\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

In order to pick up\r\nwith the train of thought with which we were finishing last week\u2019s discussion,\r\nI\u2019m repeating the last paragraph.\u00a0 <\/span>That\r\nsaid, let\u2019s get right to it.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Satan's\r\neffort would have been logical -- especially when you consider that he was\r\neating of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, and judging the Lord\r\naccordingly.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Jesus'\r\nanswer must have been a real shock to him.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>It was not a logical response.\u00a0 <\/span>It\r\nwas a powerful comeback in the realm of the Spirit that raised up the Throne of\r\nGod; one that decimated the roots and foundations of the Tree of Knowledge, and\r\neverything that Satan had stood upon, <\/span>\"Begone,\r\nSatan!\u00a0 <\/span>For it is written: You shall\r\nworship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.\" <\/span>(quotations from\r\nthe NASB)<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Jesus'\r\nanswer established the Throne of God for all who would come into relationship\r\nwith Him; and it established the foundation for the Throne of the Lamb, which\r\nwould become evident in time to come.\u00a0 <\/span>He\r\nmade it crystal clear that any and all thrones -- be they the thrones of this\r\nworld, or the Throne of the Universe, be they physical power and authority, or\r\nspiritual power and authority -- are established in righteousness (a right\r\nrelationship with God); and that righteousness is established in worship.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

He\r\nalso made it abundantly clear that the only real worship is the <\/span>Worship of\r\nGod.\u00a0 <\/span>Some time later, as you will\r\nrecall, the Samaritan woman cornered Him at the well and engaged Him in a\r\ndiscussion on worship.\u00a0 <\/span>His answer to her\r\nwas,<\/span>\"God is a spirit, and they that worship Him must worship\r\nHim in Spirit, and in Truth!\"\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Once again, He made\r\na point of the fact that all relationship with the Lord is based in worship --\r\nin the realm of the Spirit.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Some\r\nyears ago, I distributed an article entitled, \"The Purpose of\r\nEkklesia.\"\u00a0 <\/span>In it I addressed the\r\ntendency in our midst to become so focused on the methodology of our\r\nspontaneous worship that we lose sight of our calling to the Lord Jesus\r\nChrist.\u00a0 <\/span>Let me add a little to what has\r\nalready been stated.\u00a0 <\/span>When Earle and\r\nMarcia Treend, Della and I first began to gather daily for worship in Anchorage\r\nsome thirty years ago, there was life springing forth in our midst\r\nconstantly.\u00a0 <\/span>As time went on and the move\r\nto Trails' End occurred, that Ekklesia grew and our worship music took on a\r\nmuch larger scope.\u00a0 <\/span>Our experiences in\r\nthe midst of this worship took us into vast realms none of us had ever before\r\nconsidered in our wildest dreams.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

At\r\nthe same time, the frequency of our gathering together diminished from a daily\r\nbasis to two and three times a week, then to once a week, and then to whenever\r\nwe could get together.\u00a0 <\/span>Our travels and\r\nvarying schedules became such that we did well if we got together once or twice\r\na month.\u00a0 <\/span>All of us experienced\r\n\"withdrawals,\" feeling as if a major part of our existence was\r\nmissing.\u00a0 <\/span>Things haven\u2019t changed much,\r\nhave they?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

In\r\nthat same letter on the purpose of Ekklesia, I shared the strong sense that\r\nthere was going to be a major shaking within our group.\u00a0 <\/span>There has been.\u00a0 <\/span>Shaking is a natural part of how Holy Spirit\r\nkeeps God\u2019s people from getting too stuck in a rut.\u00a0 <\/span>I believe that it is ordered by the Holy\r\nSpirit for the purpose of reorienting our focus.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Methodology\r\ntends toward becoming the objective rather than the Lord.\u00a0 <\/span>The visions, supernatural experiences with\r\nthe audible voice of God, the sounds of angelic voices in our midst and the\r\nsounds of added instruments being played by angels as we were worshipping, so\r\nawed us that for a time our gathering together became the objective instead of\r\nministry to the Lord.\u00a0 <\/span>We were in danger\r\nof developing an \"us four and no more\" mentality, with an arrogant\r\nspirit of exclusivity.\u00a0 <\/span>The other side of\r\nthis coin was the evolving of a \"preference\" for being with certain\r\nones in our midst.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

