npreeminent and eternal realm of our existence.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>It has precedence over the mind and soul of man.\u00a0 <\/span>It has precedence over the emotions.\u00a0 <\/span>It supersedes the flesh.\u00a0 <\/span>If we rule in any aspect at all, it is\r\nbecause we first take dominion in the realm of the spirit.\u00a0 <\/span>If we assert authority over principalities or\r\npowers, or \"world rulers of darkness,\" it is because we have first\r\ndone so by agreeing in totality with the preeminence of the Lord Jesus Christ, in\r\nand through us<\/b>, by the Spirit.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Conversely, if we are\r\nruled, it is because we are first ruled over in the realm of the spirit by a\r\nspirit being.\u00a0 <\/span>If we are taken advantage\r\nof by evil spirits, it is because we first submit our spirits to the influence\r\nor control of those spirits.\u00a0 <\/span>If we are\r\ntormented in any area of our flesh, it is because we have first provided legal\r\nground for that torment in the realm of the spirit.\u00a0 <\/span>(I will comment further on this in just a\r\nmoment.)\u00a0 <\/span>Our flesh was specifically\r\ndesigned by the Lord as a habitation for the spirit.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

A question which I\r\nhear often posed is, \"How can Christians submit to evil spirits and still\r\ncall themselves Christians?\u00a0 <\/span>How can a\r\nperson redeemed by Christ Jesus be subject to evil spirits?\"<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

It is imperative that\r\nwe understand our makeup and nature.\u00a0 <\/span>We\r\nare first and foremost spirit beings.\u00a0 <\/span>Everything<\/b>\r\n-- no matter how great or small in our lives -- first begins in the realm of\r\nthe spirit.\u00a0 <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Satan has been\r\nreferred to as the prince of this world.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Under his command are kosmokrator<\/span><\/i>:<\/span>world<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span>\r\nrulers of darkness.\u00a0 <\/span>When an angelic\r\nmessenger came to deliver the word of the Lord to Daniel, he mentioned that he\r\nhad just been with Michael (the Archangel) doing battle with the Prince of\r\nPersia, and that when he left Daniel he would be warring against the Prince of\r\nGreece. (see<\/span> Daniel 10)\u00a0 <\/span>These are not earthly princes, but ruling\r\ndemonic spirits whose assignment is national or regional in scope.\u00a0 <\/span>Beyond them are spirits who are assigned as\r\n\"principalities and powers,\" and those who are given the task of invading\r\nthe character and makeup of mankind, deceiving them into accepting lies, or\r\ndistortions, or perversion as a part of their personal makeup.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Redemption is not the\r\nsame as deliverance.\u00a0 <\/span>Redemption merely\r\nprovides the legal basis for deliverance.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Redemption is a legal act by Jesus Christ on the cross to nullify the\r\nSerpent's enslavement of the human race through Adam.\u00a0 <\/span>It provides us with the legal means to be\r\nfree, and to regain the place of the Crown and the Throne originally delivered\r\nto Adam and Eve.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The guarantee of that\r\nThrone is not a blanket guarantee to the human race: it is an opportunity to\r\n\"whosoever will;\" and \"whosoever\" must first will to\r\nagree with Jesus Christ<\/u><\/b>-- not in name, not in form, not in ritual, not\r\nin putting one's name to a piece of paper, but in Truth <\/b>-- in Spirit<\/b>\r\n-- in reality!<\/o:p><\/b><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Deliverance is also a\r\nlegal act, and it occurs when we exercise our legal right as members of the\r\nredeemed community of Jesus Christ -- in that place of agreement with Jesus\r\nChrist<\/b> -- to take authority in the realm of the spirit over those spirits\r\nwhich have harassed us.\u00a0 <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Let me put it another\r\nway.\u00a0 <\/span>Rulership<\/span>\r\n-- in the realm of the spirit -- begins when we exercise our place of union\r\nwith Jesus Christ over other spirits -- all of whom are subject to His onoma<\/i><\/span>, His character, His very makeup.\u00a0 <\/span>Deliverance, therefore, is a natural\r\nbyproduct of the rulership<\/span> which only comes in the\r\nplace of that union.\u00a0 <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