This\r\nis a trap of Satan.\u00a0 <\/span>If he can get us\r\nsidetracked with \"gathering daily,\" or coming together so we can hear\r\nangels in our midst, or for the purpose of experiencing any supernatural\r\nmanifestations, we have lost it!\u00a0 <\/span>If we\r\nprefer the fellowship of certain ones to the exclusion of others, and focus our\r\nattentions on a select few, we immediately bow before the feet of Satan,\r\nsuccumbing to the Fear of Man.\u00a0 <\/span>The\r\nimmediate result for us is the loss of our place on the Throne.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

\r\nPlease\r\ndon\u2019t mistake what I\u2019m saying.\u00a0 <\/span>The\r\nconcept of David\u2019s Tabernacle and 24-hour, seven-days-a-week gathering for\r\npraise and worship is still an objective.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

\r\nTrying\r\nto go back to the way we did things all those years years ago because of the\r\nway in which we were brought into the presence of the Lord back then, turns it\r\ninto a worship of the methodology instead of worshipping the Lord.\u00a0 <\/span>Again, we yield the Throne to the Enemy.\u00a0 <\/span>Anytime the focus shifts away from the Lord\r\nto the peripheral events which occur normally as a part of being One with Him,\r\nwe get sucked into a trap.\u00a0 <\/span>Our objective\r\nis not hearing angels.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Our\r\nobjective is not in the gathering together.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Even Ekklesia is not our objective.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>(Ekklesia is the Holy Spirit's paradigm and framework for our processing\r\n-- not the other way around.\u00a0 <\/span>We can't\r\nbuild Ekklesia, and we can't pick and choose those whom we will\r\n\"allow\" the Holy Spirit join to us.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>It just isn't our prerogative.)\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Our\r\nobjective is not to keep the Ekklesia together in \"the way it has\r\nbeen.\"\u00a0 <\/span>This has been the downfall\r\nof many in each move of God, in every previous generation.\u00a0 <\/span>We cannot afford the luxury of wanting things\r\nto go on \"the way they used to.\"\u00a0\r\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Let\r\nme drop another little tidbit on you.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>The realm of the supernatural is not going to go away just because we\r\ndon't gather together in person as frequently.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Change is taking place in our midst -- necessary change.\u00a0 <\/span>The preeminence of the Lord Jesus Christ and\r\nour worship of Him will continue as THE focus of our existence.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

At\r\nthe same time our \"tent stakes\" are being moved out so as to\r\nencompass others whom the Lord is bringing into this realm.\u00a0 <\/span>The focus of the place of our gathering\r\ntogether is also changing. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

No\r\none should kick at the changes the Holy Spirit brings about.\u00a0 <\/span>So long as our continued focus is ministering\r\nto Him, He will take care of the people with whom we are involved and the\r\nunfolding events.\u00a0 <\/span>The Ekklesia will not\r\ndie.\u00a0 <\/span>It will grow, and the glory of the\r\nLord will be seen visibly as the Bride fuses together and takes on a coherence\r\nin the world.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

We\r\nhave previously discussed the fact that John begins his writing of the\r\nRevelation by saying, <\/span>\"I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and I\r\nheard..........,\" <\/span>(Revelation\r\n1:10) whereupon he launches into a detailed description of those things which\r\nhe both saw and heard.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nrevelation of the Throne of God, and the Throne of the Lamb is not one which\r\ncan be known through intellectual pursuit.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>One does not \"study\" to learn about<\/i> the Throne.\u00a0 <\/span>Neither can it be perceived through an analysis\r\nof the scriptures.\u00a0 <\/span>The Throne is a\r\nliving experience, seen and revealed through and by the Holy Spirit, as we live\r\nand walk in the spirit.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nThrone is, and must be, experiential for all who will be One with Jesus Christ\r\n-- changed, conformed, and molded into His new onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b>.\u00a0 <\/span>The Throne is not some mystical, ethereal\r\nconcept.\u00a0 <\/span>It is neither a geographical\r\nplace, nor physical piece of gold or marble, nor some other substance situated\r\nin a certain cosmic locale.\u00a0 <\/span>It is the\r\nliving, functioning reality of the rulership of the Most High God, in the most\r\npractical and cardinal aspect of our entire existence.\u00a0 <\/span>It is the working of the power and the\r\nauthority of Jesus Christ, our King of Kings, Lord of Lords, and Bridegroom --\r\nour Other Self -- in us!<\/b><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

When\r\nJesus cried out on the cross, uttering those final words before His death, <\/span>\"It\r\nis finished,\" <\/span>He\r\nhad accomplished something of such overwhelming proportions as to boggle the\r\nnatural mind.\u00a0 <\/span>He had completed a Plan\r\nordained before the first words of Creation were ever spoken.\u00a0 <\/span>He had legally ended Satan's hold over a\r\nspecies of being -- a people -- brought into existence for the sole purpose of\r\nfellowship -- at His peer level -- with Him.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>He had once again established His Throne in the natural or earthly realm.\u00a0 <\/span>He had provided a means for that same people\r\nto once again be seated with Him<\/b> on that Throne.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Paul\r\ndescribed it like this, <\/span>\"[I pray] that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father\r\nof glory, may give unto you the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation in the\r\nknowledge of Him; I pray that the eyes of your understanding may be\r\nenlightened, so that you may know what is the hope of His calling<\/u>, what\r\nare the riches of the glory of His inheritance<\/u> in the saints, and what\r\nis the surpassing greatness of His power<\/u> toward us who believe, in\r\naccordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about\r\nin Christ, <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

When He raised Him from the dead, and seated Him at His right\r\nhand in the heavenly places, far above all thrones and authority and power and\r\ndominion, and every <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i>that is named, not only in this age, but also in that one which\r\nis to come.\u00a0 <\/span>And He put all things in\r\nsubjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the\r\nEkklesia, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.\" <\/span>(Ephesians\r\n1:17-23)\u00a0 <\/span>NASB and my translation.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

It\r\nis important to note that Paul prays for those of us who believe to receive the\r\nSpirit of Wisdom and Revelation in the knowledge of Him, and to see the\r\ngreatness of His power toward us.\u00a0 <\/span>What is\r\nthe greatness of His power to us who believe?\u00a0\r\n<\/span>It becomes obvious in the next few phrases when he describes Jesus as\r\nbeing (present tense) seated at the right hand of God, <\/span>\"Far\r\nabove all thrones and authority and power and dominion, and every <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i>\r\nthat is named, not only in this age, but also in that one which is to\r\ncome.\"\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Then he uses the\r\npictorial metaphor of the body, describing Jesus as its head and us as the\r\nbody, making us One with Him and also seated at the right hand of God.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

That's\r\nnot a theory!\u00a0 <\/span>It is reality.\u00a0 <\/span>\"Heavenly places,\" once again, are\r\nnot some mystic place in the cosmos.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>This is a living, operative actuality where we function in and through\r\nand with Jesus Christ, <\/span><\/span>\"Far\r\nabove all thrones and authority and power and dominion, and every <\/span>onoma<\/span><\/i>that\r\nis named, not only in this age, but also in that one which is to\r\ncome.\"\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>This is the Throne\r\nof God and the Lamb!<\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

In\r\nwriting to the Ekklesia in Colosse, Paul said, <\/span>\"He is\r\nthe image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; for by Him were\r\nall things created, both in the heavens, and on earth, visible and invisible,\r\nwhether they be thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities: all things were\r\ncreated by Him, and for Him: and He is before all things, and in Him all things\r\nhold together.\" <\/span>(<\/span>Colossians\r\n1:15-17)\u00a0 <\/span>NASB<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nsignificance of this statement is that He did not just speak Creation into\r\nexistence: He also created all thrones -- including His.\u00a0 <\/span>Prior to Christ's death and resurrection, the\r\nthrones of His people were subject to Satan.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Coming therefore in human flesh, and asserting power and authority over\r\nSatan, He redeemed access to those thrones for His people.\u00a0 <\/span>Jesus overcame him by \"the blood of the\r\nLamb,\" by virtue of becoming that \"Lamb that was slain.\"\u00a0 <\/span>For Him, it was finished.\u00a0 <\/span>For us, it was just beginning -- and yet it\r\nhad been completed!\u00a0 <\/span>In the realm of the\r\nSpirit, time is non-existent.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n\u00a0 <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