(This Coffee Break,\r\nby the way, is not intended as a treatise on the subject of deliverance, and\r\nthe statements just made are not intended to suggest that deliverance is\r\nautomatic.\u00a0 <\/span>There is nothing automatic\r\nabout it.\u00a0 <\/span>Neither is it a passive\r\noperation.\u00a0 <\/span>At the same time, one should\r\nnot conclude that we need to make a big production of addressing evil spirits\r\nto kick them out when they have been identified.\u00a0 <\/span>Deliverance is accomplished when we take\r\nauthority in the onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>\r\nof Jesus Christ.\u00a0 <\/span>(Not in using His name\r\nas some kind of religious formula.)\u00a0 <\/span>Evil\r\nspirits are not, and must not be, the focus of our attention.\u00a0 <\/span>Overcoming them -- at every level -- is a\r\nnatural process delegated to us by the Holy Spirit for the purpose of learning\r\nto rule.)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Rulership<\/span><\/span> in this realm begins\r\nwhen we <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

(1) <\/span><\/b>allow<\/span><\/span> the Holy Spirit to\r\nidentify spirits which have plagued our lives, along with the legal ground for\r\ntheir existence and operation in us; <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

(2) <\/span><\/b>agree with His\r\nrevelation of their existence, recognizing that His revelation comes for the\r\npurpose of both setting us free, and extending the realm of His authority in\r\nus; and <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

(3) <\/span><\/b>act<\/span><\/span> in obedience to that\r\nrevelation to assert the authority He has given.\u00a0 <\/span>With each successive revelation and\r\ndeliverance, true dominion is extended in our lives.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Let\u2019s return now to\r\nour review of Adam and Eve in the Garden.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>They had complete dominion over the earth, and all that was therein\r\nbecause <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

(1) <\/span><\/b>they<\/span><\/span> had been created and\r\nimbued with rulership<\/span> as a natural function; <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

(2) <\/span><\/b>they<\/span><\/span> were in a place of\r\ntotal intimacy and communion with the Lord; <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

(3) <\/span><\/b>their<\/span><\/span> spirits, their\r\nminds, and their wills were in perfect agreement with Him; and <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

(4) <\/span><\/b>they<\/span><\/span> were clothed in\r\nTruth!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Jesus made an\r\nincredible statement to Thomas at the Last Supper (see John 14:6), <\/span>\"I\r\nam the Way, the Truth, and the Life.\u00a0 <\/span>No\r\nman cometh unto the Father, but by me.\"<\/span>\u00a0\r\n<\/span>His whole onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b>exhibited<\/span> Truth.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>It was impossible for Him to represent\r\nanything other than Truth.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