As\r\nthe first-century Ekklesias emerged and grew under the auspices of the\r\nParaklete, the Holy Spirit -- who is One with both the Father and the Son and\r\nis likewise timeless -- began to carry out His assignment, functioning both\r\ntimelessly and in time.\u00a0 <\/span>In the same way\r\nevents unfolded for Esther as she was prepared for her king and the throne, the\r\nBride began to go through the fire and be subjected to thlipsis<\/span><\/i>: <\/b>to pressure, to affliction, to\r\npersecution, to trials and tribulation.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

As\r\nthe Lord transported John out of time into eternity to see the unfolding of the\r\nBride and her preparation for the Bridegroom, he was able to see past, present\r\nand future.\u00a0 <\/span>He saw Jesus overcome the\r\nflesh, its frailties and diseases, all human emotions, the desires of this\r\nworld, and the wiles and treachery of Satan \"by the blood of the\r\nLamb.\"\u00a0 <\/span>He saw Him overcome in the\r\nrealm of the Spirit and regain the throne for all those who would follow by the\r\nsame path.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

And\r\nJohn saw war in the heavenlies.\u00a0 <\/span>He was\r\ntaken into the distant past before time began and saw as Satan rose up to usurp\r\nthe Throne of God, taking a third of the angels with him.\u00a0 <\/span>John saw the Archangel, Michael, stand\r\nagainst Satan and defeat him.\u00a0 <\/span>He watched\r\nthe transformation of Lucifer from \"angel of light\" to the\r\n\"serpent of old,\" that old dragon, Satan.\u00a0 <\/span>He saw him removed from his place in Heaven\r\nand thrown down to the earth.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Time\r\nblurred for an instant as John was transported across centuries and\r\nmillennia.\u00a0 <\/span>Then he heard a loud voice in\r\nHeaven, saying, <\/span>\"Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our\r\nGod, and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren\r\nhas been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night.\"<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Once\r\nagain, he was taken forward in time to watch it happen again.\u00a0 <\/span>This time he saw the Bride overcome the\r\ndragon.\u00a0 <\/span>This time His testimony of the\r\nevent was, <\/span><\/span>\"And they\r\novercame him by and because of the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their\r\ntestimony, and they did not react in any way to the Fear of, or threat of\r\ndeath.\" <\/span>(my\r\ntranslation)\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