In his epistle to the\r\nHebrews, Paul says, <\/span>\"In the same way God, desiring even more to show to the\r\nheirs of the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose, interposed with an\r\noath, in order that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible\r\nfor God to lie<\/span><\/u>, we may have strong encouragement\r\n.....\"<\/span>\r\n(see<\/span> Hebrews 6:17-18) NASB<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Let me repeat some\r\nstatements made in in<\/span> the past.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\"Truth\" is\r\nnot a collection of facts.\u00a0 <\/span>And yet it\r\ncan be.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\"Truth\" is\r\nneither the reciting of history, nor a compilation of events which have\r\noccurred.\u00a0 <\/span>And yet it can be.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\"Truth\" is\r\nnot the quoting of scriptures.\u00a0 <\/span>And yet\r\nit can be.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Facts.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>History.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Scriptures.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>They can all be a portion of truth, but in\r\nand of themselves, they are not<\/b> -- by any stretch of the imagination --\r\ntruth.<\/o:p><\/b><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Facts can be twisted\r\nby The Spirit of Error and become a lie.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>History can be distorted -- and often is -- so that historical facts are\r\ntaken out of context to present a false picture.\u00a0 <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Personal experience,\r\nleft to stand on its own, can bring wrong conclusions.\u00a0 <\/span>Scriptures can be quoted to support virtually\r\nany stance one desires to take.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Truth, therefore, is not\r\njust facts, history, personal experience, or scriptures.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Truth<\/span><\/b> -- the genuine\r\narticle -- can only come by the Spirit of Truth, which is one of the seven\r\nSpirits of God.\u00a0 <\/span>The Spirit of Truth\r\ntakes facts, takes history, takes<\/span> events which have\r\noccurred -- either in our lives, or in the lives of others -- or, takes verses\r\nof scripture and applies them in a manner which brings life.\u00a0 <\/span>The Spirit of Truth takes that life and\r\ntransmits it into the core of our beings.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Truth<\/span><\/b> -- the very essence\r\nof Jesus' onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>\r\n-- is that which He was clothed in.\u00a0 <\/span>It\r\nwas the life which went forth when He spoke the worlds into existence.\u00a0 <\/span>It was the spirit which went forth when He\r\nbreathed into man the breath of life.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Because everything He\r\nspoke was founded in Truth, there was an absoluteness to everything which\r\noccurred.\u00a0 <\/span>The very foundations of the\r\nUniverse rested upon that Truth.\u00a0 <\/span>Truth,\r\ntherefore, is a part of the invincible foundation of the Throne.\u00a0 <\/span>(We will return to this, momentarily.)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Now, consider again\r\nAdam and Eve.\u00a0 <\/span>So long as they dwelled in\r\nthe place of unity and communion with the Lord, they were clothed in\r\nTruth.\u00a0 <\/span>What truth?\u00a0 <\/span>The truth that they were\r\ncreated in the image of God.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>The truth that they were created in His likeness.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>The truth that they were\r\nlike Him -- i.e., \"like God.\"<\/span>\u00a0\r\n<\/span>The truth that in Him was every piece of understanding, every piece of\r\nwisdom, every<\/span> piece of revelation they would ever need\r\nto exist -- PERIOD.\u00a0 <\/span>END OF\r\nPARAGRAPH!\u00a0 <\/span>EXCLAMATION MARK!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

There was absolutely nothing<\/b>\r\nin the way of knowledge, understanding, or wisdom they would ever need in order\r\nto live and function as the supreme rulers of this world outside of Truth<\/b>.\u00a0 <\/span>In fact, the Lord warned them that the Tree\r\nof the Knowledge of Good and Evil, which stood in the midst of the Garden near\r\nthe Tree of Life, was the one tree of which they should not eat because it\r\ncontained a lethal virus which would bring death to them <\/span>\"in\r\nthe day you eat thereof.\"<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Let me pause here,\r\nparenthetically, to share with you a portion of some of the events<\/span>\r\nthat occurred in the Garden which the Lord gave to me back in 1996 during my\r\ntravels in the Spirit.\u00a0 <\/span>In this\r\nexperience (which is being prepared in manuscript form for publication as\r\neither one or two books) the Lord took me through time, first to the future as\r\neternity unfolded and then to the past, stretching back before time (as we know\r\nit) began, to see an unfolding pattern of His plan and purposes.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

He allowed me to\r\nwitness, firsthand, events as they unfolded -- events which became an integral\r\npart of creating and preparing for Himself<\/span> a Bride who\r\nwould be His counterpart, His co-equal, His Other Self.\u00a0 <\/span>I have written to describe that which I saw\r\nin somewhat the manner of an on-the-spot news reporter and commentator.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Our attention is\r\nbeing riveted on a creature whose appearance defies description.\u00a0 <\/span>Is this one of the many living creatures over\r\nwhom Adam has been given dominion?\u00a0 <\/span>It\r\nis.\u00a0 <\/span>But watch.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

This creature stands\r\nwaiting in the trees.\u00a0 <\/span>He is tall, lithe,\r\nhandsome<\/span> -- in fact, his countenance would redefine\r\nthe word, \"beautiful.\"\u00a0 <\/span>His\r\nappearance could be called, \"serpentine,\" yet he bears little\r\nresemblance to the snakes we have known.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>He radiates a luminescence which is reminiscent of the presence of the\r\nLord, yet is distinctly different.\u00a0 <\/span>In fact,\r\nthe more one looks at it, the more one realizes that this radiance -- as\r\nmagnetic as it may seem -- most certainly does not originate in the Lord.\u00a0 <\/span>He is a being who obviously was created by\r\nthe Lord for His purposes, and He epitomizes all that mankind would call\r\nperfection and beauty.\u00a0 <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

There is a strange\r\nspirit which emanates, however, and we can easily see that his onoma<\/i><\/span>, his very essence, stands in opposition to the\r\nLord.\u00a0 <\/span>What a strange magnetism he\r\nexudes!\u00a0 <\/span>Though he has been once called,\r\nLucifer (\"the light bearer\"), and now is known as, The Serpent, we\r\nknow that in the centuries and millennia to come, he will lead millions upon\r\nmillions of people into darkness.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Adam and Eve have\r\nobviously seen him many times over the years.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>As near as we can tell, they have occupied the Garden for the past two\r\nthousand years.\u00a0 <\/span>From the serpent's\r\ngreeting to Eve, he must certainly have spoken on many occasions to her.\u00a0 <\/span>It is quite apparent that he has been setting\r\nup this day for a long time, and now prepares to spring a trap on her.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The words that the\r\nserpent speaks ring with a kind of logic.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Veiled behind those words, however, is a nefarious purpose, planned,\r\ndesired, and hoped for from the moment he was cast out of the presence of the Lord.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Once privy to\r\nthe counsels of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, he has known of the creation\r\nplan before it was ever spoken into existence.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>He has known of the desire of the Lord Jesus Christ to have for Himself\r\na counterpart.\u00a0 <\/span>In his rebellion against\r\nthe Godhead and attempt to usurp the throne of the universe, he established a\r\nplan and course of action to become that counterpart, never mind the fact that\r\nhe was not created for that purpose.\u00a0 <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Lucifer refused to\r\naccept the fact that he was not<\/b> created for the throne, nor<\/span> for fellowship on a co-equal footing with the Lord\r\nGod.\u00a0 <\/span>From his perspective he had been\r\ncreated to rule, placed in a position of command over the angelic hosts.\u00a0 <\/span>That certainly was a position of power and\r\nauthority.\u00a0 <\/span>Whether he liked it or not,\r\nhowever, he was a created<\/u>being<\/span> -- not a\r\ncreator.\u00a0 <\/span>The onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b>of<\/span> the Godhead had never been\r\ngiven to be the essence of his being -- and never would!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Because he could not\r\naccept the fact that he was not -- and never would be<\/b> -- given that\r\nplace of intimacy and co-regency with Jesus Christ, he gathered together a\r\nthird of the angelic hosts in heaven in a conspiracy to take the throne and\r\nfulfill that place by his own might, power and authority.\u00a0 <\/span>The fact that we see him here today is clear\r\nand present evidence that he failed in that endeavor, and was thrown out of heaven\u00a0 <\/span>--<\/span> never to\r\nagain enjoy the place for which he was <\/i>created.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

His aspiration and\r\nobjective here in the Garden is to steal Adam's bride and counterpart for\r\nhimself, and to thwart the plan of the Lord God to bring into existence that\r\nBride who will be His counterpart.\u00a0 <\/span>His\r\nultimate mission is to take Eve for himself<\/span>, to\r\ncounterfeit and duplicate the Plan, gaining in the process one who would become\r\nthe counterpart of Lucifer.\u00a0 <\/span>With his onoma<\/i><\/span> fulfilled -- so he thinks -- he will now be\r\nable to seize the throne of the universe because he will have that fullness of\r\nexpression which the Lord lacks.\u00a0 <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