How\r\nwas that again?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

\"They overcame him by (1) the blood of the Lamb, and (2)\r\nthe word of their testimony.\"\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>We already know\r\nwhat \"the blood of the Lamb\" represented, so what was \"the word\r\nof their testimony?\"\u00a0 <\/span>They testified\r\nto the fact that they also overcame in the very same way that Jesus\r\novercame.\u00a0 <\/span>Not only did they overcome in\r\nthe same way, but also the very same things: namely, (1) <\/span><\/b>the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, (2) <\/span><\/b>the lust and thirst of their minds to\r\noperate on the basis of reason, intellect, and \"knowledge,\" (3) <\/span><\/b>the cries of their flesh to be satisfied, (4) <\/span><\/b>the instinctive reactions to the Fear of\r\nDeath, the Fear of Man, and the Fear of Evil, (5)\r\n<\/span><\/b>the inclination to cling to the \"safety net\" of religion, (6) <\/span><\/b>Satan, his seven dominant spirits, and his\r\narmies of evil spirits, and (7) <\/span><\/b>the\r\nhuman tendency to let down one's guard after numerous victories, and rest on\r\none's laurels.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nBride, therefore, overcame by testifying to her own experiential walking out of\r\nthe same path of overcoming Jesus walked.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Her testimony was twofold: (1) <\/span><\/b>the\r\nblood of the Lamb accomplished the legal basis for her to take authority over\r\nthe \"Tree of Knowledge\" and burn it with fire; (Jesus had already\r\nlaid the axe to the root, and it only remained for the Bride to burn it as\r\nchaff with her rejection and invalidation of it as a life force to be reckoned\r\nwith.) and (2) <\/span><\/b>she had personally\r\nencountered each obstacle Jesus had overcome, winning those very same battles\r\nin her life.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\ncrowning proof to all this was John's witness that <\/span>\"they\r\ndid not react in any way to the Fear of, or threat of death.\"\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Having overcome the Fear of Death, it no\r\nlonger affected (or infected) the decision-making processes in walking that\r\npath.\u00a0 <\/span>Jesus had overcome the last enemy\r\nof mankind, Death, taking death with Him on the cross and destroying its\r\npower.\u00a0 <\/span>The Bride, therefore, must also\r\nhave overcome death to such a degree that in the midst of her overcoming and\r\ntestifying to it, death, the fear of it, and the threat of it would never be a\r\nfactor.\u00a0 <\/span>Her testimony would consequently\r\nbe the mirror image of that to which Jesus testified.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

(It\r\nis of significance that the cross is never mentioned in the Revelation even\r\nonce.\u00a0 <\/span>The purpose of the cross had\r\nalready been fulfilled.\u00a0 <\/span>It was never\r\ndesigned to be an object of ongoing attention for those who would be joined to\r\nJesus Christ on the Throne.)<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Forty\r\ntimes in the record of the Revelation, John sees and speaks of the Throne.\u00a0 <\/span>No other subject receives as much attention. \u00a0<\/span>It outnumbers every other topic except worship\r\nby a factor of at least 2:1, and is the central theme of the message John\r\nshares.\u00a0 <\/span>The second most-discussed\r\nsubject is worship; and the third is overcoming -- often mentioned within the\r\nframework of the fourth most-mentioned item: the crown.\u00a0 <\/span>Seen, therefore, within its proper\r\nperspective, the principal message John shares is notthlipsis<\/span><\/i><\/b>(or tribulation), nor death, nor\r\ndoom and gloom, but ruling and reigning.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Worship,\r\ntherefore, is directly interrelated and intertwined with the Crown of the\r\novercomer, and being seated on the Throne with our Bridegroom, Jesus\r\nChrist.\u00a0 <\/span>It is apparent that the Throne\r\nis established in worship, and that it functions in the midst of worship.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Now,\r\nlest anyone who reads this letter draw the conclusion that I am attempting to\r\nrelegate the Throne strictly to the present day and the overcoming processes of\r\nthe Bride, be assured that is not so!\u00a0\r\n<\/span>What I have been driving at is that there can be no Throne in the future\r\nof those among God's people who do not overcome even as Christ overcame.\u00a0 <\/span>There will be no Throne for the majority of\r\nthose we so glibly refer to as \u201cChristians.\u201d\u00a0\r\n<\/span>The Throne of the future, the Throne of the thousand-year reign of\r\npeace, the Throne of the new heavens and new earth, the Throne of Forever, all\r\nare reserved for the Bride of Christ.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Those\r\nwho do not overcome \"all things\" will not be invited to sit with\r\nChrist on the Throne of the future.\u00a0 <\/span>This\r\nis not a legalistic criterion based on \"performance.\"\u00a0 <\/span>This has nothing to do with being saved,\r\nbeing baptized in water, being baptized in the Holy Spirit, walking in the\r\ngifts of the Spirit, etc., etc., etc.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>This is a place of recognition and authority given to those who learn to\r\nexercise that authority in the midst of present day situations, circumstances,\r\ntemptations, and obstacles.\u00a0 <\/span>Jesus Christ\r\nwill seat no one on that Throne who has not first learned rulership as He\r\nlearned rulership, who has not overcome even as He overcame.\u00a0 <\/span>The Throne of the future is for those who have\r\nlearned to rule in the present.<\/span><\/p>\r\n