One has to appreciate\r\nthe perfection in Eve to understand why the serpent is going after her.\u00a0 <\/span>It is not that Eve is Adam's weakness -- his\r\nAchilles Heel.\u00a0 <\/span>Everything she represents\r\nis the consummation of excellence.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Everything within her bespeaks a total love for Adam -- and for the Lord\r\nGod.\u00a0 <\/span>She makes Adam, Adam!\u00a0 <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The serpent is\r\nconsumed with jealousy because of what he sees.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>He is bound and determined to have her for himself.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The Lord has enabled\r\nus to see into his thoughts.\u00a0 <\/span>His mind is\r\na virtual maelstrom.\u00a0 <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

How dare the Lord God\r\ncreate such perfection for a human being and try to enslave me as an incomplete\r\nbeing, all the while setting the stage for Himself<\/span> to\r\nhave that kind of fulfillment?\u00a0 <\/span>Adam is\r\njust a flesh and blood being created from the dust of the earth and is not\r\nentitled to that kind of enjoyment.\u00a0 <\/span>He\r\ndoes not have the kind of powers I have.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>I will take the woman for myself.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>I will change her.\u00a0 <\/span>No matter how\r\nlong it takes, I will make her love me.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>The Lord thinks He's going to get a counterpart!\u00a0 <\/span>Hahh<\/span>!\u00a0 <\/span>Just wait until He sees what I am going to\r\ndo!<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

As we see Adam and\r\nEve approach the serpent, there is a lilting sound to his voice which\r\nimmediately captures their attention.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Ignoring Adam, it is to Eve he now speaks, drawing her attention to the\r\ntwo trees in the midst of the Garden, <\/span>\"Yea, hath God said,\r\n'Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?\"<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

As this mostly\r\none-sided conversation ensues and the serpent lays his trap for Eve, he little\r\nknows that he is about to spring a trap on himself -- a trap whose jaws will\r\ninexorably close on him though he will attempt to escape. The serpent is obviously\r\nunaware of the fact that when the first life was breathed into Adam, the Lord\r\nbreathed His onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>\r\ninto him, and that Adam is going to do the unexpected in a moment. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Adam's face is filled\r\nwith puzzlement as he hears the serpent say to Eve, \"You shall not surely\r\ndie.\u00a0 <\/span>For the Lord knows that in the day\r\nyou eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be as gods,\r\nknowing good and evil.\"\u00a0 <\/span>Thoughts\r\nrace through his mind.\u00a0 <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

What does being gods have<\/span> to do\r\nwith anything?\u00a0 <\/span>We have fellowship and intimate\r\nfriendship with the Lord God, our Creator, even now.\u00a0 <\/span>We have been given dominion over the earth,\r\nand over every creature that walks upon the earth.\u00a0 <\/span>There has been nothing withheld from us.\u00a0 <\/span>Do we need something that He has not given\r\nus?\u00a0 <\/span>We have been created in the likeness\r\nand image of the Lord God.\u00a0 <\/span>Are we not\r\n\"as God\" even now?\u00a0 <\/span>Hmmmm<\/span>.............what is good?\u00a0 <\/span>For that matter, what is evil?<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

As these thoughts\r\nhave filled him, Adam has looked off into the distance, somewhat oblivious to\r\nEve's gaze at the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.\u00a0 <\/span>Logic dictates that they obey the voice of\r\nthe Lord in this matter.\u00a0 <\/span>He has said,\r\n\"Of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, you shall not\r\neat; for in the day you eat thereof, you shall surely die.\"\u00a0 <\/span>Adam is not really sure what that means since\r\ndeath is an unknown quantity, and they have never seen death, having been\r\ncreated with such regenerative powers as to virtually live forever, but a\r\ntermination or cessation of their relationship with the Lord God seems certain\r\nif they partake.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>That must be what death is all about.<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

I thought I could finish this picture today, but the rest of this\r\nnarrative will wait<\/span> until next week.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n
